JUST got back and honestly... I am a bit underwhelmed. The cast is really good, especially Donald Glover. Paul Bettany was a surprisingly scary villain after seeing him as Vision. And of course, Emilia Clarke. I might have liked Alden Ehrenreich a lot more if he didn't have to live up to Harrison Ford.

Then there was that bit at then end where... wait, I could have sworn we had spoiler tags here.

if there is one part of the EU ( legends) it would be some of the post endor stuff like courtship of liea, or the thrawn trilogy.....though Thrawn IS canon now, as is pellaeon.... but they came in during Rebels and the way that ended im not sure if we would see thrawn again given what Ezra did in the finale. I WOULD love to see a shadows of the empire based one though between ESB, and RotJ..

id also love seeing old republic...pre Bane. Im a sucker for the old stuff that delt with exar kune and the Qel-Dromas and yeah the revan era

random factoid. Revan was slated and even modeled to appear in the clone wars series....however dave dropped the idea after debating how another ghost would sort of be too much at that time in the series, and George came in and wanted to call revan " darth icky" which he ALSO pitched for starkiller in force unleashed, years earlier and was dead serious about it as a name

Ok this is deep nerd. However, Bane is my favorite sith.

Does anyone else play Pokemon go? I'm on level 25 but only by walking, catching and evolving Pokemon. I don't have any idea how to do the gyms or raids. My nephew when he was 5 or 6 had to show me how to do the eggs :-[

i actually still play, and there has been a ton of updates, and some big ones coming so i tend to still play with those or when there are special events ( like the current water festival ) Gyms and raids are pretty simple. when you start a battle against a gym or in a raid, you select which pokemon you want to use in the fight ( i THINK its3 or 4 you can use i actually forget at the moment.) ...now some types of pokemon do better against other types, like a bug type can do x2 damage against a grass type etc... as for actual battle, swiping left or right is how you try and doge attacks...i personally am constantly in motion - tapping the pokemon your fighting is how you to your basic attack, pressing and holding a moment will use a special attack ( you'll see your energy bar building up over time, when thats full you can use a special attack)

gyms can take a while say... you attack a gym of a rival team. you will have to battle more than a few times to whittle down that gyms standing before you can officially kick everyone out and take them over. OR you can battle a gym of your own team to help build UP the gyms prestige/level which will make it able to hold more people/pokemon to defend it, and the overall difficulty for others to take it

( i personally like taking small gyms in out of the way or rural places where im not likely to be dethroned anytime soon, so i can build up how many coins i earn so i can blow my coins on new outfits >.>

raids are basically like gym battles except your up against one REALLY powerful pokemon. the game will tell you how many people teaming up is ideal for the raid.. as soloing some are nigh impossible - but the mechanics are pretty much the same as a gym battle.

Just hit level 33 yesterday, which took forever.
Not a lot of gyms in my immediate area; I have to drive about fifteen minutes and hope it's worthwhile. I have a few cartoon monsters powerful enough to hold a gym for a little while.
I can't do most raids because there's never anyone else playing the game. I'll be at a park packed with families and no one will help me. Luckily, it looks like they're using the new quests to make up for that.
Currently: working on getting enough whale guys and cotton swab guys. Also must make time to get to a lake during the water event and stock up on magikarp.

Thanks you both! I live outside a big city and there's tons of gyms everywhere, even in the suburbs, and raids going on near me all the time. Maybe I will just follow the map through the app and show up at one soon.

^^I didn't think it was as mesmerizing as the first season, but season 2 was very strong philosophically. A couple of "throwaway" scenes really hit me. Nothing in that show is wasted.

The season 2 finale of West World was the best episode of the entire series. IMO of course :) Its not my favorite show and Ive had to force myself to stick with it. My husband loves it and likes to talk about episodes afterwards. If it weren't for that I would've abandoned it long ago.

What I liked about the finale was the fast pace that answered so many questions. Things came together and were less abstract. I like cerebral films/shows but not if the creators are trying too hard to be intellectuals. For me the effort was so great that it came off as being dumb in many episodes.

I comprehended part of the plots but not all of them.

1. Ford promised a free world for hosts which turned out to be a digital world. A few hosts entered the digital world. Considering they are digital mind from the beginning, they can be recalled into the production anytime. Unless Ford deleted the connection to that digital world.

2. Digital backup of the guests' minds. Some were deleted, what about the rest of them?

3. Bernard, Dolores' minds escaped to the real world and ready to produce more robot hosts in the real world or a place that Ford prepared for them. What was Hale supposed to be?

4. Old William killed his real daughter in Westworld and left Westworld as a real human. Later, he created Emily as a host that oversees his own host copy experience trails. This part was what confused me. Are they in the real world or another Westworld?

5. Dolores wanted freedom and now she has it. What is season 3 about? Delos observed guests and their intention must be to release guest like hosts into the real world too. ?!

Maybe you nerds can answer some of my questions. Interesting show for sure.

Since it's from an official HBO video with Nolan and Joy, I'll spoiler text this.

The post-credits scene with The Man in Black...

...takes place in the "far, far" future.

But who knows what that means. A hundred years? More?

Nice micro-documentary about the rise and fall of Toys R Us:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mNSPl4YsQQ8

One of their biggest mistakes was moving from the colorful, castle-like design to the generic white brick-and-mortar store look. When I was a kid, Toys R Us was a magical place.

And that shot at 3:08... my God.

Anyone here play WOW and would like to explain to me at least 1 of 2 things?

1. Why is the battlenet site always down? Or is it just me? Two days I've tried to buy a subscription and the damn site won't load.

2. Why do Steam downloads take so damn long? I'm just getting into pc games and have been a console person my entire life. I had no idea.

Yup Ive done all the steam tricks with:

changing the download server.
stopping diaglist thingy in task manager
I'm hard wired
I've set priority for steam in task manager
its set to no limit and not throttled
My internet speeds would allow communication with Martians

Is it just certain games on Steam? And is WOW always down?

But the past two days have been so annoying I had no idea getting setup would take so much time.

Never tried red dead. Westerns make me nauseous. I think it was all those years being forced to watch Bonanza and Gunsmoke at grandma's house.

Nah, I'm talking about the newest one. Where Kratos has a kid. I loved the originals and can't wait to see how this one plays out (pun slightly intended).

RDR 1 was a lot of fun, but it was too big for me when I played it. I found myself getting bored and finally just did story quests til I beat it. Hopefully RDR 2 has more spice to keep things different and new.

Amazing! I read about how he played it and campaigned to be him. I can't believe he's going to do it. Also, please read the books - totally different from any other fantasy (JRRR Tolkein, JRRRR Martin, etc). And the fact that the author is Polish gives a bit of authenticity to the cruelty and the medieval setting - there are still echoes of those cultures in modern Poland.

Trust me you need to play this game.

Okay, here's an nerd question:

So, are Klingon and Elvish considered to be real languages like Esperanto? :)

I would say they are real in that someone created the language, but people actually speak Esperanto. People learn Elvish for a lark.

Incidentally, Tolkien created Elvish they way other guys whittle or whatever other useless hobby in a wartime setting. As a way to take your mind off the German guns of World War One. He created it in the Trenches. It was strictly to occupy his mind in downtime during WW1. My Dad said there was a guy in Vietnam that would carve baseball bats with a combat knife, Soldiers get THAT bored in downtime in a war setting. Tolkien just did what he knew.

The Klingon guy just did it to sell a book.
