Hello everyone :)

I am considering setting up a very small 'Adult Production' company, with the intention of creating a wide variety of clips for me to upload/sell. So I am looking for a little advice regarding paying the performers. What would be a reasonable rate of pay? I know I could do time/service exchange (so no payment) but would rather pay the performer with them signing a model release so that no professional lines are blurred or crossed or confused. I don't intend to hire well-knowns or Adult TV stars or porn actors, just 'amateurs' who either work in camming/escorting/pso etc OR who have an interest in getting kinky on camera. I'm in UK/Britain if that makes adifference to payment rates.

So any advice to my bit in bold OR any other advice regarding starting up an adult production company would be most welcome.

Thanks all! :-*

How about on a commission?

You mean they get a % every time it sells? Too complicated. Even mainstream actors don't (usually) get paid like that. I'd rather a lump sum/one off fee, either per day, per hour, or per project. Something like that. Still would need a payment guideline too.

You might try taking a peek over at gfy.com, I see that question come up there from time to time. That forum tends to be less interested in being fair to the models than here, but you might be able to get a baseline for what the going rate is. I'm not sure if you're able to use the search function there unless you have an account but if you can't, let me know and I'll see what I can find for you.

It all depends on if its nude, non-nude, if they will be having sex on video, etc and more. I've hired multiple girls to do non-nude fetish videos, the rate for that here in the USA was about $75-100 an hour.

I used to be a model for a friend of mine for fetish clips (long before I knew aboutcamming), and was paid 100 for about 3-4 hours filming. I hAvent yet worked with anyone but when I do hire models I plan to use that as a base rate.

It really depends. Back when I paid models for clips (in the mid 2000s) I paid them $100 per hour, more if they were hanging about a lot, so on average $200-400 per shoot. There is some variance on over whether it is footage shot time or time spent in your studio. Nowadays the rate is probably more like $100/hr time spent with you, more if the performer is experienced and well-known. So if you are clever and keep the costumes & sets easy to change and have everything ready in time, you're good to go.

I am curious about this as well, as I often can't film as much as I'd like to. However, at rates of $100/hour, I would have a hard time turning a profit (in my clipstore on c4s)
