My dog died and I got depressed and haven't worked out for like a month. Ugh. My energy is so low and I'm not sleeping well at all.
Something about working out at the gym around strangers when I'm depressed and anxious is just so unappealing. I've never been a runner but I ordered some running shoes in hopes that will help me get back in the saddle.
Try some FitnessBlender workouts https://www.fitnessblender.com/ (youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/FitnessBlender) I love them, for working out at home... they have like 500 free workouts of all lenghs and intensities. I am sorry for your loss, only those who had a dog, know the pain. But you need to shake it off and move on, ok? I wish you good luck and send you big hugs!

I'm so sorry to hear about your doggie. :'( I hope you can find some peace and strength. <3
Take your time getting back in shape and don't beat yourself up darling.

I'm in pain today, but it's such a beautiful perfect day with clear skies. I want to go jogging. I think I'm going to take some ibuprofen and some herbal medicine and maybe I'll be able to get an hour in.
Been eating raw salads at work lately. Sounds boring but they're not bad. I put sriracha sauce on my salads instead of salad dressing and it's so much better.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your pup. When I lost my Rudy, it was absolutely horrible. I also completely understand the feeling of not wanting to work out because of depression. I get like that way too often. But, if you can push past the wall you're facing, working out will cause your body to release chemicals that will make you feel better both physically and emotionally. Even if you have to go at odd hours to avoid the crowds, it really will help.
You don't have to go full throttle on day one. Just get your blood flowing and your body moving, mind focused on something else. Do that one day, then another, and another, and before you know it, you'll be back on track and in a healthy mindset.

Wow you guys are all so sweet and kind! You warmed my heart <3 I ran three miles today! It did not feel awesome but I feel better just to have gotten the ball rolling. I also got my period so hope that means my mood will get a little better soon.

Been drinking red wine lately, and it makes me bloated. Damn! Red wine is the only alcohol I want to drink now, but I feel like I shouldn't even drink that anymore. I feel fat today. Going to jog and do some squats and eat a very lite dinner.
Am I the only one who has tons of energy right around bed time but can’t seem to bring myself to the gym in the morning? I know if I can just get to the gym it’s smooth sailing from there but it never happens. I’m trying to find a gym partner but no bites yet.

I think everyone generally has a time of day that feels best for them to train, similar to naturally being either a 'day' or 'night' person. I prefer training first thing as I feel energised and set for the day; I also hate the thought of having my session looming later in the day - I like to get it over with early on. Sometimes if schedule is irregular though any time is better than not at all...I really had to force myself to hot yoga last night when I just felt ready for stuffing my face on the sofa.

Oh I could never workout in the morning..I go at around 6 or 7 pm after a strong cup of coffee (and before dinner) find your time that it's easiest to get in the groove and try and schedule it in at the gym
Although sometimes you just gotta force yourself, don't think about how much you hate it, just blankmyiur mind.,jump in the car, and go. I always tell myself "you're not gonna regret that 20 min workout, but you will regret not going"

For me it's not so much related to the time of day as much as it is the rotation of the Earth. Here in Kansas, 7:30-8:30AM works perfectly. When I was in Iraq, about 8 hours ahead, between 3:30-4:30PM was perfect. It's really the same time for my body, even though it's a different actual time. I tried the morning over there and it just didn't work. But late afternoon? I was motivated, excited, and just plain felt good.
I'm assuming if I went to Australia, the middle of the night would be perfect!
I’m getting ready to get in some yoga but my doctor told me that working out late in the evening is part of what’s keeping me up at night. I’m just a night owl I guess. I need to trick myself in to getting out the house in the morning.

Does anyone have any tips to reduce arm flab and lower back fat?
This will sound super cliché, but calories in vs calories out will take care of both. Those two areas are notoriously difficult for women to lose the last pounds from, but if you stick with a proper diet, and exercise regularly, it will eventually go away. You can do exercises that build muscle in those areas (tricep pushdowns/curls for arms, and deadlifts for lower back). Building muscle not only increases caloric output, but tones things up, which is always good.
Now, one exercise that will blast fat, build arms, and strengthen your back all in one? The kettlebell swing (no higher than chest level or you risk damaging your shoulders). I don't know your level of fitness, but the crossfit standard for women is the 16kg (35lb) bell. Obviously, scale it to whatever you need to (or go heavier if you want). Kettlebell swings are great because they burn 1 calorie per swing during the actual exercise, and then another 2 calories recovering. So, do 20 swings and burn 60 calories. If you've never done one before, start light and focus on form. It's all about the hip hinge, not a squat. The hinge is what targets your lower back (and also attacks your glutes for a hell of a butt workout too). The pendulum motion of the bell puts a strain on your entire arm as you have to control it throughout the motion. Lastly, the constantly shifting center of gravity is a hell of an ab workout as well. The swing really is a full body workout. If you want to know more about the swing, google has some good stuff, or you can send me a message and I'll point you to some good resources. I love them. When I was deployed, we did the 10000 KB swing challenge. 500 KB swings a day for 20 days. Oww.

