I regret being a hardcore pole enthusiast for 10 years. It made me super muscular in a masculine way, and now that I'm sedentary and have gained weight it looks so bizarre :(

Not taking care of my impacted wisdom teeth due to my fear of oral surgery. My overbite came back, and my alignment is all messed up now because I kept putting that totally necessary surgery off for so long.

^ That surgery is not that bad. I had a fear of the dentist too. I'm over it now and have has clean dental health for over 3 years. Also, about being a pole enthusiast: I'm actually competing in the PSO Nationals in August. I WISH I had a more super muscular physique:-\

Oh man, I can't even watch those videos of people recouping after their wisdom tooth extractions! When I finally did get that surgery I begged to be put under for it because I couldn't deal, lol.

Good luck at the nationals!

For all the teeth regrets; if it makes anyone feel better after my first set of braces I was given a permanent retainer that was welded to the back of my teeth and my teeth still kept moving so much that over time they actually broke the retainer. I figured it was because of my wisdom teeth so I had them all removed....and my teeth still kept moving. Also if it makes anyone feel better I have major acne scars and I never picked my zits and always left them alone.

^^Tons of orthodontists don't leave braces on long enough. In my hometown they would give you a price and payment schedule, then say you're done as soon as they got all their money regardless of whether you were ready. It takes a long time for teeth to settle in to their new position. Retainers definitely weren't enough for me, within a couple months I couldn't even put them back in after brushing my teeth without experiencing a ton of pain. If I ever get my teeth fixed again, I'm going with an orthodontist who leaves braces on for a really long time.

^^The woman who does my teeth cleanings said that there's some sort of fibers around each tooth and how tight/loose they are can determine how likely your teeth are to move back and there's a surgery that they can do where they go in and loosen the fibers to prevent re-shifting. She had that surgery done because after having braces her teeth shifted back.....so she had the surgery, got adult braces and she said that within days of those braces coming off she saw one of her teeth already moving back. Now she has a permanent retainer too. So annoying. The braces I have on now will widen my palate apparently so my teeth will sit in there better, but they made it clear that I'll have a permanent bottom retainer and have to wear a top one for the rest of my life so I guess expanding the mouth isn't even a guarantee.

Some beauty regrets of mine:

Not dressing for my body for a long time. Having bad posture. I've made a lot of mistakes but like Charlie said, I don't regret them because they were basically learning experiences. Or there's things I wish I could have done sooner than I did, but I didn't because I didn't have the money at the time so it's not a real regret. Like I wish I could have gotten my boobs done right when I turned 18 but I mean, I wasn't stripping and had no money when I was 18.

-Not dying my hair blonde sooner...I was meant to be a blonde!

Same.

My current der, keeps wanting me to try Sculptura on my cheeks..

I just did this!

My regrets:

Going white blonde. The stylist fried off half my hair. I was already platinum so it was stupid to push it. You couldn't even tell the difference in the club.

Doing my own roots. It was fine at first, but I was depressed all winter/spring and got lazy. Now I have months worth of bands. It looks fine in the club but that's about it.

Abusing alcohol. I was psyched to lose a little babyfat in my face because I had cheekbones for once. But I developed a drinking problem soon after that and my face was so bloated. It's getting a little better thank god.

Only caring about my weight when I gain a bunch. Thought I had this one under control several years ago, but 10 lbs snuck up on me after I got my boobs. Still working it off.

Definitely smoking and drinking! I still have a drink once in a while but not like I used to, that was just too much, and I'm never gonna smoke again.

Bad eating habits, not eating enough etc.

Too much stress.

I had no sense of style. I look back at how I used to dress and wonder why no one stopped me from walking around in public like that. Even my work outfits from the past make me wonder how I made any money wearing that, must've been my personality.

I look at my wrinkles starting to come in now and I think "I wish I had appreciated how clean and clear my skin was in my teens/twenties" I'm wondering if I'm going to remember this thread in 10years and think, actually, I wasn't so bad!

I regret crawling around on my knees so much on stage! and the state of my feet after 8years in heels!

I've been wearing leg warmers, boots or knee pads (yup knee pads) for the past five years. No knee problems. The knee pads are black patent on the back so I can invert. I wear black patent ankle boots, so when I'm done with stage, I slip them down over my boots. No comments so far. But then...I don't care.:)

I agree, I had braces for 2 yrs and got them removed less than a year ago. They're not perfect, I made my orthodontist aware of my concerns but he replied he doesn't see what I am talking about, my teeth look great and can't be more perfect than that. But I can see it on pictures, my front teeth have a little space, on pictures my top and bottoom teeth are not perfectly aligned... They look better than before I got my braces but definitely not what I was expecting after 2 years and dropping thousands on them.

A girl I work with encountered the same problem. First pair of braces the ortho didn't leave them on long enough, then a couple years later she got Invisalign, the ortho wanted to remove them after a year but she still wasn't satisfied after spending $15 000 on her teeth, she insisted on leaving them on longer and the ortho agreed.

