" I'm coming back from the conference at 3 p.m. "
It's already 10. I expected a completely quiet hotel room at 9a.m. until 5pm!

I'm super impressed with this double tree hotel.
We have a fridge / microwave . J was worried it wouldn't be " nice " enough but it is the hub of his work trip.
It's very nice and I love that room basics are not missing ( like every Vegas hotel ). Ha.

Why do celebrities talk, first of all, lol. Seriously, there were news the other day, that Angelina Jolie was in Ukraine to see people there and shit. I know she's humanitarian, but I hate those cringe PR pics where she's hugging with people and bla bla bla. I mean, let's see you actually doing something relevant, as in coming there and living at the borders, donating money, helping money raising and being present there, carying bags of food, clothes, spreading to people, helping them find a shelter, helping them find a source of income, etc. Actual work and implication, not 3 pics surrounded with kids and mothers.
I prefer Elon Musk, he sent internet satelites there and that's it, job done, now he has fun trolling on twitter. He didn't go to take pics and squeeze a few tears to show his pain.

If I'd be a celebrity, I swear the whole Hollywood would hate me, for how real I am. I'd be the sexy female version of ricky gervais :))) I love making fun of myself, I never get offended, I'd make them feel like shit and give a huge reality check. Uhhhhhhhhhhh!! :)))))

This is why I have a lot of respect for Bethenny Frankel. She raised over $20 M for Ukraine and is boots-on -the-ground feeding people, providing aid, etc. She is there to do practical things to actually help people. It's not a PR stunt.

I got into my IT program! I have a short course of pre-work to do before they'll officially enroll me, but I should start in September, November at the latest if the Sept. cohort fills up before I finish my pre-work. I know IT support doesn't pay amazing but I'm sure it starts higher than I'm making now and could lead to other things if I'm interested.

sneak into Ukraine somehow.
The impression I get is that sneaking isn’t necessary. At this point, my concern in doing it would be to convince a certain jackass it’s time to come home. The problem with that… last time I talked to them, that conversation ended with me under the impression that it was everything they ever wanted.

^ Facebook is definitely owned and censored by a man. I got a warning for posting in a pregnancy group on there while I was pregnant that I'd kick BD's ass if he called me fat while pregnant. I was commenting on another lady's post she made about her husband calling her fat and putting her on a strict diet while she was pregnant with his baby. Then I got banned for 30 days for making a comment about how bullshit it is that if a woman wants her tubes tied, there's all kinds of unnecessary mandatory consultations, 30 day waiting periods, and another 2 months of waiting just to have the surgery finally scheduled. Meanwhile if a man wants a vasectomy, he can get one asap probably even next day, without any mandatory waiting periods or multiple consultations. I said fuck the patriarchy and male privilege and got banned lol.

Random thought today is for myself and whoever it may apply!
I got up this morning and feeling so blessed for another day of life. It's so easy to wake up and be in a bad mood and allow that to follows me through my day.
Some days are harder than others but I have to DECIDE that today I'm gonna have a day good and make the best of it.
I don't want everyday to be a therapy session because it doesn't have to be nor do I want to be other people's therapist.
That's not healthy and I don't want to be my own or someone else's emotional vampire.

Pfff, I want kids, but I don't want them yet, but clock is ticking. I have the partner and 2 sets of grandparents that can't wait to help us with and everything. Meanwhile, I turn 30 this year and I don't wanna have them later than 30, but in the same time I wanna wait a couple more years, but in the same time, ugh... My mom had me at 18 and it's sooo cool to have a mom in her 40's now and me and my partner feel sorry we didn't make kids 10 years ago, now they would have been all grown up like our friends kids. They have kids ranged 8-13 yrs old and they are so cool. And we gotta start from 0 :)))) Damnit :))
My head is spinning.

I’m in my mid thirties and I’ve kinda just figured out that my real phobia is being pregnant/giving birth. Would like to go the surrogate route, I have conditions that would impact being able to carry anyway. So I gotta do something about it but have so far managed to avoid the clock ticking. All this upheaval in reproductive health will probably turn my plan upside down, I’ve lived my life saying no kids and meant it, that I can be at peace with that if that’s how it goes.

