I just ordered the new CamLink by El Gato per Karina's suggestion this morning. Its a video capture device that connects through hdmi. So if you have a dslr lying around and wondered about streaming with it this should make things easier. I got it for my live streams on the go. I can hook up my dslr to my tablet vs using software that glitches. It should be here in a few days and I 'll report back then. I think it could be a way to save money if for example you already own a dslr but maybe your computer isnt that powerful? Heres the link I chose to get mine through Amazon

This also works with Sony Handycams and GoPro cameras. So look at what you got laying around the house. It just might be compatible.

I ordered the Camlink and just got it today. I love the size and simplicity of it over the Magewell. However its sucks with Canon t3i because the only output resolution available is 720x480. I was going to use this setup to live stream on SM and was also going to record fedmom clips straight to my computer but seeing as my main goal was to achieve higher quality video being stuck with 720x480 pretty much squashes that goal. Back to the drawing board I go womp, womp, womp. After googling I see that I can get true HD with the t3i if I use the HD60, I might give that a try. I do like the Camlink though I can see it being really handy for other camera's especially GoPro. I seen a few setups with multi-camera angle setups using GoPro's that I want to try in the near future.

That kinda sucks. What year was that rebel released? I'm gonna look around to see if there's a way to make it work at a higher resolution with canon rebels. Or at least verify which cameras specifically work with it at full potential. I still use it quite often and I love it. I'll spare you the details but I used it the other day and a regular told me that certain parts of my anatomy made him think of one of the surgery channels on cable. That's how clear and hd it was with my Panasonic. I'm sorry. I'll do some research.

Bumping this thread, because I am curious if anyone has tried that expensive 4K camera from Logitech (basically is the expensive version of Brio that has a remote controller too). The meetup 4k camera https://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/meetup-conferencecam

I ask because I've seen a model on Jasmin with an EXTREEEEEMELY clear feed. I asked her what webcam is she using and she said that a Logitech 4k
but she was taken to pvt and I couldn't ask what kind.
Ugghh can't remember her nickname either and I had my browsing history deleted too. However, I am more than sure she wasn't using the Brio. It looked WAY too clear and... nice!!!!
I was obsessed to buy the PTZ pro 2, but now... ugh... the Meetup is more expensive but now I am obsessed with this :))).

EDIT: Nevermind, I stumbled across her room again and saw that she was positioning the webcam with the hand, wich means she has the Brio. I am gonna buy it this week and see how it is!!

I know this one. It's too big for camming, I'd rather choose the Ptz Pro 2 (that was my main pick and i was going to buy it soon)+ a microphone separately, because it takes less space and does same thing. Or the Logitech Rally.
This one is for large groups of people and conferences.

I will buy the Brio 4k and see how it does and if i don't like it, I'll give it back and buy a Logitech PTz Pro 2.

There is an awesome camera mount called the Heron that allows you to attach an arm to a desk and have it move almost 360 degrees and set your camera anywhere within 5 cubic feet. I highly recommend it. It works with even heavier camera set ups.

oh wow Hyori, that sounds awesome. I'm gonna check that out.

I use the Brio 4K when on CB and get a ton of compliments when I do. I don't run it 4K stream though yet. I did have my internet boosted and have the right speeds
to run it thru OBS at 4k, but when I do, my OBS view field gets VERY zoomed and I don't know how to adjust that.
I need an hour of free time to figure that out. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to that stuff

I see you said that you're going with the Brio or Pro 2 but I just wanted to chime in since I was considering the Meetup. I looked into the Meetup when it first came out. I was tempted to buy it because I was in the market for a 4k ptz camera but from the few Youtube videos I saw that displayed the quality it didn't really look like true 4k to me. I dunna if it was user error or how Logitech made the camera but the quality looked slightly compressed.

I ended up not getting it because the quality didn't impress me, I didn't like the way the camera mounts (I like that it can be mounted on or below a tv/monitor but I would prefer it to also have a standard tripod mount.), it looked too big to move around for different angles and I hate the way Logitech's cameras Pan/tilts/Zooms.

I've tested the Logitech Pro 1 and Brio. I looked into the Pro 2 as well, I didn't see any difference in specs between the Pro 1 and Pro 2. Even tho the Pro gives you ptz the quality isn't all that great, I ended up sticking with the c920. The quality of the Brio is def better than the Pro and judging from videos the quality is on par or maybe even better than the Meetup.

Quality of the Meetup starts at 0:56. Maybe its just me but compared to the videos that I posted on the first page the Brio looks better.

I bought the BRIOO!!! 4 stream edition.
I FUCKING LOVE IIITT!!!
I like how is smoothing my skin, i feel like a Kardashian with their smoothing effects in their reality shows hahaha :))))

Thing is that I cannot broadcast on SM in 720p because it drops my fps to 10. I have 2x umbrellas with 2x lightbulbs each + 3 ceiling lights and is nor enough hahaha :)))
So I'll buy a softbox with 5 lights.

Ooh it does skin smoothing? Does it do 30fps withoit having to use a splitter?