I was excited to have them off after two years, I regret not insisting on keeping them on a little longer.

Ha ha this is me too. I have the misfortune of seeing people in public looking embarrassed FOR me in regards to my outfits or fashion choices.

I regret using tanning beds and being against fake spray/bottle tans. I always assumed they would be streaky and orange so I baked myself in tanning beds for a while. BIG MISTAKE. I haven't seen any sun damage yet but I'm sure I will down the line. Tanning from bottles work just as good and is way cheaper too.

Wearing clothes that were too revealing as a teenager and young adult. And low-rise jeans with my thong showing :shy:

I dont mean to be rude, are you serious about 500 lb? Or you confused and you gained 50 lb.

no lol!!! it was 66 to be exact after just having gained 20 from stopping dancing and just letting myself go... so it was like 86 pounds over my normal weight

Hehe, I can relate-I tried to Nair mine and had a reaction to it-I had a "rash-stache" for days in Highschool (I soon discovered the face bleach ;)).

This might sound a bit gross but when i was a kid/teenagers i used to pick at scabs and now i have a ton of scars all over my legs becasue of it. I tried using scar removers and other things and nothing really did to much to help. Thank god for cover up!

Waisting ridiculous amounts of money on injectable fillers in my early 20's.. I once paid $1800 to get filler injected to look like higher cheek bones, I don't know if they gave me the wrong stuff or it's was just a botched job, but it made NO difference. I was really angry about this but I got no refund.
Everything else I've done I don't really regret, but I've spent a ridiculous amount of money over my dancing career on nails, hair, spray tans, beauty procedures .. You name it, I've done it.. Except anal bleaching, I haven't done that.
Omg I do regret having to get my clit pierced twice because I took it out at my stupid boyfriends request the first time!!!

I have soooooooo many;

1) over plucking my eyebrows

2) picking at acne

3) eating shitty in my late teens/early twenties

4) bleaching my hair

5) getting tattoos. it's costing me an arm and a leg to laser them off (they weren't done poorly, I just grew out of them)

that's why i don't get tattoos. i am not against them at all, but i cannot imagine wanting the same image on my body every day for the rest of my life cause i change my mind all the time.

^ True, I want to change my Dragon tattoo to a mandala. I've had my Dragon since 01'. How does the skin look after removal?

I regret not researching the chemical overload and false claims on beauty products from the day I started using skincare/cosmetics- Witchhazel and Alcohol in cleansers and toners, anyone?

Wait witch hazel is bad?

Gah I keep losing this post! Try again.

I didnt know there are different types of WH, there's an extract and theres the commercial product with a bunch of alcohol in it- I'm certain I've used the 2nd one and that was awful for my skin. I learned this fromfollowing site: https://www.truthinaging.com/review/witch-hazel-skins-friend-or-foe Now my go to site for skincare info is Paula Begoun and she says that either you're exposing your skin to tannins (in the extract source) which are a blood constricting irritant, or to exposing your skin to high level alcohol http://www.paulaschoice.com/cosmetic-ingredient-dictionary/definition/witch-hazel.

So, according to Paula- WH is the devil! (http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/dc/dcedf16fc31ba0c7d65eca8f87102df1960a6403c8f8a1a11f 6c1010c898f622.jpg)

I used this witch hazel toner, very good. Small bottle thought, but lasted very long. Did. Ot irritated my skin.
Heh i spray toner all over my body too:) i guess we all are not the same.
Funny thing, when i dry brushing it is irritating my skin. I get very wierd spots.

God can I write about someone ELSE'S? My friend texted me last night that her cousin bleached all of her hair off in a failed lightening attempt. :( I said 'No way send me pics,'(because I thought she was exaggerating) so she texted me screen caps of the whole saga which was being played out on facebook, it was really sad seeing the situation deteriorate via status update. It went from 'I'm gonna save $300, wish me luck guys! Let me know if you have any tips!' to 'Jeez I'm supposed to let it sit for another 15 minutes but it's already so light...' to 'My hair is falling out and I don't have the money to get it fixed.' The end color actually looks fine to me but her haircut is now all choppy because I guess she had to trim where the chunks fell out.

I don't regret anything I've done super recently but maybe looking back in a few years I will?? Lol.. I do regret just about every possible thing I did to my appearance in my teen years. Trying to lighten my own hair and rocking the orangey blonde brown look, wearing caked on sloppy eyeliner all the time, not taking care of my skin and usually not even washing my face or taking off my makeup at night so I had normal teen hormone acne made worse by not washing my face and then made even worse by caking on pounds of makeup. Blah. I also never drank water and just drank a ton of soda and ate junk food all the time so I looked pretty haggard for my age haha.

Shaving off the baby hair on my nape years ago as a teenager :eyebrow:
It took FOREVER to grow back. I wear my hair up most of the time and it was hideous, the hair was so short and coarse. Can't believe I also wanted to shave off the baby hair on the sides of my face that morning, but so glad I didn't.
