I used to be a personal assistant so I used to use that as my fake job. But honestly, my hours are too fucking all over the place for that to be believable. So now, I just tell them I work in the adult entertainment industry and I don't do porn (since that's of course what they think). Usually they stop asking after that. I hate lying and can never keep track of my lies when I do so I just choose to tell them. You either love me or you leave me alone lol.

I usually tell people I am self employed as an Internet/Social Media Consultant.

Ha thats what I say to strangers since its kinda true. My family and friends all know the truth but I dont like to tell people I just met what I do.

Lol I totally feel you guys.I dated two guys for a short while and told them I was a Paralegal. Which I kinda am since I do have a Bachelor's in Paralegal Studies. Both guys always wanted to come to my job and give me lunch. The last guy that I dated briefly would ask almost everyday "Would you like me to bring you lunch"? And everyday I'm like ''No thank you, I have lunch'' He REALLY wanted to see where I worked I believe cause I told him no and he'd keep asking every time I told him I was working. LOL

Now I don't mind telling guys am dating what I do for a living but only after a lot of trust has been established which takes time, if I like him enough and if I feel it's going somewhere and I know he's okay with stripping in general. I'm not gonna have every random guy I go on dates with to know I cam. I have a stalker already, don't need more.

I've thought about dating guys in the adult industry as well so I don't have to lie but where would I meet them?

Aren't you near HSN?
If I lived there, I would totally tell everyone I worked there.
And if I DID live there, I would definitely be a show host.
What an awesome gig that is!
Most of the hosts make major bank.

if I'm feeling super bitchy I'll say "trust fund kid", LoL pisses ppl off :)

Why would it piss people off to know that somebody was a trust fund baby???

I usually tell people that I'm a freelance writer (which is true) or a hair stylist (also true). I just leave out the part where I make men cum over the phone for $$ lol

Oh wow! So cool! Well, You're certainly gorgeous enough to be even a host today.
You're not camera shy, and u r used to live TV.
I bet that would be an asset.
No cam custies would recognize u, because it's mostly women who watch that channel.
Matter of fact, it's probably what women are watching while their husbands or boyfriends are in the other room whacking off. Ha ha!

I ran into someone yesterday, who asked how my 'fake' job is going.
Uh, ......Good.
She suggested that I take my cards ( I don't have cards) to a particular store, which is far away from where we live. and drum up business.
I would need a special license for my ' fake'' job..So..No.

* Nobody works where I now live. So last weekend while at a party, I experimented with a new answer when asked what I do.
I say that I'm retired. Nobody asked beyond that.
I realized that in the short time that I've lived here, that people are super lazy, and NEVER want to go out and do things. So, they don't really like it if I seem busy with a full life.
I'm kinda relieved about that.

I keep changing it lol but I try to pick title's that are related to camming so that it doesn't feel like I'm 100% lying or like I don't know what I'm talking about. Over the years I've said customer service rep and affiliate marketing, web developer and affiliate marketer, web designer/web developer and now I'm going with multimedia developer. I was pondering on saying content creator(like Youtuber's say), digital producer, multimedia producer, or digital entrepreneur but I felt like those were too far off from what I actually do plus they seemed too hard to try an explain. I know a fake job title isn't that serious but I wanted a title that encompassed every aspect of camming. I picked multimedia developer because by definition Multimedia design/multimedia developer literally encompasses all aspects of camming.

Recently someone asked what I do and for the first time I said multimedia developer, he asked what that was and I said I create, develop and edit things for the web...like websites, video, text....he was like oh so you're one of those computer kids...I laughed and said yeah pretty much. In the past I didn't really like any of the fake titles (hence why I kept changing my fake job) because people always asked too many questions or talked too much like "Oh you work from home where do you work?", "Oh so you make websites. I need a website we should exchange info.", etc. I always felt so uncomfortable and awkward when the dreaded work topic came up....I always felt like can you please shut up and stop talking to me please.

I've always been interested in web design and multimedia but didn't want to pursue it for a few reasons. But as I was looking for fake job titles I actually got a few ideas on how I could expanded my camming/adult persona into a larger business via multimedia developing and a few of the other titles that I posted.

I usually have a (very) part time vanilla hustle, so I just make it sound like it's a full time gig. I work in make up artistry. It's a good cover.

I tell people that I own a cleaning business. It's not a total lie because I do clean houses as one of my gigs..except in lingerie. Sometimes as an added bonus it'll get me a vanilla house cleaning customer. If it's someone overly nosy(like my mom) I just say that I work from home doing telemarketing for a bill collection agency. That loses their interest real quick.

I've been outed years ago and am still masturbating on the internet out and proud so no fake job required here. Guys ask me all the time if you are 'out and proud' why do you hide your face? Hmm because you should have to pay to see my face the same as any other part of my body I don't feel like showing off for free.

If I could get away with it I would cover the cam completely in free chat and only reveal myself in private hahahaha.

I live in Miami, plenty of porn stars here.

Rarely do I even get asked. Usually, people I don't know. go "hey Sam, how's your day?" So they all know & it isn't a big deal.

When my router went out. Bought a new one at Walmart, it didn't work. At the return desk the young black lady behind the counter said "Oh no, Sam, we got to get you one that works to you can cam again". Kid you not. Now, I have been shopping there 8 years.

When I tell old white women what I do the look of shock on their faces. Not because it is porn, because I am old & fat. LOL Next question is "Is there any money in it?"

On Twitter I follow all kinds of people in all kinds of professions who have the blue check mark. About 40% follow me back & tweet with me on subjects that do NOT involve porn.

We need to give people a chance instead of thinking they all condemn us.

i dont have a "fake" job, i tell them exactly what i do vanilla wise since being a comic artist and illustrator is sorta seen as something cool to ask questions about... when it comes to camming i dont hide it so much but depending on the " who" i may be vague and just say entertainer, or performing arts - but just as often more so around other women im no9t shy about saying i cam too

Well I finally skimmed this thread

and honestly I just don't have time to use a fake job title. I never did. I cut off close minded friends and family. and people I date they need to know up front what I do because I don't have time for some insecure guy to waste my time when I can be with someone who is going to be a partner in my life.

Being home all the time your really need to stick to a routine and manage your time. It's the only way things will work , set hours for work, set hours for relaxing then in between I handle cleaning and laundry. I also limit how much time I attend family functions because I really rather be home alone in my own space then spend it with my family.

They aren't happy about it but I am getting to the point where I need to live my life the way I want to live it. and anyone who is upset or offended by it can really just suck it.

You don't have to confirm or deny it, but I now believe you and I went to the same college! Yay and hello!

I say I do SEO. It's something I know about but that won't easily lead back to me, and is reasonable for doing from home.

I tell them I'm in digital sales, which sounds just vague and boring enough that no one ever asks any follow up questions. Plus it's technically true.

Hi. Nice to see you!:D
* I went to a new hairdresser yesterday, and the first thing he asked when I sat down in the chair was "So, what do you do?"::)
Hmmm. decisions, decisions.
I went with the collections agency job, because I will probably be seeing him on an ongoing basis.
His follow up question was, " Do you threaten people to give you their money?"
Well, I AM into financial domination, so it's not a complete lie.
I just think most people ask that question because they have poor communication skills.
It's all good.

I always ask people "how are you?" back.. especially people ate the store and stuff. It really throws them off guard !
