When I first saw this? I thought the dancers would all bank when this was over. Now I’m not so sure, because this is way worse than any of us expected. And What about wearing masks? They are saying that the requirements for masks and social distancing are going to remain for a while. How would that work in a strip club? I am seriously wondering if they will come back at all. I’m not trying to be negative....just realistic. Unless they did some kind of behind the glass peep show type of thing...or it was stage only. It’s just so bizarre...all of it.
The reason I say this, is because in China when they opened the bars...everyone is wearing masks . I really don’t understand how we are going to get through these rules unless they completely change the business model of these places. I do think underground prostitution will thrive and of course camming. You also have to think that these club owners have their hands in many other streams of income. So if this is no longer profitable they will shut them down. I mean I don’t want to see everyone lose their jobs but I this is not a normal situation, and I hope I’m wrong. I just don’t think it will be the same To be honest!
Some of the stripperwear stores have created some really cute masks! Malaya’s Exotic Wear (on Instagram) has a bunch of styles. If wearing a mask means I can go back to work then bring them on lol.
China has ALWAYS worn masks out. It’s part of their norm to wear a face mask when in public. We aren’t China lol. Honestly I really do think things will open up soon. Maybe not our industry as of right now, but by Aug/Sept latest. There are concerts and other public events that are still on schedule for that timeframe. But I will say I’d LOVE a stage only club for a little while!
I know some girls on here are living in the hot spots, but for example where I am we have less than 200 cases in the county. I think people are getting over all the fearmongering the media was dishing out and is anxious to go on with their normal life.

MMM, sure for people not in the hotspots but none of us here in NYC want to go out or get on with our lives lest we become part of the next 10,000 lost to the Covid. Really cloth masks do next to nothing to protect you which is what those cute masks that the stores are starting to market are. To go back to work, we would need N95 masks or at least surgical masks and we don't have any. Gov Cuomo said today that WHEN we start opening back up, it would only be certain businesses that can maintain social distance and everyone needs to wear masks and we need way way way more testing. I don't forsee this happening anytime before September as kids probably won't head back to school till then. Yes some social events have been postponed till October (edc, coachella, etc) but who knows if that will even go on if we get the second wave that they're saying we may get in the Fall.

My state is already talking about reopening our public so I really don’t know :/ just have to wait and see. But I think it will be good for all the other states to see how the west coast does as far as a spike in cases so everyone can start opening!

Not only are those "cute stripper" masks not protective enough... what guy is gonna want to see a girl's face half way covered? That's gonna take the fun out of it. Even if you do wear cute protective N95 masks, you still gotta distance yourself. How are you gonna be able to talk to someone with loud ass music blasting at 6ft distance??? Speaking of social distancing... researchers say it MAY be extended until 2022! https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Health/coronavirus-updates-social-distancing-measures-2022-researchers/story?id=70156893&__twitter_impression=true
Another thing too, many men will be working from home for God knows how long, and then you have these travel bans.
Honestly, I'm not keeping high hopes for the industry. More neutral, bc part of me misses it... but I ain't holding my breath(no pun, ha) just in case we never go back. Let's be realistic. It is what it is.

Hi ladies, hope you and your families are getting by okay. I’m 41 now and left the business 5 years ago, but I was in for 16 years. (Another lifer who got rescued.). I’m sorry to say that it is probably a good time to exit the industry at least for a couple years. I know it’s easier said than done I’ve been there. In the 2008 crash I stayed in because I was addicted to the lifestyle and money, despite having ways out. What happened was a sharp and drastic decline in money, and sharp decline in the standards. When those declines happened they were permanent, things never went to pre-recession conditions. This is likely to happen again and be more extreme given the fear and phobia of the population, the move to a cashless economy, track and trace technologies (spurring paranoia), and more government control over business.

If you think of the economy as a pyramid, the bottom of it has just been taken out and that means everyone above’s standards of living are going to decline. From the upper middle class down there will be less disposable income. There’s no getting around a deep recession/depression because the stimulus in America alone is already 2.5 trillion and more to come. This means inflation, less money for potential customers and less money for you. Meanwhile, tipouts, etc. will either stay the same or rise.

You know, over 30% of Americans haven't paid rent for this month. May 1st is around the corner.
Once this is over, it's going to take a while things get to normal. Like a year or so. But the problem is the mindset of male consumer will change even though it has changed.

