I don't give a fuck what day it is. Nothing will stop me from working and sucking all that green $$$$ from men. That makes me feel good.
Men suck. Always have..always will. Yeah, I'm a bit of a man hater..so sue me.
Just for the record, I do support women and women's rights..the few we have left anyways.

I do not cam but this thread popped up and it is a subject I am passionate about. I unfortunately have very limited ability to talk about my political beliefs (which are very strong) within the sphere of my vanilla world. I did however manage to work it out so I am "traveling" tomorrow and that is my strike. I will 100% be wearing red. I am excited to see what happens later today

So I was really conflicted about striking, because firstly, I don't consider cam sites to be my boss, and secondly, a strike that isn't backed by a strong union that will cover your ass if you get fired only punishes the vulnerable. Buuut working on SM during a contest is against my religious beliefs, so they've forced my hand.
So I don't think I'm striking? But nor am I working. If you're striking, you have my support.

yes, you are correct in the points that you listed. you are right about how women and men dont go into some of the same occupations, and this screws up the pay gap calculations in accuracy, but we are still being paid less in the jobs that both genders are working in :
The top 10 occupations for women all pay men more on average, including secretaries and administrative assistants, registered nurses, teachers, and cashiers. In fact, out of the 534 occupations tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only seven pay women more than men on average, such as respiratory therapists and stock clerks. The jobs that pay women more on average employ about 1.5 million women, or approximately 3 percent of the full-time female labor force.
The highest wage premium for women is among respiratory therapists, an occupation where women earn 6.4 percent more than men—the equivalent of an extra $62 per week. That is certainly nothing to scoff at, but it pales in comparison to the occupations with the worst wage gap for women: property, real estate, and community association managers. In these jobs, women earn, on average, 60.6 percent of what men do within the same occupation—the equivalent of losing an astonishing $473 dollars per week. Put another way, the wage losses per week of women property managers is about equal to the wage premium that women respiratory therapists earn over two months.
So while the 77-cent figure compares working women and men in different jobs, it is influenced by occupational segregation and the different wages men and women earn even within the same types of jobs.

also the equal effort thing is offensive. we are still getting paid less than men in jobs where both genders are working. we, as women..with periods babies reproductive systems hormones boobs butts, WOC, disabled women ETC...also face unfair and harmful work conditions, prejudice, ignorance etc. dont let people fool you into thinking that we women arent out there and doing it!
Female-dominated industries are the least likely to offer paid sick days, in spite of the fact that women are the most likely to need to miss work to care for a sick child, partner, or parent.

I'm happy to see about 300-400 less models on SM this morning already. I hope it continues throughout the day! Hoping there's plenty of men missing some of their favorite models today. #adaywithoutwomen

and also who thinks that what SM MFC & Chaturbate pays us is fair? how many forum posts are there in here about how SM is screwing us all over with site glitches and low pay in comparison of what were doing and the support we are getting? this is something that unfortunately wont change unless we all all all band together and say no more. and sadly this is a hard thing to do, because so many of us are not in the position to do so. SO back to my initial point being that, if you have any sort of privilege, use it and make someone or everyone aware of whats happening. even if you are only able to wear red, that is perfect.
okay im done now.

Women on average make less than men by choice - the choice to work less hours, the choice to work less difficult/less dangerous therefore lower-paying jobs, and the choice to obtain degrees in academic fields that pay considerably less (such as early childhood education, psychology, social work, etc.) than other STEM-based male-dominated fields, like petroleum or aerospace engineering.
I find it interesting when people say that women make less then men by 'choice' that they don't take into account the academic research that shows that when women take over a male-dominated field that the pay for that job actually declines.

Tell him that is true but men and women aren't being treated equally.
People-men and women can't relate to the struggles until it's affecting them or they've had negative lived experiences. However, a little empathy goes a long way.

They don't get it at all. There's a complete denial in the majority of straight (cis-gendered, is that the right word nowadays?) men that sexism even exists.

Of course men's lives matter. If they were all dead, we wouldn't be able to fleece them for money.;D

That is correct but without the 'ed'. It's just Cisgender, an adjective for someone whose gender corresponds to their assigned sex.

