I just realized there is no auto focus on this cam. That makes me wonder how it's going to look in shots further away. I'm still going to give it a try since it's already ordered. It can always be returned.
the focusing system they are using claims up to 4ft focused.

I didn't watch the video to the end earlier. I just watched a Youtube video from Elgato and there is no microphone. I do have a Yeti but I don't have it set up for streaming- just use it for customs. So I have a project for this weekend.
From what I saw on the videos I watched on Youtube- standing back from a distance might not be the greatest.

I just watched a comparison video of the C920 and Elgato. The Elgato background looked much more clear and it's a wider angle. I think it's still worth a try.

Elgato just released a new webcam called Facecam. It's 1080p 60 fps. Has a 24 mm lens and a 2.4 aperture. And you can change the iso setting for the cam. No other webcam does that. It's going for $200.
https://youtu.be/sy7XWagX9Hg
Great review. My only hesitation is the lack of auto-focus. I cam in a big bedroom and use the whole room, walking around, posing, modeling clothes for private shows. But, it sounds like a great web cam if you're in a smaller setting

Does anyone have any recommendations for a mic stand for the Yeti?
I use the Impact 3 section articulated arm for both my microphone and camera. The setup has two additional pieces to put it all together. It cost me around $100 and it was a little complicated.
https://boleynmodels.com/blog/create-a-camroom-that-you-can-fall-in-love-with/
But now elgato also released new mic stands. The boom arm goes for $99 and it's all one piece. To me it looks sturdy and strong enough to hold something as heavy as a yeti. Check yt to see if anyone has tested it out yet.
https://www.elgato.com/en/wave-mic-arm
Of course there are the cheaper articulated arms but many of them are too lite weight to hold that up.

Here's another boom arm that looks sturdy but will it extend as far as you may like? It's also one hundred bucks.

Thank you! I watched the video this weekend to get ideas how to set things up (I have put this off for too long lol)
When you redid your cam space this time did you plan it out or did you do piece by piece?
I am getting slightly overwhelmed lol.

I planned it out in my head for the longest. I also got overwhelmed at first. I first started by looking at my space and what it would allow. Then I decided on a L shaped desk that would give me enough floor space between the bed. After that it started to come together.

It looks like the Elgato Mic Arm can hold the Blue Yeti according to this YT video.

Does anyone else have problems with updates to W10 I run the updates overnight if I know there's one, there's been several every week for last 3 weeks also ran disc defrag then made the poor decision to empty recycle bin just as I logged on the cam. Really affected my stream, laptop started hanging, had to shut down, restart taking an hour in total.
Really fed up of this, any suggestions? I'm using W10 will be buying a faster laptop in the next 12 months but current one gives really good stream, surprisingly so for it's processor, I'm really impressed but just need to manage the updates better.

I have a gaming laptop which was over $2500, super powerful and I still get the constant windows 10 updates. It’s every other day it’s ridiculous. I don’t think it’s a laptop issue I think it will happen with whatever laptop you get that is windows. It’s soo annoying. All my webcam settings reset everytime I restart so I have to mess around with that everytime aswell. I hate windows!

I'm sticking with my C922.

This. I'm noticing that the Windows updates actually seem to be happening even more often now than before, and it's annoying. I'll be on cam, and I'll get that notification and I'm like "Wtf...again?!" So then I have to click the button to schedule it to take place later at the time I'm off cam. Smh.

I'm probably gonna end up selling my second laptop and second Logitech Brio, because I really don't need them. I could totally see these cheapasses on Facebook Marketplace trying to give me only $20 for my Brio (Nope, that's a freakin' $200 webcam). LOL. So I'll probably list them on eBay using the Buy It Now/Best Offer feature.

The quality is not too bad up close if you tweak the settings but I think the C922 looks better. The Facecam went blurry and dark when I moved back. That's probably because of the fixed focus lens.
They say you can return it online by clicking a link through your order email but it didn't work. I called them and they transferred me to tech support so I had to call another number, which was the first number I had dialed. The guy kept me on hold for a long time. I don't know what he was doing but I never got the email he said he sent.
He told me I should get an email from his higher-ups within a couple of days. If not, I'm going to call and bitch.
Update: I just got the email with the return label.

I ordered the Facecam last night because I want to be able to test it out for myself. Ya know, put it through the Cammodel test because all the other reviews are all the same. I want to test different lighting and work with the software etc. If it pans out I'll gift it to my niece for her yt videos. If not back to elgato it goes. That's really concerning that you had to place a phone call to find out how to return it.

I hope it works out for you. Lighting is hard for me because I don't have overhead lighting. If it doesn't work for you, I'm sure your niece will enjoy it.
Yes, I really got the run around. You also have to pay for return shipping.

I got the shipment notification today- mine is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I usually take Friday's off for errands and what not , but I am going to hop on to give it a stream test.
I want to see the software in action. Most of the reviews seemed to be positive that I have seen on Youtube. This one was overall positive, but he did mention that he had issues with flickering and was having trouble resolving. He also mentions that he reached out to support to see if there was a fix and it was no bueno.

I just ordered a new C922. My cord is getting crimped from moving it around so much.
I was also wondering if I damaged it with the lens cleaner I was using. My picture looks a little fuzzy lately. What do you ladies use to clean your camera lens?

Got the Face cam in today. Testing it out SM right now.
Pros: Delivers a fantastic sharp image.
Wide Angle.
Noise reduction is nice.
Cons: Has to be plugged directly into the computer (I tried using a USB extension cable I couldn't get it to recognize the camera.)
Things that I noticed when moving the camera closer to me it took a little bit 20-30 secs for the camera to focus clearly.
It's going to be a bit of a learning curve to work with the software.
I'm keeping it and I will use the c922 as a back up as it's overall stability is good.

I use the same thing I use for my eyeglasses, these little microfiber cloths.

Carmen and I both have. If you go back in this thread you can see what was posted.
I tested it out Friday- I like it- just a bit of a learning curve with the software.
I am waiting it out before I use it regularly- going to break down my lighting and move things around to get a better lighting setup.

Can someone enlighten me about graphics cards?
I have to build a new PC, I pretty much narrowed down everything (I will go AMD this time) apart from the GPU... Since being a mum I don't have time for gaming, I need the PC for camming and I have no idea how far should I go when it comes to GPU apart from having something dedicated... I'm buying Ryzen 9 5900x, I kind of feel like it shouldn't be lonley but I'd have no idea how much GPU power does camming need at all and I don't want to end up wasting money for something which is overkill. :/

AMD also makes gpu's. Look at their most recent gpu and see if it fits your budget. Then do your research. AMD should be able to show you the compatibility on their website.

Thanks! I looked into them, my problem is not the compatibility, I simply wasn't sure if the high end ones would be overkill for "just" camming or not. Back when I put camming on hold I was perfectly fine with the integrated GPU of my CPU for quite a while when I was waiting for a certain graphics card to come out. I will dig up the web once more about this.

hi! im looking to upgrade my webcam (ordered the elgato facecam but hated it)... i am debating the brio, but i kinda want a remote for the ease of close ups... does anyone still use the BCC950? i know thats *super* old school but, i remember that being the 'high end' option that mainstream cam sites recommended. and i always remember the quality being excellent back then but there are very few reviews of it on youtube these days...
anyone still recommend that webcam orrr should i sack the remote off and go brio? #decisions... xxxx