The razer kiyo which i have is a better cam but doesnt do smoothing as far as i know. I can't get it to go above 20fps either, a problem i also had with the c922 :/

Yes, it does skin smoothing!! :O:O I was like wooot? I noticed that on my cellulite too :))) But yeah, my face looks soo awesome! I don't know if it's because it's Streamer edition, or not, but yeah, I immediately noticed that :)).
But I do stream in 864x 480 at 30 fps, I didn't buy the softboxes yet.
Regarding splitter, I don't know what to say... I use the verysoft, I haven't used it without splitter. Anyway I got a 1 year license for Xsplit and I'll watch some tutorials to learn how to use it lol :)))

So are you guys still using the c 920 and if so is it easy to splitcam with and does it work on most sites? Trying to figure out the best camera to use, I also dont want one that will show my flaws, wrinkles, cellulite, etc.. Im super new to all this and there is alot more to it than i expected..

sexysusie
12-19-2018, 08:02 AM
Yes the c920 is still awesome. I mainly use my razer kiyo now because of the ring light, but i use my c920 pretty often too. I upgraded from it to the c922 but quickly returned that and went back to c920 as sm and adultwork don't really support the c922.

OK Before i go crazy and drop £150 on this thing when i already have the razer kiyo - WHERE do i find out if it really has some kind of skin smoothing setting? I can't see this detailed anywhere. From what I can tell the stream edition only difference is the bundling of xplit, and i don't need that so will continue with verysoft either way.

My kiyo does make me look moderately better than the c920 or c922 did but that is because of the ring light - can the brio do better?

Thank you! I am currently using the built in camera on my macbook and it is so hard, everytime i move i have to adjust camera for a bit, like the field of view is just small it seems, do you think the 920 allows you to move and do everything you need to do in shows without having to adjust all the time? also, can you place the 920 somewhere other than attached to your laptop so you can be close to your laptop reading messages and stuff without having to bring the camera with u?

sexysusie
12-19-2018, 08:47 AM
Hmm I guess that depends how much you move around. I tend to leave it on top of my laptop and just move the lappy if i need to. It actually has a screw hole in the bottom of the stand so I have been meaning to try it out attached to my neweer microphone arm/ mount thingy, so that is an option :) It's pretty much the standard cam that most cam models use, so if you don't need the bells and whistles of the others we are mentioning above, definitely go with the c920, you can't go wrong!

I have the Brio and haven't noticed any difference between it and the 920 with the exception of it having a much wider view so I had to be careful not to have any family pics or clutter on my dressers as they didn't show with the 920

Wich one you have? Stream Edition or the normal Brio?
In the settings you can actually get a smaller view range, you can pick there to 65, 78 or 90 degrees. I keep it on 78 degrees, for same reason, it shows too much :))))

I solved the problem. It wasn't the lights, it was the computer.
I was having windows 7 on the old Pc and the USB 3.0 ports weren't recognising the webcam.

The new PC has windows 10 installed and all the USB ports are 3.0 and 3.1. The camera is now streaming perfectly in 720p at 30 fps!!!! I didn't get the softbox yet so, apparently, my lights are fine :))))
It also goes to 720p in 60 fpos, but the image is freezing a little (I probvably truly need more poweful lights there).
However, so you know...

I bought the logitech brio stream edition too. I can confirm it does smoothing. At first i toguht i am blurry but i checked with support chat & went closer ( like an old lady with bad vision haha) and the image is clear just smoother (when my make up is a mess it doesn't show that much like on c920).

Yeah, the brio does an amazing job. I am camming on streamate with it, for the first time and I checked myself as a guest, with the 720p setting and my stream is clear as fuck. I was like.. DAAAMN!!! hahaha!!
You need windows 10 and USB 3.0, tho, if you want it to stream in 720p at 30 fps.

I am using the stream edition one. I don't know what to say, the only thing you can do, is to get a normal biro and test it and just send it back if you don't like it.
Order from a store that allows that...
Maybe someone here has a normal brio and can tell more details?

From googling the only difference seems to be that the Brio Stream comes with a 12 month X-Split license. Seems like they only repackaged the brio in name in order to appeal to gamers/gamers $$$. That's marketing/branding for ya.

Yes, it does stream much better, I can see myself waay more clear than I did with the C930e. Go for it!
In the worst case, you simply give it back if you're not satisfied.

Can anyone who has both tell me how they feel the Brio compares to the Kiyo?

I think the Kiyo is far more flattering and gives off a much nicer light than my c920 (which I'm using for SM), the C920 is almost dark compared to that and defnitely doesn't have me looking my best, even in natural light! I'm thinking it would be worth the investment if it's on a par with the kiyo?

Thank you :)

The brio blows the kiyo away. The kiyo is super useful for camming in lower light or using for the pretty eye effect but if you already have good lighting/and or a ring light there's no point really when the brio is such higher quality.

I bought this webcam a month ago and I only have good reviews. It's impressive the quality it emits and captures the smallest details. The colors provided by the camera are vivid and precise.
