^^^ Thank you, exactly my thoughts, i rather trust SM than Cosmo or any other 3rd party, i been thru Epassporte failure back in the days then FirstChoice fiasco then Cosmo blocking my money for a week, i am paranoid and want to be paid by SM directly exactly for the things u mentioned above. I'll sign up myself right after SM lists my last week payments thorough Cosmo. They said we can change back to our existing payment method until we receive the cards.

Has any of u guys signed up for the new SMPay?
I closed my local bank account & their card i used to cash money from Paxum (i used this option when CosmoPay got out money stuck in Secondary balance for a week a while ago); i cash my money using CosmoPay card now but i am nervous to only have a payment option.
I wanna sign up with SMPay considering i only cam on SM and their card is cheaper ($13) than a Paxum card which is $45 & takes months to arrive.
I am eligible for SMPay so yeah, i will go for it and once i have the card i'll use it, just wanted to know what u guys think about this option xx and ty!
The SMPay card is about $24 per year and issue fee is $12. It's cheaper, but I can use Paxum with many sites. To be honest, my SM earnings are consitantely the lowest of 4 sites I work on, so buying a card just for them is definitely not worth it for me. SM is the lowest earner, the least traffic AND by far the lowest payout percentage (all my other sites pay 50% or more). Quite frankly, it stinks. A couple of years ago it had lots of traffic, but it's dead now. (LOL - I've had my vent)

^SM is my only camming income. I already have a Paxum and a Cosmo. Between those 3, I feel much safer with SMPay. Plus, if the conversion fee is a fair one, you end up spending less with it. Paxum and Cosmo charge 3%-3.5% for any withdraw, plus a few additional dollars.
I wouldn't complain for having more options, something to fit everybody.
^^^ Same here, i only cam on SM so for me SMPay sounds perfect :)

I remember someone asking this before but I can't for the life of me find the answer. When I put my webcam on my desk in front of my monitor it makes me look blue. I think someone said something about color calibration but I can't remember. Does anyone know how to fix it? I was also thinking of buying a anti-glare or Blue Light Blocking Screen Protector, will either protector stop the coloring from the monitor from reflecting?

I'm not complaining about having more options. It's good that they are expanding payment options. The option would be available to me if I ever need it, which right now I don't.
I don't withdraw cash from my Paxum card. I use it POS and online. The fee is a fixed $1 per transaction, and 2.5%. I've made 57 purchases on it to date, and 23 times I haven't been charged the 2.5%. I don't know why.

Tips in SM are depressing. A guy tips USD 32 last night and I only get $9.60. As this is a venting thread - that stinks big time. Tips should be paid out at a higher percentage. The guy tips ME $32 and SM gets $22.40. wtf!
I absolutely agree that I wish we could be paid more on tips. Unfortunately, besides us models getting our 35% portion (or whatever portion of that your studio gives you) Streamate also has to pay the webmasters their portion (approx 30% revenue sharing) for bringing the customer to the site in the first place.
Personally, I think it would be stellar if SM would give up some of their portion of the remaining 35%, especially since a lump-sum like a tip isn't puting any strain on their servers, or other tech.
But this IS corporate America, so these days thinking a company would give up a penny of profit is nieve. *sigh*
Agree to what u said!
You know what is more depressing than anything?
Guys BELIEVE that we got to keep their tips in full, they not aware that if they tip $1 i only get 30c off it, this is soo painful to deal with cause they throw a few dollars at us or even $1 and expect the world for it and i know that if i flash my tits for 5 gold i only get $1.5 off it.
If i tell them how much i get for the dollar they spend on me it gets them in shock.
They believe & consider fair that we keep most of the money but in fact most cam sites keep most of the money we make.
For that 45 gold i got the other day i was expected to show all in free chat but i told the guy for full nudity he has to come pvt which he did, he was a gent.
Well yeah, that's how things work, we'll never ever see a company to increase our share but to decrease it eventually.

You need a white balance. Check this thread https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?208807-How-to-Soften-Your-Webcam-Stop-Looking-Washed-Out-W-White-Light-FOR-C920
Its for the logitech 920 but the basic are the same for every camera.
If you are using logitech you will need the Logitech Gaming Software 8.96, which you will find by searching your computer. If it doesnt pop up on your computer search then go to the Logitech site and you can download it there.

