11 hours a day on cam for a week would probably kill me. I can't be on cam for more than a few hours. I've been streaming for a couple of weeks and haven't even got payout yet. Don't stress about $200 in a week, especially considering that's more than the average monthly wage where you're from! That amount would pay my rent and bus fares for a week.

I would say u consider $200 in 5 days 'very little' because u compare to the high amounts of money u read around here some people make on cam in a day maybe?!
You have high expectations for a newbie lol, that people are well established in cam business and even they might be new on a certain cam site they might not be new in the business so they know what to do how to do things and maybe have a huge following.

What did u expect lol, 2k in a week already?! I say it with love, just take it easy, dont ever believe that if u 18 and beautiful men will throw with money on u, cam business is not what it used to be years ago.
Just be realistic & dont expect huge money right away, others work very hard to get there ;) xx

^^ echoing the above post, I saw a girl on MFC with new model status fly up the ranks to page 1. But whilst she was new to MFC, she'd been stripping for years and was clearly very good at it, the physical skill set but also the huslte.

First of all you are beautiful.
Second of all stop stressing so much about what you will make and what you won't, if you stress and have negative thoughts in your mind you will attract those things in your life. "I won't make my goal today" - if you go with that thought on cam there's a good percent you won't make it.
Smile as much as you can, be erotic, don't have the same position on cam, put on the songs that make you feel good and motivate you. And if I were you I would consider looking a bit at the top cam girls and see if I can apply in my shows what they are applying.
Some people here say that camming and big bucks won't happen over the night. I don't consider that to be true. If someone likes you and your style they will go for you in the next second.

The most important thing: don't be stressed, don't look stressed, put on a real smile and be happy.

There are many camsites: chaturbate, myfreecams, cam4, bongacams, naked.com, cams.com, streamate, livejasmin, imlive, adultwork, flirt4free, xlovecam, xcams, eurolive and the list could go on.

In this job whether you are on a token site or on a private based site you have to be creative.

Don't start split camming from now. You are a newbie and you don't have any kind of support. Give exclusive attention to the sites you want to try. Let's say try cb for 2 weeks and a half, watch others girls hustle on there. If you want to try two cam sites you could let' say stay 4 hours on chaturbate, take a break then try SM.

Chaturbate has the largest traffic out there and it's the most innovative site. Some girls might have more traffic as they were there since it was a little project. If at its beginning it had 300 models, now it has 800 online. It's normal that models who have a history will get more people in their room because: 1. they have a following 2. the sites cares about those who put their efforts in it.

Good luck and I hope we will hear again from you good news!

And cam business isn't what it used to be, it's actually much more lucrative than it was ten years ago. Why? Because it has much more exposure. Are there many models? Hell yeah, that's why we need to be different and "shine"!

Be happy and bubbly. Try to draw people in with conversation. Talk, don't type. Charge for pm's and c2c, so you aren't overwhelmed with them. Remind people regularly to follow you, so when you send out the message to announce that you are online, they will get it and know to look for you. You don't need a fancy profile, but if you can put some info about yourself and a list of your prices, it can help, especially if you're like me and forget what you want to charge. Make sure you are consistent, so people know to look for you and the people who've seen you before are probably on again. Play some games and use the apps. You could have one of the prizes be a private or date or whatever, but hopefully they will get to know you and feel more attached from that. Make sure to use hashtags, preferably the ones that aren't used a lot, so you are more likely to come up when people are looking for something interesting. Move around, dance and have fun. I have happy, fast paced music with a mix of stuff I just have to get up and dance to.

That's a pretty good summary of what has been working for me so far. Oh also definitely try Token Keno, people really love playing that. Now I had my first really slow day last night. Maybe because a lot of models were on, but I was also really tired and not as bouncy and playful as usual. 11 hours might be too much and you might not be peppy enough by the end of it. It might be easier to break your hours up, so you get some down time. One thing that I haven't tried yet, but will be trying soon is working several different sites, so if one site is down or slow you have another you can go to. CB I think is my primary, but I also think I can afford at least 2 days a week to try SM for example.