Ever notice how guys who like drawing dicks on things get real squeamish when it’s done to them?
We had training for one of the community colleges today, so a bunch of 18 - 22 year-olds (with a few that were older). As I was walking to the conference room with their instructor, we heard a bunch of laughter in the conference room, and when I walked in, it was obvious they weren’t expecting a woman. One was up by the whiteboard and had drawn a bunch of dicks on it, so he ran to his seat when I came in. So I said, “A class full of dudes and you get a kick out of dicks, no? Must be excited for Pride Month. Mind if I join in on the fun?”, then I drew two dicks crisscrossed against each other and said, “Look, they’re sword fighting!”, then erased part of one and redrew it limp and said, “Ope, this one seems to had a little accident. Why isn’t anyone laughing? I’m making a big funny here”. So then I drew a couple really tiny ones and said, “Does this make you feel better represented?”, and that uncomfortable silence remained, so I asked them, “Is this like when your parents get into something you’re into, and it’s no longer cool anymore? Has your interest in phallic drawings waned? Grand so, then, we’ll get to our electrical training”. But before I started my presentation, I pointed to the kid who was at the whiteboard when I came in and said, “Hey Picasso, get up here and clean my whiteboard off” and as he was about to wipe it off, I called his name, snapped a photo as he looked at me, and asked his Instagram handle so I could tag him. And when he just stayed mute, I said to him, “Cat got your tongue? Are you not proud of your artwork?”, and this kid was going pale.
There’s something eerily satisfying in making a room full of ~40 dudes so uncomfortable that they just go mute by simply playing their own games against them.

This is all funny until the pic part :))) I was having fun with my class mates in school, drawing dicks. It was enough of my desk mate to look away, cuz the next second they'd have a big dick drawn on their notebook. Same happening to me :)))) Idk why drawing dicks was so funny for teenagers. I am sure I wouldn't have loved to have an adult taking me a pic and wanting to put me on the internet. I'd have gone mute too LMAO. Honestly, even today drawing dicks and fart jokes are extraordinary funny to me :)))))))))

My period is randomly pretty late or skipping? this month. I used to have a really irregular period when I was younger, but it's really evened out the last few years, so this is odd. Especially since I know I felt the PMS symptoms like normal the week before it was due. The only time it ever got weird and I missed one was when I had Covid. Weird. So, now I'm wondering if I'm sick or if something's wrong. (And no, absolutely no chance of being pregnant)

I saw these cool wooden planters for sale on Craigslist. They said handmade by a carpenter I was picturing some middle aged or elderly retired man who did that as a hobby and when I got to the address he gave, I was sure that I was right because it was a wealthy subdivision. I showed up and a woman was outside in the driveway. I said that I was there to buy the wooden planters. She led me to the garage and a little boy came out of the garage. It turned out that this boy handmade them. He was busy making more wooden planters when I walked with her to the garage. That was unexpected.

I am watching TONS of true crime podcasts on YouTube, and I swear to God, everytime I watch this shit, I think of my husband's family. All the cases I'm watching involve kids (I'm not sure why, I find them upsetting but I also cannot look away?), and it makes me think of my husband's one cousin who had two kids: one she took down with her to Southern IL and abused, then got rid of her via family. When she lost the benefits (cash aid, food stamps), she tried to get her kid back, but it was too late.
The other kid she had with this weird man, and he still lives in Southern IL with his dad; no one brings him up, she never goes to see her son...it is very weird.
Then I go into mama bear mode, thinking of how I have to keep my kids away from my husband's monster family, although no one has bothered us for a couple of years now. I swear watching this shit makes me go crazy, but these podcasts just further illustrate my belief that really shitty people are all around us and they hide in plain sight.
ETA: I swear to god, in most states, CPS/DCFS/Child Services DOES NOT want to step in when there is real, actual abuse. I could go on more about this but I won't right now, but CPS doesn't truly give a flying shit when horrific things are happening, in my opinion.

I have bad news, nowhere in the world the child services don't really do much. In fact, there has been a scandal about this in Germany or Austria, I think, where, for 20 years, they were giving kids for adoption to pedos. And all kind of atrocities.
If you want to protect your kids, talk to a lawyer to help you with a legal form of protection against that side of the family and define some really trustworthy people (basically spiritual parents/ legal guardians) to take care of them if something ever happens to you+ build a money fund that only and only your kids can access it when they are adults. Maybe even buying an apartament on their name that cannot be titled on anyone else's name. I'd rather invest money in a roof over their head than college fund. Screw college and those insane prices, a house is more important.
I don't know what else to think of...

Thank you Cutie, those are actually really good ideas. I agree, I'd rather they have money for a home than go to college. The traditional idea of living at college for four years is so unsustainable and not even worth it to me. If they want to do college, online studies would be better.
As for building trust funds and getting help from a lawyer, that's something I'm hoping to tackle this year. The older I get, the less I trust people.