Well yeah, that's how things work, we'll never ever see a company to increase our share but to decrease it eventually.
The other problem Streamate has, and why they won't give us more of a share of our tips, is that very quickly models would be doing shows only for tips so they could keep more of the funds. There's always someone who would work-around the rules. It's human nature to try that.
I know many of us are frustrated, but telling guys the meager portion we get isn't really the incentive to spend more money with us that you're hoping it will. Those custies, and the other people watching from the 'Potential Members' area, may just leave the site all together. And we don't want that! In sales I was taught this important rule: Don't talk smack about the company or the product you're trying to sell. If you can't do that, then say nothing at all & fake a smile that all is well & you're grateful for their $1.
We're independant contractors, like hair dressers, Uber drivers or strippers.
And all those jobs suck, if you talk frankly to the person doing it.
Would you like to hear your hairdresser rattle on while you're in the chair that the salon owner just raised her booth rental sky high, & how much she hates what the salon owner is doing, or how filthy the place actually is? And that the products she's using on you cost her sooooo much & she never makes enough money? Uh, no, I don't think any of us would. If she wants to keep her customers, she'd be better off to keep her convos pleasant... And instead vent when she's off the clock to her sweetie or gal pals about how tough her life is.
I know that no one here wants to hear that the 35% that Streamate keeps is spent on brilliant programmers who are constantly trying to keep up with whatever new thing comes along on a daily basis (mobile devices, browser changes, legal requirements, etc.) If you consider what the site is up against, those programers are doing an amazing job! SM's 35% also pays all the other employees (Like Liz, Vanessa & crew) & computer servers around the world. AND SM COVERS ALL THE CHARGEBACKS!
Covering chargebacks is HUGE! We never have our paycheck shorted because some dipshit asked for his money back or claimed his card was stolen (I've worked on sites that do that, and I like SM better) IMHO give some thanks SM has all this going on so we have a place to work. In my book, if I'm earning $10 or more p/hour, then I'm beating the meager pay & horrible conditions of working at McD's , Walmart or some other confining shit hole.
As I said in my prior post, the other part of the equation is 35% goes to us, the talent. The final aprox 30% goes to the webmasters who drive traffic to us so we have guys to cam with. That comes to 100% of where the customer's money goes.
Attitude of gratitude for what we DO HAVE shifts the energy.
Focus on what we want, not what's missing or what we don't have.
Like the old adage says, "You'll catch more flies with honey than vinegar."
^^^ Joy, i said "IF i tell them" not that i talk bad about SM in my room, i never do this in public or private chats nor do i ever talk about other models. I am a professional and pretty aware this is not the right way to work no matter the field and i have a lot of years experience in retail sales myself.
It just happened that i had a good regular who spent good money on me for a good while and that guy believed i got to keep most of the money so i told him that is not the case. I was speaking my mind in my post, does not mean i bash the camsite or anyone else towards members.
Now to be very honest, considering how site changed over the years and how models give shows & incentive for soo little is no wonder guys expect a lot for $1, they got trained badly to want much for very little money spent or even for free.

To be fair though, there are many cam sites for customers to choose from, so going high rate will send them elsewhere. It's not like SM is the only game in town. Their very low payout percentages is forcing girls to charge more than on other cam sites, and collectively making it an expensive place for guys to play. Look what they can get for free on the token sites - and even there privates are paid out at roughly 50%. MFC and more recent token sites f***ked private sites, not girls charging less on SM. It's a bit like "video killed the radio star" all over again. Times change - SM needs to be more flexible to survive, if indeed they care at all. Their customer service has always been attrocious.

I've always just streamed from the browser (no encoder). I haven't encountered the problems you're having. If you check "rankings", they give you the bit rate, frames per second and round trip time (ping) during our last logon. That should give you an idea if you're own connection is limitiing your streaming... bear in mind, the numbers won't be very high if you're far away from SM server which I think is in North America somewhere. I'm on the other side of the planet... but I check them to make sure they are at least consistant, if not high.
If your broadcaster settings are too high that could be a problem. I stream at 512k.

