Also You should really have a dedicated graphics card. This goes a long way to processing clips quickly. If you want to be really fast build your own computer with an AMD 1800x It leave Intel in the dust and it costs less and then you can start with 12GB of Ram and as much hard drive as you can afford but add onto it later on.
Building your own computer is not as difficult as it seems. There are a ton of Youtube vids that can show you how and you will have a great machine! I built both of mine and used a so so graphics card and the AMD processor and I could process a clip in 4 mins. (I timed it) and now I have upgraded to a kick ass graphics card and I have more hard drive and ram waiting to be installed I can process a clip in lightning speed and I can even be gaming while I do it!

I really need a Macbook Pro 15in with the touch bar solution for the excessive amount of dongles I have attached (one for my extra monitor plus 2 usb ports) + another dongle with 4 USB ports. I know Henge makes a dock but it seems I still will have dongle accessories for my USB ports. Any suggestions???

I guess a computer can't have enough USB ports nowadays and no USB port is big enough :)))) I started to have wet dreams with endless ports USB hubs :)))

Can I ask what length clip you processed in that time? I was looking at an i5 8400 with 1050 graphics card and 8gb ram.
I've looked at what you suggested above and it's about 200 cheaper but looks like there are newer processors now.
Would you still suggest the amd over intel? I don't game, just stream and process HD clips, some of which are quite special effect heavy.

I want to add a good gaming desktop to my amazon wish list especially since it's almost Christmas time. What brand and specs would be a good one since I split cam? I'd like to have several monitors hooked to it too

I started to upgrade my pc, slowly and I started with a monitor. I have a 21,5" crap shit that is tiring my eyes and I can barely splitcam on it, because the camming software or browser page are taking too much space.
I wanted to buy 2 monitors, but my budget is limited so a bigger one is a good start, for first https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/accessories-and-monitors/monitors/home/L27q-20-27-QHD-MonitorHDMI%2BDP/p/65D4GCC1US
It seems to be the best deal, I looked to be QHD and have IPS techology (better for the eyes, because I am spending lots of hours on cam).
I wanted to buy a Dell Ultrasharp, but it was like $100 more expensive and I decided to stick with this one, considering that my $80 crap monitor has served me well for 4 years, this one it's gonna be a real upgrade.

Speaking of that, for 2018- 2019, can anyone list a good specs combination for a Desktop PC? My budget is about $2500. I want to build it myself, not buying it already built.
I want it to support Jasmin, Streamate, Imlive, Cams and maybe one more camming site+ my usual shit (youtube, skype, etc)
Prefferably to not go over 50% in CPU with all that? Do I ask for too much?:))))
I remember, back in 2013, I was able to handle 6 sites with my i7, 3rd gen. Now I can barely handle 3 :D.

I bought this and it's a beast. If you're building your own then you should know enough about what you'd need for you. I'm not really hip enough for that so I bought a pre-built one. I'm super happy with it and I use it for gaming as well.

Yep! It's fast and has a great video card. It's a powerhouse. The only thing I don't do is split cam, but I know it would handle it fine. I never use over 19% CPU camming on the highest settings on Streamate.

Thanks Solo!
I see that it's an AMD tho.
I am looking to get an Intel processor and now I am confused, wich one to pick, they all seem to be simmilar uughh!! I really don't want to invest a cent anymore, in the next 5 years hahaha!
- Intel Core i7-7820X, X-Series- $529.00
- Intel Core i9-7900X, X-Series- $1190.00
- Intel Core i7-8086K Coffee Lake - (This one is my main pick, so far)- $469.20
- Intel Core i7-8700K Coffee Lake - $358.99