Technically I didn't spend any money yesterday because I bought the seminar tickets online the night before. I did however take quite a few phonesex calls through out the day. Now after not spending any money at all I have no choice but to look at my spending habits. A quick trip to Target turns into $30 for crap I don't need. $9 at Panera when I have soup and sandwiches at home. It adds up. Its got me thinking how beneficial the day really was. But can I stick to a stricter budget, we shall see.

I can't justify putting a pause on my paycheck for the sake of lazy armchair activism.
If anyone's going to criticize us for choosing to work that day, I'm curious to hear what you'll be doing with your time on Wednesday that's so virtuous. Because I fail to see how not working, aka doing nothing, equates to "standing up for women." All it shows is that you're privileged enough to skip out on work with no consequence.
Not doing housework, not taking care of your kids, not showing up to your job -- is not going to "prove" anything. The world is going to function just fine. And then you'll all go back to your duties the next day as if nothing happened anyway. Honestly, no one cares.
Do you work on cam sites that do chargebacks?
How about take money out of your pay for being mean to a customer?
OR in the past if you did quit one cam site NONE other would allow you to work on that site for 6 months to a year.
This is HOW it was for YEARS in the camming industry..... But keep thinking the way you do.
What does defunding of Planned Parenthood have to do with you? or any other female in this biz.
YOU REALLY think politics doesn't affect you? YOU ARE A FOOL> All Utah needs is the Governor's signature to pass a law making it legal for any parent to sue all of us for harm to their child or sex addiction to porn.
GOP wants to take away all women's rights, equality and birth control. The GOP thinks of all birth control being an abortion, including condoms. GOP is waging a war on women, how far will they be from doing it on porn
YOU think these protest don't matter. Wait until what you do for a living is ILLEGAL> cause they are coming for porn too.
What does this prove, that men who want to marginalize us are wrong. YOU automatically think women should be cleaning the house & taking care of the kids. Thought that was a job for BOTH parents. How many men don't pay child support?
GOP wants to defund HUD, repeal laws to protect battered & abused women & children. Right now ICE agents are raiding abuse shelters & anyone who isn't here legally gets deported. Right now, lots of abusers are calling ICE agents on the very women they married or live with rather than face charges of rape or abuse. What about those children from those relationships?
You think protest are bullshit. You are extremely ignorant of history. America was Founded on protest, ever hear of the Boston Tea Party?
T
Ever hear of Civil Rights?
Ever hear of Equal Rights?
Rights for women to vote?
Rights of women to own property didn't happen to the 1970s.
You are greatly mistaken in thinking protest don't work.
Honestly you don't care about equality for women Access to birth control & prenatal care. You don't care about free school lunches for kids who live under the poverty line. You don't care about laws to protect LBGTQ or Abuse women & kids. You dont care about shelter that help abused women & kids as they get defunded too.
Your ignorance of history is astounding. Your ignorance in what is going on in America & the world is astounding. Your ignorance in how the racist/bigoted/sexist agenda of Trump & the GOP is astounding. They all also put money before other people's lives too.

"NO ONE CARES"
Protest do work.
Examples like the Right for women to vote used those exact same tactics.
So did the Civil Rights movement.
You announced that they don't & no one cares. The world is going to function fine... for who? This denotes that politics don't matter to you. That NONE of affects your life & I pointed out how it does. Pointed out directly how affects all of our lives.

I don't think your deduction is accurate. I think you assume she doesn't care about politics because her political beliefs don't match yours.
Honestly whatever happened to the SW ban on political talk? I see more people talking politics here than I do facebook.

I'm not closing the thread. But I will give out points if you guys don't get a hold of yourselves. Not every thread is for everyone and there are so many others to participate in. If the topic isn't for you then move along but insulting one another AND being dismissive in regards to other peoples actions and beliefs is rude and lame. So pretty please knock it off.

It never ceases to amaze me how many of the men who complain about International Women's Day don't ever make one single post in celebration of International Men's Day and who are generally shocked to find out that the day actually exists and *spoiler alert* has been around since the 1990s.