I understand it from the guys point of view though. It would have been a huge suprise (or shock) to learn that from his $50 tip you were only receiving $15 (or $17.50). He's trying to help the model, but ends up giving most of it to a faceless corporation. I'm sure a lot of guys stop tipping when they find this out. I would too.

I'd be pretty sure they are noticing a big drop in revenue. There's no way so many of us notice and they don't. The only reason I stuck with SM through nearly 5 years is that despite the low payout rate, I got a lot of traffic to make up for it... which has now gone. Mid 2016 the downhill trend started for me, which has continued on ever since.

I've also had guys coming in, having been told by some other unhappy model how awful it is that we're taken advantage of. Boo-hoo! ..... asking if I'm pissed about how little I receive of the funds customers are paying me.
Maybe I'm a teacher at heart, but I love launching into a tutorial explaining how I'm not pissed but grateful. That really makes the guys head spin! LOL
Instead of whining, I tell him how the company is doing the heavy lifting, providing me an independant place for me to work, no strings attached. I can quit any time I like, or work whatever hours whenever I like. And how we're independant contractors on Streamate which is like the barber shop he goes to (with booth rental & fees) or their local strip bar where the girls have to PAY to work before they've even made a penny.
And if I have time I'll also explain all that stuff I said in that long post (above) about webmaster & payment processor fees SM includes for us, and all the other stuff Streamate provides for us to be able to just sit down & get to work. (and unless you're in a studio, our daily commute is from the kitchen coffee pot to our bed or chair =) Plus, every expense we have, even the room we cam from & our electronic equipment & cell phone, all the way down to my lube & wet wipes used while doing this job is a business expense on our taxes!
I always end on a high note, being positive that as a business owner myself, I'm thrilled that SM makes it so easy for me to work from home AND in 8 yrs my payments arrive like clockwork (peace of mind).
And for Tropo, " At least they have made some improvements for their 65 - 70% cut", you're forgetting to take out the webmaster 'finders fee' for sending the site traffic from the hundreds of white pages & porn sites that drive horny guys to our rooms (it's difficult to do, so SM has to pay the webmasters 30% portion of our pay). That leaves SM receiving 35-40% for business expenses (listed in my prior post) and profits (which all business owners/creators are entitled to)

I agree with a lot of this. No one likes to acknowledge how much SM and their affiliates play a role in actually driving your traffic to you, let alone all the work SM is doing to maintain the site in general. I bring this up to guys who say they wish I could keep a higher cut. I'm like, yeah me too, but you would have never discovered me if it weren't for this platform, and it isn't fair for me to bring you off the site and break their rules just so I can take more of your money - which is frankly way riskier, when it comes to things like IP security and chargeback protections. SM drew you to me, and they're also providing me a place to safely stream in HD, with chargeback protection, and no other work obligations, so I think it's totally okay that they're taking most of our money. I wouldn't mind a few more percentage points, but I don't think their cut is that unreasonable.

but why? do you actively think about where every cent you spend is actually going at the end of the day? when you buy a certain product do you actively think about how much the designer/producer of the product is actually making, after whatever store/corporation takes their cut for distributing it? i doubt it. in my opinion that is a stupid way of thinking about things. in this line of work in particular, guys will NEVER be able to give you 100% of your cut, unless you're doing it in cash. which is sketchy as fuck. teach guys why they aren't supposed to tip us on paypal/square/etc. teach them why going through a legit site is actually worth it on our end. educate them like JoyKitten explained. that's what i try to do anytime a guy gets butthurt over the fact that i'm not keeping all of his money.

