I personally think it's all going to be delayed. They have to make all new studio girls contracts now because they did that wrong. I also can't see them working over the weekend to make this happen. I mean it seems like a big project. Also Katy said Liz said the 15th but who knows.
Maybe studio performers will take till the 15th.
my main worry/concern is that if CalGems/SM told you that this pay period will be our last payment from SM, that they may not allow us to continue working until all the HR stuff gets set up -- and they'll just brush it off and blame everything on the HR company instead of taking any responsibility themselves.
edit: also, if nothing did happen til the 15th, I could see that causing a ton of scheduling/payment complications, since it's right in the middle of a pay period. it does make sense for them to start it on saturday, the issue is that nothing is set up yet. so in reality it makes the most sense to start it next next saturday, the 18th. but we'll see if they respond to anyone.

here's an article from an adult industry lawyer about why you shouldn't incorporate or get an LLC as an attempt to get around AB-5:

gah, the weirdly enthusiastic tone and amount of exclamation marks in that email comes off as super unprofessional and in no way gives me hope that this will be a good company to work with. -____-

I think either way it's going to get messed up the timing is not perfect. The pay periods don't align at all. They would be smart to just start it on February 1. Answer everyone's questions and iron out all the kinks. I never got an official email either that was just me corresponding with whoever HR is at CalGems. I did just receive the email from resourcing edge. Hopefully more girls will chime in.

Do you mind sharing a little bit about what the email said? Was this an official email or was it just a correspondence chain with them?
Per a new email sent out today the changes take affect this Saturday and NOT the 15th. Not everyone got this email. I have yet to hear from the company that is hiring us so I reached out via email and both times my emails were returned as undeliverable. Are we getting ghosted? Kinda freaked out.
Edit to add after reading recent comments, I was offered 30%

I am in the process of filling out all the HR account info online. It says it needs to be completed by 1/12.
I hope all the models check their spam folders or these forums, otherwise I would have had no idea it was there.

Where is that? Is that part of the online process, or did they email you something? I didn't get any attachments.
Also giant LOL and WTF for SM using a regular vanilla HR company... I wonder if they even understand they are dealing with cammodels, and what that implies. (We shouldn't have additional site-related rules just because we're employees now. I can't wait to read this "employee handbook" but I don't see it yet.)

If you click the menu at the top left just scroll down and it's there. They also say we can't post on social media while at work LOL! Vanilla is right, good Lord! So we can't tweet that we're on cam?

Yeah I see it now, but it seems like it won't let me access it until I complete all the other tax form/info? Did you complete the whole thing and then get access to the handbook, or are you able to just click on it?
Also yeah, we need to get an official statement from CalGems/SM as to what they realistically expect out of us as "employees." Sounds like some generic BS that ultimately won't affect us, but if that's the case, then why would CalGems specifically reference us having to agree to the "employee handbook" in the initial contract? We've heard your feedback, and are providing this summary to answer some of the most commonly asked questions:Commission rates are based on 2019 earnings and projected earnings for 2020. More information on these benefits will be provided during onboarding with Resourcing Edge.Commission applies to NET sales generated on the site, including gold, exclusives, etc. Referral commissions, bonuses, and contests payouts rates remain the same, minus applicable taxes and deductions. OK I got the same thing in a reply to questions that I had. So they did the whole copy and paste routine. That's complete bullshit though that they are trying to start it on the 11th. I really think people should complain, on the contract it says the 15th. They should hold to that. It's not fair. They gave no one notice to be honest.

Yeah but parts of the contract also say that certain things are effective after January 1st (which is clearly not what happened), so the whole thing is a mess.
GracieBlue

It really is! But if you look at the contract we signed it says this commission rate starts on January 15. Also, they should be sending out an official email to everyone saying it's starting the 11th. If it wasn't for this message board and for me paying attention like I wouldn't know that I needed to start keeping track on Saturday.

^ I agree -- and again, it is *awfully* nice of them (/s) to do all of this right before the damn weekend, when they won't get back to anyone's questions/emails! If we are all officially employees under CalGems and reporting to this HR company as of Saturday, I want to know what the hell kinds of "employee expectations" they have of us. I need to see in writing that they don't expect us to follow the employee handbook dress codes and whatnot. That is goddamn ridiculous. We get paid most when we're basically naked... That'll be real fun to explain to HR.
Also, are all CA model accounts just going to be suspended after Saturday if they don't have their paperwork in yet?
Oh man I am fuming a little, I need some wine. >_<

I drove for Uber 4 years ago for about 3 months - fun but totally not my thing - anywho - the driving app would shut down after you hit a certain number of hours driving - I think you could drive 14 hours before it cut off but I cant remember the exact hours - anyway I wouldn't be surprised if SM doesn't implement something along that line to control hours/breaks
GracieBlue

Got my 29%! They sent me a new contract! It still says the 15th as the start date. I think if only a handful of people were told the 11th but no official notice or email to all, I don't think it's happening till the 15th. I'm just going to work as usual and track which I do anyway. I wouldn't mind pulling some marathon hours over the weekend to get a nice last daily pay chunk!
GracieBlue

I don't know. We are just supposed to track our hours and submit them. SM keeps track of minutes anyway.

I sent them two separate emails asking about the 11th/15th discrepancy, as well as asking them about the employee handbook. I said it was unrealistic and incompatible with cam performances to expect us to have a dress code, other than the free chat/no nudity rules laid out in the Code of Conduct. I specifically asked them to tell me if they expect employees to follow anything *other* than the Streamate Code of Conduct while streaming.
They responded "We have escalated these questions, and hope to have an official response back soon."

;D I got that one before also. They told me to reach out to Melissa about tracking my hours. I just asked if we needed to start tracking on the 11th or the 15th. I think they are so swamped and overwhelmed they're not even reading anything hardly. I don't think they expected this many questions and inquiries.
As for your question regarding hours tracking, you can reach out to Melissa, our Human Resources' business contact at Resourcing Edge with these types of questions.

If it starts 12am PST Sunday, that means if we work on Streamate tomorrow (Saturday) we'll be on a new streamate pay week from 4pm to midnight PST.
Also that means that our current earnings report will not reflect the correct dates or times because they are in GMT, which sounds like it will be annoying AF to keep track of.

I'm not very confident that our earnings report on streamate will reflect the correct percentage after whatever the start date is. So even if it continues to show our 35% cut we may only get the 29 on our paychecks.
Unless that's an easy change on SM's end. Gracie you said you used to work for a studio right? Did it show your studio percentage cut on your earnings page?

It will look like this most likely. In some ways I feel like they're treating us kind of like a studio if you know what I mean. I have not worked today LOL. I am assuming it might look something like this if you look at the bottom. But when I do make money it reflects the 30% that I get and I think that's what it is probably going to happen with us, it will reflect the percentage that we're getting. I mean unless they plan on doing some crazy math for a few days, I don't know.

Exactly why I will not be camming from Saturday at 4p-Sunday at 12a. I do not want my money in limbo. I do not think SM is coordinating any of this with resource edge as they would have told us if they knew of the time difference, no? I think that money made Sat night will end up being paid way later when they figure out the mistake. Just my 2 cents.