^^^I plan on building a computer as well. I saved all of the parts that I was going to buy but that was years ago so alot of the parts are old. There are tons of new graphics cards and processors out now so I need to do some research and update my list so that my build will be up to date. I know you aren't looking for pre-built computers but I was looking into these...
iBUYPOWER Gaming PC Desktop 9200 i7-8700K 6-Core 3.7 GHz (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078H7WQ8B/?coliid=I2DKW47NKEJAA8&colid=1ECVBA4D6W7Q1&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it)
SkyTech ArchAngel GTX 1050 Ti Gaming Computer Desktop PC FX-6300 3.50 GHz 6-Core (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M3UKNVD/?coliid=I2JXY3NRN6ZXPY&colid=1ECVBA4D6W7Q1&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it")
iBUYPOWER Gaming Elite Desktop PC Liquid Cooled AM8480i Intel i7-8700k 3.70GHz, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075X2CW26/?coliid=I3CSSAD5C3S6EM&colid=1ECVBA4D6W7Q1&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it)
Anyways to be able to split alot of sites you need quad core or more. I only understand most things on the surface level but from my understanding from what some of the ladies on here said and from what I've gathered from tech videos is that the more cores and threads the processor has the better it can handle multiple tasks and heavy tasks like splitting and video editing.
Here is a great video that explains cores and threads.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNeGdUINSj8
If you google the name of a processor and click on the https://www.intel.com or https://ark.intel.com link under performance it will tell you how many cores and threads the processor has and what the speed of the processor is.
Intel Core i7-7820X has 8 cores with 16 threads with the processor speed of 3.60 GHz and turbo max speed of 4.30 GHz
Intel Core i9-7900X has 10 cores with 20 threads with the processor speed of 3.30 GHz and turbo max speed of 4.30 GHz
Intel Core i7-8086K has 6 cores with 12 threads with the processor speed of 4.00 GHz and turbo max speed of 5.00 GHz
Intel Core i7-8700K has 6 cores with 12 threads with the processor speed of 3.70 GHz and turbo max speed of 4.70 GHz
Also the higher the model number for instant 8086k vs 8700k the newer the processor is. Alot of times you want to stick with parts that are newer because they tend to be more up to date with new technology. When I look for computers I look for whether its an i7 (or higher), how many cores it has, how fast the processor and turbo max speed is (because I am impatient as fuck and need my devices to be fast), what graphics card it has (I tend to stick with NVIDIA), how much memory it has, how much memory can be added and and sometimes whether its upgrade-able or not.
IMO best to worst based on the specs is i9-7900X, i7-7820X, i7-8086K, i7-8700K. All of those processors are great though. Anyone of them should be fine for splitting. If I were to choose for me I'd choose one of the top 2 because they have more cores and threads and the speeds are great.

WOW, thanks a lot for all of this!!
Now it all makes sense! Thanks!!
I think I will stick with the i7-8086K. An i9 might be a bit too much for my needs, I guess.
- I'll get a GTX 1070 8GB graphics card
- 500 GB SSD
- I need to find a good motherboard and a good cooler :)))).
Anyway, this time I am gonna save money, every month, $50 here and there. So, if I ever have to upgrade the new PC/ get a new webcam or a new monitor, I will have funds immediately. We can't make money without computer so it's essential to not look at the money and ALSO have some quick money reserve, to fix any issues.
For the moment, I am upgrading my actual I7 3rd gen with a new monitor and a GTX 1060 3GB graphics card (apparently, my crap nvidia 650 1024 MB grahic card can't support a QHD monitor lol) and hopefully in a month I will buy my new PC.
I will come back and list all the components and I'll come up with printscreens and shows you how it does support the sites and everything.
PS If there are girls here who split on lots of sites and have a good desktop system, please list your computer scpecs and a little print screen with the CPU usage + the sites you're on? Of course, if you want.
It would help lots of girls!

Hey Im late to the party on this one but I have to cut in and say that AMD is the new Intel. Intel used to be the IT processor to have but after the Ryzen 1800x came out it changed the game!! Its gonna beat out these i7's AND its a fraction of the price! Seriously you can get this processor for $250 American and its amazing for camming and/or videos plus its super great as a gaming computer. Save yourself the money and go with AMD especially if you are building your own computer. Now you can also do any of the newer AMD's they are getting better and better but you will pay more money and the 1800x is a great processor and you cannot beat that price!
I also recommend NVIDA for a graphics card and yes you can add ram as you go. I just added a bunch more to the computers we built at the beginning of the year cause we didnt have the $ for it when we built them.
Sorry no info on split camming cause I never do it but I think any of these processors mentioned would handle it. What you really want is a great graphics card on top of what you get and of course a great cooling system so you can over clock the fucker! I personally went with fans cause I dont trust water cooling technology just yet.

This year I got myself two decent machines.
Acer Aspire TC-780-ES13 Desktop Computer (DT.B89AA.020) | Intel Core i5-7400 (3.0 GHz) | 12GB DDR4, 2TB HDD, Intel HD Graphics 630 | Windows 10 Home
Acer Aspire ATC-280-EB11 TC (Refurbished) Desktop PC | AMD Core A10-7800 3.5 GHz | Graphics AMD Radeon R7 | 12GB DDR3 UDIMM, 1TB HDD| Gigabit LAN | Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Both machines with shipping delivered two different dates. I purchased them a month apart cost me $1530.
For the speed they are giving me with my 300 gig up and download internet speed. It has definitely increased my ranking on streamate. just need to stay on cam more to see if it will have any effect on increasing my income.
I also have to get myself a laptop and another monitor so I can work multiple sites at once. the challenge is setting up the system in a way that works well for being on cam long hours.

