I had an IUD Mirena for 2.5 years and loved it. Then all of a sudden I was tiered all of the time, my face exploded in horrific cystic acne, my hair started falling out and I was having heart palipatations and anxiety attacks constantly. So I had the mierna pulled and experienced the "crash" in full. No emotional control for weeks, aches and pains, constant anxiety and depression. Still waiting for my period to stabilize... Dr. Said it could be 2 more months, and equally long until the acne fully clears up. Ugh. I NEVER though I would be so excited FOR MY PERIOD!
I've only heard terrible things about the IUD. I read from a girl who has it, that every time she orgasms, she experiences unbearably painful cramps afterwards. Something about the contractions from orgasm that conflicted with the IUD and caused her pain. FUUUUUCK that! I don't like condoms or the pill either. But I guess I would choose condoms over the IUD. My bf had a vasectomy, so I hadn't even had to think about contraception in years.
Anyway, I'm glad you got it removed, and hopefully you'll be back to normal soon! If you think you might want to try it, there is a pill you can take that sets your reproductive system back on track. It's all natural- just herbs and medicinal mushrooms. I already posted the link of it in this thread. Let me know if you're interested. I think it could help you. Or maybe ask your doctor about it.

Ok this might be TMI but I love love love the way I smell right after I'm done with my period (don't take any kind of bc) just feels so refreshed!!
This last period was a bad one for some reason, and I had horrible mood swings..I was so angry that I had to go out and spend extra money (plus tax because we all know period stuff isn't a necessity *eye roll* )just because I was born with a vagina, like real anger lol

Does anyone else have dreams about getting their period, right before they get it? I have this happen almost every month...I know mine's about to drop because I had a dream about getting it last night.
this happened to me the first time I got it, but never since. I wish I did though, planning would be so much easier

I just got my period right now. I've got cramps but they are pretty mild. Super happy to have my period than to not have it at all!

Tomorrow should be the last day of mine.
This time around I tried SoftCup. They were great for me overnight! Box says you can have it in for 12 hours, but I took it out (kinda messy) after about 10 hours both times, minimal if any leaking. My period is lighter now that I eat better. My body seems very happy & grateful these days ^.^

So I started mine today, Feb. 19.
I used to freak out cause Id have a period twice in one month sometimes but once I started using a tracker, I noticed it comes approximately every 27 days.
Yeah, I just used a tracker, and figured out that my cycle comes every 26 days. So I guess that's normal.

My period is very irregular. It has always been irregular. Moreso now that I'm older. I have had it for 6 months straight once or twice. No, it's not normal and Yes, I should see a doctor which I'm planning to do.
For the past two days I have had a very, very, very light amount of spotting so now I'm going to start keeping track so I have some sort of documentation for the doctor. I just hope it isn't something horrible that I have read online. Hopefully it has something to do with the more than likely self diagnosis of Iron deficiency anemia because I'm a picky eater and I dont eat veggies.
Have you been to the doctor yet? That sounds very serious! :(

I've noticed a direct correlation between my diet and my cramps. I've had the worst cramps since I first started having my period when I was 12. I would usually have to stay home from school those days and just be bedridden. I notice if I'm eating a lot of junk, fast food, etc the week or two before my period I have cramps so bad that I'll throw up from the pain. If I'm eating relatively healthily, cooking at home, my cramps are mild and easy to manage.

^Couldn't agree more. Lots of vegetables and greens keep my skin glowing and my body happy. My diet wasn't the best this month, and so my breasts are unusually sore for their usual pre-period selves.

Regular exercise also helps...I had the lightest/easiest cycles when I was dancing 4x a week, especially if I was doing a lot of pole work. I've been such a lazy bum since I quit stripping though. I tried doing "Mommy and Me" yoga videos with my 2 year old, but he just climbs and jumps all over me. Lol!

