It's amazing Webcamcutie, I got it jokingly to do squirt shows from, because I can just wipe it down with clorox wipes instead of having to strip the bed every time, but mostly I watch TV from it or put it on the bed during hour+ long shows, and everyone laughs and then gets reallllly quite.... wonder why. lol

Yeah, I get it. I'm going to add a chaise lounge and a laptop cart so I can alternate between the office chair and the chaise. It's funny, you're tired of the bed and I get tired of my chair, haha. I just want the best of both worlds, it really helps when doing longer shifts.
I think that seems to be the norm, it's like when girls with straight hair want curly hair and girls with curly hair want straight hair... That's what I'm going to do in my spare room, a desk for both computers, a chair AND a bed!

Definitely. I HATED working from a chair, and standing all night. I'm just never satisfied... unless I can work from the swan. I suggest that.

I went from a blow up air mattress that got a hole in it when I first started out and I had to blow it up every hr or two, to a recliner, to the floor, to half a bed, to a cushion from an old couch on the floor for years till I got the futon. Ugh. I've always had to cram my camming space into some small area of my bedroom somewhere, not no more! Can't wait to move all my stuff and be able to move around and cam where ever I want, chair, bed, floor, standing, masturbating on my head, shit... The list is endless! :rotfl:

My last office had an air mattress and a bed platform and all that good stuff on it, but the air mattress had the same issue with a slow leak and was uncomfortable and the angle sucked, so I just ended up in my chair for shows anyway. It was a great decorative bed though!
My current office has a blue wall and a white board. I work from the chair. It's not exciting. The dudes always ask if I'm in an office though, because I have a china cabinet stored in the corner and it just barely gets in frame of the camera. And it's like "well, dudes, I'd show you that this is ACTUALLY a detached garage that I sheet-rocked, sound-proofed, added lights to, and painted, but that would require showing you the FUCK TON of shit my family is storing in here that is hidden behind my camera. Seriously, metric fuck ton of stuff. It's bad. You don't wanna see it." Putting in gym mats (because it was supposed to be a gym before it was turned into a very expensive storage locker) has been great for floor shows though--my knees never get sore on them!
I'll post a picture if my plots to get the stuff organized onto proper suspended shelves and floor shelving units ever comes to fruition and I get my office space back...

To the ladies who have those soft boxes or the umbrellas, which do you think is better? Also which carries the light further? Like if I place them behind my PC but need to scooch quite far back on my bed to do a show, how well lit would I be?
Also I've found a lighting kit with 1000W bulbs...that sounds a little excessive but it comes with the softboxes so not sure if I should invest in that or not. I know this is a little off topic but I didn't think it warranted a whole new thread being started.

I have experienced with small white umbrellas & now I bought big ones. The big ones occupy a lot of space but give a lot more light (and spread the light better). I saw the diffrence from having same umbrellas just diffrent size.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/photography/buying-guide/bh-wedding-guide-choosing-umbrellas-and-softboxes
I have the white ones. It explains better there why bigger is better. You need a more powerfull light tough.

^^ thank you so much. And in terms of bulb wattage? I have zero idea what I'm doing lighting wise. I can build a whole theatre lighting rig easy peasy but cannot for the life of me figure out photographic lights.

11-25-2015, 03:53 AM
Ugh, I went to the store and asked for the most powerfull ones haha. But myself - i have two light bulbs per each umbrella (it's that thingy where you can connect 2 light bulbs). One of the bulbs gives white light, the other one yellow. So you don't look like a ghost (with only white light) or like you are sick(with just yellow light haha).

Thank you omg you are a life saver :D think I might do 2 soft boxes with 1000W lightbulbs (since that's what gets sold here) as they seem good for maintaining neutral colours.

Here's mine. And yes there's a egg cup... it has lube in it, so I just have to dip my finger in it to get some. Also the big blue box under the desk is FULL of toys... Once a toy is used it's out on a towel and then straight to the sink.