Umm a few more things because my brain won't stop giving me more tips to write lol. If you are working your room and playing a game, don't take privates that will take long. A few quickies while it's a bit slow and the game isn't close to winning won't hurt, but don't be neglectful. I found that setting a day for just privates, where I was interacting with my room less worked really well for me too. I was doing homework and people had to take me private to stop me. I am willing to do a lot of kink, so I make sure people tell me what they are looking for ahead of time. It might be easier for you to do the same. ^_^ Okay, I'm going to stop for now lol. Best of luck <3

Camming isnt all in the looks, its a salesjob above all. You can be the best loolking model and still earn crap if you cannot entertain your custies and sell yourself

Also sexyness comes in different forms in my opinion
You can LOOK "sexy" and do well on for example pictures (also sexyness is different for each, what some like others dont. and you do have a strong style which seems to lean a bit to the alternative side which will also influence your clientbase)
And than you can BE "sexy".. being sexy isnt mostly about looks (though it always plays a part) but includes personality, movements, language/tone of voice, facialexpressions etc.
Looking sexy on cam for me is secondary than being/acting sexy

Take your time to learn how to work your room, dont expect the moon and the stars on your first times, weeks, months camming
Dont get mad at youreself or upset, just keep learning and expanding your skillset and youll get great
You are just starting up, dont compare youreself to girls who are maybe allready doing this for years. Best way to loose some anxiety is to stop looking at other models. do it when you want to study and learn and see it as lessons, but dont watch them when yuou feel down. When you are online working, focus all your attention on working, and converting sales.

I logged on one nite for fun.. ate my dinner in my pajamas, gave them a tour of my house.. just chilled.. and I had over 100 guys in my room lmao!.. and managed to make it to page 2.. I started on like page 11 when I signed up...Maybe try something like that.

I started in chaturbate five days ago and just make... 200$. i look like snow white, 18, dance, make normal goals (like 25 flash and my pvt is 12 per min.), smile, new lingeries, makeup, have a logitech 920, put tags, be fun...and nothing...the max is 50 guys...I'm crying :'( I cant be that bad...there is a lot of NEW girls with bad cameras and not that good shows in first page :'(

What's the difference between a sales job, a snow job and a blow job?
One of them is hard to swallow.

Yea my first 2 weeks I made $182 and I have been doing this for 13 yrs.. and I have done porn and I market myself.. lmao.. this is my 3rd week on there and I made over 200 so far.. so I am getting better.. It's a side site to me.. until it becomes a main site.. any site that is NOT SM is a side site for me if I make over 100 a week on a side site I think i'll keep it... That's good to me.

you need to first calm down. stop being so harsh on yourself. $200 the first 5 days on chaturbate is GREAT! Congratulations for making any money with a saturated market and an abundance of free porn. I sincerely mean that too. My first 2 weeks on CB, I made $126.

This is a learning curve, you'll get better. And exactly what Staples said, stop comparing yourself to other girls.

you are seriously making mountains out of mole hills. You were given lots of great feedback, advise, and criticism. You have all the tools you need, now time to apply it.

http://curvywinona.blogspot.ca/

Check this blog out from CurvyWinona... it's basically the holy grail of cam girl 101.

Nice pic in the first thread... but that doesn't really matter for camming. Any and all kinds of girls are desired on cam. More often then not looks are just one factor of what it actually takes to be successful. All of us have good days/weeks vs bad.

Just focus on getting your schedule, hustle, making content, consistency, gaining followers, social media going and it will all fall into place eventually. But keep in mind that all this doesn't happen poof overnight. Not many girls turn their cams on and become instant successful. Lots of cam girls have part time jobs to keep their income going when they first start off until they can afford to quit their vanilla job.

Do you know that the average business takes up to three years to break even (at least here in Canada)? That's not the case with camming... so if you stick to the things I mentioned above you can probably be making a decent living within a few months, which is remarkable compared to a vanilla business. Some food for thought...

I use to be on MFC and I didn't realize how depressed and and stressed I was from it until I quit and went to SM. My pay cheques yoyoed so badly I was on the brink of a breakdown by the end of it all. When I first started on SM I was so happy making an average $35 an hour by the end of the first year. It took lots of hours of work but I am averaging well over double that on a regular shift now. No one handed that to me except myself with my drive and determination.

I agree with you to a point. I was one of the lucky ones who made a ridiculous amount right off the bat (hence why im so spoiled now). Having said that some sites, some personas, and let's face it.. some models, DO requiremore work putting into them before seing results, or at least serious results. And making good money on one site doesn't guarantee you will on another (trust me!). Earnings will always improve with experience, better equipment, knowledge of marketing, and more time online building up regulars x

I'm glad OP is feeling better. I get where she's coming from. I've been reading and watching cams and forums for almost six months before I signed up to SM. Good lighting, good cam, good internet, funny, intelligent and amazing at sex. I knew it'd be an uphill climb with a big learning curve, but I think deep down I assumed I'd be a natural and do really well. Not being an overnight success can be hard to swallow, particularly if you're like me and often find things easier than other people do.