You're right, I've seen very good reviews for the new AMD Ryzen 2700X . It's competing with the Intel Core I7 8th generation, for half of the price.
I am debaing if I should upgrade my actual PC with this AMD, but I'd also have to change the RAM and the motherboard so it's basically a new PC :))) Still debating... but I take this seriously into consideration...

You are so right. I was just watching a video on the Ryzen/AMD a few months ago I think it was Linus Tech Tips. I totally forgot about the Ryzen and how AMD is basically coming for Intel's neck. I'm going to have to look more into building a pc with the Ryzen/AMD because like you said its so much cheaper and you're getting the same if not better specs.

Ahhh, my beauty is heree!!!
I can't wait to put it to work (it's cold and just had it delievered, so I have to wait 2-3 hours, to get to room temperature).
It's huge, comparing with my old monitor. I thought I need 2 monitors, but I guess this one is enough for now. I split on 3 camsites anyway, only.
I like that it has some blue light filter, wich is gonna help me with my eyes, considering I'm working so many hours. My S9 phone has this function and I often use it at night, when I sruf the web before I sleep. It actually helps a lot.

Later edit: I am finally using it and... wow. The 1440p quality is superior. I need to get used to it tho, because the screen is bigger and everything else is smaller :)). The overall view is just mind blowing for me, haha, everything looks clear and smooth and... somehow... elegant. I don't know how to describe this.
And the Youtube videos in 1440p... ahh...!!!!

As a conclusion, now that I have a few hours of using the new monitor:
I can't get back to the old one :))) For girls who are splitcamming on more sites, this is HOLY GRAIL!!
I finally have all the windows in front of my eyes and see when someone is talking, on any site. For splitting on 3 sites it's just PERFECT!!
It looks so professional, I almost feel like I am using an All in one Apple system hahaha!
I cannot reccomend enough a QHD 1440p monitor, I love that it has 178 degrees view angle and I can finally lay on bed without having to stretch my neck to see something, because the screen was turning dark.
And speaking of that... the colors are AMAZING, the black is intense, the colors overall are intense.
IT's also perfect for video editing because it has a special video mode, where the intensity is increased.
Girls, I supper reccomend you a monitor like this, if you're working long hours. It's gonna change your life!!! I post the ink again, if someone is interested (don't worry, is not refferal or anything). It's the cheapest IPS monitor on the market, right now and since black friday is here+ Xmas sales +January sales, you might get it at a very good price!!

I super love this! I think Im going to redo my living room and replace the tv (which no one in my house uses) with a desk and make it my work area and Im just thinking how sweet it would be to have this screen there to replace the tv but also to have for work! I think Im going to redo my living room and replace the tv (which no one in my house uses) with a desk and make it my work area and Im just thinking how sweet it would be to have this screen there to replace the tv but also to have for work! I love that it has the blue light filter as well! I need this in my life!
I am glad I could help, the monitor is amazing. Btw, keep in mind you need a decent graphics card, if you want to "milk" all thw quality. For example, I have a crap graphics card (gonna get one soon) and youtube in full hd is kinda... meh.. the image is a liiiiiitle bit blurry/fuzzy, idk how to call it. It doesn't have that sharp clear thing.
My bf is gonna buy himself for his office, 2 of theese, but the 24" version.

Is it overkill to get a computer with 32GB of RAM? I've been in love with one and hopefully can get next year. I plan on doing splitcam and support 3 websites.

Ok I already have a freaking awesome custom built machine that i use for camming and clips, but it is HEAVY as fuck. I want a pretty little lightweight that can still handle a bit of cam. I don't really need to splitcam too much on it. It's mainly for working (Non adult obviously) in coffee shops. I really like the Microsoft Surface Laptop and the Surface Pro 6 - are these way overkill/ not good enough?
Blovely

^^Yep they're good enough def overkill for lightweight tasks though. I got the old ass Surface Pro 2 (i5, dual core, 8gb, 1.9 ghz) like 6 months ago and I've been able to; cam on it via OBS on SM, edit clips on it via Premiere and use Photoshop on it quit a bit. I don't do all those task simultaneously but that just gives you an idea of the programs it can handle. If my old ass 2nd generation Surface Pro with some what low specs can handle those programs than a new Surface book or Surface Pro can handle lightweight tasks just fine.