I'm moving soon so I haven't set up my cam room exactly the way I want...but here goes my current battle station! I'm so ADD with my setup, I'll move everything to my master and then back to my cam "office" and then move it around my cam office so I can lay on my chaise and then sit on my chair...I'm never happy.
I can't wait until I move (either next month or july) and I can start from scratch with decorating and my ultimate cam setup...want to build a PC and go all out with multiple monitors. I mainly sit on my chair for shows, but sometimes I want to lay on my chaise lounge, but my current setup doesn't allow for it...I'll figure it out soon enough. My eyesight is horrible so even putting my chatroom on the TV is hard to see from my chaise lounge...
and since I'm doing an international move, I haven't bought professional lighting yet...what you see here are piss poor DIY lighting...but I look bueno on cam

So thanks to this thread I bought softboxes and my income doubled. Its awesome. I'm so glad this thread is here. I'm currently trying to move so my battle station is waaaaay too messy to post a pic of, but once I have it up in my new home I will post a pic.

So glad this thread popped back up. I just bought softboxes too, and while I love them I'm still kind of unsure how to set them up. I don't really have a lot of room behind my desk so the light is just too intense and bright if I direct them at me. I've found that directing the lights up so they reflect off the walls gives me a more even, natural light than having them pointed at me. And I also use a regular globed floor lamp directly behind my camera with a desk lamp on the floor to even out the shadows. I still need to experiment some more to make sure I'm getting the best results out of my lights.

Question for those of you ladies who use softboxes/harsher lights...if I want to buy fairy lights and put them around to make my room look sparkly and pretty, what colours would I buy in order to make sure that the softboxes don't cancel out the lights?

I love this thread! I don't have any pictures to post yet because I'm currently camming from a bench and a couch cushion on the floor. As soon as I start making some real money I plan to invest in a battlestation like this! Just a question, can any of you girls recommend a remote controlled webcam? I hate adjusting mine all the time!

If you have a logitech C930, then Logitech BCC950 is the answer. It does exactly what C930e does, but has a remote control :))
I will buy myself one soon because I am happy with the C930e and I will upgrade the C920 too.

My desk area is very cluttered. I live in a really small 3 bedroom townhome. Our room is the smallest and yet, we have this GIGANTIC desk in our room. Theres only room for a bed behind.

Do you know whether your bulbs are florescent? I think they usually are. I used to use fairy lights and just made sure they had a golden/yellow tinge so that they popped even with my lamps on. Don't get the white/florescent fairies. If they have pink, they would show and add a bit of warmth to you as well.

Ordered these as the final pieces to my cam collection. I know the height adjustable laptop rolling cart w/ storage will definitely come in handy. Wanted to give myself and my viewers more options outside of just sitting in an office chair. Will update Friday after I put everything all together.

You'll get there! I used to cam on the hutch of a broken desk (movers broke it and I didn't replace it with the insurance check)laptop sat on top of a shoe box, and I had an office chair I took from off the side of the road on my last military base.
I used just those 3 and 3 cheap dollar store bendy lamps for years until I updated, since I've started. Whatever gets the job done, and pays your bills.
I've been decorating since I moved here for over a year now. Bills are important but it's nice to look around knowing you bought all on your own and that it's a business investment that hopefully should make you even more money.

Wow I LOVE your wallpaper!!! I cam in front of a bland wall and need to perk it up. Your room really inspired me. I love the little hanging lights...very good idea.
I use a lounge too. Can you like a couch or bed. I like to aim my toes at the camera and then zoom in and out as needed for shows. I do a waist up shot for chatting once in private, i slide down and do a "crotch shot" pov for most shows. other positions like doggy, etc are easy to show. Get lots of compliments. I'm going to do wallpaper..the kind where you can stick it up and then peel it off.

I thought it would be fun to get a look at how all you fabulous ladies set up your desk/bed whatever to get ready for camming. I've gotten pretty efficient at laying out everything I need exactly where I need it.
43259
I always have a box of tissues or wipes for clean up. Toys go on a new paper towel every day, with spare batteries if I know they need them. My phone and glasses within easy reach for personal stuff (I don't wear glasses on cam,) plus hair brush, clips, and lip gloss for touching up my makeup without having to leave.
What are your essentials, ladies? How do you prepare before jumping on for the day?
Love it! I call it my "command Center". Two laptops, ipad, phone, props, lighting and go!
