I don't post ebooks? However many people use kindle publishing or just hosts ebooks on their own site and take payment via paypal, or gumroad, or send owl etc.
I write ebooks and I sell in Amazon, Barnes and Noble and iBooks. You can make more doing that than camming but it will take time to build your income and you have to treat it like a business.
I no longer cam and I'll probably leave PSO at the end of the year.

^^^^Thanks for the tip, Rina. I've been harboring book thoughts for years. E-books sounds like a good idea.

Honestly, with the money, I make writing it's hard to justify the time spent on PSO when I know I would make more on books.
Don't get me wrong it's work and you have to study the market and go in with a plan but ultimately the pay off IME meets or exceeds the top level earnings of cam or phone. So it's stirctly a financial decision.

Looking to build my own business of some kind, maybe wholesale, resale stuff. Not interested in fame or career. If i was i would have studied my ass off to be a doctor. Healthcare pays well.
If, money wasn't a factor i would travel, garden, knit, crochet, paint, make delicious home meals, have a bunch of kids, shop, travel with family, help people with money, and explore the world. Yeah pretty much hitting the lottery big, would solve all this :)
Haha, I have the same things that I love and would do if money wasnt a problem, so I am also hoping to win the lottery. None of that can bring me enough, because between camming and being a mom, I obviously don't even have the necessary time to work on having a vanilla blog, for example..
I wish you the best of luck tho, you are way better than most of us because you have a husband that earns enough so you can take some time off and work on a project that will end up making you good money! I hope you will be able to quit this and inspire others by coming back here and telling us what you did! oxox

Thanks everyone! I haven't been on here much. I currently manage our own rental properties for long and short term rentals, for vacationers. While camming income definitely contributed having this nest egg, it's mostly thanks to my husband. It is sales, dealing with people, ups and downs, but family friendly, and i CAN talk about it to people!
I was also very reluctant to change from camming into some other business venture, but since i haven't cammed since 2 years, it's like a fog has lifted, also have more TIME to build and think about other business ventures. Physical/ emotional effort put into camming robbed me of a lot of time to reflect and put effort into other plans/thoughts/ventures. I had to stop cold, deal with lean times, then slowly build myself up and go forward in different direction.
While i,m still flirting with the idea of hopping on cam sometimes, and come on here to see how everyone else is doing, reading about the recent changes in laws, privacy and the industry as a whole, i'm not sure if it's worth the huge effort anymore.
I just wanted to update you all, who responded, to tell you that you CAN get out and have no regrets about it. Hope it can help someone!
Oh I posted before reading the whole thread. I am happy for you! I wish you the best of luck! oxox

I'm talking 5 figure months, but it took time. You can make money faster in camming and phone but I like the idea that my books can keep making money long after I've written them.

Isn't he just! I also love Amy Porterfield, Ramit Sethi, and the Femtrepreneur girls! Check em out if you want to be super inspired about marketing, online biz etc x
Thanks for suggesting Femtrepreneurs, I've been binge watching them all day. So much great info!
This thread is really inspiring. I never realized there was so much potential in vanilla work. This thread and a few other high earning threads that popped up recently have been making me completely reconsider my future career goals.

Bloody hell that's awesome. Well done, that is very inspiring.
I know many e-book writers who tend to write books about any subject (even ones they have zero knowledge on)
Do you tend to stick to subjects you know well or anything/everything?

I write genre fiction. Though I am considering a true crime project in 2020 if I can get in touch with the right people.

Ok do you just sell courses?

Ok do you just sell courses?
Just one course. You can google how to start your own course and market it, there's loads of info out there. It's a lot of work up front and initially you won't earn anything for those hours (or very little). But selling your own digital products and courses is by far the most lucrative way to earn money right now.
If I didn't want to completely disassociate myself from everything 'adult' I would totally do this with camming related info products. There is MASSIVE opportunity out there for anyone of you guys who would take the time and effort to learn how to market and become an infopreneur. I'm thinking 'Camgirl school' like Marie Forleo's B School :D

I've been looking into creating a camgirl course, but no big platforms like Udemy and Teachable allow it (I asked, and insisted no actual adult content would be used). It would have to be self-hosted. There are some camgirl courses out there already, but I'm not sure what platform they're using, and they seem more targeted at noobs than at helping girls be more entrepreneurial.
I think teaching girls the indy side of things, especially now that it's getting more complicated with FOSTA/SESTA, would be really valuable.