Hi I was wondering if it's possible to cam on an HP with a quad core processor with 4gb ram, 1000tb hard drive? I'm super strapped for cash and went into a computer rental store and this seems to be all they have. I know the recommended is i7 for SM but I can't afford it just yet, has anyone cammed on one of these quad core one's with success?
Thanks
Can you tell us what processor? is is an i7, i5 or AMD? What generation or numbers follow those specs? the 4gb is going to hurt you; I am not sure about actually making it work.

I’m looking into getting a new laptop for camming cause it’s been about 3 years how often do you guys upgrade your
Computer or laptop ? Looking specifically at the msi ge63 raider.
Here are the specs :
6GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GDDR5 Graphics
2x 3W Giant Speakers + 2x 3W Subwoofer
Steel Series Per-Key RGB Color Customization with Anti-Ghost Key
1x Media Card Reader (SDXC/SDHC)
Processor & Memory:
8th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-8750H
16GB DDR4 2666MHz
Drives:
1TB 72000RPM Hard Drive + 256GB NVMe Solid State Drive
Operating System:
Microsoft® Windows 10 (64-bit)
Communications:
Wireless-AC WLAN 2x2 Gigabit + Bluetooth 5.0
Integrated 720P HD Webcam
Graphics & Video:
15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) 120Hz 3ms Anti-Glare Display
6GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 GDDR5 Graphics
Audio:
2x 3W Giant Speakers + 2x 3W Subwoofer
Would this be good for camming? it’s about 1500 so definitely an investment ...

^^ Its fine for camming except that its a laptop! Laptops dont really last long and they cannot be upgraded. If you only cam its fine its got the 17, dedicated graphics card and 1TB Hard drive is nice. I would have hoped for more then 16GB RAM for $1500 (USD??) for that kind of dough you would have though they could put in at least 32GB. You will probably have to replace it again in about three years cause AMD is changing the processor game and that I7 isnt nearly as impressive as it was even just a year ago. If you want a lap top this one would stream fine even on a site like SM but if you dont want to be purchasing new every 3 years (My computer I expect will last me 10 years) you need to get a desk top or build your own desk top. For $1500 I could build you an amazing desk top computer that would allow you to stream on multiple sites, process videos and go online to game all at the same time (not that you should do that but you could :D )
The only thing I would be checking is how many USB ports? I like at least 3 on a laptop.
I had a quick look on Newegg.com and if you go with a graphics card that is 4GB you can save about 500 bucks with everything else the same. Also I was just thinking you might want to wait until after boxing day cause sales!! https://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&N=100006740%204814%20600136700%20601286795%2060002 9658%2050001312&cm_sp=Cat_Laptops_2-_-Visnav-_-AMD-Ryzen_2

Where? How? Everything I am looking at with i7 and 16gb is way over that. Macbook pro with touchbar, the surface laptop, surface tablets, dell xps 15 etc are all WAY over that.

^^ Yeah it probably will be Higher price in a laptop. Im just thinking if you have a desktop you could have higher ram for less cost but its true the laptops you pay a lot for the build and also cause they are all using the intel processors so that puts the price up!

Please help, I am driving myself crazy!
Macbook Pro i7, 16gb, 512 ssd, June 2017 model with touch bar
Or
Dell XPS 15, i7, 32gb, 1tb, 2018 model
I read some bad reviews re the dell but the specs are freaking amazing and it is sooo much cheaper than the mac.
For video editing and audio editing mainly.

where are you shopping? This is really the old Mac vs. PC debate! I would say PC because that is what I know how to use and because I dont want to spend so much on a mac that is gonna do the same thing as PC. HOWEVER some people are loyal to MAC and for good reason they are kick ass computers!! I cannot personally justify the price of them even with their great performance.
You just gotta decide which is for you. The Dell has more RAm and that is a big appeal but I tend to stay away from dell and intel now so I would say if your going with PC find a better computer.

^^^I would go with windows mainly because there seems to be compatibility issues with Mac when it comes to Logitech webcams and streaming software. I know some ladies on here have found work arounds for Macs but windows just seems to be best and easiest for camming.

I would go with either of those over a Dell (although Dell has always served me well I do hear A LOT of people complaining about them) although Im not really a fan of Huawei, always seemed cheap to me. You really dont want to get a laptop with an integrated graphics card. It would really slow you down. HOWEVER if this is a computer for just video editing and webcam is not a concern then I would say any of the ones you listed would be just fine. I agree with Blovely that MAC does pose some compatibility issues and for the extra price tag it would probably just create extra hassle for you.
If you are doing mostly Video editing then you can always buy and external memory with 1 or 2 TB to save all your files rather then clog up the computer spend the money on higher RAM, at least 16GB and if you are doing some light camming, coffee shop stuff, aim for the dedicated graphics card and an i7. With that you can work on any site. Once those specs are met I would just find something that I thought was aesthetically pleasing! You have a beast of a desktop for the heavy lifting so dont go broke or over think a laptop that is only for light tasks.

