I've been going out of my way to eat the most nutrient dense foods possible as often as possible and I somehow think I'm getting my period a week early. This has never happened before. I've never been regular except when I was mostly raw, but this is weird.

One time like 8 years ago I had a two week period for no reason. Has that happened to anyone? It was so weird!

My period comes earlier when I don't have enough fat in my diet / enough calories. Tends to happen when I'm eating very healthily but not getting enough of certain macronutrients.

Hmm I'm addicted to avocados so I don't think that's my problem. If anything I probably get too much fat. Bodies are so weird.

What causes severe bloat before/during period?

That's so weird. I've had a 2 week period too! I missed my period for 2 months last Fall. It's on now and my back pain has been through the roof! I haven't been able to pin down what causes it to shift. I suspect when I was popping DHEA it threw my hormones off a bit but I've stopped that. I'm too scared to keep taking it regardless o the bomb ass results. Two years ago it even changed color/texture. I thinking it was the Ginkgo I was taking so I cut waaaay back on that. Part of me wishes it would just stop but then I fantasize that I'll probably meet Mr Right the week after and be mad I can' have kids! :rotfl: Ah womanhood.

Maybe your body feels like you are SUPER fertile and wants to jump on the job! :D I felt like I was getting my period faster when I was living with my ex. It made it challenging to keep up with my chart and avoid the dreaded fertile times.

I think I'm PMSing this week, or maybe it's just stress. I've been moody, weepy and having hot flashes. It's either PMS or really early menopause.
It truly could be stress. I swore I was having PMS about 2 yrs ago but as soon as I took time from my <ahem> challenging family members things regulated again. I was moody and weepy over people who should have been smacked up and left for dead. If you felt there was no reason to be moody than you may have a hormone shift going on.

So as close to veganism as possible is the only thing that fully regulates my periods. That says a lot. I just noticed it. I guess all the health YouTube vids that repeatedly talk about how cows milk was intended for a calf to gain hundreds of pounds as quickly as possible, have paid off lol
A side note: I switch to non dairy milks and cheeses and try to only eat chickens with no hormones when I want to cut down for auditions. Those sneaky hormones really do bulk you up. I was off them, eating very clean for years and got with my ex. He was cooking steaks and the whole nine. I literally went up two cup sizes and put on 20 lbs in no time. I had never been above 127 and I was up to 153! Soooo you are definitely on the right track cutting that stuff back.

I need to eat better before my period, everyone kept saying I looked sick yesterday (I started this morning.)

I swear it's none of that. All I've done differently this month is eat a ton of black beans (used to hate all beans) and probably overdosed on a second new probiotic. My vagina must really like one or both of those? This bloat right now is literally too extreme. I am getting everything checked out once it stops bleeding.

A sudden increase in fiber can definitely cause bloat. Your pancreas needs time to adjust its enzyme production to fit your changed diet.

I had my period twice this month. I came on on the 2nd and the 27th. Should I be concerned?

I had the weirdest period. I think I'm going to mostly eat vegetables and legumes for awhile. Like, just those. It makes my skin nice anyway.

One word for you ladies: THINX
I can't wait to order my second pair. As someone with a lighter period, these are probably going to eliminate my use for any products. Fkn revolutionary lol seriously raving over them to everyone I know... I wore them for the first time yesterday and will be washing them tonight so I can wear again tomorrow for my last day of bleeding (hopefully)

I still cramp sometimes but it's barely painful, and my periods are light and regular now. Which is interesting because I am actually diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis, and I used to have severe heavy periods that made me dizzy from loss of blood and throw up.

I can think of three things that would've affected it:
1. I moved to a town that I really like (Sacramento) where I am away from abusive family members and living more on my own. I am much happier than before
2. I began lifting/exercising more regularly
3. I eat more and have more variety in my diet
4. I took borax and maca

I think the biggest catalyst was exercise/lifting, which probably forced me to have an appetite and eat more. I am not underweight anymore and I actually have muscles and fat now. My personal trainer also made sure I eat more veggies and fruits (mostly raw). I also took maca after I got off birth control, and even though it was tough having a period without birth control, maca probably helped me be more regular. Borax I also began taking, not sure if that made much difference, I haven't paid much attention.

