I always double book/overlap bookings. I time everything to the t. Someone is always going to be early, someone is always going to be late, some one is going to flake.
I've learned to ask for a 50% deposit for past flakes before considering to agree to seeing them again. You're not going to waste my precious time.

My favorite motto to put on profiles is:
You get what you pay for. The bitterness of poor service lasts longer than the thrill of a low rate.
I had an 12hr overnight for 1k when I was a newbie, fake slept for 4-5 hours.

Oh learning the difference between a John, Client, and Hobbyists the hard way.
Ugggh.
Clients are so rare.

^^ Exactly. I think a client who will try to negotiate rates will try and "negotiate" certain activities that you say no to, like going bb. LOL @ fake sleep, I've done that too ;-p

Wait so what is the difference between a John and a Client.. Client I'm assuming is more high end, loyal, clean, respectful...?

I started a thread on this but I'll mention it here. Guilt. I feel extreme guilt when I turn down an appointment, not cause I'm burn out but simply cause I'm feeling lazy. There's just no excuse... ugh I hate the feeling afterwards...

Yes.
Client will check in and let you know when he's in the area. Respects the time and rate. Rebooks.
A John will try to have you come see him outside of a booking for free because 'coffee'. Overstays welcome. Unaware of provider etiquette.
Hobbyist is as we all know, collecting experiences like pokemon cards.

Very new at the game and feeling very discouraged. I have this one regular John, well he is more irregular these days, sometimes cancels 2 hours before we met. He makes weird comments, always whinges that I will not kiss him. So recently he was talking about booking a weekend away for Christmas and how it would cost. We had it all figured out then yesterday he cancels our weekly session, 30mins!!! Before we were supposed to meet. I am so ready to just cut him off, he is wasting my time. I can't plan my life around when he wants to meet.

This guy is clearly showing a pattern of cancelling last minute. Once it becomes a habit, or sometimes honestly I've had one too many cancellations. I block the client w/o notice - they don't deserve any at that point. There's nothing I hate more than last minute cancellations, so when they have some lame ass excuse (or don't offer one at all), I won't respond to them again. They are taking up your time that you could be dedicating to worthwhile clients, who respect that you are running a business.

Confession: The other day, I was meeting a client at a restaurant first, had Pokemon Go open as I was walking up, and saw a rare pokemon on the tracker down the street. I veered away to go catch it. I was only a few minutes late and said that I'd forgotten something in my car.
I caught that pokemon!

RANT- eccie kicked me off because I didn't post ads (I assumed that it was like other boards where you can just lurk for long periods of time.) I keep seeing rumors that they have "heat" drama similar to what Red Book was experiencing so I'm going to chalked this up to "maybe it's for the best."
side note- p 411 added a "No Contact" feature. Thank GOD.

I am SO happy about that! It hasn't happened often, but a couple times where a guy on P411 got fucking weird and I didn't want to start drama with him and potentially ruin my reputation, but I did not even want his messages popping up anymore. They both eventually disappeared but it sucked not being able to block them.

I really want to use certain photos on my website, but I cleaned my closet and no longer own like half the lingerie I used in my photoshoots. Theoretically, this shouldn't matter because it's not like I look different in real life vs. the pictures, so it's not "false advertising" or "too old pictures" but I've learned the hard way before that clients get really perturbed if they like the clothes in a certain pictures and then I tell them I don't own that outfit anymore... Why does it even matter? It's gonna be on the floor in 2 minutes anyway. -_- You already have the picture to look at.

Guys are really visual so some "fall in love" with a mental picture...is my guess.
I didn't hear too much of this but I think since I traveled so much guys figured there was only X amount of outfits I could cram into my car.
