The way you learn is my fav way too! This way you learn only the things you want! I remember how disappointed I was when I asked one of professors in my uni about a certain topic and she told it was not in the program, so all I could do was learning it by myself.
I did not know it about Harvard! I'll check out, love free education too ;D
btw, what's student debt? It's possible to study for free in my area - if you get enough scores. I know nothing about american educational system.
I think it's damn crime to make people pay for that lol
when most americans finish college we can owe anywhere from $20,000 to $100,000+ (to be a doctor or phd programs at to schools) depending on how long we are in school and what we study. my debt was around $20k range just for my 4 year degree. however my school cost was around $35k a year. for 4 years. i received some scholarships , but yes school should be free. America is not like europe. I know it can be shocking to hear!
some of my friends make $80k a year after college, but they will be paying their student loans for many years. it will impact their life for many years of debt.

This thread is great, some golden advice in here - definitely one I'll be bookmarking for future reference. I think it's interesting how much of a mental shift can happen in this line of work. It has been a very long time since I have had to deal with any rude, demanding pricks..and this isn't just because I am a domme (something I transitioned to over a couple of years). It's for a number of reasons, I think. Largely, that I just do no tolerate crap. I don't work free chat (it doesn't work for *me* personally) and I simply no longer tolerate a certain kind of customer - I just block and move on. Since changing my approach to this job, and pursuing things I really like, my income has climbed and climbed. What I made back when I was 26 is a pittance compared to what I do now and I'm thriving. I think another factor for me was embracing this as a career choice and taking pride in it. This is not necessarily the case for everyone, but for me, it was a game changer. I love seeing my skills improve, my income build and the quality of my clientele increase. It's rewarding seeing my hard work recognised, much as it would be with any other job, I suppose.
I am into my 30s now and meeting goals I could have never imagined when I started in 2014. I have, in large part, this forum to thank for that as it taught me that the sky really is the limit in this profession. As for my future? I would like to continue working in camming/phone/content for *at least* another ten years. I am bilingual and bright but to be honest, my degree was pretty useless. I plan to move into sex therapy at some point, and this is something I am training in now. Having said all of this, it's always good to diversity and learn new skills which you can implement if needed! The pandemic was hugely lucrative for me in this field, and I am grateful for that, but it wasn't the case for other professions. Have your fingers in lots of pies, there's no need to commit to one career for life (unless you want to). Personally, that sounds dull to me, I love doing different things and having multiple streams of income. If I could have gone back and studied something more practical, I think I would have. And I certainly wish I'd taken this job more seriously to begin with. My degree and hours up late essay-writing didn't give me my dream house, camming did. Like any job, it can be a drag some days, but for me, it's worth it, every damn day.
Good luck wherever the future takes you.:goodvibes
This video is great, someone posted it on Twitter today. Think of that when the wankwaffles start negging!

Maybe I am late to this thread but I am going to add my two cents about this post. Everyone already talked about age in this industry but I want to highlight educational and income parts of this thread. Frankly, I am sick of the whole "adult industry professionals don't have employable skills and education to stop work in this industry."myth. That's not true for all of us. For example, I am here for my financial goals not because I can't do nothing else. Frankly, I am here because there's no salary cap. This industry offers some of the best passive income ever..
Also, working in the corporate world is also about selling one's self. Many high power professionals sell themselves as do influencers, entertainers, and bankers. Because of the almighty dollar and the high pressure lifestyle many want to achieve. They do things against their ethics and morals all the time. That's apart of capitalism overall.
Personally, I wouldn't cry over getting a man if I was you since 90 percent of the global population of men can't support their families anyways. No need to bow down or put on an pedestal...some one who can't make life better for you anyways. Frankly, lower level men are the reason so much poverty is in this world. They don't pay us as much as they pay their lackies, most of them have piss poor jobs, and spend their money on garbage instead their families. Or just out right abandoning women and their children leaving severe poverty in their wake. At least, sex work can provide an great life for anyone who has been burned by the global system of unequal wealth.
Moreover, unless you are marrying within globally elite or royal families. Sex work has little importance to your relationship prospects. Because there's always an relationship build on love and loyalty out there. Just food for thought.
I am entirely with you on that! Some people genuinely do think they will cam forever.. But what about when they get too old to do it? Not to sound fickle or shallow, but men generally want to watch (and pay well for) younger women, I know that.
What if you meet a man who you really love, and is understandably not okay with you selling your body. What then? What do you do to earn good money after that if you have no qualifications and have done nothing but cam work for years?
I am back in college too, and I currently have a good career path planned... This camming is now just a means to an end and I can not wait for it to be over!!

