I've had a lot of time to think about it & I'm glad for some of the traumatic events I endured in my youth. They definitely prevented me from being taken advantage of later on.

I'm grateful that I have an inherent knack for standardized tests... Without any study I've been scoring 80th percentile on the Psych and Critical Analysis parts of the MCAT, which are most people's lowest sections. Thank goodness, that wiped out 50% of the thing.
I could not IMAGINE starting out with low scores in all the categories. I have 5/12 weeks to go and even after all the reviewing, I need ALL that time for the stupid Chem/Physical section :(

Thankful I took a chance and met that guy. I don't know where it will go but it was cool to hang out and exercise my social skills since I'm usually in an introvert bubble. Plus he looks even better than before.

Got some press on nails for the first time, I haven't done my nails in over a year, but wow they look fab. I wonder how long they'll last tho.

I feel like everyone around me is like "2016 sucked," but overall, my year was really freaking good. I went back to grad school, became an EMT, ran 2 half marathons, and started dating one of my best friends. Aside from the fact that after running those 2 half marathons, I got really lazy and gained back a fair amount of weight (and my xmas present to me is a personal trainer), it was a pretty banner year for me, actually.

Also, I took the crappy shift at my vanilla job because I realized that, while the hours suck, and it wasn't what I "wanted," it might actually be a blessing that solves some big problems that I didn't know how to solve: It puts me in a position where I don't have to stay in the city just yet and ever since my friend being a creep (which I discussed in pissy annoyances), that is a perfect solution to me not having to deal with that or find a different place that I cannot afford right now. And, even though I wanted the 80-hour week/one week off schedule for travel purposes, at the moment, it is probably good to have a weekly schedule around which I could get an internship or second job to boost my grad school track/resume right now. In the future, I could push for a different schedule and if it doesn't work, I can say that I need to look for something else because of the commute. At that point, I can give a concrete reason about not being able to move or handle the commute, and it will sound much better than "I just don't want that shift."
I'm trying to make the best of it, especially since my to-work commute will also be shorter in the middle of night with no cars and no construction going on.

I think my gastroenterologist is my favorite doctor I've ever seen. She's so nice, doesn't blow me off and didn't lecture me about poor follow-through just said don't disappear again. I'm so glad I got in to see her before the new year. She did want to get a couple procedures done and I only have to wait about two weeks.
Only two more days!!! And I am feeling really good about applying for new jobs and if nothing pans out quickly I'll live.

This is the second time I got distracted and left something behind in my cart at Walmart and both times it was turned in and I got it back. First time was my cell phone which was all cracked anyway but still, and today my suede gloves. Very grateful

A woman I used to work with came back for the holiday party on Thursday and it was so nice to see her and tell her about some good things did happen this year. I got into my program (something I never thought would happen) and am half done. I paid off the worst of my school loans and even if I can't get proper credit for it I've been a group manager for over a year. And I'm sure there will be growing pains next year but I'll either be done with my master's by this time next year or finally in a new job.
I also love my cat shelter people. At dinner on Monday someone asked how I found out about the clinic, and after I finished answering someone said how glad they were to have and how I'm so reliable and helpful and there was a lot of murmuring and agreement :) . And I went in today to help too, since I'm in town and I'm sure everyone else is busier than me and people were just so appreciative. And one guy brought in little gifts for everyone just for coming in. So nice.

Today I'm grateful for having a nice place to live, food in the fridge and the ability to work without restriction. I'm also grateful for the keto diet. I had all but given up, and its the only thing that has kicked off my weightloss after it stalling again. I am glad there was a solution for me.

