Oh wow..I didn't know tripods were a thing. So many of you using them as well! I'll have to get one. x

I have a tripod but don't use it. Over the years I've bought so many things to make my space look better and always end up going back to the same set up - bed with cushions and laptop perched on a box hahaha. This is how it looks now

i hate my tripod with a passion, but its big and i have a small room. I keep thinking about getting a table top one that peeks over the laptop but tbh its not going to make a vast difference to just clipping it on the laptop i dont think

Thanks Sally, the set up its quite simple, and sometimes in one night i only use 2 toys, so not big of a mess there. I really wanna get something like this to organize my week or month :D

Is there a particular reason why your cam is on the far left of your computer?

Sally Says
12-02-2016, 03:24 PM
Mine is slightly towards the left because I have a HD built in cam, which I couldn't use in somewhere like streamate but I use to be online and create a presence elsewhere :p

So I went to ikea today, I was so tired I forgot half the stuff I wanted but saw so many organising things that would be good for cam rooms, I will go back after xmas and document everything haha

I put mine in that same corner!

My video feed sits right under it and it looks like I am making eye contact when I am looking at myself. I use other real estate on the rest of the screen for all sorts of other things (split screens, timer, etc.).

I have no real reason it was that particular corner, it just made sense I guess. Maybe it had something to do with the USB plug on the first laptop?

MsJess
12-02-2016, 08:04 PM
Yeah actually the reason is that 1st my nose looks better from that side lol, and 2nd becouse i use SM broadcaster and put the window in that corner of the screen so i when i look at the cam i can watch what i am doing aswell :P

I have mine set to my best angles as well. And depending on what site Im using and the method of splitcamming (Verysoft or two cams) determines which site gets the best angle. I keep mins up high slightly left of the center.

Mine varies all the time & just as I've got one set up perfected I'm bored and move onto the next! My current favourite is to set everything up in my bedroom which is a complete pita so working on a new one to see how that works. Sometimes the small details can make so much difference either way on cam. My main concern is lighting which takes up 90% of my focus when setting up. :O

Here are previous incarnations of various places in the house with today's location }:D

I love this thread! I'm just about to start a complete makeover/refresh of my whole home and have been thinking about how I want my work area AND the cam area behind me to look, as well as what tech (such as lighting) I want/need. So this whole thread is so inspiring and I'm loving seeing all those clean/bright rooms and workstations :)

Would love to see anyone else's too!

Im curious to know what make and model of laptop you're using? I noticed that you have two C920's logged in. Are you able to make adjustments to each cam separately? I may need to get a new laptop soon and I'm finding out that the ability to have multiple cams setup up successfully depends on the brand.

I thought a screenshot would be easiest as I never know what information to give other ladies. I do have two separate C920's - one for SM and the other for all my other sites. I can adjust them both but have to plug one in and then adjust before plugging in the second one and for some reason the Logitech software always picks up the SM one by default.

I had no idea that it wasn't the same for all brands to be honest!

You can also use a splitter ro edit settings. I use a c920 and a c922 and edit the 22 settings via verysoft x

The problem arrives when its the SAME model. I don't run into issues if I use a C920 with a C922 or whatever. But if I try two C920's then I can't make adjustments to both cams on my desktop. I sometimes can on my laptop however. Even when I access the settings via other software it won't adjust. I've run into this issue for years. On some setups it works and on others it will not.

^ I do the same with two c920's as I only recently got the c922. Logitech software as normal with one of them then the settings in verysoft for the other one x

I'm curious what other girls do with their lights and if they use a desk or just the bed/floor? I need to adjust what I'm doing lately, the quality of my camera is not great and I know I need better lighting :/
Would you mind posting a photo of your setup?! It would be hugely helpful to me!

I think a lot of girls have multiple monitors, not necessarily multiple computers. More monitors = more screen space.

Blovely
03-31-2018, 11:46 PM
^^^ 2 computers is generally for split-camming. Sometimes 1 computer isn't powerful enough to split the amount of sites you may want to work especially if you want all of the sites at their max resolution. Also some do it to comply to Streamate's no splitting rule...they'll have one computer solely for Streamate and the other computer for all of the other sites they work on.

I am curious though, why does everyone have 2 computers??

I am saving up for 2 computer, hopeful by May definitely by summer I will have 2 computers maybe 3 or more set. There are comptuers that run the webcam site since everything want OBS or FMLE or some form of dedicated HD set up. then my computer set that host my cameras for my live house on rude.com, rude is more for passice income and self promoting directly those views to view me on cams.com

The teris puzzle solving part is making sure everythign can fit in my tiny room and also keep the fire hazards to zero and not have my guy friend come over thinking I am always in some home reno show.

I am looking into tiny media centre towers that are bare bones. to run my webcam, operating system and OBS/FMLE. then a seperate machine for video editting. some are able to mount on the back of the monitors to save space. so they are very slim cases.

nd logitech has made keyboards that run on multiple devices so that keeps things simple that way, the only annoying with would be upgrade the audio. probably need to figure which boom arm mic I will be getting but that mught end up being the final purchase when it comes to the tech gear out of it.

Bumping because I love this thread. This has been my cambby setup for over a year. MacBook Air from college, old C615, and lamps from target. My background is just a huge chair, a tapestry and string lights. Pretty cheap way to start out, and it's been good to me. I keep all my essentials in a nightstand next to my chair, but they include wet wipes, chapstick, chargers/ random cords, and a drawer full of snacks. Really like keeping things simple, but I'm moving in July and have been saving up for more professional equipment. {I also just don't want to feel like such a novice anymore lol} First and foremost, a BRIO and a Blue Yeti because the C615's sound quality is saddening. Then I'll move on to larger investments like staging an elegant background.

Dildos, a ring light, a snazzy outfit, Ipod and a gift card a custie gave me. The camming essentials. The room I use is only 77sq ft and I use it as an actual office as well. I make it work well. The corresponding walls are covered in string lights and sheer white curtains.4984249843

The biggest brightest selfie ring light is from Charm Eyes and can be found here for only $10 https://www.walmart.com/ip/LED-Flash-Selfie-Ring-Light-Charm-Eyes-Beauty-Selfie-Night-Darkness-Enhancing-Lighting-for-Smartphones/600495602 For some reason they're three times that price on Amazon? Don't feel bad. I use all kinds of ringlights. I've even made custom sizes to fit different set ups. The larger the size the more are it covers. But this one I use on the go when I'm on my truck. It illuminates so well.

Here's another ringlight at around $30. I've never used this brand before but it reviews well on yt. It comes with interchangeable filters. Normally I don't like yellow filters but there's something about the way her video looks with low lighting and the yellow filter. Possibly a great feature for very intimate streaming or clips?
