So logitech isnt updating the capture software anymore? How do we record videos with the webcam now? I literally have to download a manual and watch 200 youtube videos to find out how to do this? LOL
I think you can record with OBS? It's been a while since I have used it.
Wondershare Filmora will allow you to record from your webcam. And I think you can record using the Camera feature on Windows 10.
Logi Capture software started being a PITA for me a couple of months ago- it kept giving me a message that my CPU usage was high. I stopped using it

Logicapture works for me but my video is lagging lately. I had to stop using it. I hope they fix it with their next update.
I tested OBS recording last night and it did feel weird. lol

I'm going to be upgrading my laptop in the next 8 weeks, does anyone have any recommendations for specifications please?
Just for info I am in the UK.
I know I will need an i7 processor.
Anything else?
I have 2 x Logitech cams, tempted to buy some Brios is that a good idea or should I get the laptop use with current cams then change the cams later?

Yes, you can record with OBS while you're streaming. The 'Start Recording' button is on the bottom right. I always do that, and then later on I take a look at it to see if I can make any clips out of it to list for sale.

How many sites do you cam on at once and do you stream in 4k or 1080p?

It depends if you want something just to get you by or you want to invest for the future. I would seriously consider a desktop instead if it is possible for you
For an example these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/HP-15-en1007na-pixels-GeForce-Windows/dp/B08W9GRCFC/ref=sr_1_13?qid=1642781194&refinements=p_n_feature_twenty-two_browse-bin%3A27387843031%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A21740491031%7C21740494031&rnid=182781031&s=computers&sr=1-13&th=1
https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-FA506IC-7-4800H-GeForce-Keyboard/dp/B09GRZ24D1/ref=sr_1_9?qid=1642781194&refinements=p_n_feature_twenty-two_browse-bin%3A27387843031%2Cp_n_feature_browse-bin%3A21740491031%7C21740494031&rnid=182781031&s=computers&sr=1-9&th=1
Will get you by temporarily, but not streaming more than 2 sites in 4k. You definitely want at least 16GB DDR4 RAM
I would look for at least i7 or Ryzen 7 and above
But if you want to add more sites in in the future, or record at the same time, and edit videos those aren't going to last you
This

is a great website to copy paste the specs of whatever you are looking at in your budget it will tell you the performance

Thank you much appreciated, a desktop isn't possible at the moment I need to be able to transport it - has to be portable. However I do have a PC to use for video editing etc, the laptop is only for actual camming.
sorry just a question! just wondering if for example we are able to work with a vpn if you are in a country with restriction like dubai? sorry i admit to be ignorant but i was thinking if possible! :) it is the external web on the setting related to it! :P streamate!!!

I wouldn't reccomend risking that. They really don't play with this shit, they don't care about western world rules and there is a thread here on forum, about a MFC top model who got arrested for camming in an asian country that has restrictions like that. Once you step on their territory, you respect their rules. You seriously risk being arrested and again, no one will save your ass if that happens.

What list? That's how you connect to sm, scanning the QR and that's how it shows in your Lovense connect app when you connected your toy to SM, liveclientperformer. You don't need the extension or the adapter to connect to SM, just the phone app. For MFC, I don't know, try Lovense browser maybe it's in the list there.

I don't work MFC but i see it in lovense browser camsite list. So if you don't find a simpler way, just test with their browser, was simple to connect it to CB so I assume it's the same for MFC x

You want step 2 or 3. For me it is most easy with streaming on chrome and add the lovesense extension to chrome, open MFC broadcast page then click the extension, login to connect

Hi ladies, I'm currently reading all this thread so I apologise it this has been answered! I just got myself a Blue Yeti mic and am wondering what to set the gain at. I've googled it and can't really understand what it means or where best to set it, I have seen lots of Youtubers say totally different settings.
I use a C920 so used the LogiCapture to record a few clips to test the mic. I have the Cardioid setting with the gain at the lowest setting and it's on the desk with a small towel under to muffle the desk sounds. The sound was lovely in the clip and the key tapping fairly unobtrusive which I would expect as the laptop is behind the mic. When I turned the gain up a bit my voice got louder and so did the tapping, kind of like turning up the volume but I understand that gain is different although I don't really get why!
Could anyone explain what it is in VERY simple words and where I would be best setting the gain to please? I kind of get the other features but that one eludes me! TIA!

I have a Yeti Nano, so I don't have a gain button, but I adjusted the volume in the most simple manner ever: Recorded myself at different sound levels and different distances, till I found the perfect setting for me. Still not perfect, but I will get a mount arm, so I can bring the mic closer or futher from my face and also to get rid of desk sounds. I hope this helps a little haha!

