They answered me back as well and said basically the same thing but made it sound like we would get paid on the 13th I asked them to clarify. They really should have a list of that kind of stuff for us.
they told me our first Calgems paycheck will be on February 13th. I assume that's the day they'll send out ACH, so I would expect to get it the next day/Friday if you signed up for direct deposit.

so it looks like our first pay period goes from 1/29 through 2/8. then the next one would be 2/8 to 2/22 and so on.

It looks like MFC and chaturbate are business as usual. This is a great question though. I think niteflirt is fine also.

Does anyone know which sites other than SM & cams have switched over to employee status for cam models now?

That's complete bullshit. That's their own fault, that's not our fault. They should just honor it. This is really getting to be a little slimy in my opinion.

i mean... I don't disagree with you but it did state in our contracts that if we are ever overpaid, we do have to give it back.

that's why I brought it to their attention. I didn't want this to go on for longer as some error that no one mentioned and then all of a sudden they realize they overpaid a bunch of people and we had to send it all back. it would've sucked if it accumulated. thankfully it only amounted to like 80 cents for me because my shift that night sucked anyway.

Hello,

You will submit a timesheet on the 2nd and the 9th. This is your two-week period. You will them be paid out on the 13th.

"On Sunday, February 2nd, you will submit hours for January 30th through February 1st. Hours for Sunday the 2nd will be tracked on your next timesheet, due February 9th."

Using the above, you can extrapolate all future pay cycles, if that helps?

Thank you,
CAL Gems

I agree with you but at the same time this thing has been a mild shit show from the start. When we got the 30% I was thinking maybe it wasn't a mistake because people are getting different percentages across the board. I obviously don't know the scenario but I took it that they had to switch us over individually but maybe they did some kind of ad hoc thing in their computer and that's where we got 30%. It will be nice to get a pay period under our belt and feel more normal. This whole thing has caused way more stress than any of us need.

yeah, same. my guys were saying my profile picture was a screencap from free chat. i've had the static pic for years. did you message CalGems or SM Support? I don't even know if we're ever supposed to email SM support anymore.

apparently my guys couldn't buy block sessions either! i went to my home page where the block session rates usually are and the option to edit them isn't even there. are we not going to be able to offer block sessions as employees?! or is this just a regular streamate glitch?

i posted in the streamate complaint thread to see if other girls noticed this, or if it's just california girls.

I think when they make changes to our account like that, like when they shut down my account in December, some stuff does get changed around. When they reopened my account it slowly took a few days for everything to work exactly as it was, even my placement got messed up and I was like on page 100,000 for a few days LOL, I also did not have my porn star status for a little while either but then miraculously it all popped up. I messaged regular SM support or I would even just go straight to Liz. I think CalGems is basically just paying us and has to do with our payroll not much else.

yeah fair enough, CalGems is probably sick of hearing from me anyway, haha. I just emailed Liz.

I hope it's just what you said -- an account glitch of sorts that can be resolved. I will be beyond pissed if we lose the ability to do block sessions as employees. I don't see why that would make sense though so I won't stress about it. Just sucks because I lost out on a ton of money tonight. super lame.

If not I'll message Liz on Monday. I don't remember that happening back in December but I might not of been paying attention. I definitely had a pause button and block sessions as well before the switchover

usually everything has to be reinstated when accounts are moved to studios
They prob focused more on keeping ratings, favs and comments bc that is what you dont want to lose as they are not found when erased.

I got booted from streamate as I am a CA resident and I tried joining chaturbate as a tip earner and they didnt approve my age verification despite it being the right info so is chaturbate not accepting new california models because the califronia law ab5 got passed? You could try MFC. Maybe reach out to chaturbate support and ask specifically. If you don't mind doing the studio route, I think Boleyn models has a good handle on sites that are taking CA models. They have a thread on here.

No. I signed up for Chaturbate two days ago and was ok. I hated it though and it's not an option for me. However, my main image is my new biopic and not some random screenshot. IDK about the break button I don't remember if it was there or not.

Stripchat has yet to kick me off for being in California, and I’m finding their traffic is really good. Ever since I started paying attention to only token sites after Streamate booted me, that site in particular has really picked up. I also split mfc, chaturbate and manyvids live, tho I’m not doing as well with those sites.

Is anyone able to raise their rates beyond what they are making now? The highest I can now is 8.99

I contacted SM support & Cal Gems, aaaaaand crickets. I haven't been on since the change, but I hope they fix it soon, b/c just the thought of earning less will not make me a very happy cam girl.

For the girls that have worked for studios, do they do anything special for you to justify taking a percentage of your earnings, besides helping you fill out the paperwork?

oh weird, I just looked and I can't go any higher than what my rates are currently set to either. i used to be able to go up to 14.99. now my limit is 9.99, which is my exclusive rate. (edit: and my private rate is limited to 6.99, what it's currently at.)

i'm hoping this can all be chalked up to the "switchover" of them having to go into our accounts to change our commission rate, like what a few girls mentioned on the previous page. i'm not sure why all these features would get lost in the process (currently I also can't offer block sessions and I lost my pause button) -- but hopefully it's a mistake and it all gets resolved soon.