Oh crap i hadn't thought of that! You can use a plugin like lifterlms or learnpress to host the course on your own site. Most of them work with paypal and stripe for payments though so you'd need to check if there's a more suitable one, or email those two and ask? I am sure at some point someone will have asked or done this with them before so they'll know.
Yes i've seen a couple of courses and as you say they're not really focussing on the entrepreneurial side of things. There is a lady on niteflirt who sells goodies and ptv's for pso's which i think is genius! It's just so annoying you'd have to lose the 40% fee.
I'll keep my eye out if i come accross a way around this because it'd be sooo good for someone here to do this, or a few ladies to team up on it!

Yup that the journey I've been on since 2011. noticing my results from affiliate marketing, then being on webinars. and heading to internet marketing events. I still can't believe I took a greyhound from Toronto to Nashville for a company event now because of those connections and friends I am learning to trade foreign exchange and crypto-currency.
A really great new book that is out there is RIse of the Youpreneur by Chris Ducker. it's basically a business outline of how to make money online in your expertise.

I’ve started worrying about this, as I’m twenty six and can’t do it forever. I’m studying computer languages right now. I have no plan for a job or future app (few ideas nothing set in stone) Right now that doesn’t matter. I picked java and jumped right in.. It’s difficult. I am lost and confused a lot of the time. I just hope that the more I do it, the easier it will become. I put my faith in all the developers who learned on their own at home. People that were over the age of thirty, no education, balancing kids with a full time job. I also pray that in ten years, technology still needs developers. I won’t let my fear stop me from trying. There are many resources for free at your fingertips. A lot of it is dated and you will have to sift through that, but it’s possible. Build a kickass portfolio. Go to a coding boot camp. Land an entry level job then if you really want to open more doors, possibly go back to school and pay while u make great money. (This is my plan anyway). It’s not for everyone I know. You have to stick with it even when bored. And after you land the job, you have to continue studying. Then you go on to build amazing things that earn passive income!!! You will have a nice life and great retirement. And that’s the most important thing of all. You don’t want be a Walmart door greeter at seventy. Or have to pay rent and utilities off a 1300 social security check. I know many people get more than that, but be honest with urself. You never know what could happen. I know old folks who were married, both working, both received social security checks and it still wasn’t enough to pay the bills.. They had to split up and live with their kids. (One child took the wife, the other the husband. They stayed married living apart sadly. Some retired people are starving out there. It’s the harsh truth.. Knowing this helps me apply myself. That fear is greater than my fear of failure and robots taking over everyone’s job. And also, marriages fall apart sometimes. So it’s good to have a plan or something for urself no matter what. Congratulations with the kiddos though and I do wish ur marriage the best.

Definitely interested in how to do this but it's been a difficult process for me. I started a blog a year ago, very slowly and started really building it the last few months, signed up for Amazon's affiliate program and a few others. I'm finally starting to get some decent traffic, and get the Amazon Affiliate income going (not much, but I'm making something from it) and then Amazon Associate program emails me and says they can't view my website so I can't be a part of their program. Stating also that my content wasn't "beneficial" even though they also stated they couldn't see my content.. WTF?! :O
Keep in mind the first time they pulled this in February I fell for it and figured I would just start a new account. I sent them a reply and a snapshot of my Google Analytics page and asked them to show me on their TOS why I wasn't able to be approved and why were they the only people that couldn't see my website. Also reminded them that they owe me money now LOL.... No response yet.
I'm in my early 40's, weird shit is starting to happen to my body (looser tummy skin, arthritis, tire easily and very little patience) so I need to start working on my exit strategy and this was part of it. I'm feeling very discouraged right now :-\