Yeah I was going a bit crazy yesterday and about to blow the massive tip my slave gave me on a new lappy. Then my hubby reminded me my current beast of a lappy is 32gb, 1tb, latest i7 and latest graphics card so i am better off getting another monitor for it and editing on that at home, then sticking with my original plan to get something portable to do stuff on the go with. So I might go for the surface pro after all, and maybe even just the 4 rather than the 6. I hate computer shopping, i can never decide!

^^ Cant relate! My husband and I just built two kick ass computers last year but this year we have our sights set on a whole new design https://badvolf.com/en/badvolf-desks/ So bad ass! We dont even really need it but we want it so badly and of course we want a reason to buy a threadripper! :D

Threadripper is the processor from Ryzen. Its got 16 cores!! Unheard of and you can run 32 threads off it so like I could cam, process videos and game online all at the same time and this thing wouldnt even break a sweat! We just ordered one yesterday for 530ish Euros! its a great deal cause regular price is like 1000 Euros! I totally geek out when I talk about it but I started building computers with my dad when I was 10 years old. That was our xmas present back then was he would pay for us to build a new computer. Internet didnt even exist when I was 10 (well it did but it was only a DOS program that was mainly used by the military, Im that old :D )

Let me just say I don't cam, but I do Photoshop and play pc games. Look for a gaming laptop as powerful as a desktop in your price range. I've got a 4 year old gaming laptop and it still handles Photoshop and pc and online games very well. Laptop are more expensive than desktop and are very difficult to upgrade. If you want more bang for your buck, get a gaming desktop. I don't know much about Mac's, but Apple products are expensive and proprietary and limiting.

I did finally build a new PC.
I will list the components here with the exact name, in case someone else wants to get a new pc. I won't list the prices, because they are different by each country, so...
Processor: Intel Core i9-9900K Coffee Lake-R
Graphics card: ASUS GeForce® GTX 1060 DUAL 3GB
Motherboard: Asus STRIX Z390-H GAMING
Power supply: Thermaltake Litepower 650W
RAM Memory: Kingston, HyperX Predator (2x 8GB)
Cooler: Thermaltake ISGC Fan 12
SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB (I will replace it, tho, with a faster one. It was the only one available on stock, when I built the PC. It runs good, tho).
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
Case: Just a mid tower thing... your pick. The bigger, the better.
The difference?
I stream on: Jasmin highest settings, Streamate (720p highest settings), Visit X (720p highest settings), XLove highest settings, Imlive highest settings. I also have Youtube, skype and other tabs running.
CPU stays is... drummmsss please... 35%!!!!!!! With 5 streaming sites!!!!!!
Yes. 35%. It doesn't even break a sweat :))))))
I hope it's helpful. In my money, I paid about $1700. Wich is not that expensive for something that brings me money and will not need any upgrade in the next 4-5 years.

Its a pretty good computer. I approve the graphics card (Im a Nvidia girl so glad you didnt cheap out on an AMD) and I love Asus motherboard but I wonder why you went with Intel. Seems like a pretty expensive processor and you could have gotten a lot more bang for your buck with Ryzan. Too late now though and 35% for 5 sites is great. I use to have exactly that running my gaming laptop just on SM with an i7 back in the day. Its really impressive how far processors have come. One question. What kind of screen are you using with 5 websites seems like you would need a lot of screen space do you use more then one or a really large one? Im looking to upgrade my screen for my camming laptop ATM.

I went with Intel because I have been using Intel forever and I didn't want to go on a path I am not familiar with. I know that AMD has gotten very good processors now, but I am just sticking to my comfort zone. Anyway, for work I am ready to invest whatever, because this is my money maker :))) I don't feel sorry at all, for spending on it. Afterall $1700' ish is not a fortune, for what it does.
Oh, regarding the screen, if you look on the previous page of this thread (page 5), I have posted a pic with my new monitor and a link. Indeed, you need lots of screen, because the sites are all eating a good portion of the screen. I have a 27 inch monitor and it's already too small :))))) but I'll stick with it, since one of the sites is direct pvt and I keep the site in the taskbar, the other 4 are occupying each 20% of the screen :)))
So, yeah, for 5 sites, a 27 inch is enough. But, look on page 5 and see what I have, I am very pleased with it.
