Im saving up for it on my NF profile but I'm how wondering how long this webcam to stay reliant ? Thats probably a silly question considering most of use the c920 and they've been out for about 5 years or so but they werent $200 brand new either so I'm wondering how long this cam will be on the market for before it comes obsolete. Its already dropped 25% in price since this thread first came out not even 3 months ago. I dont know much about tech econ tho so it might not mean anything they drooped the price not long after the thread was made a little after it came on the market or right before ? i dunno... They may have changed their minds and thought 1/4 of a grand might have been too steep for ppl lol. For me honestly i thought it was a schooch too much but wanted it anyway .
i just looked at it on amazon between 40 ppl reviewing it - it has an average star rating of 3 and its currently 190 .
Assuming here.... but if there are only 40 reviews and the price dropped not long after launching its probably because it didn't sell like it was expected to. Like you said the price point is high and probably too high for most. Plus most are still using HD and not many have moved over to 4k, so a 4k webcam isn't really needed. Besides a few youtuber's I don't really know many people who are using 4k to film/live stream. I think its going to take alot longer for 4k to become the market standard(if it even does) than HD did.

Just look at it like this- on average, how many c920's does a typical cam girl go through in a year? Idk about you, but I was roughly at 2-3 a year. That's $80 a pop.
the new 4K is $200 or whatever, th is cord is extra thick AND you get a 3 year warranty. That alone is worth it!
and not only have I have customers comment on how crystal clear my cam quality is, but other cam girls message me asking if it's the new 4K, get excited, and say they're getting one.
100% worth it, but you make your own call.
i don't do all my shopping on amazon based on the reviews anymore. They're like fetishes... everyone's got some sort of one or another.
good luck!

I just read the reviews and most of the 1-3 stars are from ppl saying the picture qual is bad and the software sucks. Some reviews also said they cant get the cam to actually output 4K at default it does 1080 and ppl were saying they couldnt get it to go above that so im not sure whats up with that . The ppl who had good computers seemed to love it tho.

My c920 was 3 years old as well lol, but i still want the brio when i can justify it as it's really just a luxury at this point till the cam sites can officially work with them.

I don't know if it's just me, but I cannot get this cam to work on MFC. I've tried updating my browsers and flash and still it will not register. It shows the Logitech BRIO for my microphone but not for the cam option.

Part of the problem with people not having it show in 4k could be that their monitor and show in that resolution. Apparently because my laptop can't do HD my 920 doesn't want to record in HD. I'm trying to figure out a way around this.
Also has anyone tried using this to record videos? I was thinking about attempting VR stuff later this year.

I really want to purchase this but I think I might just stick to using my c920 a little longer. If Streamate can barely handle HD I don't really have a need for it at the moment. I know that around the corner this camera is going to be standard.

And probably more affordable for most ppl. And speaking of that price dropped again on amazon 185 now

£180 on Amazon UK down from £200 and it will only fall further as time goes on I will wait until it becomes the new 'must have' for camming like my current C920's when the price is more reasonable and I can justify buying two of them.
For now there is no reason to purchase something that will highlight all my flaws for such a high price. I'd be interested to see it in action though if anyone wants to point the way to their feed if they have it so I can have a quick nosey ;)

Awesome. BTW what editing software do you use? I'm starting to play with DaVinci Reserve Beta 14 starting tomorrow because I realized after buying it that AVS4You won't edit high quality video. Actually the effect I got it for was coming out choppy, so there is that problem too.

I don't really like this. I can hardly keep my acne and spots covered with c920... I'm worried that this will become the norm now. I get a lot of gift cards lately, so I was planning to buy bcc950. My c920 still works fine, but I really wanted the remote control one. But now I'm not so sure, I don't want to buy it if in the next year cam sites will change their cam requirements. Do you think that bcc950 will still be supported for next, lets say 3 years?
Also, if anyone knows, how is the video quality with it it? Much clearer than c920?

I just unboxed mine, testing it at the moment. The thing I'm LOVING about it is that you don't have to delete the old c920 software and can use the both cameras at the same time. I'm running simultaneously the Brio with SMB and the 920 with OBS right now, and both seem to be working great. Have to stream yet, though.
The biggest difference with 920 (sharpness aside) is wider view angle. That means, if you put the both cams at the same distance from you, Brio will be showing more of your body, and there is less distortion at the edges. Also, Brio is far better at reacting to lighting changes (e.g. big white or very dark objects being shown to it)
I wouldn't say it highlights blemishes that much - at least, not at 720p. I'm looking at myself without makeup right now (and my skin is really far from perfect), and don't see anything that scary. More than that, Brio seems to sort of correct the oily shine.