There are many ways to make money online with blogging, youtube without Amazon. I tend to promote affiliate marketing systems. that payout in commissions from $1 upto $30,000 Yes the start up cost is a pain in the ass to get going, but the skills of learning blogging ,email marketing, video marketing all the same if you are making 4% from amazon that can pull your account at any time or with a bigger program that pays higher in commissions.
Then my business partners I took a bus to Nashville for in 2016 for an event are now into trading foreign currency and crypto-currency so I will be jumping in on that in a couple of weeks then there are some network marketing companies I want to be a part but I do not want to go with the whole ask friends and family so I have been learning how to grow that income from attraction marketing and my online marketing skills.
There are way more online opportunities then every before. so it's worth it to learn the skills and grow something.
Amazon wants affiliates who can bring them traffic and sales daily. if you are not performing in about 3 months they drop you from the program. I much rather do my shopping with the program ebates and get cash back from amazon then be an affiliate for amazon. I'm an affiliate for ebates but i haven't promoted the program yet.
I need to organize all that I am in and work out a daily method of operation. it's just a matter of being focused and ignoring a lot of negative people and unsupportive people, cause the money I am making I know it should be way bigger then what I am getting.
and I don't jump into programs and companies I plan out very carefully where I want to be connected with. I guess that came from webcamming all these years not every new opportunities I need to be on. unless they fit with my vision and income goals.

Thank you Minnie! I guess I will have to look further outside the box on this one - I have other affiliate offerings/ads in my blog but it seemed Amazon was the only one hitting at all. I definitely have very little online marketing knowledge and am figuring out some social media stuff. I know there's a formula to it but I just haven't stumbled onto it yet. There are so many videos on Youtube how to do this stuff that it gets confusing as to what to do. I'll try one person's method and if it doesn't work I'm onto the next....
Try and try again I guess :)

The marketing systems I use broke it down in a simple formula so I don't always have to find answers on youtube. They basically broke it down into about 3 major parts. that just makes things simpler.
I just stopped spending my time on free resources and got answers faster by attending events and buying online courses from people I've met at the internet marketing events. Sure it was crazy to travel on the greyhound from Canada to Nashville and trip to Arizona in Canadian April winter , then 3 trips to Austin but that internet knowledge has made me some serious coin.

Yeah minnie is right. There are 101 ways to make money online. And ANY business can be made into passive income. Examples off the top of my head include:
- Youtube
- Buying & selling on Amazon/eBay whether that be your own product creation or wholesale.
- E-books/ Courses
- Affiliate marketing
- Learning a skill that will make you money online such as web design/graphic design/ copyrighting/SEO expert/ Marketer/ Accountant (more local) these are services that are ALWAYS needed.
-Creating Apps or Software
- Blogging
- Any then just ANY business. Any business can be made passive when you outsource the work. Best way to find an idea is to identify your problems or other peoples problems and create the solution for them.
In my opinion someone who is new to making money online with no or little knowledge, it's extremely daunting. I recommend buying and selling wholesale or product creation via Amazon or eBay to be the easiest foot in the door. I also find learning a new skill like the ones above and freelancing to be an easy start.
Blogging, youtube, e-books, courses, affiliate marketing ALL require you to have decent knowledge about marketing and advertising. Learning this takes time but it is most certainly a skill/knowledge you want to have. You will need to know marketing for you to be able to sell ANYTHING online. It's just some things are an easier step in the door than others.

while I can't figure out how to set up an online product store, with amazon or ebay. I am more likely to join a product network marketing company and use online to grow and build my customer and team base.
It could be link from camming to affiliate marketing was right in front of me so I jumped on that, I took whatever I learnt in computer camp as a kid and whatever classes I had in high school where computer based heavy. I rolled into that pretty quickly plus hours on the computer when my parents where at work. just let me down the rabbit whole of google, and community websites.

My degree is in education, which i did for a long time and are done with for obvious reasons. And i resist going back to a 9 to fiver. I'm an entrepreneur at heart, and love my freedom. Reals estate and even cleaning i would do if it's on my terms. I'm basically looking for exit plans.
I'm wondering what she means by "done with for obvious reasons"? (I'm referring to her as "she" because this thread is 2 years old and I'm not sure if she's even here still. I haven't made it all the way through the thread).
My degree is in education and I may go back into it eventually.
So, by "obvious reasons", is she saying because she worked in the adult world, she cannot go into teaching?
Curious.
Also, I can so relate. I absolutely love my freedom and I refuse to return to a 9-5 gig.
Camming spoiled me. I feel the same way when it comes to "my own terms".