That leaves SM receiving 35-40% for business expenses (listed in my prior post) and profits (which all business owners/creators are entitled to)
I think you misunderstood my post. I don't tell them anything - neither does anyone ask. I was merely stating that a lot of guys would stop tipping if they knew the percentage models get. The news gets out - they stop.
How much work SM does for their 65 - 70% cut is a moot point if you no longer can make any money working the site. No traffic is no traffic. I work on 3 other sites that offer 50% payout and they all have more traffic. There's no excuse for 30% payouts (what I get). No explanations make it right. They started this 30 - 35% business when camming was at it's prime. They did it because they could. Competition is stiff now, and token sites are becoming the new normal. Charging such high commission is like shooting themselves in the foot because models charge higher rates to make up for the low payout.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, with the exception of AW (but they pay 65%), SM has the worst and slowest customer service I have ever encountered on any sites I've worked on.

but why? do you actively think about where every cent you spend is actually going at the end of the day? when you buy a certain product do you actively think about how much the designer/producer of the product is actually making, after whatever store/corporation takes their cut for distributing it? i doubt it. in my opinion that is a stupid way of thinking about things. in this line of work in particular, guys will NEVER be able to give you 100% of your cut, unless you're doing it in cash. which is sketchy as fuck. teach guys why they aren't supposed to tip us on paypal/square/etc. teach them why going through a legit site is actually worth it on our end. educate them like JoyKitten explained. that's what i try to do anytime a guy gets butthurt over the fact that i'm not keeping all of his money.
LOL> not getting 100% is light years away from getting 30%. You sound like you're working for the SM promotional department - making bad things seem fine.

I wouldn't say that it's a "stupid" way to think.
Guys think that way. They want us to get the majority of their money. This is why percentages should not be discussed with guys on cam.
Spot on! I'm surprised that the moderators haven't come in to ban this kind of talk, just in case there's some big tippers still unaware of the facts.

if *you* are experiencing "no traffic" and/or don't like the commission, then why do you continue to work there? the "bad things" you speak of are not universal to everyone. lots of girls still get steady traffic and make good money on SM. i have never worked another cam site and have literally been supporting myself on SM income for several years, so if I come off as if i'm "working for the SM promotional department", i guess that's why. yes it's glitchy and it might take more time and effort to hit my goals now compared to 3 years ago, but it's not impossible by any means.
also, most of my guys are aware of the commission percentage we get; it doesn't stop them from paying, mainly because they know SM is the only site I work. so if they think i'm worth spending their money on and want to pay me for my time, that's the only place they get to do it. it's not like i would charge lower rates if we got a higher cut, either. at the end of the day, customers are going to be paying my rates no matter what my cut is, so there's no reason why it should affect their decision to spend on me.
i do think something that might make a guy decide not to spend on a cammodel is if he somehow finds out that she's making more money than he is. like when the MFC token data leak happened a few years back, and it revealed a bunch of the top model's incomes in the six figure range - a lot of guys supposedly started going to less popular models. i've had guys tell me they tend to avoid the top models in SM contests for that reason. but i tell them, if you like a model, pay them. their income or commission shouldn't matter. if she's entertaining you, she's doing her job and should be compensated. it's simple.

Tropo you're so angry about this. What "bad things" exactly are you talking about?? Do you even understand how a fair business market works? Do you think if you went to work in a retail shop you would get paid 100% of what you sold? Do you even think you would be making 30%? SM pays out well and they dont have any charge backs and that is huge! I never understand you models that say you work multiple sites and you cant make money on SM. Obviously you're making some money there or it wouldnt be in your list of multiple sites! Have you ever just tried working one site and seeing if you made the same or more then just jumping around all the time?
I say this cause I have worked SM for years. Its my only site. I often have times of low traffic which means I will be working more hours a day but I almost always make my target if I put in the hours. Still I have sat there for 4 hours making almost nothing and then pulled 300 or 400 in one hour. This idea that you all spread that there is no traffic on SM is crazy! I get lots of traffic and I get lots of traffic that leaves and comes back and leaves. I dont get hung up on it. Im there for the whales and the regulars and the rest I pay no attention to.
Additionally if you want to make a higher percentage start using your affiliate and cammodels link!! Its not rocket science. I was sick all this week with a cold and I still pulled a couple hundred just from guys using my cammodels and affiliate link.
Its great to see some other models out there supporting SM though.

Thanks for the rant. I'm just venting, not angry. Don't be so sensitive.
I've supported myself (and my family) on cam income since 2005, so yes, I do know how to make money camming and still do. I certainly don't need any lessons from you.
Allow me to remind you of the thread you're in now: STREAMATE - Venting, Complaining, Discussing site issues
Let me complain in peace and you can look for models on the main SM thread to chew out. I don't post there much, so you'll have to find a new target. It's pretty lame coming to this thread and asking why people are "angry". They are here to vent, so please go away.
Thanks!

