I need to buy a new pair of sneakers. I've worn my converse shoes straight to where they have ripped the whole way down. I'm too lazy to buy a new pair of shoes since I mostly wear flip flop sandals off work so I just tighten the shoelace in public lol.

^^^You sound like me. I had a pair of very minimalist Nike sneakers that were my absolute favorite and I kept wearing them even after they started falling apart. There were a few times where I sat down and told myself that they were only going to be house shoes from here on out, and that would last for a few months but then something would happen and I'd start wearing them out again. And no I couldn't buy replacements trust me I tried. Finally a few months ago I made myself throw them out because they were officially looking really bad. It still hurts.

I'm not restocking my Calia shampoo / conditioner - forcing myself to wait a bit. I like to stock up on stuff i know I'll use when i start to get low on something, but i could wait to buy these until i get a little closer to needing more.

I WISH I could stock up on stuff, but I have like no storage so unless I want a bunch of shit sitting out I try to just buy for now. Like unless nothing else is available I only buy 4-packs of tp and 2-packs of paper towels. I would love to buy things like sugar and flour and rice in bulk too but again, no room.

I wanted these shoes SO bad a little while ago, black Nikes with a white swoosh are my favorite type of sneaker and purple is my favorite color: https://5.kixify.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/product_full/product/2020/10/18/p_31227106_177482556_8140806.jpg And after debating for a long time(I think really hard before I buy anything that's more than like $25) I was finally about to pull the trigger when I decided to google pics of people actually wearing them and once I did I saw that they would not look right on me. So then I was gonna go with my second choice: https://www.nike.com/t/air-max-270-womens-shoe-Pgb94t/AH6789-006 but I randomly decided one day that I want to start wearing more colors instead of black all day every day and decided to get white sneakers instead(which fortunately the ones I chose were half the price of those Nikes).

^I feel the same way about a lot of wedges. They look bomb in photos when they're just sitting there, but they can look really awkward on people IMO. Like, these look kinda cool to me, but they'd look weird with basically anything i would normally wear. And then you start thinking of other crap to buy that would actually look good with the shoe.... not worth it!

So I ended up in TJ Maxx on Friday. The eyebrow woman was busy so I went to kill time. I spent $80 . They didn't have that much stuff. I got slippers, 2 Essie nail colors, Becca & Revlon foundation, 2 teas blueberry white and Rosehips. I also got my uncle a ball cap. Not bad lol. There is lots of shit I want online plus I have bath & body works coupons but I'm trying to be good.

^^^I haven’t been inside of a B&BW in years. I wish I had one closer so I could get candles. Speaking of B&BW and ‘didn’t buy,’ I saw this candle holder on their website a long time ago and I loved it so much but it doesn’t match my place at all so I never got it:

You should see what I’m wearing now....I’m wearing my really dirty old ripped Uggs that I use as slippers that I wrote about a few pages back, a pair of Nike basketball shorts that I’ve had for possibly over 10 years, and I’m wearing them inside-out so the lining is what’s showing....and there’s a big hole in the ass of the lining. And a t-shirt that my friend gave me a few years ago that has a cat riding a unicorn under a full moon with rainbows. I feel like if no one sees it doesn’t count.

Speaking of fashion though, I’m EXTREMELY particular with my clothes(that I leave the house in), yet there’s two chicks on Instagram who are always in outfits that I would 100% wear top-to-bottom and that basically never happens, and what’s funny is that they’re both Capricorns like me. I guess all the zodiac signs really do have their own styles. Also, no one in my family cares about fashion and is as psycho with their clothes as I am so I never knew where I inherited it from but now that I think about it, I have a lot of my mom’s mom’s jewelry and purses and we seem to have similar tastes, I’ve even worn some of it out. And my mom said she was a perfectionist with her clothes and because she was a seamstress she would make a lot of her own stuff and wouldn’t buy things if they weren’t sewn properly...etc. She was also a Capricorn.

I’m curious what your sign is Charlie because I have observed some fashion patterns, I feel like you like things that are very understated and comfortable but still quality and feminine and another word I can’t come up with that would be similar to ‘rustic’ or ‘earthy’ but I feel like those imply ‘unpolished’ and I think you like polished things.

I'm a virgo! August 24th. I'm really not great with dressing myself, though i hope I'm getting better with age. I identify as more gender neutral than anything, so i pretty much always feel like I'm wearing drag when i dress in a more feminine way (though i enjoy it for that reason). You're right - i do like understated, well-made, uncomplicated... lots of black, but I'm trying to gradually get out of my comfort zone over time. I'd say i feel sexiest in a black tank top and jeans with some nice boots. I really like to play up my healthy skin and figure, and wear my (long, dark brown, curly/wavy) hair in a loose braid. I'm playing around with adding other things in, like, i do enjoy the ring i bought recently.

Today i didn't buy / restock a bunch of Paula's Choice basics, because they're running a 15% off sale (tempting), but i feel like whenever they end the 15% site-wide sales, they almost always have 20% off coupons available for anyone who takes a moment to research. Hoping to find that 20% off after this sale ends, and hoping that the basics i want don't go out of stock during this sale.

