I too have had a show where I spread peanut butter all over my feet. Thankfully it was actually a decent length show so I felt like it was worth it. But you do have to be careful that you don't do stuff that really isn't worth the energy.

So have you guys never tried Chaturbate (or any other site but Streamate)? It has a very different feel, and I think I've actually earned more there. On Chaturbate you can be naked in the public stream, although you might not want to. It allows for a wide variety of pricing models, and you get a bigger cut of the money than on SM. There are all sorts of apps you can run (I've even written one myself).

"There is no way in Hell I don't look at least 21. Grr." I was dying when I read that.

By fetish videos I mean posting individual videos (five to ten minutes) that would need to be purchased. I enjoy masturbating just as much as the next person but I don't want to get burnt out or have my true sexual life effected by it. I'm thinking of ways to make passive income while possibly not even doing anything sexual. I watched this documentary and this young woman (a webcam model) was sploshing, she covered her entire body in layers of condiments. The funny thing is that she was clothed, all she was doing was rubbing this food over her entire body. In the same documentary I saw the same young lady sitting on and popping balloons, once again she was wearing shorts and a shirt. It had me thinking about how I could be making money off camera while doing things that would not normally be considered sexual.

I've thought about Chaturbate and had decided against it. I think I'll just go ahead and sign up and give it a couple test runs.

The other thing about voyeurism shows that I was reading somewhere is that you could do two shows at one time. For example doing your regular SM show and then running on another account on another site that is dedicated to voyeur shows. Since that's their thing you don't even need to acknowledge them. I have a laptop so I was thinking about making an account dedicated to voyeurism and carrying my laptop around with me while I did my daily business around the house.

Nooot a bad idea... Hmmm....

I've definitely been meaning to try out Clips4Sale, as passive income would be amaaaaazing. I've also been thinking about Chaturbate too, however, the personalized, one-on-one vibe that Streamate has is something I'm good at; I pretty much play it super passive and wait for people to tip or go into a show. I'm not sure if I'd be as good at rocking Chaturbate. It sounds like a more open, crowd-pleasing hustle, rather than conversing and enticing individual guys.

Also, I fiiiinally got approved for Dreamlover today, so we'll see if anything comes of that. I think there are only 12 other guys on the site right now!

Yeah. Definitely this. I had one guy ask for peanut butter, but I'd already had a show with him that lasted, quite literally, about 3 minutes. So, nope.

Also, watch out for getting talked past your personal boundaries. Or boundaries of safety!

That's funny, I logged on so I could tell you about C4S haha. It can be difficult being new sometimes because a lot of these veterans with a wealth of knowledge use acronyms I'm unfamiliar with or they are straight to the point in other threads with other models that have been around for a while. Oh well, It's slowly all piecing together.

I'm glad you've found your vibe so quickly, it seems that many have struggled for much longer than where you are at. The biggest thing that held me back from CB is a vibe of freeloaders. If you're up for it you might want to sign up. I know others have said it in other threads but signing up is insanely fast! To officially be on the website you don't need any info compared to F4F or SM. Last night I signed up for them, all they initially require is basic info (username, password, birth date, email and gender). The last thing you need to receive tokens is age verification which is the same as the other sites (Drivers License and a pic of you holding it). I had submitted my documentation and received a rejection email under ten minutes. I went back made sure everything was tidied up and received an approval email within another ten minutes. Last night I was watching a guy on there and I really liked his hustle. Unlike everyone else whipping their dicks out and going hammer time (another aspect I wasn't digging on CB). He had his goal set to 0/50. The goals were set to x20 pants off x40 underwear off x60 cum show (something along those lines). For the most part all he was doing was hanging out on his bed and having a good time with his custies and talking to them. Every now and then he would start doing a sensual dry hump on his bed or one time he had gotten out of his bed and did a little sexual dance with an ass flash, both times to get the tip ball rolling again. I was switching back and fourth between his page and paperwork/"market research". I had left his page and came back and he was offline. Last I had seen he had somewhere over 2000 tokens and I really don't think he was online long but he also didn't finish his show. I believe he had somewhere around 600 viewers at one time. Anyway, his hustle had me rethinking my outlook on CB.

Congratulations on Dreamlover! I've never heard of them. I ran to wecamgirls.com/resources/camsites but there was nothing on there. I'll do a search on SW after posting this. You might see 13 on there shortly XD. Please keep me up to date on how that site turns out for you Hippy.

