It’s such a nice day. The pool party is great, I’m actually getting along decently with everyone, everyone’s having a good tone, and I really have no excuse not to be, but my mind isn’t really here right now… it’s in Khost Province, and especially after reading the news the past few days, I’m struggling to come to grips with the realization that it was all for nothing.
Hugssssss
Random Thought- dinner was delicious.

I'm going to have to go back to fbsm full-time once I make my escape at the end of this month. It's my only option to be able to afford childcare costs. I can't afford it on any in-person vanilla job out there right now.

I’m so thankful I have two appointments today. I didn’t wanna go to that pool party. I feel like he has numerous pool parties a month! Geeezus! I don’t even have a bikini nor do I wanna buy one. I’d just go in my sleepwear. I have very little clothes I purchase or wear nowadays.
I’m having a chemist drive me to my appointment and her husband died 2 months ago as well as getting laid off from work. Good grief, I feel for her.

A paid survey company that I belong to told me that I'm the winner of their $250 gift card drawing. I never win anything so naturally I'm skeptical. I'll believe it when I see it but my hopes are not high.

I hope it's legit, and that you did win! I use the app Fetch Rewards to scan my receipts on my phone, because I like to enter their sweepstakes for the prepaid VISA gift card.

School has started.
Yeah. :)
This batch of days with J and daughter is going to be so much easier than the last visit.
There were some times in there I was really wondering about needing to leave him ect.
It was really just related to time management though. Growing up in my house kids were not ever really allowed to be home all day !
That same style carried on with me ( I am now learning ).
I am also learning to mitigate it myself ( planning my own out of house stuff a few hours ).
I'm just really glad we had a nice weekend to ourselves and THEN today and tomorrow school hours ! :)
My partner is really lucky. He works from a computer and I'd say on average he does 6 hours a day 5 days a week M-F.
He *thinks* since he has no commute and a shorter than normal week he doesn't need assistance in the day.
Then he gets SO frazzled every time.
DUH ...... those are YOUR work hours. Protect them dude.
Anyway ..... this should be a wonderful change.

When you get a feeling that someone is going back to their old ways. If that is true you know you will have to cut ties.

I read about how our brains pick up on stuff subconsciously that we consciously try to talk ourselves out of when we can't point to anything objective or obvious to back up our intuition. But they've proven time and time again that, especially if you learn to pay attention and hone this sixth sense, it's often based on objective, subtle shifts. So i would bet you're right about what you're picking up on. I've felt this so many times in the past and really wish i had paid more attention... denial can be powerful, too.

^ I have also had a "sense" . When I accidently dated a Narc. and he was still faking things good enough not to give an obvious red flag I felt a " bad energy " is his home. At one point I was going to check property records. I thought someone might have died there or something . That feeling happened literally before a single conscious thing I could point to .

It appears my vanilla websites ( I have four ) are finally back in googles good graces.
Omg what a mistake to share a hosting plan for all of them. :/
The hacker that got to them was literally re-routing things to viagra based websites. Wtf.
Things like payment processing ( what you'd THINK they would want ) wasn't even touched.
They don't have their decent ranking anymore but at least they are getting pulled up again *somewhat* in searches.
I have a few leads .
J pulled them apart .
I think he put the two main ones on their own hosting .
He has done a lot to help.
During Aug. 2020. - June 2021 range I didn't even look at them ONE time.
When I was receiving pandemic assistance it was party time lol because my bills were low enough to live off it .
Opening them and taking a look would have been wise. It's been a lot of work sorting this out. :/

One of my neighbors has a huge Rottweiler. They put some things next to the fence, and he realized he can get up on them and over the fence. Fortunately, this dog is a huge teddy bear. He comes over the fence, it’s because he wants to play with Beagle, or we’re grilling and he’s hoping to mooch (mea culpa for facilitating it) , or because he wants to be everybody’s friend. The new girl is absolutely terrified of dogs, or at least large ones. She’s warmed up to Beagle somewhat, but of course Beagle is a smallish dog. I went onto the back porch a little while ago to find this dog had jumped the fence yet again, and the new girl was against the wall with this dog leaning against her and whimpering for her to give him pets, and she’s just kinda frozen. So I grabbed a couple treats and called him over then let Beagle out so they’d go in the yard and play, then she went back inside.

I’ve never seen Rocky Horror Picture show, so some people are taking me to see it Saturday. Talking to my former roommate this morning, he told me, “Don’t wear your Sunday best and bring a parka or poncho or something”, but didn’t elaborate on that. Anyone care to tell me what he knows that I don’t?

Rocky Horror geeks like to bring specific food items to throw at certain times during the film. I don’t know the exact details but it’s stuff like when Frankenfurter says X, they throw toast, when Janet says Y they throw hard boiled eggs, etc.