I do think clubs will need to check to make sure customers n dancers aren’t so desperate, callous, and/or ignorant that they don’t come to the club while they’re sick. If they don’t then people will be better off in situation where They can do this themselves or their may be a shift to burlesque, peep shows, n cam (no contact)
This would be ideal for me tbh. My club was checking temperatures of customers and staff (non contact scan thermometers) and denying anyone with a fever temp shortly before the shutdowns

I heard 43% of working Americans have either lost their job or had their pay reduced. I was hoping this was going to be something we could bounce back from quickly, but I have been thinking that it could be months to years before things really return. Maybe this is just me, but will all these small businesses suffering, I have started to wonder if we will see some SC go out of business. I was reading today that many retailers are exploring bankruptcy options and I think your smaller and weaker businesses probably will not be able to survive this. I have never been so grateful to have another job and to still have a steady income, but Its not the same to have the income, opportunities and lifestyle that dancing affords. Do you think there will be fewer clubs open after the dust settles or do you think I'm being too pessimistic? Did we many clubs close after 08?

clubs didn’t close after 2008....but that was totally different. That recession meant it was harder for girls to make money...but they stayed open. In fact, the clubs made up for lack of customers by hiring more girls and increasing fees. But now they are closed for a long time. They didn’t prepare for this, and I think every business that was already suffering will close anyway. Maybe you will get a rush of customers with cabin fever if they do reopen....but they might not spend as much.
The clubs got dirtier after 2008 to attract clientele. But will they still be like that after coronavirus? And will the customers still want that? I think everyone is freaked out by this in a way we never experienced. The opposite might happen....no contact dances/stage only might be more in demand(or forced by law now), people might want to just deal with webcam models and phone sex...like it could be a dramatic shift in our culture for a while.
So I actually think we may see a shift from what we saw before where the customers wanted to grab everything to like...nah I d rather not risk that anymore lol! Traumatic events tend to cause changes in human behavior...but hey I could be wrong.

I think the clubs are going to increase our fees. They may increase prices as well to account for the lack of customers/sales during that time and after. As far as PSO/cam, I have had some guys who said they were strip club guys but now that everything is shutting down they're looking for an alternative. Guys might also opt for a "to go" menu such as an escort or a girl that doesn't mind making house calls that way they don't have to step food in a germinfested strip club. At least ten guys have asked me to come over lol...I'm like uh no, were in the middle of a pandemic here.

A looooooong time ago I worked at a club in San Diego, and they had a 6-foot rule while naked. There was yellow tape on the stage that the dancer had to stay behind if a customers came up. They walked around with buckets afterwards asking everyone at the bar for tips for their performance. The dances were either on top of a table on the main floor, or in a dance area where the customer sat in a booth seat and the dancer was in front of the booth and out of reach.
Maybe something like this will be the new norm for a while everywhere.
Maybe girls everywhere will make more money on stage like some clubs already do.
I have a hard time believing anything will change in the private rooms since they've never seemed to regulate them despite vice raids and crackdowns.

Right, most clubs don't monitor the private rooms. The main floor could be 0 contact/ 6ft rule which would incentivize the private room further but like why would you want to risk getting sick? I already barely wanted to touch these guys. I never put my face too close to theirs , I dodged their kisses, etc. Gross.

After reading all this I feel less hopeful. Very sad because I only like working in a strip club, I don't enjoy any other similar work like camming or one on one with one customer where you're stuck with just him and can't see other girls, or hear the loud music etc. At that point I rather depend on a "normal" job lol. I'm so sick of this quarantine life, China should pay! Strip clubs are so fun and I really took it for granted before all this. Like yes some parts with customers are cringey but it's so worth the money and fun stories.

So how are the girls supposed to talk to the customers with loud music and masks on? I guess it would have to be stage only? They better not be charging housefees for this and they better pay those girls to show up. How crazy but not totally surprising

Girl. Enough with the conspiracy theories in every freakin' thread.
What does not seeing a patient have to do with anything? Fauci is in the position he's in for a reason. You don't lose your MD expertise just because you're high up and doing research instead of physically touching patients.

