Now I’m feeling confused on top of confused about how to adapt during this health pandemic.
Wanting to have male affection but not wanting to risk my physical (or mental) health dealing with dudes that’s probably just coming back around so they can see how much they can take advantage of the situation.
I feel like ranting in the I Hate Men thread

I jumped on the bandwagon of ordering contact-free delivery food, but only because I had a gift card to cover it. Chicken shawarma sandwiches, falafel, and baba ghanouj, ftw!

^ Yesssss. Sounds SO good.
I went to one of my fave coffee shops and it was so sad to not sit on the patio with the view. There was a walk up window though.
I think I'm having Costa Vida tonight. I drove by one and it sounded so good.

I'm at the stage where I wish there was a food shortage so I wouldn't have gained 4 lbs from eating out of boredom. Time to ration my food from MYSELF. LOL.

My tally ( rough ) is about $2000-$2500 ish in income lost for the last two weeks of March.
I know the month isn't over but I'm not really expecting any earnings in the next 5 days. It's not a " woe is me " thing either. More like " hey , this is a reality of what has happened so far and moving on from here ".

I usually have my dog walker for 3 half hour walks a week. I don't need help right obviously when I am working from home, but I asked if he'd want to do my dog's long evening walk around one night a week for as long as this is going on for. That way he is still making most of what he usually does from me, and I get one of my evenings back. We were all set for him to walk my dog tonight but he cancelled last minute saying he had car trouble. Maybe he really was, idk.

The Amish girl is worried. There’ve been furloughs and layoffs at her work. I recommended when she started that she apply to be a refueler. They’re short handed with those and she’s been working still. For how much longer, I don’t know.

I feel " meh " today.
I'm in a beautiful home in the desert but bored and listless. I guess I'll take my dog out ! Haha.
Hey, I just got a day job lead for a sale ( the first in 10-11 days ) !

omg I’m going through the same thing. I know I’ve gained at least 5 pounds in the quarantine. I’m making a conscious decision to exercise in my house and to stop eating out of boredom and frustration. I hope it works.

Starting to get stir crazy. Normally I hate spending money on takeout - if I eat out, I want to sit in the restaurant. Considering it just for something to do now!
I'm glad that companies are showing their true colors through this. The ones that aren't paying their staff, forcing them to work (cough, GameStop), etc. I legit have a list of companies I will & won't support after the dust settles.
The CEOs of Darden (Olive Garden) and Texas Roadhouse are giving up their own salary and paying their employees still. SO's company just said "see ya in April" and even fired half their corporate level staff. They're giving everyone the runaround about using their PTO/sick pay even. Guess they have no actual liquid money
The irony is that they have a company culture of hating on Texas Roadhouse - even held a management meeting at one for the sole purpose of talking shit about how bad the food was ::) Guess they were just jealous and threatened all along.

My company is doing a great job. They announced an extra leave program for staff affected by the pandemic and have used up their PTO and sick time. Anyone who needs more time off to care for kids out of school, sick family or who are sick themselves are getting an extra 80 hours of leave at full pay. Everyone is being really flexible

Taking some time to process some negative feelings. I have to get back on my grind. A pity party solves nothing. I don’t won’t to ignore my feelings, but it also doesn’t serve me to sit and stew in negativity. Working on releasing my anger at the corporations, government, and the idiots that won’t stay home. I’m just keeping the focus on the solution. The solution right now is to just relax. Being stressed out won’t help my immune system if I get sick. I’ll deal with whatever comes to pass-no need to worry. I have faith in a power greater than myself to help me live life on life’s terms.

I need to ration food myself bc I'm eating out of boredom & comfort blah :(
Holy shit, I've spent like over $200 in 2 weeks on food! I'm def getting stir crazy as well & trying to not blow up on everyone due to my pms & boredom. It's getting hard. I can't wait until I can have my own space again ugh I'm soo over living with others yuck!
On a lighter note, I did makeup today so I'd feel less ugly LOL
I'm sleeping more, waking up without a reason to not lie in bed is hard. I hate being so dam sedentary! I'm lazy enough as it is but now I just feel like a sloth blah.
Really hope they contain this thing asap so we can all resume life as it once was!