The Bcc is lesser quality than the c920 but people use it for the remote control feature. I had one and it was useful especially for splitcamming. I only sold it as I prefer having the very latest tech (if I can afford it!). I shouldn't think it will go unsupported any time soon x

I dont think at this time the BCC950 is a good investment. They have older drivers that cant be updated. And I own one and find it awkward. I use to love it. To me having a remote isnt enough of a reason to spend that much when there are better (C920) webcams for available for less money.

I used to have a BCC950, but, as PhatGirlDynomite said, it's really awkward. It takes lots of desk space, has two cables rather than one (those are really short and tend to unplug when you least expect it), and the pan and tilt mechanism has far less freedom of movement than a regular tripod tilt head, so you are gonna have to move the cam around by hand anyway. The software is a terrible pain in the ass to install, too. Not worth the money.

Streaming on SM with Brio right now, working alright from what I can see (SMB doesn't allow to go above 30fps/720p anyway). For those scared of it being too sharp: you can adjust sharpness in the settings. SOOO using the feature to highlight body hair in fetish shows lol.

Yes that sucks, I can never get enough sockets for all these cables. I don't have a lot of desk space either! One of the reasons that I was looking at bcc950 was because I've read the reviews that it has a really good mic. The mic on c920 is bad in my opinion. I have to speak quietly (I don't live alone) and I can be barely heard, it also picks up too much of the background noise. I also have an external mic but it's a cheap one and not working well, it produces some kind of buzzing sound and it's not cool that I have to keep it very close to my mouth so that guys can hear me.
My c920 is ok for now, but has some issues lately (it takes a long time to autofocus, disconnects occasionaly), so maybe I'll have to replace it soon. One option would also be another c920+ new better external mic, but that's also expensive and space consuming.
How is the mic on c922/ c930/ brio compared to c920? Is the mic on bcc950 really that much better because its conference cam?

I love the c922, sound and feed are SO much clearer, crystally so! The BCC honestly doesn't compare to either the c922 or the c920 in terms of quality,
but like i said I found it useful for splitcamming because the remote meant i didn't have to get up to move the cam around, which can be difficult when dealing with multiple shows on different sites at once. I use a c922 and a c920 now and personally i'd recommend sticking with one of those, probably the c920 for greater ease of use until the cam sites catch up with the newer tech x

In all honesty, I don't remember how good was the mic on BCC, but it's been around for like 5 years. With how fast technology advances, there's a big chance newer webcams have better mics.

Mine doesn't look that great. I can't get it to look crystal clear like Zoe's. Did you adjust your encoder settings?I'm using SMB which pretty much adjusts itself. First of all, make sure that: 1) the cam is plugged into an USB 3 port, 2) the drivers are installed correctly, 3) the autofocus is off.

