Any body know how to fix the black screen on OBS? Its just all black for me and never was like that before?

I sometimes get a red screen if my webcam isn't inputting an image. Maybe you need to delete the webcam source and add it again?

I used to get a black screen and then I lowered the Output Video Bitrate and it worked. I think if the connection isn't fast enough to output the high quality it's set to then it just goes black.

I'm so sorry if this has already been answered but I can't find the info anywhere and feeling dumb :(

How do I set up tip animations, tip jars, goals etc. in OBS on chaturbate? If anyone can link me the info or explain I would be eternally grateful <3

Thanks in advance for any replies!!

I found https://tipalerts.com/ is a Free open source program that is compatible with Chaturbate. I don't use it myself so can't walk you through it but check it out!

Edit: I just noticed there is an alert saying the service is now going to no longer be free. Although the tiers are fairly cheap
Started from March 1 we will change our tariffs to following:

basic account (currently free) fee is $5
premium account (currently $5) fee is $10

You can use Streamlabs OBS. Its free to use as a stand-alone encoder. However the apps that animate text and emojis have a monthly fee.

Another option is to create different scenes for regular OBS that have your overlay customs. A streamdeck from Elgato can help organize things and make them appear automatically. I use this mostly for my gaming channels.

OMG! Just bought the streamdeck from Elgato and was in the process of setting everything up for SM, MGC and even CB... What do you think of the streamdeck? I have zero gaming knowledge so I am sloooooooowly learning and I am Hungarian so I have to translate everything in my head LOL! Which sites do you use with Streamlabs OBS? Does it integrate (??) with SM, MGC and CB?

Can anyone tell me the best settings for obs? I'm trying to get it to work with my new logitech brio and blue yeti mic but the sound keeps going in and out. If i shout or make a loud noise i see the sound monitor bar go up, but as soon as it goes down again the sound stops being recorded. Also the picture isn't quite as clear as when using the native brio software.

I wanted to use obs so i could put noise cancelling on and some luts. But i spent 3 hours tonight fiddling and had to give up because of the sound issue :(

^^^ Have you tried running the auto-configuration wizard? When I first started using OBS I set the setting up manually but now I prefer to use the auto-configuration wizard and then just tweak a few of the settings.

I'm not sure what would cause your Yeti to do that. But I currently use VoiceMeeter Banana with my Yeti/obs and it's awesome. It's free, and they ask for donations if you like it. You just have to install the virtual cable to make it work.

If you want very professional sounding audio, check it out. https://www.vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/banana.htm

Here are a couple of vids to set it up, there are more on youtube if you want more detailed setups.

I tried recording a video with the other day but it saves the video in a format that my laptop doesn't recognise...not sure how to change that, if I can.

In OBS, click on settings. Then Output. In the recording section look for recording format. The default is FLV - change it to MP4. This will set your future videos to that format.

I was just going ask this question about OBS and splitcam software. :)

You can use a splitcam software within the OBS encoder. In the drop down box where you select your webcam is where you would choose the splitcam software like Verysoft or Manyvids.

Is it possible to add an additional stream key to OBS for splitcamming purposes??

I love OBS and all of the features but would love even more to be able to add 2 stream keys instead of just one :)

Anybody do this or know how?

Thanks!!

You can either download OBS twice or use a streaming service like restreamio. If you download OBS twice you'll need to change the destination folder and the name of the file as it's installing. Or you can run OBS Classic and then OBS Studio. The trickiest part about running two applications at once is getting both to recognize your webcam. Verysoft can help with that. Or use two webcams.

I use Streamlabs OBS for Twitch and Mixer but I'm not sure if it's compatible with camsites. But Restreamio is. There are tons of YouTube tutorials on how to set this up.

Xsplit is an OBS alternative encoder that also works with Restream (fancy splitcam software). Here's an article on how to get that done https://www.xsplit.com/broadcaster/getting-started/streaming-with-restream#!

OMG thank you so much!! I'll give it a go. I was considering doing the dual OBS but I was worried it would strain my system too much (older MacBook Air). I'll give Xsplit a go :)

I saw this and it looks like its possible to use your phone as a camera source on obs? If someone couldn't get a camera right now and was willing to learn, this would be great. I might play around with it soon.

I came here just to ask if anyone has tried this. I just found out about it. The obs cam and the NewTek NDI camera for iphone. Have you played around with it yet? StripChat allows outdoor broadcasting, so streaming in better quality on my phone would be nice when I take my fans out with me.

I used to go down YouTube rabbit holes, but now I find myself lost in camgirl tech rabbit holes. There's so much information out there.