Restarting new diet and workout plan today for a 12-week plan over the summer. Already had the groceries delivered, and even went back to splurging on La Croix. I've been telling myself the last few months that I shouldn't "waste" the money on it, but it really keeps me from drinking soda, alcohol, energy drinks, and other crap that I don't need.
I'll be taking the physical ability test for a fire department in August, so now I have a real, measurable end goal to get me on track, so I think I'll actually be able to be serious about it. I'm excited!
Today's menu is yogurt with fruit, almond butter, and chia seeds for breakfast; a roasted veggie, tempeh, beans, rice, and hummus bowl for lunch; and sweet potato tacos for dinner. Might also make some protein power balls (oatmeal, peanut butter, honey, flax, and protein powder) to snack on!
I brought some RXbars. They all taste the same to me but they’re all natural ingredients. Some what pricey tho.

I have to stick to my macros and workout plan. I’m also going back to my old trainer as soon as I’m done using my sessions. The one I have now is laissez-faire about working out and eating. She’s not bad, but I need someone whose in it to win it! I just need to finish my personal training course, but even then having a coach is nice at least for one more year. I really want my pro card!

Yes, I love intermittent fasting! For me, it's the most efficient way to lose weight or keep the pounds off. I used to track calories, but that shit got tedious QUICK. And when I counted calories, I could never actually enjoy eating. It was such a chore. All I could think about was how many calories I was consuming, not even enjoying the taste of the food. Eating just became all math and numbers. Screw that nonsense! But with intermittent fasting, I would only eat during the day (before 5pm) and then not eat the rest of the day and just drink water or herbal tea at night. Worked like a charm. No more calorie counting!

I was wondering what I'd do today since I didn't want to trek to the gym before work and burned myself out on all my Jillian Michaels DVDs the last few days. Thanks for posting! It's been awhile since I did anything dance-y.

For real! Studies show it helps with aging. My diet doctor doesn’t recommend it, but I think it’s really help me from over eating.

Just had my microblading touch up so, for 2 weeks, no sweating allowed here.
I will upgrade my fitbit daily steps to 12.000 (now it's 10.000), because I plan to take really long walks, so I can keep myself fit for the next 2 weeks.
I took a long walk, in 1 hour and 30 minutes I burned 350 calories and I took about 8-9000 steps. That's equivalent with 30 minutes of cardio or jogging (based on my past experience).
Also, I need to be careful on what I am eating, of course.

I'm going through a tumultuous break up, and I am feeling hurt/depressed. That usually leads me to hide from the world in bed, but I've been trying to hit the gym at least once a day. I actually made it in twice one day last week. I don't do anything extreme, 30 min of cardio and light weights, but it is helping to beat off the negative mood I feel trying to creep in. I'm hanging out here for some like minded folks <3

I'm in a similar situation as you, not a break-up, but my regular job is SUPER crazy and hectic, and I'm constantly in no-win catch-22 situations at work. It's making me have a headache and not sleep well, which makes me depressed, which gives me less energy, and as a double whammy when depressed I crave junk food and crap that I normally don't ever crave or eat. So one week I am on fire, eating perfectly and exercising 1-2 hours a day, then the next week it's back to sitting the couch eating junk. Then I feel bad about myself, ugh.
I'm trying to get back into the strip club again, and I am soooo close, as in 10 pounds close, of being comfortable dancing. I just can't quite get there with all this back and forth, so I feel you.
It's really frustrating because compared to most people, I actually LOVE to workout and I normally have strong willpower with food.
It's good you are working out though, keep it up it helps with the moods! I am making myself go too, even if it's not that much. I always feel better after I go.

I don't jog for an hour straight. lol. That shit would kill me too. I do interval jogging while listening to music. I will usually jog for 1-2 songs, then slow down and walk for another 2-3 songs, then jog again 1-2 songs, and so forth. I pace myself that way and get a good workout. :)
Slow down at intervals and puke in the grass if you have to
I would not recommend jogging until you puke. That is a little too extreme and not necessary, in my humble opinion.