If you are interested in starting clips, you can always try recording your privates. If it ends up being a 1 minute peeper you just delete the file. But the longer shows where you actually end up cumming, or whatever that session may be, can become a full length clip you can post. Even the shows that a bit odd (like the above mentioned peanut butter on the feet guy) or different from a normal pump and blast session can turn into awesome extra income. If you have a computer that can handle it, it is a good way to kind of multi task. It is especially good if you have limited time to cam and you can make the extra $ with no extra cumming.

I was just on the Dreamlover thread and one of the ladies was saying that SM believes they own your pics. Any insight on ownership of clips/pics for SM, CB, F4F, DL? Thanks in advance and I'll do my own research as well.

SeanWest

I went with the flow of many of the ladies on the DL thread and set my rates as follows: My number-$4, Text me-$1, I text you-$2. What did you decide to set your MMS rates (if you plan on doing MMS) to Hippy?

Those ladies weren't joking about the sliding scale haha. I found that on my laptop if I scale from left to right and stop one before the option I want, it will scale up that one option.

So far their approval is ridiculously fast!

That video was hilarious, thank you. Although I know it's not true, I believe most men should know all this, unless of course they don't care. And if you're black and your hair looks like chilli meat go down.

I don't remember what I set the rates at. Trying to screw with those little sliders on a small-screened iPhone in a hotel room priced too much of a challenge. I think my number and texting rates are pretty close to yours, and I think the mms might have been a few times that.

I really have no idea what range is sensible. If anything comes of it, Dream Lover sounds like a great way to accumulate some extra change.

Hey you one wecamgirls? You've been at it for a while and seem dedicated so I'm sure you are. I had only been in their cam-site review section till I signed up last night and I'm digging that site a lot. It's difficult that we can't post in CC on here.

Seems like a pain if you post the same pics on multiple sites and probably cutting off a lot of money coming in.

Surprisingly customer support did it with little resistance - I contacted them right after they made the announcement and requested them to be removed/released - initially their response was no that I needed to have a certain number to delete them - I responded back that it was unfair to hold my photos hostage when they made such an abrupt/drastic policy change - that was it - pretty uneventful

Oh yeah, same thing happened to me Nikki. I actually had all of mine removed almost two years ago. Those pictures didn't fully represent my cam persona. Then when the gallery updated a year later, all those pictures came back. I emailed support, and they gave me the same bullshit, need 10 pictures to delete. New policy change. I explained to them I had them requested to be deleted long before this policy change, forwarded them the original email. So I should be grandfathered in, and this shouldn't be an issue, since it's obviously an error on their part.

I got them taken down :D

Personally, I'm not too worried about the Streamate photos thing. I am going to guess it's just so models feel like they can't complain about Streamate using their photos wherever they wish.

Especially since, at least for US copyright law, a work is only made "for hire" if it's one of two things.

1. Created for work by a salaried or hourly employee. Streamate is so VERY clear and adamant that we are all Independent Contractors, that this more clear cut classification is 100% out.

OR:

2. A work created by an Independent Contractor that satisfies all three of the following conditions:

2.1 If both parties, BEFORE beginning the work, agree in a signed document that the works are made for hire. This is the most important condition, and already we run into issues, since this "agreement" is contained in a nebulous blanketing T&C. While courts generally rule to enforce terms and conditions, there is no official federal ruling, and it remains a case by case issue. Especially when the T&C are changed without clear notice, courts have apparently decided not to hold parties to them. So, we can probably count this on as a YES, but only sort of, since we did all sort of agree in a signed document, although generally, and not specifically...

2.2 The work must be in one of the following nine categories. a translation (no), a contribution to a film (no), a contribution to a collective work such as a magazine or periodical (no), part of an atlas (ummm, definitely no), as a test (huh? no), an answer to a test (nope), as instructional text (still no), or as part of a compilation. This last, as part of a compilation, is the ONLY place I could POSSIBLY see our photos fitting, but really, I doubt it. I mean, that would basically classify every online forum or image sharing site as a creative compilation, which... I suppose it's possible to apply this to our photos, but it seems unlikely...

2.3 The work must be either "commissioned" or "specially ordered". Well, this, right off the bat negates "work for hire" from applying to anything you've previously created for another reason, just for starters. So, say you've had and been using a pic for a while, there is absolutely no way to consider it "commissioned" and definitely not "specially ordered." But more importantly when ordering or commissioning a work, the implication is that there will be direct remuneration involved. I'm not sure how that legally plays out in this case, but...

Anyway, my point is threefold.

A. I really doubt Streamate cares too much what we do with our (woops "their") photos off site, I would definitely guess they just want unobstructed access to them, and don't want them disappearing at the whim of the models.

