Currently there is a Trump protest going on in Maricopa County in Arizona. These idiots are insisting the election was stolen from Trump (Why don't they talk to Pennsylvania about that?). It wasn't, Trump lost fair and square. But these people are batshit crazy. The counties are breaking for Biden. There's nothing they can do. We're in for it. There will probably be violence...

It's going to be interesting. This election basically said that the populace is tired of extremism and divisiveness on both sides of the aisle.
The voters spoke about Trump for sure. But this election was also a solid win for Republicans in both Congress and in state elections. A lot of people have not been happy with the Dems on a number of policy fronts, including COVID lockdown policies and their sharp veer to the left on fiscal and social policies. Some of these themes will hang around their necks for years to come.
The Republicans will control the Senate for sure. They will have 50 within the next few days once NC and AK confirm and with 2 runoff elections in GA on Jan 5 that will very likely break their way, that number will be 52.
But the Senate will not be the only check on Biden. At least 10 seats flipped in the House. Nancy Pelosi is now going to have her hands full with a very slim majority with very divergent views. To get anything passed she is absolutely going to need the cooperation of the Blue Dog Dems, who are pissed off right now because they bore the brunt of the House Dem election losses. In fact they had a call with Pelosi last week and chewed her out for the losses the party took due to this crazy ass nonsense.
And if Biden tries to get crazy with Executive Orders, the Supreme Court will inevitably put a stop to it.
All of this is to say that Biden is going to have to govern with a high degree of bipartisanship if he wishes to get anything done at all. Let's hope that he's up to it.

There is a fun thing (defended by a lot of people recently)called an executive order. People like Barr who spend their entire legal career with the pipe dream of collecting power in one branch via the courts often assume their ideals will always be in vogue.
I admit I skimmed over your initial point, but I don’t really think they will due to as I mentioned the idea that they will be in power in the end. They want the president to have as much power as possible, due to other factors that can be controlled like the electoral college.
It’s also silly how one party is expected to always play nice while in power while the other doesn’t politically play that way. Ask McConnell, who I believe is astounding at his job despite disagreeing with everything he believes.
Also I am not saying he will go crazy with EOs, he probably respects our institutions too much to do it. That is a typical Dem thing. Which for this I morally agree with them on

The actual left are not democrats. Democrats and Republicans hold very similar ideas on almost everything but social issues. Which was on purpose. They are both neo-liberals. The “left” do not believe the same concepts. To anyone who wants to debate this with me, please explain the difference between anarchism and Democratic socialism
I can attest that in one of those cities it was not a riot. There were no deaths, and they damaged an Amazon store and a Starbucks. Why are you so worried about them? There were also alt right protestors and a police force that is having more and more fired for their white supremacist associations. This is not that terrifying especially compared to what we witnessed 2 weeks ago.
I also think it was a stupid time to plan a protest

How soon we forget. Who fumbled and bumbled with H1N1 ? Obama and the guy he put in charge of dealing with it. BIDEN !
Trump didn't ignore the pandemic. He WAS slow to react to it. He DID get some terrible advice from Fauci et.al. Go back and review Fauci's statements about Covid from late January , 2020 through the Summer. His pronouncements seemed to change with the weather. Who is responsible for the vaccines we have now ? Trump.
As late as yesterday he is still poo pooing hydroxychloroquine as a treatment fir Covid. Which flies in the face of hundreds of thousands of successfully treated patients worldwide.

The fumbling and bumbling that killed 3% as many Americans as COVID-19? And accounted for at most 8% worldwide deaths from H1N1 as opposed to 20% for COVID-19? America First!
Who is responsible for the vaccines we have now ? Trump.
Not Trump, BioNTech (whose research was funded by Germany, not Operation Warp Speed).
Dan Primack: Pfizer didn’t take Operation Warp Speed money for the development of this vaccine. Just from a fiduciary standpoint, why not? It was kind of free money, or were there major strings attached from your perspective?
Albert Bourla, CEO of Pfizer: There was free money, but always I think that there's never free lunch. When you take money from someone, there are always strings attached. But it was not an easy decision from a fiduciary point of view because the level of investment eventually is approaching or will exceed the $2 billion eventually. But the reason why I did that was because I wanted to liberate our scientists [from] any bureaucracy that comes with having to give reports and agree how we are going to spend the money in parallel or together, etc.

There was a LOT more to Operation Warp Speed than just money. The vaccines were put on streamlined fast tracks for approval. Approvals that usually took five years or more were done in months.

Let's get it all clear and in the open. When you type "Who is responsible for the vaccines we have now ? Trump," what you mean is "He didn't contribute to BioNTech's research and development and he didn't contribute to BioNTech's funding, but he may have fast tracked vaccine approvals that would normally take longer." And you seriously want try to tell us he's responsible?

Trump did not develop the vaccines. Who ever said he did ? He DID see to it that testing and approval of those vaccines was fast tracked.

No, not at all. But you are intentionally misleading people by conflating an alleged small contribution to responsibility:
When you type "Who is responsible for the vaccines we have now ? Trump," what you mean is "He didn't contribute to BioNTech's research and development and he didn't contribute to BioNTech's funding, but he may have fast tracked vaccine approvals that would normally take longer." This is ignoring the facts that Pfizer filed for emergency use authorization and that the approval is done by the FDA, not Trump himself. And it was weeks (late November to mid December) for a process that takes months (not "five years or more").

Yeah. Hard to believe a 26 year veteran couldn't tell the difference between the two. Looks like Involuntary Manslaughter or Criminally Negligent Homicide to me. They just announced she will be charged with Manslaughter 2 which seems about right under all the circumstances. Problem is that more than half of the cops charged who raised the "taser mistake" defense have been acquitted.
Still it is no excuse to riot , burn and loot.

We'll have to see what goes down, but Eric is correct. A 25 year veteran should know better. This was a 20 year old kid, and she had backup there. It takes an idiot to pull your gun when you meant to use your Taser. At the very least she shouldn't be a cop anymore.
