Work for yourself? Beats me how anyone could go back to working for someone else after camming 8-s
Working for yourself is the best way to ensure a lot of security that really isn't in the job market anymore. but there are the ones who need to be out there working a JOB even if they are barely making ends meet.
Certain jobs out there will be in demand all the time, so if you can juggle having a side business and your job then you are ahead of the game then most people.

Hello,
I will be applying for retail/restaurants jobs at an airport. Due to the location of the job, I will be required to get a federal background/tsa background check. I do not have a criminal record or a bad driving history but I do know "they" check your professional references and do an employment verification. How do list camming and self employment on my resume? If I do not list it, I will have a 2+ year gap which I will be asked about.
Thanks

Internet consultant/communications for (for example) MFCXY Inc. As far as employment verification I have no idea. If they were able to call MFC, MFC would likely say that you were a performer there or an independent contractor. Following out of curiosity! Good luck!

This is what I put on my Resume (as listed in the Phasing Out Support Group)
December 2013-January 2017 (change this to fit your resume gap)
Provided confidential sales and marketing support to a variety of web-based companies, primarily in the realm of membership based sites or service for fee sites (i.e tele-medical, tele-counseling/therapy, dating sites, etc). Duties included, promoting companies and affiliate programs via social media and online advertising avenues, tracking click-through rates and ROI, promoting special incentives, creating campaigns, selling services and memberships to prospective customers, assisting with technical difficulties, serving as a sales agent via social media pages and assisting with customer retention. Positions were freelance and 1099/commissions and residual based.
Any place where you apply is going to understand that as a 1099 agent you probably will not have references for the work you did. You may be able to get by with having a friend do a reference for you and say that they also did this type of work and you worked on a few projects together or something along those lines.
When it comes to camming and filling in the gap on your resume... the best bet is to always bend the truth... at least in my experience.
Hell, I used to fill in the gap (7 years) by saying I was a Consultant for a Direct Sales company. That works too!

This would be my advice. Just straight up tell them the truth about the webcaming and which site(s). Im gonna go out on a limb here and assume you have paid all your taxes for moneys earned from camming for the last couple of years so you can be 100% honest. Its not an illegal job and your dealing with a federal and TSA check. If they suspect your are already hiding something cause you say, Marketing support or sales when what you really mean is adult webcamming they might not like it that your lying or being elusive.
Worst to be caught lying about it or trying to hide it then just being up front with it.

You can contact me. I used to work for the airport. I also did hiring and interviews for a restaurant in the airport! There are different stages of clearance. Retail and Good are Lower than TSA.

Btw, as a heads up to performers getting back into the work field...I would keep camming and the adult industry away from the interview process. As a former manager, background checks are done via a computer software unless you are applying for a very high security job. The software just tells you “yes or no” if that persons ssn is clear for hiring or not. The biggest factors are: WARRANTS, PAROLE, VIOLENT CRIMES, SEX CRIMES. If you are applying for a management/higher security position Your background check will then be forwarded to a third party company who will run a deeper check with another software. If you are applying for a government/fed job like...the CIA, FBI, police force then yes you must disclose all. Retail, food, entertainment...not necessarily and I think that doing so can be more drama than good.
It’s not that anyone should be ashamed of adult work, but in the hands of general managers, shift leads, and many hands that will touch your resume...they are not necessarily mature enough to handle the adult work dynamic. And for your sanity and safety I would do other things to your resume to protect yourself. By all means, protect yourself.
Do you have a two year work gap? No problem, extend the dates of all the jobs you’ve had by 6 months to a year. Close the gap up. List the supervisors you work for - even better if they no longer work for that location or company. This is common in the retail/restaurant industry and doesn’t get frowned upon.
You can use friends and family members with different last names as references.

If it's any peace of mind for you, I have multiple entertainer licenses and also have had extensive background checks ( working on military bases ect. )
I have never had an issue because these background checks are looking for criminal activity . Adult work doesn't create a flag ( at least for mine ).
My resume only has vanilla work on it. If anyone asks about any adult work , I would be honest about it but no one ever has.

I had a federal background check done, about 5 years ago. I'd cammed and worked as a stripper (no license required in my area). No problems whatsoever. I passed a federal background check, got a fingerprint clearance card, and worked in a pretty conservative vanilla field since then.

Now I don't remember what I had on my resume to work for an internet company called Tucows,
but some cam sites and adult sites list Careers and Jobs. you can check out what they are looking for in their job description and use that for your resume.
Getting that interview back then was huge for me because I was camming full time for 4 years and I got up to the second interview with them . the second round of interviews got harder and then it came out I did webcamming and then I found out they didn't care and I left that interview feeling like an idiot.
These sits have employees in their offices and if you look around on the sites you can tell what they are looking for. Even other major affiliate company networks list their job descriptions.
All of these sites have a corporate job site looking for employees. get creative and get ideas how to make your resume from there.

2 month update
Due the position receiving many applications during the job fair end of last year, the positions were alrighty filled therefore I was not hired.
I went to another fair on Friday and the same thing as last time occurred, the position I was looking for was gone again.
In the airport, I randomly walk to a restaurant and asked if they were hiring. I spoke to a manager, he told me to come back in a few days.
I went back today and I was hired after briefly talking. The manager who hired me did not asked for references or my previous supervisors phone number. After getting hired, I went to another office to get fingerprinted/background check. When filling out the forms for the background check, they did not asked for my previous employers or references.
The place I will work for is constantly busy and gratuity is automatically added which I why I went through hassle of getting employed at a resturant in an airport oppose to a regular restaurant.
I do not have a criminal record so I just have to wait 7-14 days for my fingerprints to clear.

Hi everyone!:) Thanks ahead of time for your advice. So about two years ago i received my bachelors in business. I got a office job doing accounts payable. I absolutely hated it,low pay, boring, if asked question it was like i was bothering the person that was training me. So this time last year i quit and went back to camming full-time. Im thinking about a couple other careers and camming for a day or two a week. What can i put on my resume? My friend recommended i should put that i was a Nannie and she would confirm that i was a nannie for her if they called. I'm not sure if its the best option or believable . Any other ideas?

OMG. I just called my professional resume guy and i told him my situation. He did not judge me and he's willing to fudge on my resume. He said he came across this situation a couple of times with people working in the adult industry.

Here are some really good threads that touch on the same thing. There were some really good ideas, I plan to use some of the suggestions when I write my resume.

e-com sales agent is what i use to put all the time, but i wasn't going for jobs that really need to dig around much in my background.
Now it's full-time make money online and business opportunities.