B. In the event that they DO care, I think a DMCA takedown would probably work, but who knows, really. Again, I doubt they care...

C. Finally, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that since, out of three requirements, they have at best one shaky yes, a probably no, and a maybe, that actually taking someone to court over it is NOT something they would even attempt.

That's my two cents, anyway. It's a subject I know a bit about, since I do a bit (and used to do more) of Work for Hire content creation as an Independent Contractor, and I always made sure to have a printed and signed clarifying contract for each and every piece of content, specifying that I would retain all authorship and associated rights.

-------------------------------------------------------

That said, what actually logged on to say, is that Streamate support has been awesome to me.

In the month or so I've been online, I've had four tickets with them, and they have been super swift and super helpful. This most recent one was this:

Last night/early this morning, I had a guy come in, reasonably friendly, ask a bit about my show, what sort of stuff I would do, etc. He then went exclusive with no preamble, and we had a good session for about 7-8 minutes. At that point he started asking if I could roleplay a couple scat-related things. I ignored the first comment, but on the second I gently told him that I could do almost anything else to turn him on, but not that.

He responded by upping the ante and asking for actual scat, (ew, no thanks), and when I again said that I couldn't went back to asking for roleplay. Still no. Duh.

At this point, about 12 minutes in, he left, and rated me one star. Grrrrrrr.

Anyhow, I emailed support about it, and within about five hours they'd removed the rating and let me know. So yeah, I keep reading about support sucking at Streamate, but for me, they keep pulling through, and doing it fast too!

P.S. Sorry for the wall of text! Sometimes I get type-y.

they ( SM support ) have made a TREMENDOUS turn around from 4 or 5 years ago - it wasn't always like this but kudos to them for making the changes and taking care of their peeps

the pic's I had on there at the time were also on other sites - thats why I pulled mine - and honestly I have been to lazy to replace them

You lucked out way better then I did. I actually had my pictures originally removed for me by Vanessa and when the galleries came in they showed up again.

I messaged Vanessa and there was nothing she was able to do about it. I messaged Streamate support and they just continued to give the the whole 'you must upload this many pictures in order to remove the old pictures'

Finally I just got so frustrated after getting no love from support that I just uploaded a sequence of pictures that were taken from a video clip of mine which essential looked EXACTLY the same. :)

This seems to be the type of business model that Chaturbate thrives on. It is definitely geared more towards a large audience of simultaneous lower-paying customers rather than smaller numbers of higher paying customers in private shows. There are useful apps for it:

CrazyTicket allows you to set a price for a private group show ticket and then have the show start when you reach either a specific tip goal or a number of tickets sold. So I could set it up to do a private cumshow at 1000 tokens/10 tickets, and maybe some incremental goals every 200 tokens. Once the cumulative tip total hits 1000 or I get 10 tickets sold the app automatically restricts cam access to ticket holders.

If you can get solid audience numbers this would work well because it's a low buy in price to get the access so people are willing to pay it. I've never been able to get the audience numbers to make it work, though :(

I wrote an app called Make Me Cum for doing edging shows where the price per minute starts low but increases every minute. If the tip jar ever runs out then I get to take a break, but the longer the show goes on (and thus the higher the per-minute price) I would increase the intensity of what I was doing- I was trying to come up with a pricing system that would allow the frugal customers to pay lower rates but that would save the cumshot for a high-paying customer, and also have a psychological factor that would drive further tipping in the form of people hoping they can push me "one more minute" until I cum. I had small success with it but I'm not sure the app is that effective and it still has some kinks in it.

Thanks! If you like it all apps on CB are open-source and available for anyone to use. So if you have a Chaturbate account, you can look it up and try it out for yourself. It's the initial release so it's not quite as refined as I'd like it to be but the basic functionality works. You can set the initial price per minute, how much to increment the price each minute, and how much is needed in the tip jar before the show actually starts.

The app:

If you do use it, be sure to let me know if you have any feature requests/bug reports!

Hey ladies and gents
Just typed this up for WeCamGirls and will paste over here. How's everyone doing?

Hello Everyone!
I'm new to camming. I came across the idea of camming about three weeks ago. Since then and as of now I'm committed to the idea of treating this as a full time job/business. I've been doing as much research about camming that I can with my schedule. But I've now reached that point that the only thing holding me back is myself. By that I mean I don't have any excuses to give myself such as no webcam, no lighting, etc.I had already purchased the C920 which had been delivered last week and my 3 point lighting system came in today.