I quoted this day job thing at $1500 in Jackson Hole WY.
At least $500 of it is basically the effort of getting there ( and knowing I'd have to say 40 minutes south of town because I can't afford to stay in town ).
2/3 of the quote is what I would actually be doing.
I do hope they buy it ( it's at the end of Sept ) but I have that " sales " sense and it's been sitting in a non-responsive state for 24 hours.
Part of me wants to panic and be like " I'll give you $200 off ! " but I went up there in June and holy fuck is it a difficult place.
Of course there is no strip club ANYWHERE in the vicinity either so down time in just lost in a black hole and not put to use at a club.

I have adopted the (bad) habit of starting doing job related things after my partner has gone to bed. It often gets too late, and it's not the best way to prepare for a good sleep.

I'm getting Karen-ish in my old age. I got annoyed at someone's GoFundMe for burial expenses. Most people should think about setting aside savings for at least cremation. It's the least you can do for your friends and family.

^burial insurance is super cheap for most people.
I agree.
Unless you’re broke af, mentally challenged, homeless then you could afford $10 a month burial insurance.
Many employers subsidize life insurance so it’s really cheap or even free. But you have to sign up for it and many people making hardly anything dont want more money coming out their check even if it is only 10
problem is a lot of people are either too ignorant or too selfish to care what happens after they die

Rocky Horror was certainly… different. Came home and Beagle went absolutely apeshit. I didn’t introduce her to peanut butter - that was S’s doing, And this dog is super excitable. Once she starts doing the zoomies, you’re either going to capitulate or else you’re in for a lot of irritation.

I realized I need to make some new friends in this area.
I moved here during the pandemic and J and I were super cautious ( well he was .... I was still sneaking to restaurants and openly going to yoga / gym ).
There were not many social options . People were not getting together in early 2021.
Vaccinations started getting common here in May and early June so NOW it's just laziness on my part and it's not " the pandemic " .
I would love to have a friends group to just grab brunch or a drink with and it's time to get started making some connections.
I need TWO sets of friends really. I want child free friends ( I'll have the most in common I think with this group ) and I need a casual friend or two around the age of J's kid who is organized and on top of scheduling the way I am.
To get started I joined a FB group for outings in the area ( a FB based meetup type group ) .
I also signed up to volunteer at an arts organization ( pre-pandemic I was involved with one for years ).

My social life is impaired right now too due to relocating for work every 3-4 months. I’ve been in an existential crisis lately over feeling like I need to put down roots but I think I’ve finally come out the other side of it. I’ll settle down when I find the right place for me and in the meantime my current lifestyle is a blessing that not many people get to do.
I’m in Maryland right now and it’s a surprisingly fun/social place! Which is especially nice after spending 4 years in frosty New England (referring to the people, not the weather, I love the cold!) It’s kind of trippy to me how even though it shares a border with PA and has a v similar regional accent, it feels distinctly Southern to me whereas Philly/NJ are unequivocally Northeastern. After this I plan to spend the winter in New Mexico and then go to Alaska next spring.
Last night I went to a full moon releasing ceremony. At one point the woman leading the ceremony said something about following the path you’re called to will lead you to your destiny. That really helped pet things in perspective for me regarding my aforementioned existential crisis. I was like “yo I got this. I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to right now by traveling “.

I think I'm going to try to do yoga/light stretching exercises daily. Hopefully it will make me feel better, physically and mentally. I think it would be so good for me to get a healthy routine going.
Yes!!
I'm getting kind of desperate for a yoga studio. The last one i tried seemed good at first but ended up being more of a beginner's studio... they didn't offer any direction to students, which always causes me to lose interest pretty quickly. A little too laid-back for my preferences.
There's a studio opening up just a mile away from my house, which would be a dream... I've never had a studio this close. I'm trying to keep my expectations low. New studios can be a big gamble, and it might be more of that community / relaxed style instead of the more advanced / technical style that really keeps me engaged. I dearly miss having a regular yoga practice, as i cannot motivate myself to stretch at home or in the gym. Yoga makes me feel 5-10 years younger when I'm doing it regularly...

Same! I went to yoga for the first time in a couple months this morning. I can go Monday-Thursday evenings to the free classes at the gym. If I go straight from work, it's easy enough to just go instead of stopping at home. But when I'm at home, it's harder to motivate myself, even though the gym is less than 10 minutes away lol

There's a house for sale RIGHT where we want to live, that is exactly the right size and layout that I'd like, remodeled, and (while a little expensive) not nearly as expensive as it could be for the size and the current market. If only it were available in another 1 1/2 - 2 years... Maybe it will be.