^^^My dad is a Virgo, he is not into fashion at all but he definitely has his set vibe. He has dressed the same exact way since forever and wears timeless items, like nothing but the basics that never go away. Unless it’s got a sports team on it he only wears plain, solid-colored clothes and the only time he wears jewelry is like something on a silver thin chain that he never takes off.

I like you tend to dress androgynously and buy a lot of stuff from the men’s department but I’m tryinggggg to dress more girly now. :flirt:

Okay I have more, #1 pretty much EVERYTHING in this store. I love it all but needless to say, not buying anything: https://www.etsy.com/shop/rommydebommy?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=712759886

#2, again speaking of B&BW, I was going to buy these car fragrances, mainly because I want the pretty little cap: https://www.bathandbodyworks.com/p/dahlia-visor-clip-car-fragrance-holder-024643800.html?cgid=car-fragrance#start=43 but I’m like, is it really necessary? I could understand wanting your car scented if you were an Uber driver or something, but I never have people in my car. And any time I get in my car I am wearing perfume so that’s what me and my car is gonna smell like. So like yeah it’s pretty but I have a ton of pretty stuff.

Today I didn't buy anything from amazon or ulta.
So far as Ulta, it's my kryptonite. I spend way too much there and have come to the conclusion that it needs to stop. making myself wait until the rest of my bday gift cards roll in before buying anything and won't be spending more than the gift cards amount to no matter what.
Then there's amazon...
I've put myself in time out after seeing how much is spent there on average monthly. I'm not going to buy anything on there for the next 7 days, make a list of things that i actually need throughout the week, put a cap on what I'm allowed to spend monthly on amazon, & get rid of or return things that I know for sure I don't/can't use (defective robo vacuum, I'm looking at you).

I love B&BW but usually I just wait for their big sales to stock up. I love their body creams BC the are paraben-free, unlike their lotions.

I didn't buy these cute tops from Venus. I want to tone up my arms first, so my money will be going to a set of 8 lbs dumbbells instead. Maybe when my arms are toned up I will reward myself with these tops.

Still haven't spent a penny on amazon but i did get two ulta gift cards and went on a shopping spree with them. Didn't spend any of my own $ (still have some money on the gift cards left over even). Proud of myself for resisting amazon, but I could have held onto the gift cards for a little longer. (sigh)

I'm that way with gift cards, too...i spend them immediately instead of thinking about what to buy. I feel bad when i do that! And money doesn't stretch as far as it used to...$100-$200 at a beauty store goes pretty quickly.

My biggest mistake with gift cards is that i tend to buy stuff that i would've bought for myself anyway. I think they're more fun when you use them to buy a high-ticket item that you wouldn't have gotten without the gift card, even if it means spending a bit of your own money to make up the difference. Idk though, i can make an argument for doing it both ways, haha.

A waffle maker. To be honest, I don’t know if I’d actually make waffles if I had one. I tell myself I would, I tell myself I’m all about waffles. Yet, on those rare occasions when I dine out for breakfast, I never order waffles. I’ve been deceiving myself this whole time. I really don’t give a shit about waffles. Well, I kinda think I do, but my actions say I really don’t. Maybe waffles aren’t even real. Perhaps they’re just some mundane creation of the grand hallucination.

I didn’t buy the waffle maker, anyhow.

I did buy a panini press maybe two years ago, and I use that without any particular desire for paninis. Maybe actually having a waffle maker would be my call to action, and I’d actually make waffles.

Maybe not, though. I don’t know. I have other priorities.

Yay, waiting paid off! Their 15% off sale ended, and i was able to find a 20% off code instead. Today i didn't buy a bicycle. I started obsessing over bicycles, researching hybrid options, thinking about biking as the weather gets nicer, etc. Had one in my cart, discount code applied, all of that. But didn't go through with it. I already have a bike, albeit an old one that doesn't have any features on it. And i don't bike often enough to justify buying a new one. If i really get back into it, then maybe I'll upgrade. But for now, it'd be so silly to spend that much money on something that i might only use a few times a year. Rolling my eyes at myself right now...

I totally agree!! My old bike only has foot brakes, because that's what i preferred at the time, and it's a single speed / gear / whatever that's called. My partner suggested that i could take the current frame and update it with components that i want, but I'm not about that life, lol. I don't have a single DIY bone in my body for that kind of stuff!

Since we're already on the topic of bikes, I have been wanting to get a bike trainer stand to turn my mountain bike into an indoor bike until it's nice enough to go riding outside. I bought a baby bike seat last summer but baby was too small and didn't have enough head and neck control to ride back then. This summer she will be old enough. I need to get back to riding. I've not rode my bike since I was 5 months pregnant.

I didn’t buy it so much as I did forgive a debt. When the Amish girl needed a car, we went and found a reasonably priced one that would be good for her. Little Honda CR-V.
