Any one use the iPhone 12 pro for their videos?

I have in the past used it! Prefer my Brio, but it certainly gets the job done.

I’m on the lookout for a new laptop. I’ve got my eye on a 3k Alienware one but Fuckkkkk it’s expensive. Do you think it’s worth it?

Absolutely not. Alienware is owned by Dell... and every Dell laptop I’ve owned has shit out on me within 2 years. Asus makes far superior laptops for the same price imo.

I second Caramelcraze! Asus has never done me wrong.

That said, I'm thinking of getting a used Macbook pro eventually for a second computer when I can afford it. Does anybody use one for camming?

I want to build a computer but feel so lost...

I've just built a new beast and since processing was my priority I focussed on that first of all (Ryzen 9 3950) with associated mobo & got the ram & in this case the cooling, to match.

I use a Macbook pro, and it works really well for camming. Only thing is it doesn't have many USB ports and also I haven't tried split camming yet...

I am also jumping on the ASUS bandwagon, after 10 years at this, ASUS has been the most reliable and longest lasting

I want to build a computer but feel so lost...

Did you do it? It does save $ usually but I don't do it if I don't have 1 of my friends to put it together & tell me what goes with what or I'd be screwed. LOL I have no interest whatsoever in learning that

I need to upgrade ALL my dang shit except ethernet cables, and my monitors, those will be good for a little while. Literally need everything else new even a stupid cocksucking tripod

I am moving to a new home and I am a little bit nervous about the internet connection. I have 100/100 now, but in my new house I have the option of 250 down and 25 Mbit/s up, or 500 down and 40 Mbit/s up. are these speeds enough for streaming on the SMConnect encoder?

Those are fine for SMconnect streaming only. Should be pretty fast uploading as well. If you want to stream or upload 4k video or multiple sites splitcamming you'll want the 40mbps up for sure. Also if you stream music or videos at the same time as you work you will want the 40mbps, especiallyif you live with anyone else who might be using the internet at the same time in your house

Hi girls, I’m mostly just lurking here and I’ve been doing my research on what computer would be the best to upgrade to. I’m currently camming from an ipad but obviously it’s not ideal. Someone here mentioned pcspecialists to build computers and this is what I put together there (I’m on a budget, so not able to get the best of the best right now, also I’m not very tech savvy). Would any of you be able to take a look at these specs and tell me if it’s gonna be strong enough? I’d do SM and possibly another site with free chat, and Skype. Internet connection is strong, it’s just the computer I’m not so sure about. Thanks a lot!

I'm not an expert but it was me who mentioned pc specialist. They are really good (and non judgemental), you can direct message them with what you're wanting to do and ask for their recommendations if you want, they're super helpful

Has anyone here cammed with the new Mac Mini with the M1 Chip/ any of the new Macbooks or iMacs with the M1 chip? They came out late fall 2020.

I'd like to purchase it, the reviews on Youtube are great, but none of those ppl are camming or running a live stream.

I love the Brio, but it's a pain in the ass that I have to keep going into the Logi Capture software to fuck around with my auto white balance settings EVERY TIME I'm about to broadcast. Never had to do that constantly with the C920.

Razer just brought out the 'pro' version of the Kiyo and it looks amazing! I had returned my kiyo as I really didn't need the ring light (got the Logitech brio instead which was infinitely superior), but with this new one Razer has caught up with the brio! The only thing it lacks is 4k.

I think it's a computer software thing... my last laptop I never had to mess with it but my newer one I have the same issue as you do with it.

So is it better than C920 (for streaming)? I use C920 now, and thought about getting Brio, too. Always feeling like I could improve my vid quality...

Actually, you just have to download the Logitech Camera Settings and use that one. No need to go to Logi Capture all the time anymore. That's what I use and it keeps my settings saved.

I use two laptops, and it happens on both every single time I'm getting on cam. I'll be running late for cam, and then having to fool with this on both computers makes me even more late. Lol. On Sunday I'm gonna try what Cutie101 suggested in the above post, and see if that helps...so I don't have to go through this every single time I plug in my webcams.

Yes, it's a HUGE difference in quality! Looks fantastic...nice and sharp. I did just get a softbox light too, so I'm sure that factors into how much better I look on cam (I was using a five-bulb floor lamp from Target before).

Same! It never saves my settings, and also I have to uninstall it (logitech software) and then install again, every damn time, just so I can see all these controllers.:( Because if I don't do it, and just plug the camera in, 'control' button doesn't work.

Damn! Yeah, that's too much shit to have to do. If this Logitech Camera Settings thing does that to me, then that's worse than what I complained about before with Logi Capture...and I'll just end up sticking with Logi Capture at that rate. I do remember someone else on this forum venting about this very thing (when she got her Brio) some time ago too.

Interesting how this wasn't an issue for me when I had the cheaper Logitech webcams...only when I buy two of these expensive-ass webcams. Lol.

One of the ways we are recently using to try to get to settings that are no longer available in Logitech Camera Settings is to open OBS, edit camera settings there (we can adjust "gain" and "exposure" and turn off automatic light changes ONLY THERE), close it and open SM connect. We are on Windows 8.1, using Chrome to stream.

We tried using OBS as a splitter (there is a virtual cam plugin) but it desycronizes the audio and puts a huge strain on our i7.

In need of a new editing software that's FREE and has hundreds of amazing tutorials on youtube?

Two of my twitch streamer turned youtuber friends recommended this software to me. The free version is perfectly adequate unless you plan on doing 3D modeling stuff.

Okay I have a question. I have learned from watching this thread that I need to check to see if my firmware needs to be updated, and update it regularly. Problem is, is that when I downloaded Logitech's Firmware Update tool, it's not recognizing my camera. I went in manually and updated the driver, and all of my permissions are allowed on my camera. I'm really super new to all of this stuff. Can anyone clarify what's going on? Thanks!

I think elgato is about to release a new webcam in two days? There's all this suspense surrounding the big reveal on the 15th. From the looks of the box it appears to be a camera.

Elgato just released a new webcam called Facecam. It's 1080p 60 fps. Has a 24 mm lens and a 2.4 aperture. And you can change the iso setting for the cam. No other webcam does that. It's going for $200.

FUCK I WANT THAT WEBCAM....even though i have just bought the streamcam last year..... i'm trying to justify the 200$ price tag even though i dont need it. i bought the streamcam for 140 and then found amazon reduced it to 100 a few months later so i was pissed.

do you think in a few months they'll be a discount or does that never happen with elgato products?

Elgato will rarely discount their products. Usually you'll see a price drop when they create a new version of an item. But if you wait until they add products to Amazon you might be able to get it at a lower price.

I think this webcam may be a game changer because you have a greater ability to modify the settings. Also the sensor is larger than most webcams which means sharper images in low light settings. No it's not 4k, but that really doesn't matter because most of your viewers won't be able to appreciate that.

Personally if I weren't already using a DSLR, this is the cam I would go for. I'm going to keep my eyes open to see how it works after more people have it. As more reviews come out we'll be able to see what sort of compatibility issues it may have.

I want it. The iso function in what I need in my life. I just rarely ever get the first of anything tech, always been that way. I don’t even hate my Brio, but my backup at the moment is an ok one I had to get at pandemic height.