With the issue RE: the removal of static profile pics - I emailed SM support about it this morning because my profile pic switched to live as well and they changed it back to a static one. I'm under the impression that for tech/account stuff we still reach out SM support.

Finger's crossed! I'm going to try and squeeze in a couple of hours tomorrow and make the measly 29%, gawd they take such a big cut!!!!!!!
I know, I'm a broken record.

Since they are now paying us minimum wage, maybe I'll just turn my cam on fully clothed and watch some TV, fold my laundry, balance my check book, browse through Reddit, write in my journal, shred some old bills, clean out my inbox, text a couple of friends, paint my nails... Ya know, this just may work out in our favor lol

As someone who logs on and off constantly throughout the day I'm confused about the time sheet tracking. Like I log off almost every time a show ends so I can take my time getting dressed, I'm assuming that unless I'm logged off for more than a couple minutes I don't have to worry about it? Also what I have been doing to keep track is take a photo with my phone of the corner of my computer screen where the date and time is displayed when I log on and again once I've logged off. Then at the end of the week I can plug all the dates and times in.

GracieBlue

Same! I log on and off for snacks or whatever. I keep track of my earnings and time in a planner anyway so I'm just now writing down the actual time I log in and log off. The break thing is confusing though. Last night was really good for me and I don't necessarily want to stop and take a half hour break and lose my momentum. I'm assuming it's more for if our commission is less than minimum wage.

EXACTLY. It's such a pain in the ass. Also i can't remember to track every single time i push pause (or stop show at the moment bc of glitches from the switchover). And it's also irritating because they already have our times on our accounts. We're doing more admin work for less pay. My timesheet is going to be a bunch of entries I guess. I'm just still so irritated with the whole thing. And I used to be under BM dailypay too. errrggh. Sorry that turned into a rant.

The only thing is I wonder about shortchanging ourselves on the minimum wage vs commission thing if we're not constantly 'clocking in and out' during those brief times. Because a minute here and there adds up, and our earnings/time ratio would get messed up. I mean I guess if we're way beyond minimum wage that wouldn't matter so much?

Also, $12 is the minimum wage rate they're paying/counting commission against, yes?

Well those minutes do add up. I don't know why Cal-Gems just doesn't keep track of our time like SM does, it's just so low effort on their part. They probably want to make it so awful for us with the low pay and all that we quit. CA is just a crumb to them, when they have the rest of the world making them money.
I do exactly the same thing, log on and off multiple times, but that's a great idea, thank you!!
Just to save myself the headache, I'll try to just power through. I only cam 3-4 hours a day, so it's pretty doable if I put my mind to it.

I assume they'll want your SM "time online" page to match the time you input in your timesheet. SM's page is listed in minutes, but the excel sheet they sent us seems to be calculated correctly to match up with the equivalent, presuming you put in the correct hours.

If you log off and on and off and on, I think you need to track every chunk of time on a different spreadsheet line.

I was told that we can in fact submit our timesheets in PST. So I listed the dates and times I worked in the last few days, within 1/29 at 4pm through yesterday at 4pm. I inputted the time I logged in and out and it automatically calculated the hours for me.

I'd be hesitant to take advantage of the "minimum wage" component. Since we're employees now, I think they'll be scrutinizing us more than contractors. They ideally don't want to pay you minimum wage out of their own pockets (particularly if it's clear you're putting in no effort, such as with the tasks you mentioned), which is likely why they fired/let some girls go before the onboard process, because they had no track record of actually making good money for the site. I assume they expect you to make a commission higher than minimum wage. I wouldn't be surprised If they do a some kind of "employee review" a few months down the line, and if they see you logging a bunch of hours but not making over minimum wage via your own tips/shows, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they fired you.

Yeah I was just kidding. And you're right, they'll be watching. A couple weeks back I asked for a higher percentage saying that I'm part-time and I won't be receiving any benefits and they replied that they are offering minimum wage. I commonly work like 9 PM to 1 AM, 8 o'clock if I can get my ass in gear till about one or two am at the latest. As I recall you don't have to clock out for 15 minute breaks or 10 minute breaks you clock out for breaks that are 30 minutes or longer. So if you're working like a 4 to 5 hour shift and you log out here in there I think that's totally fine. And if not they need to get more clear with us. I know reading comprehension is not my strong suit LOL but I feel like they're not very clear.;D

They are lucky I got it even inputted. I'll try harder next time LOL. I don't think mine added up the hours but I sent it anyway. Probably about two hours ago I was near tears because I couldn't figure it out and I just decided it's not worth it, and I wrote when I submitted the hours that I did my best and if I did something wrong then they can let me know.:)