Nothing is going right in my life, but I worked double shifts the last four days and every shift were so good. I made enough money to cover my winter semester tuition fees and my books, which cost almost $1000 every semester, plus some extra money. I am really grateful for this job and my regulars. That's the most money I've ever made in a week!
Have 2 weeks left, hoping I will make enough money to cover my rent and bills for the next four months, plus pay off my credit card. Hopefully it will be as good, I was expecting this week to be dead, but I thought since I really need money even if I go in and make $100 it's better than staying home and only working the best shifts (friday and saturday nights), I used to work all day for a little less than $100, but my earnings were beyond my expectations!!
I'll be working 6-7 days a week, mostly doubles the next two weeks until classes start. I don't wanna have to think about anything else. This job allows me to escape reality and make $$$$. Usually I'm the type who thinks money solve every problem, but this time not really. Oh well, it beats having a crappy life and not making any money at work, been there, it's hella depressing, so I am trying to be grateful for what I have.

I got the shift I wanted during shift bids! 4 days a week, not starting til 1pm., and then a 3 day weekend. THANK GOD Only one more week of BS and then no more getting up at 1:30am and constantly being in a sleep deficit with not enough days off in a row to catch up. I have no idea how I got that shift considering I have no seniority and who knows if they'll change shit around again in another month or two but fuck it lol For now I'll be happy.

I read a few chapters of the book 'The Magic' yesterday before work, it really put me in a good frame of mind, it talks about being grateful for all that you have and the more grateful you are the more abundance you will have. I had read The Secret many years ago and i believe it works. I had such a great day yesterday, hardly any girls showed up, a few regs came in, and I had a few customers approaching me for dances, was amazing! They were all good customers too. Gonna read this book before work from now on.

Really grateful for this job, generous regulars and generous tippers. This is the first time I work 6 days per week doing mostly double shifts because I really needed money and was thinking even if I only make $100 it's better than nothing. The place got much busier, my looks and hustle improved and I almost cannot believe how much I made the past 3 weeks. I was expecting the worse, but never had to go home with $0 or $100, every shift were so good even during week day and sunday I made as much as I do during the week end. Also made some new regulars who came to visit me twice per week every week I worked and always tip so well.

Being alive. And healthy.
After seeing so many celebs die in such a short time span it really freaked me out like what if I die tomorrow and is anyone coming to my funeral. I'm just not ready to die yet and so glad I'm still around because I have work to do and when I go out I want to have created a legacy that lives on posthumously. I just hope its a peaceful death and I don't have to suffer.
Just glad I'm here cause it makes me realize I need to contribute more.

Today I'm grateful to know that my next door neighbors are really sweet people. In the 2 years I've lived here we have never really spoken to each other other than a quick hello. I had trouble with my car today and the husband and wife both came out and spent a while helping me. My car basically is stuck in the driveway for now, so they offered to go pick up things for me at the grocery store if I needed it. Im just glad to know my neighbors are looking out for me. Especially since I live by myself now.

I'm grateful I quit holding grudges over too many things. The "Law Of Attraction" style positive results are happening very fast.
I'm also grateful that someone who betrayed me very badly 6 years ago is getting what she deserved finally. But really it's more a case of her being stupid & underestimating the effects of her bad treatment on other people. Sucks to be her anyways...

Grateful for awesome finds at the thrift store. I went there twice in the last 2 weeks and both times found something awesome to wear to work. I don't mind wearing used bras as long as they fit me properly. I have many bras that I've spent so much money on and only wore a couple of times.

I'm so grateful for all the awesome finds at the thrift stores near me too.
Especially for finding the sexy ex-con I met who works at the one I checked out last week.
Yummy find.
He WILL be mine. Only for about an hour though.

Never thought I'd be saying this, but I'm grateful for my mom's new boyfriend. :) She said that she learned a lot from me about dating, so she made sure to date a guy with a good job (engineer), a hobby (bowling), and no alcohol/drug problems. It's actually her old high school boyfriend. I'm so proud of her!!! It's the first guy she's dated since divorcing my dad, and it's a HUGE improvement over him.

I wanted to try the pumpkin spiced latte that everyone was bragging about last Oct...
The waiter just gave me one, along with my regular coffee.
Good thing, because that stuff tasted like shit!! :spit: Yuck! I would have been pissed if I had to pay for that cup of crap.