I'm starting off solely on CB and am in the process of getting signed up for others sites but will be holding off the process till I get a feel for CB. I'm very excited for many reasons and at the same time really nervous. Just wanted to throw that part out there. I'll probably have a drink before I go on.

I will be doing my shows right now mostly with sound off so I hope that goes well :/. Guess I'll just have to try and do this a lot on cam http://www.wecamgirls.com/images/smilies/02_Laugh.png http://www.wecamgirls.com/images/smilies/12_Tease.png http://www.wecamgirls.com/images/smilies/01_Smile.png XD.

I'm sure I'll have other questions but my mind is running at 100MPH. What app and bots do you personally use? Do you change them throughout your show or do you like keeping them set?

I'll probably have more questions but I need to do more research and building my bio and such.

I also wanted to make a note for everyone of what I'm doing for motivation and maybe it'll help someone. Have you ever heard of a dream board? I'm doing the same thing but making a collage on my computer and setting as my desktop background. I'll be adding pictures of the things I want and want to accomplish. Just something I can look at whenever I need some motivation personally and professionally.

If any of you would like to peek your head in my first day on just let me know http://www.wecamgirls.com/images/smilies/01_Smile.png. Any and all support from you all is welcome.

Thank you all for taking a look at my thread http://www.wecamgirls.com/images/smilies/01_Smile.png

@SeanWest - CC may have its history but this thread is really all any camboy needs. I understand the need to keep the guys out, i.e., https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...light=dokturok

I couldn't agree with you more about having a place to keep you motivated and to vent.

Speaking of venting, I'm having a Derek Zoolander moment right about now...

In real life I have a big brite and shiney personality, which comes off as warm and friendly—when I'm bearded. However, when I'm clean cut and act the same way, my joie de vivre has a hard time making it past the angle of my jawline, the shadow cast by my cheekbones and my alluring smile. I grow my beard out because I think it looks sexy and it's fun to play with when I'm thinking about something; I know it is less intimidating than my actual face and it's usually the first thing people bring up when they meet me—guys who can't grow a full beard usually compliment me and I can't help but feeling a tad macho in those moments...I digress.

It's strange how opposite the camming world can be from the real world. Guys pay for a concentrated glimpse at our best features.
I realise my advice to myself would be to either gather a new following of guys who dig the beard or go back to how I've always looked. The trouble is that for as helpful as it is to be instantly objectified at first site online, I actually don't like it in real life, and I've never liked it. I empathize with all my girlfriends who get the same shit from guys on a daily basis. Woe is me right?

Shave it, make a lot of money...get out of the business and grow back my beard as an ode to a pretty face?

Or, redo all my pictures and start from scratch?

Thoughts?

For shorter term goals I like to write out my bills for the month on index cards with the amount due - I break them up and group them in order of importance & due first and write them onto 4 or 5 cards - then I number them with the immediate needs card first etc.... When I log into my sites I pull out a card and have it visible by my screen
This has helped me to stay on until I meet my bills instead of thinking I will make it up tomorrow

Funny you bring this up... I was just considering the whole facial hair dilemma. I have NEVER been clean shaven until I started camming. All my female friends seem to think I look much super good with a good 5-10 days of scruff, and I also prefer my face a bit on the shaggy side. With it, I frequently get compared to a pirate, which is fine by me.

However, my camming friends seem to like my smooth-shaven, youthful, apparently somewhat androgynous look.

What to do, what to do? I'm planning on trying out the fuzzy look for a week or so, to see how it goes over. I'm pretty sure my few female followers will like it, but I'm not so sure about the guys. I'll keep you posted on my personal experiences!

...got frustrated last week, none of the guys were feeling the bearded look (except my most diehard customers)

Meh.

In a dramatic act of frustration, I shaved my face and my privates started to blossom.

Yours in forever rocking the 5 o'clock shadow,

Abe

Obviously those dudes have zero taste. Shame :c

New Topic:Getting new customers to be comfortable.

I've found that there are bunch of new customers who don't know what to expect from cam-models. When it comes down to making a solid impression of what they can expect, it can be tricky to get them out of their shell. They may either have a warped sense of what we do or are shy because they feel a little guilty, like they're a pervert or something. I've had guys ask me how much it would cost for me to meet them and fuck/blow/jerk them off and I had to explain to them what exactly it is I do. I've had other guys who just plain sucked at holding a conversation. We're getting paid to pick up the slack in the conversation department.

Here are two scenarios which I've come across a lot and how I deal with them.