I needed a second mic and wanted something cheap so I ended up getting a TONOR USB Desktop Microphone (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M1Y4GNC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1). If you have to speak quietly you may want to checkout bluetooth headsets/earbud. If in the future you want to invest in a mic Blu Yeti's are good and NEEWER Microphone Suspension Arm Stand (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DY1F2CS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) does a great job of keeping it out of the way (once the black head piece is unscrewed the silver piece can be screwed into the Blu Yeti). I think the mic stand also fits Snowball mics as well.
Not sure if you're talking about computer or electrical sockets. If you don't have enough usb ports you may want to checkout a usb hub. I got a Plugable 10-Port USB 3.0 Hub (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JEPIOOQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) but there are far cheaper Hubs like the AmazonBasics 4 Port USB 3.0 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DQFGH80/ref=twister_B00FB50S0Q?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1). For more electrical sockets I got a Belkin 10-Outlet Metal Power Strip (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BVC0WO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and Belkin 12-Outlet Power Strip (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HPX46U/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
If the main reason you want the bbc is to be able to move your webcam without physically having to and if you can do without remote zooming you may want to checkout pan-tilt heads. Here are a few that I was looking into Ebenk Pan/Tilt Head (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000KNMGR2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=129FV1R1M9O08&coliid=I22QEEL5XRQRCJ), Bescor MP101 Motorized Head (https://www.amazon.com/Bescor-MP101-Video-Motorized-Head/dp/B008T17W9O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1494108370&sr=8-2&keywords=pan+tilt+head), Bescor MP-1E Motorized (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1223151-REG/bescor_mp_1e_motorized_pan_head_with.html), Bescor MP-360 Motorized Head (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bescor-MP-360-Motorized-Pan-and-Tilt-Head-F-HDslr-and-Video-Camera-039-s-/181910708023).
If you want to keep the desk space that you have and are using a monitor with vesa mounting then you may want to checkout camera shelves. Here are a few I came across Mobile Mediacenter Camera Shelf Kit (https://www.amazon.com/Mobile-Mediacenter-Camera-Shelf-Kit/dp/B004L06SVK), Chief PAC-150 (https://www.amazon.com/Chief-PAC-150-conferencing-system-PDS-2023/dp/B00BR361OI), Raxxess TA250 Thinstall Video Conferencing Camera Shelf (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/829817-REG/Raxxess_TA250_TA250_Thinstall_Video_Conferencing.h tml). I went with the Ergotron 97-776-194 SV Camera Shelf (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16848401005) and Mount World 1056 VESA Mount (https://www.amazon.com/Mount-World-Universal-Adapter-Medium/dp/B0036L5RJY/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1494119659&sr=1-2&keywords=vesa+adapter). It will sit on top of your monitor like this....
http://www.ergotron.com//Portals/0/Reserved/Parts/7f84bddb3fde45309905d34abbcd409b-560x500.jpg
The pt heads have a tripod hole and the Ergotron shelf comes with a screw so a camera or pt head can be secured to the shelf. So if you were to get the shelf and a pt head you can put the shelf on top of your monitor with the pt head attached to the shelf which would give you the ability to pan/tilt your c920 or brio without having to give up any space. I'm not 100% sure about the Bescor but I know the plate to Ebenk can be unlatched so if you ever needed to move just the webcam you'd be able to unlatch it from the pt head.

Thank you, this is so helpful!

Anyone have this cam and using the fml encoder? How do you set your settings? I also have verysoft webcam splitter im not sure how to set it. Do i choose the highest one? And should that be the same as the one inside the encoder settings?

Haven't streamed live with either yet but the quality is definitely better with both and amazing with the brio. The brio has a much thicker cord than other Logitechs and can be seaparated from the camera which is great for storage. Also comes with a storage bag. I have Windows 10. Have used the camera app to play around with recording video since the Logitech software doesn't support 1080p video for either the brio or c922x. There may have been a better software suggestion in here. Need to read back through as I assumed the Logitech software would work with them.

^ ive noticed that too with the c922x that i have - the logitech software for the c920 and c9000 doesnt really work that well with it. its like the new webcams arent compatible with their standard webcam software so they need to make a new webcam control program or make drivers for the webcams so they can be used with the standard program. Every time i unplug the 922x or restart my computer i need to pull out the c920 to turn the auto focus off the c922x because the settings dont save for some reason and i cant switch them with the program like i did when i was using the c9000 for cb and the 920 for sm (i am now using the 920 for cb and the 922x for sm) and always goes back to auto focus being on when my computer is restarted or the 922x gets pulled out from a usb port on my computer.

Hello everyone, I'm new here to SW and am reading this thread for all the great feedback on Logitech webcams. I just found this Logitech webcam comparison grid online and it seems incredibly relevant to this thread, so here is a link to the page: It compares all the different Logitech cams in this thread so maybe it will be helpful. btw I have no affiliation with this blog or any related links etc. I have had the c920 for years and am looking to upgrade too. Hope this helps!

whoa where have i been....i never even heard of the c922
i have used the c930 for like 2 years??? i have been thru 4 of the same cam tho :/ the picture is wayyyy better than the c920 but the wire in it seems to be shitty :/ it will start blacking out when i move it and then they just die shortly after. i have a c920 as back up but i really dont like the quality on that and want to get another......
does anyone use the brio on a mac? i read an amazon review that says it doesnt work with it

This is what 4k looks like from the Logitech brio. 4k looks different across different devices...i.e. webcam, video camera, dslr, mirrorless camera's, cell phones and tablets. Dslr's are a whole different spectrum of camera's and quality...you can't compare webcam's to dslr's. Dslr's as well as most video camera's have way better quality than webcams so that's why her or anyone who use's a dslr feed looks better/more amazing. Also want to add that different lighting, different computers, different Logitech settings can also make the same camera look different.

