This kind of reputation attack is typical behavior when organized crime groups sense that their turf is being threatened. Such tricks are reminiscent of the assaults against CastleCops, a once potent anti-scam community that came under a variety of reputation attacks, including DDoS sieges (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2007/02/spammers_declare_war_on_antisc.html) and thousands of dollars in bogus PayPal donations (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/2007/09/the_danger_of_reputation_attac.html) that used stolen credit cards and hijacked PayPal accounts.

Which reminds me of this case recently.

They are not so against porn anymore. Question is where they are headed and if they ever unban normal people who just got caught up in their anti-porn paranoia madness.

I recently got banned from paypal for accepting payment from an adult site :/ maybe the porn sites themselves are in, but independent sex workers are not. Such bullshit. I was on arousr.com which is a sexting website and it was great for over a year then all of the girls got banned.

Paypal is open to porn sites now? They banned me when I made the mistake of accepting that as payment for indy webcam shows and dirty panties. Paypal sucks floppy chode, in my opinion. They make it so easy to reverse payment, no questions asked. Back when I used to have an eBay store, assholes started figuring that out and would reverse the payment after I'd already mailed out their item(s) so that they could have free stuff. That pissed me off to no end. Now whenever a customer or potential customer asks about Paypal as a payment option, I say a big HELL NO!

No they are not. They have a special deal with 1 exclusive processor, Epoch, to process high-risk payments. For this, they charge Epoch quite hefty cut of the sale. Nobody else is allowed to at low-risk rates.

They aren't opening up adult merchant services for individual people. Epoch is the only one with an exclusive deal for accepting hardcore adult payments. Now the Patreon deal is only through that platform but the guidelines on what is acceptable and what isn't are very subjective. I'm banned from paypal for almost ten years now and I even have the email still where I was told that receiving tributes on a particular site was okay, but still I was banned. I've tried three times with the proof to show that my account should be brought back to a full restore, and have been denied each time.

I wonder if cams uses epoch which is why they have paypal as an option for payments.

In theory, anyone can use PayPal for legit payroll for "business to worker". We get hit with offers all the time. The problem is the cascade effect should anyone choose to break the rules and start using Paypal for other transactions. This gets them looked at, and then gets us looked at, and then we lose the ability to pay hundreds of models while the mess gets straightened out.

If you're talking about clients paying with PayPal, then yes, it is likely that Epoch is a part of their payment cascade.

I feel obliged to say that when we relate to an e-wallet service, we need to remember that not all models/independent contractors are located in the US. Not everyone can use it, consumers and freelancers alike in many places around the world.
There are two very different facets to an e-wallet, the consumer one that we all know, and the more complex one of the freelancer or merchant.
I have a few years of experience in e-commerce and freelance with vanilla/mainstream that is made in very challenging geographic locations around the world. What we take for granted for example, a local bank account, credit rating, and even a billing address that can be understood without the service of a US Marine, can get very tricky. Not everyone has the patience for it (I hope I do).
I hope this insight helps.