Shy guy: I like to use innuendos to get him in the mood. The context of the situation (in a chatroom with a cam-model) does plenty to clarify all of your insinuations. I like to use food because it's relatable and loaded with innuendos. I first get him to agree that he finds me sexy and then if there's a lull I say that he's only seeing the appetizer. If he takes the bait he'll play along, if not I'll keep going on the food topic until he starts to get it. I ask him if he's hungry (he'll say yes) and then I say that I'm just the sous-chef and I'm at the mercy of whatever Chef _____(insert name, because you always get a name within the first couple lines and write it down) would like to serve as an entrée. Normally he'll say something about skipping to dessert. If not, you can beat him to the punch by suggesting that. At that point you've made the situation easier to deal with from his point of view. Objectifying us sexually is only part of the job
, we're here for their entertainment and/or companionship.

The second type of guy is the straight but curious guy. I like to get these guys worked up and take them private. This was from this morning:

Me: Hey there:-)

C: Hey man!

Me: How's it going?
I'm Russ^;^

C: I'm great. You?

Me: Same here:-)
What's your name sexy?

C: Hey Russ. My name is C....
I'm straight but curious :-)

Me: *my favorite*
I've turned many a straight boy~

C: I can imagine ;-)

Me: No pressure...I won't necessarily usher you into the dark side;-)
It all starts with having a sexy friend to go out with (me)...
and at the end of a very unsuccessful night picking up chicks, we go back to my place...
I say, "It's alright, we'll get em' next time!"
(We're a little drunk)
I bring it in for the man hug...
and tell you how much I like the way you smell
...you reciprocate
I give you a fake kiss with my hand over your mouth
then you kiss me and our scruff tickles each others lips

C: Please, carry on ;-)

Me: You like it but I call it a night and leave you to masturbate about it.

C: No. It can not end that way!

Me: ...you wonder what prickly lips feel like on your cock—so wrong, but so good.
You fight every thought in your mind that this is wrong, but that's only because it's unfamiliar
After a week's worth of sex dreams, you become more and more familiar with how it would feel,
and you would be right.

C: Mmmm ;-)

Me: and then the next Friday comes...
You think you have to make the first move, but you're wrong.
At the end of an uneventful night we go back to my place, but this time I don't play anymore.
I tell you frankly to suck my already half hard member.

C: And..?

C: ...and the rest I'll tell you in private.

Gold shows...worth it? Thoughts?

Personally, I HIGHLY doubt I ever get enough traffic at one time to make it worth it...

Question for y'all, regarding Streamate place rankings.

I experimented with dropping my private rate today, just to see if it would affect the overall conversion rate. (It didn't)

What I noticed, is that, with my standard rate, which is higher than most of the other guys, I seemed to be meandering around the top row of the guys page, which is great (Although not much of an accomplishment, considering how few guys there are on.) However, when I dropped my rate down to right in the standard guys' range, I seemed to drop down to the fifth row, which is where I probably should be, with a crappy old laptop, slow internet, and not having been on in about a month.

So what's the common knowledge here, coincidence, or do higher rates help your placement?

^^ Where the ladies are concerned, I've noticed that most of the top models (shit--I'm in the top 1/3 of page one so maybe I'm allowed to speak from experience now, lol!) charge $6.99+ for premium. Heck, top-top row models who aren't constrained by studio contracts often charge $9.99+ for premium. I'm personally at $6.99/minute for exclusive and $9.99/minute for premium (those peepers piss me the fuck off) and I have noticed that when I drop my rates I also drop in placement a bit. I suspect it has more to do with the algorithm SM uses not having adequate time to adjust to your change in rates/hourly and it temporarily dropping you, but I can't say for sure.

The biggest factor in placement, hands down, is how much you make. After that, it seems to be hours online, followed by technical specs (internet speed, laptop speed, etc.). This has been debated pretty heavily, but I know that when I work at least 90 hours per month, I place in the top 1-5 rows of SM every time. Rates? Hard to say where those factor in.

Huh. I find it odd that they tell us SOME bits of the system, but not the big picture...

Quick question. I'm camming with a craptop and mediocre at best internet. My cam is decent quality on Streamate.

Here's the thing. I've tested the water over at Chaturbate the past two nights, briefly. I didn't stay on long, because my cam was terrible! We're talking frame rates alternating between anywhere from 30 down to 5 fps!

My question is, is this standard, is Chaturbate a good deal more processor/internet hungry than Streamate?

Yes every site has it's own sistem requests. I only do this for half a year but I made some testings and from my three accounts on , Chaturbate and Livejasmin all of them had diferent resources occupied. Livejasmin needs the most resources but it is also an advantage because it has more quality than most of the sites.
