If you are giving yourself two years to get ready I say go for it. Go to gim, keep a good diet, take a pole dance class ( say it's for health or that you lost a bet). Keep a regular job just in case, but why quit without trying? Even if you don't successed you are still ahead in the health department. I wish you good luck :)

BTW, here's what I look like: https://i.imgur.com/RXSHosw.jpg
And this is what I looked like one month into working out: https://i.imgur.com/rqZQcaq.jpg
I used two different pics because of my super oily, almost catatonic-schiz face in the second pic... I think my supplement had something in it that it wasn't supposed to. I stopped using it.
Anyway, how old do my body and my face look? Beyond age 18, I assume that real age doesn't matter for stripping; only apparent age.

I see potential. Did you ever think about shaving all your hair and go try out Jason Statham look? Or do you have baby face without beard? ;-) If you work out at home try P90X program. I also recomend yoga. Strength and muscles are nothing without flexibility.

Yeah, very baby faced. When I posted pics with and without my beard, my FB friends had strong opinions that I should keep it.
I did however trim my torso hair.

I don't have any experience with this. My uninformed opinion is that you should stop out to at least three clubs with male dancers, spend some time reviewing what the dancers are doing and get an idea of the sort of stage act that appeals to the customers there. If you can mimic that, or formulate some substitute that you think is viable, you should be good to go.
As for the "booed off stage" stuff: It's entertainment in public. That sort of thing could happen. You can't get anywhere if you let stage fright stop you.

I have never seen a male on the boards and i am actually more excited about this than i should be.
Welcome.
So a friend of mine joined some male revue and it is something completely different than the stripping i know and i am unsure if what hes doing is how it usually goes but he joined them on his 40th birthday and his age was never asked.
I dont think its as big of a deal as it sometimes can be with females but even for us girls i think as long as you look good youre probably the only person worried about age
That being said, my friend was former a theater performer so he had stage presence and a background in learning choreography and dancing and whatnot. The group he belongs to (previrus) had shows once a month at some nightclub that hosts a bunch of different events but rehearsed once a week for like an hour bc they choreographed some of it.
I dont believe he is able to do private dances just table dances but the money is good.
He did tell me some of the options male strippers have are very dirty and mostly prostitution so if thats not for you i hope you find a good place to work and it works out for you. Dont let age deter you if the number is the only thing holding you back
Also since when is 31 old ? Even for female dancers 31 is a late start but not late enough to be unable to find work.

I'm 31 and male, and I want to be a stripper. It will probably take me 2-3 years to get buff enough to do it, so I'd be starting at around 34.
Am I too old? Someone on the forum suggested that I am. My face does look much younger; most people guess I'm 23-26, but I don't know if that helps much.
Should I quit now; is it a waste of time to pursue this goal?
Not sure how it is for men, but I started at 32 and quit at 46. People I meet to this day still think im in my late 20s/early 30s. I say go for it.

That's encouraging! Thank you.

Thanks for the friendly welcome.
Prostitution... I support its legalization and regulation, but I'd rather be with a woman I love. Though until I find that, if it was legal, I'd be okay with prostitution as long as I was careful about diseases. But with the laws as they are now, I'm not willing to risk prison.