I got a job babysitting in my building for a bit over minimum wage. The problem is, now I don't feel like doing it. I've had some success selling nudes and now that job doesn't seem so good anymore. I know I am being a spoiled brat but like the parents will be there watching me like a hawk since they are working from home and IDK if I am down. Additionally, I signed up for Streammate, just waiting for approval. I'm losing my figure from eating so much and not working out. NYC is in complete shut down and it blows. I watched the Tiger King on netflix, highly recommend. My BF just left back home to EUROPE after a long couple months here. He had to leave because all the flights are getting cancelled and the borders are shutting day by day but i am SO depressed now. :(

I'm well. It's just getting warm enough to start doing some stuff in the yard. I don't think I've ever cooked so much in my entire life! No restaurant meals in two weeks. My daughter and I have both lost weight. We are running every morning, first thing. We eat breakfast together, no rush to get to school and work. That's kind of nice, but she's a teen, so she's not too thrilled with being stuck at home with an adult. Daughter had her heart set on going to New York City for spring break, but that is obviously not going to happen. And, the schools moved spring break back to last week, which really was a bummer for daughter. We'll hit NYC this summer or in the fall. But, she is pretty sure the world is ending being stuck at home with me. BF took an assignment in Puerto Rico working for his company, so he's on his own, having a good time. We video chat and stuff, but it's not the same. I'm taking all my meetings by phone/video. I have work split in two shifts to maintain social distancing as best we can. Daughter is working some at her part time job, at a grocery store. That gives her an excuse to get out of the house. Everything could be so much worse, so I'm pretty good. (Just wish BF was home to keep me entertained.)

I’ve made it a point to run daily since I can’t go to the gym, so ‘S’ has been joining me for that. Even if she does slow me down, I appreciate the company. Though I felt bad for her today, running behind me. None of us felt like cooking last night, so we did take out. And I’m so gassy today, I feel like I could launch myself to the moon.

The only thing I actually like about this whole issue is that I don't feel rushed. At all. I can take the entire day at turtle pace if I so wish. Honestly, I was also getting kind of burnt out again so it's like an involuntarily stay-cation and I am appreciating the work that I will be happy to be back when able to. It's all perspective and keeping faith!

I can't post anything I'm doing on social media. I am extra careful with social distancing but I'm also taking my dog out on hikes every day. This is keeping me fit and him happy but I don't think people really " get it " ( I am not touching or interacting any more than I would be under strict house orders ) . I'm just touching my own car + food from my little stock pile . If I see people out on the trail we have kept distance really well ( and I'm experienced in back country hiking where I see very few people anyway ).
I am worried about getting judged for how I'm spending the week but I know I'm careful and cautious other than my shenanigans with fooling around with two men of my choosing .
I'm dark on social media when the rest of the world can't stay off it and shut their mouths for 5 minutes. Haha.

I think restaurant in my area will be closed at least until mid April and I feel such a touch of sadness over it . I enjoy those outings SO much and I feel stressed about the staff / chefs affected. I am still getting take out here and there and buying gift cards to help them but it's not the same.

3 out of 4 of the day job clients I have in the next 2 weeks pushed their service BACK instead of canceling.
This helps me tremendously. I get to keep the retainers ( which to be honest I have already spent ).
I have 3 more clients mid April clients I don't know the status of yet but I feel so comforted in getting to keep the $ and still work with ones I have heard from so far .

^my prospective clients are booking appointments but not showing up.....I need to figure a way to keep them from doing this and wasting my time because I'll spend 30min to prep beforehand and then it takes me a few minutes afterwards to release the negative thought pattern/snap out of the mental chatter of how I want to kick their monkey asses for wasting my time

That’s exactly what I’m recommending and what they agree to then these tricks don’t show up the day of.
I think I’m going to shorten the window for the appointment. Like tell them were going to do the video meet and set a time 24 hours or less (instead of up to 48hrs away).
I wish I could charge them like how doctors offices threaten to charge $25 if you don’t cancel/reschedule within 24hrs

I feel kind of " meh " today. I took the dog out for a long beautiful drive yesterday. One area we went to had way too many people so I didn't even park ( I should have known better than to try it ). I headed for a back country area not many people know about and it was peaceful.
As far as the quarantine goes .... I know I have it really good. I just feel blah today.

