Trying to update my resume and write a cover letter for a job at my sister's company. I don't even know if I should bother. I'm not qualified for it in the slightest, and just hoping for a shot because she's well-liked there. I'm already discouraged by finding out that, despite being more than I make now, it still isn't great money and would require me to stay at Amazon part-time. It would be experience in a new field that I would otherwise never get into though, so I may as well try. I hate re-tailoring my resume to new jobs though. So tedious. Especially since my resume isn't particularly impressive (or honest, considering the huge gap for sex work that I have to lie about).

I’ve started recording scratch tracks for my next album. This one, I’ll bring in a keyboardist as needed, but I’m trying to make it as entirely my own work as possible, so I’m doing all songwriting, all arrangements, all instruments (guitars, bass, drums, violin and flute on the tracks which have them).
This one, I’m submitting these tracks to a couple different labels, because that’s going to be quite a bit of studio time, doing it all myself.
1: Mourning Hours
2: Wishing We Were Dead, Pt. 1: The Hanged Man
3: Wishing We Were Dead, Pt. 2: The Lovers
4: Wishing We Were Dead, Pt. 3: The Tower
5: Chrysanthemums
6: Adrift
7: All In Vanity
That’s what I narrowed it down to out of 13 I’d originally penned.
Costco has these all natural jerky treats, and Beagle goes absolutely nuts over them. I think it was ~$14 for the bag. I bought it a couple weeks ago, but didn’t open it until yesterday. She gets super excited when she knows she’s about to get a treat and sees the bag being opened, but she knows I don’t like her doing the zoomies indoors, so she’ll stay in one place and spin around, instead.

I feel a shift in the wind.
I'm more TIME hungry than $ hungry.
I'm experience hungry. After I wrap this trip I want the MOUNTAINS in a big way . :)
I may give myself permission to take the foot off the gas work wise for a few weeks. I know bills are going to paid. Now what I am *I* going to get that is amazing experience wise? I'm creating a rough plan now for a higher elevation escape. :)

Two things:
First to note ... the vacation ended up LONG ! 7 days in Hawaii plus a night in Vegas on return.
Then yesterday we ended up with this FULL solo day at the house post vacation .
A. I made a promise to my partner to become more involved on days he has his daughter while we were on vacation last week. We are sorting some details out but this is a " 5 " involvement level to aim for on a 1-10 scale. I'm serious about making some steps towards a better mid point.
B. We are back from vacation and she is here beginning today. This is a FIVE day visit and I really struggle with the longer ones. I want to head up north to cooler elevations and the family cabin ...... tomorrow.

Oh I should mention they ARE invited but he is traveling for work and my wi-fi up there is bad ( it just comes out of my phone haha ). So he is invited but would have to wait to end work at 3:30 - 4 p.m.
EDIT : I'm going !! I was getting paranoid it didn't " look good " but I'm not giving up my time up there. :)

One of my coworkers has a 17 year-old dog who it seems has reached the end of the line. It’s got him all fucked up, and today will probably be the dog’s last trip to the vet. The dog knows me, even spent some time here while he was getting things sorted out after breaking up with his ex- and trying to find a place, and I’d have that dog here with some regularity as he often will go to one of our satellite shops in another part of the state for a couple days at a time, so I suppose I feel a little vested here, as well. It’s never easy.

Friday was rough. My coworker’s fiancé went to the vet, but she couldn’t bring herself to be in that room when it was done, and maybe it was for the better, because she was going a little hysterical. Neither of them have ever put a pet down before, and maybe it was easier for him to not be by himself. We went out for bar food and drinks later that night, to try cheering them up.
It sort of worked… it kinda came and went in waves for them.
Not everyone was able to commit to the weekend, so we didn’t do the 4th of July beach trip this year. Instead, the girl I did my first photo shoot with, her family is hosting an all ages pool party, so we’re going to that. Plus we get to bring dogs. Which, I kinda feel bad appearing like I’m flaunting that after Friday’s events, but I’m curious to see if Beagle will swim. I know they’re not water dogs, but still.

Man that must be so hard for people to euthanize a pet :(...I remember watching this woman having to pay after her cat was euthanized. It felt so fucking brutal watching her crying her eyes out while paying to have her cat killed and the person at the front desk didn't say a comforting word to her. I just can't imagine that feeling :'(.

I feel like I'm going to chop a few inches off of my hair tonight - it's around bra-strap length when wet, and it's feeling a little witchy. I don't even know why i have it so long. Been growing it out just because i can. But the ends don't feel super healthy. Probably from past bad behaviors, like going without silicones for a couple of years (eyeroll).
I also feel like sleeping with my hair in a loose braid isn't the healthiest for my hair type (fine). I end up sleeping on top of my hair, so even my silk bonnet and pillow can't completely protect it. Going to experiment with loose buns.

For damaged feeling hair, have you tried Olaplex? Or an Olaplex dupe like Ion Absolute Perfection Booster (https://www.sallybeauty.com/hair-color/other-products-and-applications/fillers-and-additives/absolute-perfection-dual-kit/SBS-405019.html) at Sally's made a big difference for me. That, or Queen Helene's Hair Cholesterol.
The thing that made the biggest difference for me, besides the Olaplex stuff, was getting a water softener. Hard water builds up on our hair and makes it dry, but it's something that many hair professionals don't seem to talk about.

