My Halloween was great but I miss having trick-or-treaters. I've been in Socal for years now and never get any, what's up with that? Is it a regional thing or a changing-of-the-times thing?
In some areas I've lived in, there were local ordinances against it, sometimes they had parties for kids in town halls, or let them trick or treat in local businesses

Halloween used to be fun.
We didn’t have daylight savings time and it was dark when we went trick or treating, not the middle of the afternoon.
There weren’t hordes of people, some in their 20’s or 30’s out, just kids.
Kids were dressed up as ghosts or witches, not some trademarked copyrighted creation from Hollywood.
With fewer people out, in the dark, it was a fun spooky atmosphere, and you could hide and jump out and scare each other.

Scaring parents has become a lucrative industry. Kids are safer now than they were then.

Well a lot of the trick or treater's parents had strollers with them..wonder how many kept a gun underneath. I had a blast handing out candy to the little ones, there was this tiny 3 year old girl who had styrofoam w googly eyes on a headband. (alien) We let kids with tiny hands grab a handful and she kept grabbing piece after piece. Took like 10 and her mom kept having to say, "okay...okay that enough! Time to go!!" She also threw her bucket on the ground when the neighbors answered the door, then got a sugar rush and ran for candy. fucking adorable!