I just ordered the new CamLink by El Gato per Karina's suggestion this morning. Its a video capture device that connects through hdmi. So if you have a dslr lying around and wondered about streaming with it this should make things easier. I got it for my live streams on the go. I can hook up my dslr to my tablet vs using software that glitches. It should be here in a few days and I 'll report back then. I think it could be a way to save money if for example you already own a dslr but maybe your computer isnt that powerful? Heres the link I chose to get mine through Amazon
This also works with Sony Handycams and GoPro cameras. So look at what you got laying around the house. It just might be compatible.

About Camlink, I use a similar type capture device made by Magewell to stream with my Sony A6000. The thing is with mirrorless/DSLR cameras you also need to get mains power adapters or you are limited by the battery power. You also need a good lens, usually the kit lens is no better looking than a good webcam. Then, you need to invest in come kind of camera mount because tripods greatly limit the ability to do close ups the way you can with small webcams.
In the end, you'll have about 3 more power cords, way more gear clutter and the loss of portability of your entire set up. Plus it costs thousands for a good cinematic lens. However, your picture quality will rival that of a professional cinematographer with beautiful shallow depth of field, (blurred background). If you want to see the capabilities of this kind of set up check out nood.tv, Chloe has it so that she has numerous pro camera set ups through her house all communicating wirelessly. It's incredible. She also does her own coding. That girl is a phenom.

Well I got my camlink set up and its day two. I've been able to live stream to Instagram, Periscope and do a Youtube live stream. And the quality was a major step up from webcam. But I knew that going in. I already stream with my dslr from time to time. But I mostly do this so I can be as mobile as possible on my food truck. Up until now Ive used the built in cam on either my phone or tablet for my live streams on social media. They're okay but I wanted to step it up. So far all of my viewers have noticed the improvement. My one hiccup was streaming on Youtube but that may have been a connection issue? The wifi and the 4g connection toggled back and forth during the stream. All and all I'm excited about it.
Later tonight I'm gonna put in a few hours to test it out with a camsite. Do some splitcamming too. Give it a real test. I most likely will have to use the power pack for my Panasonic lumix dslr. I also tested it out with an old Sony Handycam and it held up. My husband said my stream with handy cam was super sharp but the colors were dull. I'll need to play with it a bit more. But it worked. Still a higher quality than a webcam.
After I do my shift I will report back on how it holds up for more than two hours. Personally for me I can already see the benefit because it's doing exactly what I need it to do. Which is set up shop on the go. I also make clips so being able to have film crew technology that fits into the size of a lunchbox is amazing.

Dumb question: How do we solve the battery problem, from the DSLR cameras? Is there any way to plug the camera, right into a power source? Or I have to have a backup battery and replace it every few hours?
I have a Canon EOS 700D (this one https://www.amazon.com/Canon-18-55mm-3-5-5-6-Digital-Camera/dp/B00BYPW00I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1503455812&sr=8-2&keywords=eos+700d) and I'd love to put it's ass to work...

Not a dumb question at all. And yes you will need to plug your cam into a power source for lonterm streaming. The other night I splitcammed with my Panasonic and got three hours out of it. But I can have it set up all day long if Im doing skype shows or live streams on social like today. Longer shifts will require a battery pac depending on the dslr or camcorder or action cam.

Can I just say that I can't wait to have a dslr with STM technology, I have my eye on the 70D. I had the T3i but didn't use it much so I gave it to my niece. I loved the quality that it gave but the lack of auto-focus got on my dam nerves. I got so excited when I read about STM technology and lens. But anyways you can buy a bunch of batteries and chargers and just keep the batteries charged and just change it out whenever the battery gets low.
There's also a 3rd party power supply for Dslr's that I discovered from a Youtuber (wish I could remember her name so I could give proper credit). There's one for Canon, Panasonic and Sony. There's alot of them on Amazon so I'd read through the reviews and pick the best one.

^^ Third party power adapters are cool, however, they do void your warranty. It's best to use the power adapters made by the manufacturer of your camera. I know Sony makes them for most of their own models.