They are already tracing our every move. For now, it's just by our phone's GPS.
"By April 17, the researchers found, the share of people presumed to have stayed home - meaning their phones didn't move at least a mile that day - declined from a national average of 33 percent to 31 percent, compared with the previous Friday. That came after six weeks of the staying-home percentage increasing or holding steady.
The number of work trips remained about the same. However, the average number of personal daily trips grew to 2.5 per person, up from 2.4 the previous Friday - a 4 percent increase. Trips between counties and states also increased.
Because the study's sample size is so large - more than 100 million cellphones observed monthly - even slight changes are statistically significant".

And here, we're given cues about how going out to restraunts will look like when they reopen here. We are being told about how things are being currently done in China. This is the most disturbing part:
"QR codes
Residents in China are using QR codes to gain entry to businesses, such as restaurants; it's all part of a color-based health code system. Users sign up for the health code system and are required to enter personal information and answer a series of questions, such as previous travel, if you've had contact with a COVID-19 patient (suspected or diagnosed) and any symptoms you may be experiencing. You are then issued a red, amber or green color. Those with a red code will have to go into self-quarantine for 14 days; amber requires a quarantine period of seven days; green means you are allowed to move around the cities. Restaurants, based on the color of your health QR code, can either let you enter or turn diners away"

I am kinda sick and tired of this extreme fear mongering over a rather mild disease with a low mortality rate. Anyways clubs may or may not be fucked up for a long time. Now is a good time to find some other way to make a living at least temporarily. I think we are all going through some adjustments and borderline panicking because the fast cash money train has left the building.

Agree 100%. Fear mongering over the disease with low mortality rate is being used for some political reasons. Which ones, we will soon see. Looking for other sources of income instead of waiting for SCs to open, is a prudent advice.

The links I posted are to mass media outlets including CNN. If you disagree with the information, you can call it insane if you like. But don't shoot the messenger.
I apologize it was not a personal attack to you but the ideologies you are saying about the government trying some freaky control experiment. I think that, with the limited knowledge we had at the time regarding the virus, a lockdown seemed appropriate. But that was only supposed to last what 3-4 weeks MAX to prepare hospitals. Now we have idiots in charge of us saying we will not see freedom until a vaccine comes. Hey asshole governors, there isn’t even a vaccine for HIV and we’re supposed to put our lives on hold waiting for some rushed vaccine for a NEW STRAIN of virus??? Ughh....
And Newsom is all mad about people enjoying the beach and saying he will just “punish us further” and make lockdown stricter. Smh punish us for WHAT?? You can’t just close off nature like why is this being allowed? Sorry that turned into a rant lol I have too much to say on this

Hey they are finding out more and more about this virus everyday, look where we were even 2 weeks ago compared to now knowledge wise! It was all doomsday talk. Things are getting better slowly but surely! When people see Georgia hasn’t blown itself up they will start feeling safer and pushing for an end to this! I have hope :)

I know I am going to sound reckless here but look, our current reality is scary and almost unprecedented.
But at a point where the government says we need to try to resume everyday life, well, we all will. And we will go from there.
Strip bars will still be around. Society isn't going to change that radically.

This is not some freaky control experiment. They are openly talking about contact tracing by using technology and implementation of digital health certificates. China is already giving it's residents digital QR codes, and this idea is being openly duscussed in our media.

Yeah, I think as time goes on, authoritarianism is going to gain traction. And a lot of it is happening because the people themselves want it. I’ve heard SO MUCH anger directed that Trump didn’t require lockdowns on the national level and left it up to the discretion of the states. Federal power will keep going higher and higher and it will be because the people demand it.
And since I’m kinda venturing into political stuff here, I also wanted to predict that if one *must* travel dance, the best bet in the short term would be to choose a club in a more conservative hick kind of place. Where the customers may be less likely to be scared off from the virus and maybe even want to go into a club and get a dance just because “I ain’t a pussy and scared of no virus, damn it!” And hopefully at a club where it’s not too expensive to work. I heard of a place in Kansas that was charging a $150 travelers fee to dancers shortly before they shut down a week or two later tho :/ so extortion may end up a thing. Just all a guess there.

Ok what’s the horror in that? That has been used for a variety of health concerns, like SARS and HIV. I don’t think anybody has the time or desire to use that to stalk a random 20 yr old stripper in a random city lol. And why are we reading what the MEDIA has to say in all this? If you were to survey 100 random people and ask them do you trust what the media dishes out, how many would say yes? I wouldn’t. Whatever to get a headline and clicks right? So why now is everyone suddenly taking everything the media has to say to heart?