Dude I just found out I'm pregnant and my super hot body is going to be wrecked soon 😭 29, first kid. My tits are enormous and I've gained a couple pounds in my gut. I want to go run it off but even getting to the treadmill is like a chore!
I hope everything works out for You! I know how hard it is to keep that hot body! I usually try to just do cardio. I used to run 6 miles a day, and at that rate you can literally eat ANYTHING you want XD
But even at my best, I was always really hard on myself. Us girls strive for perfection sometimes and the one who ends up suffering is ourselves. Just stay positive about your body and remember, even though you could look better, be grateful you don't look worse! Because there's girls out there who look far worse than I do, and I have to be grateful for at least the beauty that I do have.
Hope this was helpful 😘

I've really fallen off the wagon the last few months. I gained almost 15lbs in 4 months... I'm the heaviest I've ever been. Hate every picture of myself. Barely feel like I fit into my clothes. Most days I come home and start crying, because every moment of the day I was in pain from feeling how my pants don't fit right. I feel like such a cliche after turning 30 this month, that I just ballooned and got fat after my 20s...
I start a BeachBody plan on Monday with bf and my cousin. I'm determined to make this work, because I'm at the point where I cannot deal with getting any bigger or even staying the size I am. She's a BeachBody coach and posted something the other day, and asked if I wanted to do it with her to stay accountable. This gives me another person who isn't going to let me complain and sit on the couch if I don't feel up to it (like my bf would). I know a lot of it will suck, but I'm also excited, because I really think it will help. My cousin is only a year younger than me and is in amazing shape from doing these. I'm going to follow the vegan eating plan they have as well.
I'm doing a cleanse right now. I gained 10 lbs in the past 3 months due to stress and overeating and on this cleanse I feel AMAZING. Like a brand new person. I haven't worked out in about 2 years, and I just got a gym membership. I'm so exited. I love my body, and I'm about to love it even more.

I will be exercising again now, I had to stop be because of getting sick. I want to cleanse too my stomach is horrible.
I did the Wild Rose Detox. I'm already vegan, so it was no sugar/ gluten for 12 days, very strict and limited diet of mostly veggies. But I felt amazing, and my skin is clearer than it has ever been in my life right now.

I lost 4.2lbs and 2 inches off my waist in the last 3 weeks! I know I would have lost more but my diet took a nosedive in week 2 due to travel and visiting friends and family. But I still made a lot of progress! I feel so much better already. Started Round 2 of the program today for the next 21 days.
I love that my bf was supportive enough to get up and do the workouts with me in the morning, but part of me wishes he didn't do the program alongside me because of how much progress he made. I lost 2 inches off my waist, but gained in other areas (probably muscle, I know), but my overall inches remained completely the same. He lost 5 1/2 inches overall. I lost 4.2 lbs keeping my calories under 1200/day for the first and last week. He cheated SO MUCH on the diet I put us on, and STILL lost 11 lbs. I kinda hated him when we went to compare how we did this morning. I know I shouldn't because he's a big dude and I'm a small girl and that's just how it goes, but it kinda killed my thunder lol I know I should still be happy. I made a lot of progress and I would be overjoyed if I wasn't comparing to anyone else.

YES! The reason my total inches over my body stayed the same despite losing off my waist is because I gained an inch in my hips and my thighs. I know it’s because I gained muscle, tone, and bootylicious-ness but it still LOOKS discouraging in the numbers.

The holidays totally ruined my diet-not a bad thing I needed a break. My goal is to log my calories everyday.
The weekends are my yoga days. Monday-Friday I’ll alternate my strength days with aerobic training (20 minutes of HITT) for now.

I lost 8lbs so far! I joined a challenge on the DietBet app, so if I want to win I have to lose another 6 by the end of the month. I think I will be able to accomplish that just fine with my new diet and workout plan, starting Monday. By then, I'll be down 13lbs since starting! I feel so much better already with my pants and belt fitting better!

Man...i need to get my act together. I keep cycling on and off with healthy eating and exercise. Like, i kill it for a week, then i start thinking, hey, i look and feel great, i probably don't even need to do all of this. And so i slack off, which just makes it even more difficult to commit to it again...
I should just stick to a consistent routine.

I've got motivation for everyone to do 50 jumping jacks a day. As it turns out it strengthens your bones, reducing your risk of osteoporosis! By the way bone strength isn't the same as bone density. Think about how tempered glass can take a harder impact, but shadders when it breaks. Increasing bone density does that to your bones. Increasing the strength decreases your chance of breaking because your bones are strong, but have a little give. Also if they do break it should break cleanly and therefore heal better.

Elektra Luxx

Does anyone have a Peloton, is it worth it? You have a $2,000 initial investment for the equipment then $39 a month for the subscription. My diet has been slipping for months, but I've been exercising regularly, but not near as hard as I was and I've been slowly gaining weight. I've mostly been walking and running and doing loosely structured calisthenics.
If someone has a good home exercise program they're using please consider sharing.