I actually don't really have hair damage - i don't dye it or use any heat. I've tried olaplex, but i didn't notice any results.
Agreed on water filters! I do have one, but i don't think my area has hard water (we don't get buildup).
I just have fine hair that's prone to coarseness and mechanical damage once it gets to a certain length. My hair isn't super thick, either.
The hair near my head feels very soft and healthy, so it's possible my ends are just growing out from old, bad habits, like not using silicones and sleeping with my hair wet and down. Shrugs.

I have same hair structure (never dyed it, but I use heat- with heat protection serum, ofc) and I actually just have the ends trimmed every 4 months. It's not prone to mechanical damage, it's just natural mechanical damage that happens to any hair. Once you will trim the ends more often, you will notice it grows faster and as thicker, because the ends didn't get to the point where they are so damaged, that makes the hair look fine and it loses volume.
Any kind of hair gets damaged past the 4-6 months mark (6 months in really happy cases), no matter what we use, at some point the ends are splitting.
If you want to make a habit, after you have your haircut, just set a calendar reminder to get your ends trimmed in another 4 months. You'll see a really good change!

Yeah, i trim my ends daily (individual strands that look mechanically damaged) and around every 2-4 weeks (i cut around a centimeter off) with pro scissors.
I actually don't have any split ends. My ends just feel coarser. Could be due to any number of things that were happening years ago, when the hair at my ends was coming out of my scalp. Nutrition, sleeping on wet hair, lack of silicones to protect my strands... who knows. :(

Ohhh, hmmm, you're on the opposite side of the problem hahaha... maybe you need to talk to a hair stylist, but you know... someone who knows their shit. Or maybe the fact that you trim it daily, makes it feel coarse? Maybe trimming too often could also be a problem. Try and let it rest for a while, stop trimming, use some serums/ masks and maybe u see a difference? You have nothing to lose, I guess?
PS: my hair also feels more coarse towards the ends, when I dry it without heat.
Try to dry it with heat, with some heat protective serum and see if it's softer? Heat protective serums are really effective and it prevents hair from getting damaged so easy.
Pair that with less excessive trimming and see if you get any results.

I like the ideas! I'm definitely not going back to using heat. And my ends develop these squiggle patterns (not curls, it's clearly mechanical damage). The damage type is "crinkle" - there are images of it, if you're curious!
Shrugs. Just chopped some length off, and it's feeling good! :)

Now that I'm feeling better, I actually have a lot of pent up energy from sitting around doing nothing for 6 days. At the same time, the only things I have to do outside the apartment is grocery shop and unload a bunch of crap from my car, and I still don't want to do either one. I took the trash out, actually stepping outside for the first time in a week, and was like "fuck this, it's hot."

SAME.
I just have fine hair that's prone to coarseness and mechanical damage once it gets to a certain length. My hair isn't super thick, either.
Same. Ever since I entered adulthood, and before I ever dyed or bleached my hair because people would always try to blame it on that, once my hair passes a certain length it's just always dry at the bottom. I used to do the whole recommended trim every 6 weeks crap for a long stretch, made no difference. Never even used heat on my hair regularly until fairly recently. Did the no heat no shampoo thing for a year, made no difference although for that to really work I'd assume you'd have to do it for years, like that won't fix hair that's already compromised and you'd be doing it to preserve new growth. I've even hacked off all of my dry hair and had a bob....and it immediately grew back dry. I think some people just don't have great hair genetics just like how some people don't have great skin genetics and age prematurely for no reason.
The only thing that ever helped were Brazilian blow-outs because they trick the hair into looking and feeling healthy, and they really helped. Silky, frizzless hair that would air-dry beautifully. If I had tons of time and money I would still get them done, but currently spending an extra $400 and extra 4 hours at a salon every few months is not worth it for me.

This is more of a vent than random, but I have my cbt next weekend (basic motorbike day course). Of course there's a heatwave, and I'm worried about being too hot while trying to learn something new. But it was a month to get a slot so if I move it it might be another month and then it might be raining. Also the weather has been very cloudy and we can't afford a holiday this year so I would like to go to the beach on a hot Saturday tbh. I don't even want to do it, my bf wants me to try. I was like this with driving a car though, and now i do that and quite enjoy it, but I just don't want to buy a bike this year, it feels like too much stuff, when the hell am I gonna ride it? Only when he does tbh. And we usually don't have the same days off.
I'm also on my period and crying rn. I haven't really had them since being on the pill I'm on but I started tracking symptoms etc and I seem to have a regular bleed if not heavy, so I'm kinda happy (I was worried about messing with my body and not being 'natural' for so long) but ofc I'm crying so ... maybe it was better to be hormonally altered but stable

I just had a 9-10 day period.
I'm on a BC pill that is supposed to create a short period ( mine were never long anyway ) .
UGH. So much frustration about this. The damn thing shows up early while still in Hawaii .
It was a few days before the non-chemical pills in the pack. It stays two days after starting the NEXT pack .
I probably got myself into a google hole about what it could mean.
Since there are so many things it could be I probably just need to see a Dr. ! :/
I'm confused if I need to see someone for sure or not.
I don't want to give up this BC pill either it has improved my skin SO much.