Honestly, expensive colleges are overrated in US. First of all, even if you graduate a top college, you have no guarantee you will perform into that field. Nepotism is real everywhere on this planet so... we all know that if you don't know someone, that knows someone, that can reccomend you, you pretty much look at your diploma and it will be the most expensive toilet paper you ever owned. Very few make it on their own, but even those who do it, are being seen by the right someone, at the right time. I wouldn't bet some hundreds of thousands of $$ for this :))
Talking from an European perspective (I graduated 2 colleges and the cost was about $1000 a year or something, that's because I didn't have top grades to be completely free). And many of my friends graduated medical school in my country, for almost free and then some became doctors in US without having to pay extraordinary fees, maybe took some extra steps, building a solid career in Europe for a few years first, but definitely didn't have to go to an american medical college and spend so much. The teaching methods are kinda same everywhere, especially in Europe, north and western Europe have amazing colleges and there are plenty of educational options.
I hope you take the right steps, definitely nowadays priorities are changed and education can be achieved anytime, but a place to live starts to become a wet dream for the upcoming generations...

Coincidence that you mentioned this.
I was just thinking about it, as I was driving over to UPS to return something ( they even printed the return label, because I didn't receive it in time.)
Anyway, I got an email from Amazon commenting how I've been returning several items and how they are never in the original packaging.
Huh?

My sister has fallen under the influence of the ‘country swag’ crowd. I grew up in a small town as well, but in a way of life pretty removed from pop culture, and the band which made me realize I loved music wasn’t a bee-haw band, it was Siouxie and the Banshees, then another classmate introduced me to hXc bands such as the Dicks, Poison Idea, TSOL, etc. (expecting it to freak me out), and it just clicked with me.
My old roommate (the one I’m wanting to get the hell out of Ukraine before my friend makes her trip to Denver) grew up in a backwater in Mississippi, and on the subject of why he didn’t embrace it, he’d say contemporary country singers make it sound like a good, carefree life and that if they’d come from “the same ‘country’” he had, they’d be singing about meth labs, hopelessness, alcoholism, domestic violence, and heroin addiction.

I haven't yet experience that. They always give me options where I want to take it to and if I needed to package and label anything. Once I handed them over to UPS I get a copy and I'm done.
I don't give a fuck if UPS employees want to keep the package, lol.

I kind of think that top 40 country is a form of propaganda, it brainwashes people into glossing over the very real problems in modern rural/small-town life. Plus a lot of it has this "rebellious" edge to it while not actually standing for anything at all.

Yeaaaa lol this was me for a few years but I've kinda come around to the idea of doing IVF when I'm 40 if I haven't met a quality partner by then. When I was younger I always thought I'd adopt a couple kids in my 40s, then the biological clock hit me hard from like 30-33. It's still mentally difficult at times but it's so liberating that we have all these modern options now!

^ 90% of the time I'm comfy with my no kids choice. :)
It's hard sometimes because I'll see my niece and nephew do something cute but then I remember .... my sister is just absorbed in this ALL the time.
I LOVE my time to myself.
I love it SO much.
I think even early in life ( teenage years and 20's ) I envisioned myself as a " power couple " with a partner !
I sort of have it now but my partner has a child 45% of the time. :/
So it is modified now to include scheduling for that .
Luckily I have free reign to include myself in their schedule or not. I can also just take off somewhere during the visits and my partner is ok with that as long as it isn't excessive ( I assume he would not like it if I was gone 90% of the time during the visits ).
I remember when DINKS ( double income no kids ) was a term like 15 years ago and I'm like " yes that is the best option in life ".

Agreed! IVF or adopting are other options. I hate when people say "you're single and you have no children?" to me like I'm gross for not being on the same path as others. Some people take longer than others to have kids.
Anyways, my dog is going on his birthday walk I paid for with a dog walker LOL. He's so large and old that it's not gonna last long. I'm having this woman walk both my dogs because my pit bull will turn into NEEDY mode if he doesn't go with him. hahaha

I kind of think that top 40 country is a form of propaganda, it brainwashes people into glossing over the very real problems in modern rural/small-town life. Plus a lot of it has this "rebellious" edge to it while not actually standing for anything at all.
Meth Storm, a documentary from HBO shows how crazy poor it is in some areas here in the south. But I grew up in a rural area (near there actually) and while I saw poverty like that first hand, I was never exposed to domestic violence or drugs so it can be a mixed experience. I'm not a country fan, but I think people just like what they grew up with or identify with.

Agreed, thanks to modern medicine women are able to have babies later and later. The clock hit me too though; I never cared about having kids until my late twenties through early thirties (I still wasn't DESPERATE for kids though), and then as of like 2 years ago I randomly shifted back to completely not caring. I think my body was like 'okay she's not going for it, let's just wrap it up.'