So there is a case of Corona in my building. Not really surprised I am in NYC and the hardest hit borough but it's still unsettling. As such, I got laid off from my nannying job IN the building. Can't say I blame them. I'm starting to rather enjoy the quarantine. So weird.

Or anyday.....
I find it ironic that businesses closed to avoid spread of large crowds over 10 yet grocery stores packed like clubs on a Saturday night.
Now that staffing is cut this means longer lines and more time you'll be in the building with hundreds of possibly sick people.
Why don't they make grocery stores delivery/pickup only like they're doing restaurants???
The number of corona cases has dramatically increased over past 2 weeks.

So sick & tired of the online groceries being unavailable, like literally have to play roulette on when it'll be available. So fucking sick of being stuck somewhere I'm miserable right now. So sick of being bored & running out of fun movies to watch. I have alot of anger towards alot of things right now & with people.
If anything positive about being locked in somewhere is that I have my health right now & i've learned alot

Whole Foods is limiting occupancy to 25 customers. But, they seem to have twice that many employees in the store at the same time. However, lots of vulnerable people have no idea, or even no means to order carryout groceries. It comes down to risk management. Closing clubs, restaurants and most retail does reduce the number of exposures, but makes the time period longer for the disease. The government is betting a lot on the end of the cold and flu season.
The number of corona cases has dramatically increased over past 2 weeks.
Cases are up, the incubation period on the initial infections is over, so that's what statistics tell us to expect. Also the number of people fully recovering is up too. Again, what statistics tell us to expect. The number of people testing positive is also up. But, that's because the number of tests is finally increasing. (Dumb government for not having enough test kits on hand.)

I kind of can't believe Mr. NY didn't quarantine and spend 3-4 days entertaining and fucking me. I was very surprised by it. I am kind of questioning my decision to invite him down here ( obviously ) but I'm also like ..... what the hell is he running home to go do ? If he wanted to hike longer durations than me why not join me for a small hike 2-3 miles and then do another 3-4 miles with just him ?
He drove like 4 hours WEST of where he was to only stay one night and then drove 5 hours North to supposedly go stay in the place he shares with his brother. ;/
Oh well.

Feeling better. My sister recovered from coronavirus after 5 days. She heard from the news or someone (I dunno we aren't in communication...word of mouth from mom) told her to take tylenol not ibuprofen (makes it worse) and she is now fine after 5 days. She's 31yrs old w/ no pre-existing conditions. On another note I'm on day 4 of working my way up to a 50 pushup workout challenge on top of an hour walk with the dogs. Going well!

Yes. That’s my plan for grocery shopping - go to the smaller niche stores with less people like Whole Foods etc. or order online and then have them bring it to my trunk so I can avoid the crowded lines

Lots of supermarkets do. ^ Call and ask before you go there. You can also call and ask if the store is full or not. Go when they say it's not as full and get everything you need for 2 weeks to a month. Hello fresh/every plate/ Blue Apron is delivering still if anyone wants a meal kit, I can give you promo codes. It's been a god send.

Worried for the Irish woman. She passed up the opportunity to return home and decided to stay here instead. I would’ve opted for the less dense population and better healthcare system, had it been me. They have her doing admin work from home, and I know she’s spoiling my dog rotten.

Well my strategy to stay calm and look at this like a 14 day thing ( my state has been closed down since mid March ) has worked. It's March 30 now and even though I never really knew the " end " of the shut downs ...... for me I like thinking of it in terms of " sit tight a week or two ".
It makes it seem more manageable.
Now I have kind of settled in. I don't think my state will reopen anything until mid April.
