barely's been dead af but hustler is ok. anybody at the saloon? i think jazzfest is gonna be good this year.
side note: i like hustler and the money is OK but i am getting really weirdly fat-shamed?? and i'm like, petite. it's fucking weird and i've never dealt with it before, i'm easily one of the "heaviest" girls there and i'm pretty small :/ so i might go back to barely just because that one factor creeps me out.

Hmm.The lady who runs things there said she could not put me on until a month from now.Is that true, or she just telling me some bullshit?
And I think Nola cabaret is looking for dancers. What about penthouse, and rick's cabret?

The Vu is in the process of changing alot, so I wouldn't be surprised, But I think many of us are not doing well & rooms haven't been selling hardly at all. Both Rick's & Penthouse are completely out of the question because I am moderate/heavily tattooed. I'm a thick chick as well. Is Caberet NOLA a nice or profitable place?

@ivy love 115 and i'm 5'6. i'm not like, a pole superstar though, so i think that's a factor too. like if i was more athletic it'd be fine. also are rick's cabaret and cabaret NOLA the same thing???

Wow, I'm almost 5'10" and 130, and no one ever said anything to me.
Cabaret Nola used to be Club Eden, in Metairie.

Some friends of mine went over there from Barely and they said that they like it better (seems like there's a potential for regulars), but I can't imagine it being better than Hustler.

yeah. a lot of my friends who went to the saloon from barely (probably some of the same people - lol) like it better but say they don't make as much money.

i just picked up a contract at the saloon last weekend, no one asked me anything about being local. i do know some of the other dancers though so that probably didn't hurt. made basically no $ though - it was UFC night and i think i maybe saw five dances get sold the whole night.

just read someone say they're 115lbs and 5'6" and had issues with weight there wtf?? now i'm slightly worried.
i just booked a room for a week starting the 29th so i'll be there for 4th of july weekend and was hoping to get hired at penthouse. i'm 5'2" and 110lbs, blonde, DD, no tats. i don't do much in the way of pole tricks, stage isn't really my thing. am i going to potentially have issues? i'm also worried this might be a bad weekend to go. i went during thanksgiving with my BF for fun and ALL the clubs were closed except scores, it was really weird.
sorry if this doesn't go here i just didn't want to start a new thread since this one already exists and is relevant

I work at Rick's Cabaret, Saloon will also be closed along with a few others. Essence does not bring a spending crowd. I would move your reservation as you picked one of the worst 2 weekends of the whole year.

Many of us are going to the city council meeting on June 29th to fight this. They're trying to make us employees, reduce operating hours and potentially cut out up to 65% of the clubs on Bourbon.

both ricks clubs are closed essence, i believe that PH is as well although im not sure, and i think Babes is only open for dayshift. The Vu/Hustler clubs should be open as usual along with the scary clubs.

Is NOLA still good for out of town dancers? Me and my friend are hoping to pull up there (strip-trip across the USA) around december or january and wanted to stay for about a month. i've always wanted to dance there and now that it's so close to happening i'm worried that it won't end up working out :/
Athenathefabulous
06-30-2016, 09:52 PM
december is the slowest month in NOLA in my opinion, even slower than summer.
also i wouldnt make long term plans to work in NOLA until you find out what happens with the aforementioned legal problems strip clubs are facing. licensing might be a thing in the near future, and possibly club closures and 3ft laws.

december has always been my worst month, by far, although the very end when NYE crowd starts to come its good again. Then again, i did better last july than busy season, and ive made solid money this june, so maybe Im just a weirdo.
ricks open again on tues i believe. apparently i was wrong about PH and it wil remain open, and someone told me babes was staying open nightshift this yr, i think last yr they told me they were closing at midnigt although i left town so i cant verify.

what do you mean by dust settling? have they actually implemented any new rules or regulations? or are they just in the process of trying to? like how is all that actually effecting things as of now?
i'll be there day after tomorrow and am getting into town kinda late-ish (cutting it close to the window of audition time) so i need to figure out where to go first

Nothing new has actually happened except for raising the minimum age to 21 and that will be implemented in August. Have a good time and make money while you're there.

they are talking about putting new regulations, cutting down on clubs or enforcing existing regulations that would make our lives hell (legally we need pasties and if we are topless to be on a podium raised 18 inches and 3 feet away from customers for the whole state of louisiana. right now its not enforced in orleans parish, its kind of in the same category of sodomy, which is also illegal in lousiana, but an archaic law that nobody follows or should give a shit about)
a heads up there is a swingers convention in town, so be prepared for old fat couples to try to take you home for free. well more than often hah.

did Ricks Saloon accept your dreads? Asking for a friend who im trying to bring with me. i have yet to see a girl with dreads there, but i dont usually work there.
i can definitively say that deja vu and Babes wont give a shit about dreads. The others im not so sure, i have seen girls with dreads at Barely Legal but that was a long time ago. I am guessing that it will also depend on how in shape you are and if you are covered in tattoos/what type of tattoos.
I havent heard anything good about vlive. apparently the girls there pool their tips and hte manager comes and throws money on the stage to try to make it look busier than it is, but you dont get to keep it. i havent worked there though so im not sure.

the next vote with the city planning commission is jul 26, they will vote then whether or not to pass the motion to city council, lets hope they vote no, i think if they pass the motion to city council things will become very difficult for us.
if you are in NOLA and didnt speak at the last hearing, i think that you have the opportunity to speak at the next one, but I'm not really positive on anything, i just got back to town last night. Either way, i will be going, if i hear of anything else I will post updates.

I have plane tickets and a Vaca rental already paid for for August 14th to 21st! I don't expect to take home more then a few grand anyways, but with all the legal issues please let me know if I should change plans! I may go simply bcuz I love NOLA to death tho. A friend who works at hustler as security sais the week is slow but weekends can still be good. I worked 7 shifts and brought home 10 grand during Mardi Gras, even though others said it was awful??!! there were a ton of girls, I worked both BL and Hustler, I liked Hustler much more! BL vip managers are kinda rude and a lititle sneaky, apparently they also get drunk, as I was told to forgive the manager for being unprofessional with me and my customer. Hustler mngmt is way nicer( so far) lol.
Athenathefabulous
07-24-2016, 09:11 PM
yea, i dont think even the top girls are making 10g in 7 days right now. during mardigras that is doable, because there are actually customers all the time. but the weeknights are deeeeeaaaad and the weekend customers are discount tourists (hotels offer a lot of discounts for slow season), bachelor parties who should not drink in this weather, and tourists who are more local (i.e. from lousiana and missisipi here for a weekend, and a lot less likely to drop some serious cash than tourists who are going on a full blown holiday). Its still possible to make good money weekends, or weeknights if you get lucky, but if you are expecting work to be at all like mardi gras, you are going to be in for a bad surprise.
also, its hot and violent. If you can fly here one day sooner, aug 13 is red dress run, that is super busy, and i hear the dayshift is good for that, but i will never work night shift of RDR again (fratboys + daydrinking in the summer is a recipe for disaster, and anyone who actually is still out come night time is a nightmare to deal with), and im too lazy to wake up for dayshift. i hear the girls who are smart enough to work dayshift that day do very well.

I dont think the legislation actually changed after the 7/26 hearing. anybody got info? I read the transcripts and the articles and it seems like nothing changed, but they're still slowly and more insidiously trying to figure out ways to shut the clubs down one by one.