Ever since I started the pill years ago it's been like clockwork, comes every 4 weeks on the same day and ends 6 days after. I love my period.

I'm on metformin and I've dropped 12 lbs and period came 1 week early instead of gone for several months at a time lol. Guess I really am pre-diabetic. All the shit I have is related to the same root causes, it's so annoying

All I have to say is...thank goodness for menstrual cups! If you find one that works for you, it's a godsend.

I honestly don't even keep track of my periods, but I know I should. I need to start writing them down in a period calendar or something lol. I just know that they always start sometime very early in the month and last about 7 days.

After a long bout with antibiotics and forced off it, my weight crept up but I think is back to around it was at that point. I haven't been weighing myself so I don't even know. I had bread and cheese last night with a bit of wine and none of that was good lol. Now all I'm craving is chocolate and I'm hoping everything stabilizes soon because going off metformin means that I haven't had a period in like almost 6 weeks. Stabilizzzeeeee

I had no idea there were brands other than the diva cups! Despite this not being true.. I still get the sensation that I'm stretched out from the diva cup, so I just stick with sea sponges.

I'm afraid of spilling the cup honestly but I go through a lot of tampons and pads feel so gross at night. A sea sponge maybe better. It's just a tampon you can reuse right?

I was always afraid of the cup spilling with diva cup. Femmycycle feels much more stable to me, and I've never had a single tiny leak with it. Love it!!!

Femmycycle for life. I put it in when I shower, forget about it, then take it out 24 hours later when I shower next. I remember growing up and going through a tampon an hour on my heaviest days. Pads and whatnot, tampons that dry you out and feel terrible, needing to stock your purse with emergency supplies. Thank goodness for alternatives!

Sorry; I always rave about it when I'm on my period. :P

Popping back in here to vent about emotional insanity before period time. I always know my period is coming when I get teary-eyed for no reason and start obsessing over ex-boyfriends.

I had the worst cramps of my life today. I was physically crying and almost went to the ER. I def. have an ovarian cyst or something; I usually don't even have to take OTC pain killers but today I thought surely I would die before the day was over.

Oh no!! Are you going to have it checked out? I've heard how painful those can be, and that does not sound fun.

I was only on BC for 1.5 months and mine are now whacked... 19-21 day cycles with 7-8 days of bleeding for the first 3 months and now I'm on day 28 without a bleed... But all the anxiety attacks and other PMS shit. Ugh.

I hope yours react better

Yeah. I used Spironolactone to ease the transition off of HBC. That was ROUGH. And I'd only been taking it for maybe five years. I'd mostly been taking it for acne in the first place, so I pretty much knew what to expect...

I started using the Diva cup. The small is too uncomfortable, I think my canal is too narrow and I'm very small in size (5'1/slim build). I'm thinking of getting Luna Moon instead.
There's a chart online that has sizes of each brand and which is best for you according to height/frame/etc.

^Yeah, if the diva cup is too big for you, then the femmycycle definitely wouldn't fit. I'm small, but I'm pretty good at relaxing and whatnot...

I cant relax worth a crap, esp when it's my first time converting from tampon to cup. Maybe I put it in wrong? How do you position yourself? I just kind of sit on the toilet with knees apart.

So I went off my birth control, just for a week, and had some godawful raging hormones. I was depressed, anxious, and horny all at once. Decided to start taking the pill again for now, just because I'm going to be moving out of the country next month, and I'm a bit worried about the mood swings/period problems. The pill calmed me right down. I had no idea how much it could affect you mentally! D:

Also, I missed my period this month. Hmmm. I took a pregnancy test, which of course came out negative, so guessing it's stress or diet related.

It came when I needed money. Toying with the idea of using a sponge but holy fuck if I get it stuck up there. I hate my bodily functions and I need my period to go away.