Yeah I just figured out after reviewing the instructions again that if you pull the instead soft cups out at a horizontal angle (like if you're sitting over the toilet, pull it out at an angle horizontal to the floor, not down like tampons) it keeps the menstrual fluid contained and from leaking out everywhere as you remove it.
and Charlie 61 mentioned on a previous post in this thread about the femmy cycle menstrual cups which is a similar product that helps minimize messy leaks upon removal.

i have my period now. i got it on 16 feb. i have been eating very nice local grass fed organic full fat yogurt and i notice a huge difference, no pms,no bloating,no water retain too,no acne whohoo. im going to keep testing but so far i love the result! I got cramps but i took my (natural calm) and it was gone.
I have read somewhere that cramps may happens because of lack of vitamins.
Also if pelvic is unstable and sometimes dislocate period can be very heavy, painfull.
cruciferous vegetables helps to remove estrogen from the body, which can help with pms.
damn, just found bad news for me no more flax seed and brags soy aminos. soy n flax have phytpestrogen which can mess up our estrogen level.
also i was reading about edamame and ugh nasty news. gmo soy can cause mouth hair not instantly but still!

Trust me..as long as you rotate your foods (eat a diverse diet), you have nothing to worry about. I'm not going to threadjack further, but, uh..no. Those studies are sketchy and involve very high consumption of soy over lifetimes. I have edamame like three times a week, and I certainly have no issues.

Thought I'd add this to the thread...
I've been using the app Clue to track my period and it is wonderful, and free. It asks you about your mood, sex cravings, skin, exercise, drinks, etc etc as well so you can see all kinds of trends.

BBS, don't go sending your cyber period cycles through my screen, now! LOL. My period has been an enemy of mine for years. Since I was a child (11) I've had the worst periods usually lasting 11 days with 9/11 having excruciating cramps, vomiting, and exhaustion. Like I would have to take 3-6 pain relievers at a time (badddd for the liver, etc) to keep it at bay and I was still super tired. By 16 I got on birth control to help regulate it especially because my periods started really going ape shit and lasting 3-6 months! Because of the blood loss, I would sometimes form anemia where I had to take iron pills. Had a few instances where it would go away and all of a sudden I'd bleed through everything for months at a time and feel close to fainting. She was a vile ass bitch, I had to wear TWO long ass super pads to bed so my sheets didn't look like a massacre had happened O.o
I did try the nuva ring for a bit and made me a total hormonal cunt but that was a few years ago and my periods are actually quite normal now. I'm on them for about an average 7 days now since I've started my healthy lifestyle change. I no longer break out (thanks to water) cramps aren't too bad but they were before I started so I know it was lack of proper care, though now that I've started running I'm noticing I'm spotting a bit :/ I think it's just my body freaking out and hopefully it will go back to normal. If it persists I'll get it checked out for sure. It was odd. Last month when I traveled to Canada I started spotting, no cramps, but it was supposed to be the week of my period.
Instead, as soon as I got home, I got super sick, and then started- talk about a double fucking whammy. I just thought it was funny that my period decided to wait for me to come home a bit, lol. This also happens when I'm going to get laid or something. It's like my body waits and then after it gets the green light, lol. I'm on it now which lately I have been starting the first week of the month regularly but my cramps are far and few in between thanks to eating better, drinking water, and exercise. I get a few annoying cramps here or there, especially if I ate crap (blarrgggg)a few days before but they aren't as bad as they used to. They used to be crippling where I was bed ridden and would contort my uterus in stretches and shit or thump it just for the pain to go away, lol. I really wish women had the option (without meds) to halt their rags, especially if we don't want children but, oh well...

As I'm getting a bit older (when you're younger, you can treat your body like a garbage dump and still look pretty decent, unfortunately), I'm feeling amazed and inspired by how clean eating affects everything in my body - my brain, my skin, my cramps (or lack thereof). Those naughty moments are starting to seem less and less worth it!
Refined sugars (especially when they're combined with dairy - like in ice cream) are the worst, in my experience! Those treats mess my skin up for days afterwards. Vegetables and greens, on the other hand, are incredibly powerful anti-inflammatories. Roasted veggies, soups, salads. Really trying to amp those up right now to make up for a month of stress eating.
I'm excited for Spring / Summer when I can make green smoothies every day as refreshing meals. Much harder to do in the fall / winter.