Im not sure if anyone else mentioned this so far, but if you are on Chaturbate, you CAN change the prices of your privates and group shows. I started with mine at 30 tokens a minute from day one. Some days the majority of my tokens came from privates. Don't sell yourself short by having your prices too low or it will take you many more hours to make what you want to make.
Watching other girls will mess with your head. Try to beat your own goals, your own best days, etc, not theirs. I still watch other girls then feel bad because I have seen them make 10k tokens in one day, and I think, "I want that, why can't I get there?" 1. Who doesn't want that many tokens in a day. 2. This train of thought isn't worth the stress it brings. Its a bad habit we gotta break.
The first time I broke $100 on Chaturbate I was broadcasting for 12 hours. But I kept going on and on and on, and now I am okay with how much I make there, but if I always compare myself to someone I see making more, I will never be happy.
Focus on things you can control. The hours you work, your show content, the attitude you project, how many and what sites you cam on. The rest will come if this is what you want to keep doing.

This. I know that those "Camming ROCKS..." or "I make $2,000 a week" threads may be very inspiring and amazing for some to read, but there are others who read them and wind up feeling shitty for not making amounts that high. And then you've got the prospective or new cam girls probably reading that, probably thinking that the money is gonna consistently be like that all the time for them too.

I gotta get some Dunkin Donuts coffee and groceries, but I'll revisit this thread later. :)

^^^ i know right? from the thread title i got the impression there is something terrible happening with the poster but then got to read what? 'Only' $200 made in 5 days on CB?! LOL

Yeah, these challenge threads & 'camming rocks ...' is probably what made the OP have very high expectations but back to reality now, things are not like that for majority of the cammers.
While these threads inspire some people who are let's say camming already & want to make more it does 'harm' others that start camming with high expectations or get into camming because of the amounts they read in these threads then get all disappointed for not being that easy to score the big money.

Sam38g
04-08-2016, 11:41 AM
In general girls only watch those in the top rows of a cam site & see performers banking, they never check out those on the bottom of the second, third or last page of a cam site.

There is no guarantee anyone will or will not make money at camming. On any day at any time newbie or been in the game for a while.

While you can use others as a bench mark on how much can be earned, this really is about concentraiting on your own hustle.

It is a job of constant trial & error to make money.

Film clips-from your shows or when you're offline-and upload a few every day to every clip site so you're visible. Sign up for every indie site. Sign up for pso and sexting. Also, try cam4-I think they pay something per hour for your first however many hours outside of tips. Splitcam your ass off. Make every hour you're online as profitable as possible. Make a Twitter and a tumbler.

Yes, exactly. I avoid those threads unless I think I can realistically reach that goal in a week. It's motivating for me to push myself to earn an extra $300-500, it's extremely demotivating to watch a thread where I'm way out of their league. I would suggest OP avoid those threads as a newbie. I am six months into camming and consider myself fairly successful in being able to grab $1K-$1.2K/week, considering how much time I've put into it up to now.

That said, OP, see those above stats? Great right? Well I make MAYBE $20/night on CB as a new model there. Like I was really psyched when I made $48 one night. I make the kind of money above on sites I've put 6 months of work into, not as a fresh face anywhere.

Up your prices. most girls charge 18tk per minute or more on pvt and 50tk for flashes. you'll double your earnings if you do. maybe be more talkative and try some games.

Ok, im not half as cute as OP, not even a quarter. My body is imperfect, I have a bit of a tummy, stretch marks, etc But I'm very personable, fairly pleasing to the eye, self confidant, snarky, well read, geeky and engaging. I can talk about damn near anything and I fear no one. Its taking me a bit longer to build a clientele, but the clientele I do have is incredibly loyal. Just have to find your hustle. I can't do what someone else does, never could, learned that ages ago. Once I started doing me, everything else fell into place.
I'm usually fully dressed when I start my shows, I may show a bit more skin on token sites, but "I woke up like this" or "Just in from the office" etc scenarios work better for me and dray the type of client im looking for. I cant compete with porn hub so I don't try. You'll find your stride eventually and be able to hopefully make a decent living eventually. Every job has a learning curve, this one is no different.

Token sites are ALWAYS harder to start on. I made about thirty an hour my first day-around this time of year-on a non-token site in 2008. I would recommend working on SM until you're making what you want on cb if you like a token environment better. I'd tweet and promote the shit out of my cb room right now, if I were you. Best of luck!

I'm sure you're adorable as hell and perfect for that site. But I have to let you in on a little secret: token sites are the most sites for beginners. You have to go on there with a niche, an action plan, and some content. But there is some good news: CB is the perfect place for most newbies. Contradicts what I said, right? You could make it work if you put the hours in and liven up your shows. So you can either stick it out and keep hustling on there. ORRRRR you could try some private-based sites like SM, which is great for newbies. Just make sure you have a plan in place for all your shows, no matter what you do.

You've only been doing this for a week, right? Give it time. Camming is a business. Businesses don't achieve success overnight. It takes a lot of time and planning. In the meantime, you should sell content. Guys love content, especially on SM and MFC. Plus it gives you a room topic. :)