Is there some way I can save my OBS encoder settings so that I don't have to constantly go back and forth changing the settings when I switch from Stripchat...to MyFreeCams. It's a pain in the ass to have to keep copying/pasting the stream key for Stripchat, and putting in certain Output settings. And then later that night having to put in the stream key for MFC, and changing it to MFC's recommended Output settings. Is there a way to create a Stripchat profile on OBS, and then an MFC profile on OBS so I don't have to keep doing all of this back and forth?

That new OBS update ( 27.2.1) is causing a lot of models issues when they're trying to stream. Uninstall it and go back to using the previous version of OBS (OBS 27.2.0, and see if that works. That's what I had to do. And when OBS prompts you to install the new update, skip it.

Yes!! I spent most of my day trying to make it work right. I had changed some settings but that made it even worse. I'm using Stripchat's own broadcaster now and it's much better. I'm glad it's offered in 720p now. Plus I like that it doesn't disappear when you have to click something else.

I decided to give OBS another try. I completely deleted and re-installed it. I had it so messed up there was no fixing.

Update: I just figured out my problem. I had to change my computer monitor to 1080.

So, I'm using a 2014 macbook pro and the x264 encoder as suggested by MFC, I'm watching a ton of videos on how to best set OBS up. I'm leaning towards 1080p base resolution, 720 output, Lanzos 36 downscale filter, 30 fps, 2 key frames...but as for bit rate- would you suggest I stick with 3000? I'm seeing some tutorials that suggest going up to 6000, and even using 60 fps, but that makes me nervous. I'm on a wifi connection with around a 20-38 upload speed.

Again, this is for MFC

You only need 3000 bitrate for 720p 30fps, anything more than that is unnecessary. As for fps it's possible your camera can't even capture 60fps, but if you really want a higher frame rate you'll need to raise your bitrate too- but it says a few times in the MFC Wiki that it's not recommend.

I know you work on Jasmin so hear me out, what I have discovered, as I also work on Jasmin.
Verysoft Splitter was fucking my camera and I couldn't stream anywhere in 1080p. Jasmin doesn't work with 1080p (YET. On the site, i saw some studio models broadcasting in 1080p, so i guess they will implement this soon sitewide).
Now, OBS has an integrated splitter that lets me stream in 1080p and doesn't even take so much resources. Altough, Jasmin lets me select OBS as a camera source, it doesn't work because the resolution is too high, so my temporary solution was to buy an additional webcam.
It should be here by tomorow, so now I work with one webcam and OBS virtual camera, as a source on other sites, in 1080p. And I will use the other webcam for Jasmin exclusively.
That was the only trick I could do.

As a conclusion, yes, now OBS can be used as a splitter.

^wish I could help gg! I use streamate and there's a virtual cam button in OBS that can also be selected inside the stream window from SM. I wonder if MFC has something similar?

I'm going bonkers right now because I just got back from holiday and now my VB-Virtual Audio Cable is no longer working within the SM web encoder. I can hear my microphone and music from OBS. I love streaming music directly to the stream and not through any microphone first. I'm on Windows 11 and when I do test sounds, the SM web encoder microphone registers, but when I speak it doesn't

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, adjusting settings, setting default communications devices, switching browsers, clearing the cache/cookies, restarting a million times and don't know what to do anymore. going to grab the audio directly from my headset from within the web encoder now and so sad I can't pipe audio directly any longer ugh

I found this virtual audio cable https://vac.muzychenko.net/en/

it was mentioned in the obs forums and it works a treat! it was a little more difficult to set up than the vb-virtual audio cable, but it hasn't messed up once, unlike the first one I was using. there is a one time $50 fee and totally worth it! I initially downloaded the lite version to make sure I could get it to work before upgrading to the paid one

Hello .
I 'm new here and I 'm desperately looking for an answer to the question, I 'm very tired because I watched a lot of videos and used the recommended settings on the sites themselves , but nothing helped me .
I really hope for your help .

I use for broadcasting a MacBook M1 and a microphone Yeti Nano with OBS .

I have the same problem with sound all the time . When I 'm online , my sound is catastrophically terrible , echoes and sounds of incredible creaks can be heard from which blood can flow from the ears . If someone faced the same problem using a MacBook and a Usb microphone, tell you please tell me how you solved this problem?

Hmmmm, have you tried to mute the rest of the microphones in that list? Like the camera microphone? Also, Try to not keep the sound in the audio mixer to the max.... I keep it at -5.3db and it's pretty decent, it removes all the background noise.
I had this echo issue too and this is how I solved it. Not sure if it's the right answer, since you said you looked already on the internet.
OBS can be a pain in the ass, I pretty much have some issues too and idk how to solve them uhh..