Mine has gone haywire from stress I think. Last month I had zero symptoms of Pms when normally I have very predictable ones, and my normally 4-5 day bleed lasted 7. This month I have had completely new symptoms like painful nipples (normally I just get huge sore boobs). I've had a minor back ache on and off for a week like Flo is coming but nada. Last night I woke up with a few mins of awful cramps but still nothing. I'm a bit late actually. Eeeeeeeeee.

I gained like 5 pounds and I'm about to get my period, so my boobs are HUGE right now. It's so awesome! I'm typically a B cup but they look more like a full C right now. I wish they always looked this good!

I had my period last week but it only lasted 3 days and was very mild. I think cutting out dairy has really helped...there's got to be tons of crappy hormones in all that cheese and ice cream I was eating.

For some reason periods used to give me bladder infections, no clue why. Really thankful they don't anymore. I have pretty "good" periods, cramps usually only 1 day, actual period never lasting more than 2-3 days. I used to take birth control continuously and never get periods, but I heard different things from different doctors about it and it confused me so I just gave up.

I'm not getting a period any more cuz I've lost a lot of weight. I prefer it this way. I have endometriosis and have had cramps that morphine barely put a dent in in the past. I'm pretty sure I'm almost sterile at this point, fine by me.

I track my period using two apps:
1. P Tracker
2. iP
Only time I had cramps was the one month where I experimented with consuming dairy. NEVER AGAIN. Cramps are HORRIBLE!
The days before my period comes I want to fuck anybody breathing and willing. I don't have cramps but I have to shit a lot during my period for some reason. (Sorry so graphic but am I the only one)

Started mine a couple days ago and man I hate camming on my period but I have to right now. Took yesterday off because it was so damn heavy. It's usually only heavy for the first couple days though. Back to work today.. I love how when you say you can't do any penetration shows today, the guys ask "why?". Come on guys, you're not that dumb are you? lol!

So as close to veganism as possible is the only thing that fully regulates my periods. That says a lot. I just noticed it. I guess all the health YouTube vids that repeatedly talk about how cows milk was intended for a calf to gain hundreds of pounds as quickly as possible, have paid off lol

I always feel better and happier during my periods, and I am thinking it's because it's one of the few times my hormones are actually functioning and in the right level. I am more horny and emotional before and during my periods, but in a happy vibrant way. I wish it was like this every day.

I know when I'm about to start my period because I start getting all weepy. Sweet little things make me cry. Like right now, I was napping with my bf's teeny, tiny, little daughter. I was cuddling with her and I was just lightly touching her little nose and little lips and her little cheeks. And and felt so wonderful and sad at the the same time. Yup, period time.

My cat ate through the loop on the end of my femmycycle, so I have to buy another one. ::grumble::
More importantly, I feel that rosehips tea has shortened my cycle significantly. The last couple of months, during which I've been drinking a substantial amount of rosehips tea (I tend to be hardcore about new health foods I discover, rather than consuming them in moderation), I've been getting my period far earlier than normal. Not cool!

Does anyone else crave orange juice before their period? I do every time and I can't figure out why. It's not the vitamin c because I eat a lot of fruit (especially strawberries). I know when you crave chocolate it's because you're lacking magnesium I think it is. So I wonder!
ScarletKitten
04-09-2016, 07:18 PM
^^No, I don't crave OJ during my period. But I do crave lots and lots of water. I find the more water I drink, the less the cramps.
Interesting how alot of people are making the connection b/w dairy products and their periods. I honestly never made that connection before myself, until I read this thread. But it's true now that I think of it. When I used to drink milk, my periods were pretty painful and I felt sick/ nauseous during them. Now that I don't consume dairy at all, I don't have that sick feeling anymore & it's much more manageable.
I like eating spinach, rice, and beans because it's an excellent source of iron during that time of the month.

Haha yep I get like that...More maternal than usual towards the kid. Like I'll look at him and get teary eyed at how cute he is...and I'll rotate between being really pissed off and really lovey-dovey with my husband.

I've been going out of my way to eat the most nutrient dense foods possible as often as possible and I somehow think I'm getting my period a week early. This has never happened before. I've never been regular except when I was mostly raw, but this is weird.
One time like 8 years ago I had a two week period for no reason. Has that happened to anyone? It was so weird!
