I wish I was brave enough to try lip fillers. The only injectible I've done is botox/ xeomin for my 11s, but taking collages+retinol products have made them a bit less noticeable which is good BC it's getting me through the pandemic.

I've been reading about L'oréal Wonder Water for hair. Has anyone here tried it? It has a lot of alcohol in it which makes me not want to try it and it seems to have mixed reviews. Some people rave about it, others say it makes their hair fall out. Anyone here have experience with Wonder Water?

Just try it! The first time, it dissolves very quickly. Mine are now almost dissolved due to the pandemic, but I can't wait to get them done again <3

So it was just a consultation today, getting the fillers next week!! So excited!! I'm only starting with a half mL, she says my lips have a nice shape & gradual work will help keep the shape & get the results I want. I can't wait!! I also get on OF & see that one of my regulars bought me a $150 Juvederm gift card to use, WOOHOO!!!!!

^^^I don't allover hate lip filler either, my current deflated lips are still significantly bigger than my natural lips were and I prefer them this way any day. I'm just wrestling with whether I want to stay with this more modest size or get them plumped the fuck up again.

As far as your staining, have you tried the Crest strips? My dentist actually recommended them to me when I was asking about having them bleach my teeth, they work great and you can cut them up and put them on problem areas if you have specific spots you need lighter. One of my canines has always been very yellow so I'd put a piece of a strip on that tooth every night until it was lightened up to match the rest, then did all my teeth together. That was a couple years ago and I only now am starting to feel like it might be time to use the other half of my bleaching set(I bought one of those two packs). I think my canine looks like it is starting to look a tiny bit yellower again.

And I'm turning into a perfume addict too. Idk if anyone else does this, but I have scents that I like and then scents that I like for ME. Like just because I love a fragrance doesn't mean I will wear it, I like to wear stuff that I think goes with my look.

Honestly, put off your appointment a little bit longer and see how you feel about it. I also feel like the lip filler trend train is ending but I want them for myself and don't worry about trends that much, haha :) Oh and as for the Botox if you have headaches, I've heard it can help with that. I'm going to talk to my primary provider about Botox in some areas because I get a migraine at least biweekly that lasts 3 days. (Used to be more frequently but I've figured out my triggers) A girl at work even told me that Botox stopped hers completely when nothing else really helped.

I have sensitive teeth & gums & lots of fillings (a few in my front teeth) so unfortunately whitening strips are painful & would get uneven results :( Sad too because my teeth are pretty straight, the color's just off! My family just has those bad teeth genes lol. I don't think anyone on either side of my family has AMAZING teeth (without work done) now that I think about it. I am getting veneers (likely the no shave ones) after the rest of my dental work is done. Probably not for another 2 or 3 years.

Yeah I don't like wearing heavy florals or light/fresh scented perfumes, even if I like how they smell. I tend to lean towards fruits, gourmands, spices & musks.

I feel like PMD has done a lot of advertising to get where they are with influencers.

I love this professional machine for diamond microdermabrasion. So gross all the gunk that comes out. There's some photos on amazon of what comes off the little pad insert after using it. I kinda lost the pad pack for it so haven't done it in a while but it works great!

I'm a big advocate of gentler treatments over time, and going to a professional for more advanced treatments. It recently came out that skin needling, for example, is really not something you should be doing yourself at home. I wonder if microdermabrasion is similar. Idk, i would go with a weekly chemical exfoliant for great results over time, or for more intense issues like scaring, go to a facialist for a pro- level laser treatment / microdermabrasion. Just my thoughts, not lecturing! :P

Drop the conditioner. If the shampoo does great to you, keep it. But you can use whatever conditioner you want, because you don't put it on your scalp anyway.
Also, I always use a blow dry serum before drying my hair. And those smell amazing anyway.

I have seboreic dermatitis, been addicted to Vichy Dercos for 15 years (for oily scalp.. i tried the sensitive scalp one and funny, it gave me a real bad reaction. the dry scalp one is also good, a friend uses it and it's doing it's job), it's the only shampoo that keeps my scalp clear. It smells bad, like medicine, but the smell gets covered by the hair conditioner and serum.

Oh I always put conditioner on my scalp because of dry hair and thought it would help with the flake removal? I do add argan oil to the end of my hair every time I shower to stop breakage which was so helpful and suggested by a woman at a salon. The only issue is the scalp flakes. I'm an idiot when it comes to hair care lol.

Think of your scalp as being similar to the skin on your face... you'll experience buildup and irritation if your scalp never breathes, and if you use a bunch of products on it without clarifying (like dry shampoo, etc.). Briogeo has a nice exfoliating sulfate-free shampoo that smells like girl scout cookies. And diluted apple cider vinegar can be a good rinse if you're having scalp issues (look up YouTube videos if that sounds interesting to you at all!). The scalp and hair naturally have a slightly acidic balance.

ACV is usually a rinse after conditioner, and then you rinse the ACV out with water, of course. Just a rinse for the scalp and hair to balance things out and close the hair cuticle.

The Briogeo product is nice to exfoliate the scalp, if you suspect you have product buildup or need to get some dead cells off of your scalp. I'd hate to send you running for products without knowing more about the causes of why you're having dandruff, but maybe useful to research.

I think we also live in a time where people demonize hair washing, lol. I don't know if you're one of those folks who will do anything to stretch wash days, but that method doesn't work for me (I've tried it over a long period of time before). My hair is happiest and most hydrated when i wash every other night. I start to get dandruff and have oily, dry strands if i try to push wash days too far apart.