Thank you! I did a few clips again to test and have turned the gain up halfway now. I think I'll need a desk arm though because I have the same issue as with the webcam mic of sound being nice and loud when I'm close to it then quieter and a little muffled when I turn and bend over!

Ok I've read all the thread and OMG I feel such an amateur, you ladies know so much about tech! I really want to upgrade my stuff, currently I run 2 x i5 laptops, one with Adultwork and one with SM. I plan to continue that but would like capability of adding more sites in the future. I also want to change to one shit-hot desktop instead of 2 laptops and would like something FAR better than I have now that will be a much improved setup, but don't want to go crazy.
My budget is around £2,000 and have been looking at this for £1600, the rest can go on a decent monitor etc.
https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/gaming/pc-gaming/gaming-pcs/asus-rog-strix-g15dk-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-rtx-3070-2-tb-hdd-256-gb-ssd-10226084-pdt.html
Any immediate thoughts as to if this is a good brand or a worthwhile buy? It seems to me to be way more than I have now and kind of what I think I need. It will be used for streaming and possibly clip editing. Not gaming, but I think if it can handle what it says it can then my needs should be met, and then some!
And opinions gratefully received, especially if this is a bad choice!

The specs are looking good, it's a fast computer, you got a decent graphics card, real good shit there :)). Nowadays a graphics card is important, for both streaming in high res, also for editing high res clips. I am not a fan of pre built computers because they are overpriced (thanks to the brand) and usually have shitty components (bad quality processor). But since it's AMD Ryzen 7, this one is a fast processor, so go for it! It's an amazing machine! And the price is surprisingly fair for what it offers!
What I would extra buy, would be 16 more GB of RAM. It only has 16 GB and it could become a lil slow if you plan doing too much. But buy it first, use it and then see if it needs extra GB of RAM. Maybe you don't, 16GB is still ok.
Usually, the ones that cheat the price are those with Intel processors. For example, I took a look at one with same price with what you shown me and maaan, it does give Intel® Core™ i7-11700F Processor. At SAME price with the Ryzen machine you shown me and it's not as fast. That's why I hate this, they trick customers, they see "Intel core I7 11th gen" and they think it's a good machine. Indeed, it is, but if you build it yourself, with SAME money, you can easily get a Intel® Core™ i9-12900K Alder Lake which is twice faster and expensive than that, but you end up spending the same. Anyway, I drifted towards irrelevant stuff.
Overall, as I am an intel fan (altough I could try switching to AMD for my next station), I gotta give high five to AMD for making 1 good, cheap and powerful processor, instead of more variations of it, that it's easy to trick the customers into thinking they buy a beast at a good price.

Wow thank you Cutie so much! I know very little about these things but have gleaned the Ryzen could be better value than Intel but I had no idea about graphics cards or anything so you have really helped! I want a machine that basically laughs in my face because it can do SO much more than I'll ever use it for, that way I don't ever need to worry it will be good enough!
I have seen you ladies talk about building one, I would have no idea where to go or how to go about doing that? From a price perspective I am all about the value but don't want to run before I can walk. Perhaps I get this one then think about that next time round.
Thank you again! ;D

I don't really assembly my own pc either, I just pick the parts that I think it fits best and the electronics store I usually buy from, has a PC assembly and windows installation service. But I buy everything, including the case. I am not really good at wiring and cables in general, so the guy in there is choosing what's best, when assembly my pc.
But honestly, you shouldn't worry with all of that, the pc you have chosen is pretty dope. And for next time, you can prepare in advance, maybe learn a bit more about computer components, etc. You will know better what you want and what you exactly need it for. This one will show you what you can and can't do with it, according to YOUR needs. In any case, it's not worse than your current laptops, it's pretty powerful, so don't worry much! It handles without a sweat 3-4 sites in 720p or 1080p streaming (maybe just 2-3 sites at 1080p res, but you test and see) and also clips editing (not in the same time, of course, but it won't sweat when rendering the clips at all!).

How basic can I go equipment wise with Skype cam sessions? I'm going to lend my laptop to my daughter for her try out some WFH jobs. She has a Chromebook but they all require a Windows pc. I don't want to invest in a 2nd laptop yet in case she doesn't stick with these gigs I'm suggesting she try. We don't live together so passing it back and forth isn't an option.
I'm basically only sexting, taking calls, or using Skype or Discord these days. I was thinking about getting a Chromebook for light browsing and writing anyway. It would save me from having to disconnect my setup every time I want to browse or write from another room. I guess my phone can work in a pinch but something I can use my webcam and ethernet with (either through a port or adapter) would be more reliable.
So, Skype or Discord on a Chromebook - doable or will I be setting myself up for frustration?