That's a very good question.
If the traffic continues at it's current level, I will be hanging up my SM shoes. Right now it's a supplementary income to my main sites. I get the odd OK day. Due to the pathetic payout rate it's the lowest priority of the 4 sites I currently work on. It's not really a problem to keep the broadcast window open and wait, when I'm on 4 sites. Even if I get zero, it doesn't ruin my day. Obviously, when split camming, if I have a choice of taking a private on a 50% site that pays every 2 weeks, compared to 30% and waiting 3-4 weeks for pay, I'll take the former.
But please, as with your friend DeepThoughts, please stop trying to argue in this VENTING & Complaining thread. That's why most of us are here. I don't post often in the main SM thread so I can avoid such lectures.

Sephora has a cut of 60-70% from brands. Why? They offer online and offline stores, they handle everything and so on. Do you see brands bashing Sephora? No, they keep it fucking professional. It's easy, you don't want your product there, you don't sell it. Be independent and set your own rules.
A cosmetic product costs around 8-10% from the final price to manufacture. For luxury products it's even less.
People know those numbers, they still spend $50 on a Tom Ford lipstick, because they want it, because they like it.
Same with customers. Let's not pretend they are there to make us a favor. 90% of them enjoy the service, they like the interaction, they like the girl etc. Majority of them don't give a shit about our cut, as long as they get a good service in return. And as you can see, it must feel damn good to spend hundreds on such an interaction. Focus on that, on delivering something to make them happy, not on your %.
Do I like my %? Hell no. Ofc, I want more. Would I make the same amount independent? Unfortunately, no.
Therefore, I make the most of it. I don't take things personal, SM doesn't want to ruin my "career". Me making more = SM making more. My man works as a computer engineer, so I see on daily basis what means to run a software, change it and fix it.
I don't get bitter about other models doing better. Girl, take his money. At least there is potential out there, I just need to reach it.
This attitude of complete ungratefulness doesn't help you. You know what does? Changing your attitude, your outfit, your hair color, your background, your webcam, your schedule, your damn religion if you need to. That's how some girls make it, they are constantly spicy and playful, they don't settle down, they work harder when it's slow, they bring something new. Sorry, but being petty is not the attitude of a champion. Nobody likes a grumpy girl.

Hi JoyKitten. You are so right about the fees that Streamate has to do. To be honest those sites being in freechat is annoying and not really my taste. So performers sit there all day and scrap up one token and not getting pad for shows for flashes when they rest of them sit and stroke for free.
You said a mouthful and seem to know the business. i been on Streamate since 2004. I also seen the enhancement of the system. I use to log on and be taken to private asap. All day long. Also performers should just keep to themselves about the percentage.. They wouldn't be on here if they wasn't making okay money etc. Streamate pays everyone on time except there was an issue with payment as far as contest in the past. They made up for it. They the only site that really gives out earnings and bonuses not for Costumes and events like other sites that gives no one chances of winning.
I just hate the part of the potential members. I went GEO so I won't be bothered with the asshole stroking and peeking from a hole watching me sit and do nothing.
I like the way you said everything above, so true. Have a good day

No sweat off my back if you want to vent. Im just pointing out that you signed a contract that said you would get paid X amount and now you are here "venting" that it is a "bad thing".
As for lessons you can take my advice or not you are not a target of mine nor is anyone on this site. I didnt attack you! I know this is the SM venting thread but did you happen to notice its about Site Issues? Is the % that you agreed to when you joined an issue with the site????
Just seems redundant to me and I just have a knack for pointing out arguments (vents??) that are null and void

I don’t mind 35% because for the most part SM offers good traffic.
There are sites that offer 85% but very little or no traffic. 100% of no traffic is still $0, LOL!

There are sites that offer 85% but they don’t pay my hard earned money *crying*
On the other hand, my audio it’s fucked up, idk if it’s my webcam or the SM broadcaster, but the guys have to turn up the volume all the way up so they can hear me