I have solved the mystery. There's a cheap red dress that I have been wearing on cam all week and last night I noticed that dye from it was rubbing off onto the part of the wall I always lean my leg against. So it must also have been permeating my top gel coat, which explains why I noticed that it KEPT darkening. Last night they had officially darkened to a cherry red so I had to restore them back to their original color and this time added no topcoat.

Anyone have experience with in shower moisturizers or lotions that don't clog pores?
I have fairly sensitive skin & don't mind spending a bit more if the product is right.

Speaking of dry skin, I found the BEST hand cream ever!
https://www.amazon.com/Lavido-Nurturing-Bulgarian-Lavender-Primrose/dp/B07VZD5C7V?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1&psc=1
Holy crap! I got it through boxycharm originally because I had some points, but I bought more within 24hrs of it arriving. It's incredible! My extremely dry red hands were back to normal in 24hrs and were softer and even better looking than before I moved to the desert within 48hrs. Not an inexpensive cream, but it's the absolutely best that I've found by far. Absorbs pretty quickly and doesn't leave your hands greasy at all.

I use the Nivea in shower body lotion. It smells like almond. I'm all things Nivea and Eucerin when it comes to hydration. I don't use it every day but I like to rotate it in and out of my routine. Just make sure you have one of those pebble shower mats with texture. You don't want to bust your ass trying to be luxurious.

Weightlifting is my recent beauty random. I've started going back to the gym (mask and gloves included, of course), using the app Fitplan.

The face-lift effect is noticeable, at least IMO, and i feel like it's tightening up my neck as well. In a way that cardio doesn't. Not to mention tightening up my body, of course. And I've only been back in it for a week.

I'm going to add jumping rope to my workouts, as i suspect that'd also be great for the face. Great for bone strengthening, too.

If any of you weightlift, would you tell me if I'm just imagining things, lol? Cardio doesn't do this to my face. I know weightlifting temporarily raises HGH, and it's obviously great for you, but i legit feel like it makes me look ten years younger right after i do it, and five years younger as a longer-term effect. I lift heavy, but I'm not doing any bodybuilding stuff or anything like that.

^^While it's still somewhat unclear why exercising has a positive effect, also on your skin, science does point at the increased blood stream gets rid of toxins from you skin. Working out will also increase collagen levels!
Why you don't see the effect from cardio, may be that simple that the effect exercising has, and which hormones etc is produced, varies from person to person.

On the other hand, I believe the reason why people that exercise regularly often has a healthier look, and can appear younger, is because they usually live healthier in general. They eat healthier and they sleep better, those things goes hand in hand.

^They have microcurrent devices like Nuface and Ziip, which can be effective, but I'm not going to lie, they require a lot of dedication. Daily maintenance, plus you need to keep buying conductive gel, which can get pricey if you use their branded gel. I use a generic conductive gel that's much cheaper, but it's also harder to remove. I'm a total skincare junkie, but even i don't keep up with my Nuface.

Also be wary of any advice you see on facial exercises - there is a high likelihood that doing active facial exercises could increase the rate of wrinkle formation, since you're making certain expressions repeatedly.

Aside from tretinoin (increases collagen production), home treatments (LED masks, microcurrent), and in-office treatments (dermarolling, microcurrent, etc. ), plus lifestyle habits (not smoking, reducing alcohol, exercising, using SPF, eating healthy fats, proteins, veggies)... I'm not aware of any legitimate lifting protocols that actually work, aside from home microcurrent, which is a weaker version of in-office treatments and requires daily maintenance to maintain any results that you might achieve.

I'll also mention that with most things, you'll notice the biggest difference if you already have terrible habits. If you're already nailing most of these great habits and add one more thing, then you're less likely to notice significant results, since at that point, you're basically just trying to defy the natural aging process. Just my experience.

Bought the Shani Darden facial wand today - doesn't ship until the 18th, I believe. I like the idea of a facial massager that's passively working to relax muscles in my face.

I use Bondi Sands foam self tanner. If anyone wants before + after pics, feel free to directly message me. I prefer not to show my face on public forums. But I'm super pale + cool toned & unable to naturally tan. This shit is awesome. A little pricey, but worth it & I can use it in the comfort of my own home!

Got my lip injections. I'm currently at 1 mL of filler (got 0.5 first, then another a week later). I'm in LOVE with my results, I feel like I actually love my smile now! Depending on how they look in a few weeks I may touch up with another half mL, but overall I'm SO glad I did it! I look at my face in the mirror & feel more like "me" if that makes sense. They just fit my face so well. :)

Still on my perfume binge, I got a sample size of this scent, "Pumpkin Marshmallow" by CocoaPink. Oh my god it smells sooo good & realistic. I keep getting lots of compliments on it at work. Gonna buy the full size & try a few others. I'm obsessed with gourmands right now.

I'd look for a gentler option that has some skin-strengthening ingredients: Paula's Choice has some options. Try their chat feature to ask someone which product would be best for you, based on your skin type and concerns.

https://www.paulaschoice.com/resist-intensive-repair-cream/781.html

Higher concentrations are more effective for fine lines, whereas lower concentrations are more indicated for stuff like acne. That said, you always want to start with something gentle - you can work your way up. And more expensive isn't necessarily better... both the Skinceutical and Neutrogena retinols gave me insane cystic acne, whereas the stronger prescription tretinoin i used has never broken me out, and i pay like $10/year for tretinoin.