YouCam is sooooo cpu draining for me. It eats it up, does it for anyone else? I have a powerful laptop too so I think it’s just super cpu heavy.
interested in trying the snap cam and just seen they have it for windows
desktop now, but on the guides it’s all intergrated with Rtmp like obs etc.
how would I use it with streamate? Cause streamate doesn’t like you using the external broadcasters??

YouCam is sooooo cpu draining for me. It eats it up, does it for anyone else? I have a powerful laptop too so I think it’s just super cpu heavy.
Same here, using like 20% but I only run 2 sites+skype and CPU stays around 45-50% so it's ok for me. I use youcam for a few years and I just can't without it, I like the smoothener too much.

interested in trying the snap cam and just seen they have it for windows
desktop now, but on the guides it’s all intergrated with Rtmp like obs etc.
how would I use it with streamate? Cause streamate doesn’t like you using the external broadcasters??
Snap cam can be accessed through SM’s encoder

Update: it appears that clearing snap cam’s cache in settings fixes the issues I was having. Anyway, it’s free and there are several very light smoothing filters. I really like that I can use much less foundation without looking washed out by my lights. I can also use lower settings on my lights to avoid migraines because it sharpens my eyes.

I want to say thanks for the advice on this thread I haven't streamed with it yet but I bought a recommendation and it's beautiful. I've never had to go this high end before, I can feel the quality.
Set up fairly easy and hoping to try in next few days.
Customers kept telling me my stream was fine, so I'm thinking they may wonder what's hit them?
Was using IE 3 on a very full (with documents, vids, photos laptop) will now be Ryzen 7 }:D;D

SB did you get the Asus I was asking Cutie about a few posts ago?

I would like to buy a Yeti, problem is all my 3 USB ports are taken.
I have 2 x cameras (1 for each of 2 sites), plus emitter for blue tooth wireless keyboard. I don't use the wireless keyboard much but it is useful.
I've tried USB extenders but find they won't power more than 1 device so useless.

Which webcams are you using? I just got a Logitech Streamcam and it has a different type of USB connector, a USB C so you COULD (if you have a USB C socket) change to one of those, freeing up a standard USB for the Yeti. It's an expensive way to do it, and you may not need to change up your webcam but it is an option! :)

I have a Logitech 920 & 922 I am thinking of upgrading one of the cameras to a Brio, is the stream cam just as good as the Brio?Yes I have a USB C but I thought that was the charge the laptop rather than an socket I can connect gadgets to.

I also see that Logitech make a wireless keyboard which doesn't require a bluetooth adaptor, is that correct? It doesn't however have a touch pad.

I can't compare that as I only had C920's and IMO it's better than that but not that much better! What is nice is the fact it can do 60 FPS but no idea if the Brio does that. Yes the cam plugs into a USB C the same as you would use a standard USB. I only learnt this recently too!

Looks that way doesn't it, I guess you would need a mouse too. Looks there there are a few ways around it then, all of which cost more money, typical!

As luck has it there's a keyboard in the house, Bluetooth connects without a USB nodule. Doesn't have a tracker pad but it's sufficient, Yeti ordered.

This will pretty much solve your problem: https://www.amazon.com/Splitter-Charging-Individual-Switches-Extension/dp/B07G8CMR18/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1I441UG5I0YX6&keywords=usb+hub&qid=1644294582&sprefix=usb+hub%2Caps%2C176&sr=8-6
I have something similar, as I do not have many USB ports either. I use it to plug my mouse and keyboard Bluetooth receivers and the Lovense USB adapter.
Keep the PC USB ports for the webcams and the microphone. And btw, why using 2 webcams? You prefer it that way, or you have never used a splitting program, to stream on more sites with one webcam?

Thank you, I tried a splitting programme when I first started, couldn't work it out - didn't get on with it so chose to keep it simple by using 2 cameras.

I have been using verysoft splitter for 10 years now, without a problem. You might wanna try it. It costs $20 but it's low CPU consuming and will help you use only one webcam. The simple, verysoft software (not the verysoft pro). If you wanna get rid of one of the webcams, of course.

If you have a desktop PC and have space you can install an expansion card. I'm installing a USB 3 expansion card & capture card to keep the clutter to a minimum.
