Can confirm. All my girl friends who work there are complaining about it. I had lunch with a friend Monday afternoon and she said Sat night she made $65.

Cabaret has been hit or miss. I had two big days and two smaller days last week, but I'm taking the whole week off for Xmas right now. I'll be back to work Saturday night.

i just moved to new orleans this month, and was hired at rick's saloon last week. it has been painfully slow most nights. i worked last night to scope out the weekday scene, and there were literally 5 (very cheap) customers in the 5 hours i was there. it seems only a few dancers there are making any money at all, and even then not consistently. spoke with a dancer who had been there for several years who told me she had left with less than $100 most nights in december.

i have a couple friends working at barely legal who seem to make more money in general, but it's hit or miss. everyone i've spoken to who has been dancing here for a while has complained that this is the slowest they've seen business on bourbon, like ever. bosses at rick's saloon keep assuring me that business will pick up as mardi gras approaches, but i am skeptical.

for those of you wondering about the hiring freeze, from what i hear it seems to have been lifted at most clubs now.

I just landed in NOLA and have a place via Airbnb until February 3rd. I think I'll want to stay for the remainder of February so if any girls wanna buddy up, I'm down.

Also you guys are scaring the shit out of me.

It's Mardi Gras season. Clubs are going to be pickier than usual. But I can feel your pain because when I got rejected I was hurt too.

I guess the owner took one look at me and said no, but the manager told me twice to come back in a month when he wouldn't be around..

i tried out last night at BL and was denied. i have never been rejected before either, and was kind of crushed. i have heard rumor that a lot of clubs are not hiring now, and some may actually be planning to cut some dancers before mardi gras. i haven't danced on bourbon before this year but have been told it's just like that in pre-mardi gras season sometimes. i would keep trying though. plenty of clubs on bourbon to check out still. i think clubs are still shook from the bust a few months ago too, and are extra cautious about hiring right now.

I worked there around Halloween. It was tough but I made $$. Obscenely high house fees.

Well, hustler took me but it looked dead af. Also one of the floor guys just blatantly asked me out?? Maybe that's normal but where I'm from they would fire guys for that.

Really nervous to meet the GM as I'm a size 8 and I've heard she doesn't like thicker girls. Eugh.

^^ Welcome to Hustler. Ann is the GM and she is strict about weight. Watch out for manager Kevin, he has a drug problem, fucks all the strippers and is very nasty. My best friend works there and said their daytime VIP host has been filling in for the night management due to short staffing. Don't make friends there. I worked there for two years, and its really gone downhill in terms of money and management. If you've relocated I'd recommend losing weight if you don't have any tattoos and trying to get into Ricks or Penthouse. That whole company is drama drama drama with management and floor guys.

Hands down Gary was my fave. I miss NOLA but ghee posts here are discouraging.

Fuck this Mardi Gras. Parades started yesterday, club was dead AF.

Tell me about it! I talked to two customers my whole shift. Walked away in the red. So many damn dancers, so few customers.

Also, BL is getting rid of its policy of $10 house fee if you're scheduled 3x week during Mardi Gras. >:(

I'm thinking of going back to Babe's. Free club means more traffic I'm hoping. I did alright there even as a shit hustler. I always made good stage tips. Also, their rooms are more reasonably priced compared to BL.

Have they started using the bench again or are they still using the two cheap private rooms for lapdances?

Also, anyone know what's up at Rick's Saloon? I heard they are free to work at if you go in before 7. Are they still doing that during Mardi Gras? How's the traffic been there?

Anyone else as scared shitless as me?:-\

I work at Ricks Cabaret, but I have previously worked at BL. Ricks Saloon is doing better, manager George is awesome and working hard on it. Our house fees are static for Mardi Gras but we had around 8 auditions last night, about half delegated to dayshift. I'm hopeful for tonight.

blkheartedjezebel

i work at rick's saloon and sometimes at babes. it has been dead af at rick's post-mardi gras. i've gotten lucky with a couple good customers, but a lot of nights lately people are walking out with $100 or less, myself included. MG was total shit. everyone i talked to who had worked previous mardi gras' said it was the worst they'd ever seen. so many dancers! so few customers. now that MG is over there are significantly less dancers working on bourbon, so it might be a good time to get in a club now if you plan to stay through the upcoming conventions and jazz fest. if you are traveling for short-term work though, beware! it probably won't be worth it.

Jazz Fest is financially insignificant. Conventions are good though.

02-21-2016, 05:26 PM
I just got back from my trip to Nola. I was there from February 11 - 20 with another dancer.

The first night we worked was valentine's day and it was busy and the real estate convention was still going on. There wasn't a lot of girls. I sold 2 hours of champagne room to a drunk realtor and I made $1500 for the night after working about 12 hours.

The second night I worked was last night, and all the conventions were out of town and it was dead. I only worked 6 hours and only made $150. Literally 1/10 from the other night I worked. I worked 2 more nights--one night I only made $300 and the next one I only made $500. I can expect to make $300-500 at my club back home without really trying so I'm thankful I got lucky that one night but I don't think I'll be coming back to Nola for work.

So far it seems like definitely check the convention schedule if you plan on going to nola. A girl named Maria (not sure if that's real name or stage name) that I met at Hustler in Baltimore was in town, we just ran in to her on bourbon st. She said she was working at penthouse and really liked it. I was thinking about auditioning there instead of working at hustler but it seems like there's more competition over there.

Good to know that jazz fest is financially insignificant because my friend and I were thinking about going down.

The first night we were there we checked out almost all of the clubs. Hustler and Penthouse were the busiest. The rooms are more expensive at Hustler but can be harder to sell. Penthouse definitely had more competition than Hustler though. Babes was busy but you definitely have to know how to work a pole to be successful there--we didn't see a single girl that couldn't climb the pole and do tricks on it, and they made a lot of money on stage. You didn't see any of them hustling for dances. Scores had nice decor and all the girls were attractive but it was really small. Couldn't really tell if the girls were making any money or not.

For a hotel, I recommend staying at Aloft--it's part of the W hotels and is super nice. 2 blocks from Bourbon St on the other side of Canal St in a super safe area. Close enough for the bouncers to walk you home.

Hope this helps! I personally am not sure if I will ever go back. Let me know if you have any questions about my trip.

Pinksugardoll
02-21-2016, 11:17 PM
Thank you guys. Yeah I have never had good luck there on weekdays if there isn't a convention in town. So annoying.

I worked jazz fest last year and I worked short shifts and made good money but a lot of customers who were there were like...yeah hi! Thank you so much for talking to us! We are broke hippies and we wanted to check this place out! No, we don't want a dance but you should keep talking to us for free!!!!

It's like the last weekend to make any money. I'm on my way to Seattle from the south and it sounds like I will be avoiding Nola, too bad. There has been really good money there in the past!!