This is funny cause there is a local twitch streamer that said the exact same thing. He called a delivery service and said he is video chatting (to leave the delivery at the door as he cannot answer). This usually means beeing a cam girl doing sex work in our country (this is what is mostly used for). His followers were laughing and he was like: why are you laughing? cause in both cases we do the same thing, there is no diffrence between me and them (girls that do online sex work lol).Pretty cool dude.
This is what they do not understand, we could do so many other things but we CHOOSE to do this for diffrent advantages. Most people say online sex work is easy money and have the poor judgement that we are freaking stupid with no education. They have no idea how many skills and how freaking smart you have to be (in diffrent areas) in order to be good as an online sex worker. It is HARD WORK. Ugh.

Hey. I've been camming on AW and Streamate for a short time now and it's going ok so far.
The reason I started camming was that after not being able to study for various reasons when I was younger, I finally decided on going to Uni now :):). It was proving impossible to get a part time job around uni and other commitments, I need totally flexible hours and no where would offer that.
I'm nearly 40 and ideally I'll still be camming for years to come, but this week I've really been worrying (maybe overthinking lol) - will I get hardly any money camming as I get older..
I'm an over worrier for sure.
Are there any other older cammers out there been doing this longer than me can offer any advice??

There are plenty of older cammers that are doing well!
I am going to be 43 next month ( I know that isn't much older)
There are some posts on this thread of older cammers that might ease your mind. https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?231565-Your-future

A skilled older woman can really get into a man's mind. Youth isn't really the key factor to pull in the bucks on cam.
Also, should you decide later you are tired of camming you can always transition to phone sex. It's far from dead, can be super lucrative.

I will always be a PSO but as far as camming, it is draining for me as my health is in the trash. Just to get dressed to be on here, is painful and exhausting. But I do it, for now. I was going to open my own subscription box business but decided I needed a better plan as the thought of having to change monthly inventory, house product, stress over shipments, etc would not really make me feel free and give me more freedom. I recently joined a company where I can just sell as I had planned and potentially retire from it in five years. Again, I'd still do PSO till the day I die cause its from my comfy couch and/or bed but I personally need an out of depending on secluding myself from life around me and sitting in front of a cam. I'm not a top model, I dont use toys, I'm not gorgeous so this isnt going to be a money maker for me and I recognize that. I wish it was though cause even though I said all that, I enjoy the no income cap. I just wish I could be a part of that and make that bank. I sure hope all that made sense but I do want more freedom to take care of my health, sleep and take my dog places.

I've been considering this since starting 3 years ago....I have a plan in place to cam until I'm 47 and I'm currently 29 so...18 more years but then retire. Basically I'm using as much time as I can to earn and chucking it all into savings and investments. It's more planned out than that lol but yeah thats the plan.
I hope everyone has the best of success in their journeys whether you're camming or otherwise!
Im browsing all camsites today, thinking about the future.. So many new girls seems to joining camsites last few years...There are basically 4 really good months from whole year.. What if there will be so many girls, that it will not be profitable anymore? With all kind of crisis,im worried..Im not even sure about this winter ..Will be pattern repeated like previous years?Or post covid situation will affect our earnings? With so much competition it is getting really difficult to earn more then 100 dollars with splitcam.Sure, some days are better...But...Showing our bodies to all world should be paid better. I dont want to complain,im still thankful for this job, im just worried , i will not be able to fill my dreams soon enough.Maybe i was unlucky and everything will go down..I dont know... Do you think guys honestly, that camming will still rocks?

It's the reason camming will always rocks. Unfortunately, many models (including me) want to cam for 4 hours and if nothing happens, it means it sucks. In 10 years of camming, i did try all the ways possible. Yes, I get lucky sometimes, to make a good amount in 4 hours (for example today), but this is not the norm. The norm is to stream at least 8 hours, daily. And when I say 8 hours, I mean 10 HOURS with breaks. 8 hours is pure camming. Fixed schedule. Basically a sexy 9 to 5. Sorry to ruin this for you, haha!!! There are money to be made, but you gotta trade your time in exchange of it. The good thing is that, in this job, you can sacrifice a year or two and work super hard, then take a few months break, then come back and work hard. You always make money if you put the work in.

many of them quit in the first day.
and many of them are doing this because they can't escort but as soon as the pandemic is over and things are "normal" they will back at taking bookings.
Not everyone will do this for a full-time life time career, many will quit, many will listen to a stupid boyfriend, some will take what their parents say too seriously.

Yeah, you are right and i agree with you. When you want big goals, you have to work extra hard. I never was so ambitious,i wanted to make a bit above average. It is difficult to be so focused, motivated 365 days in a year. Im the person, who naturally feeling a bit angry and reactive when things are not go well,so i feel ashamed, that i cannot look like buddha - calm on cam/day by day. And when im patient, that endless boredom seems to affect the vibe of the room,so there can be days/weeks without good tips. And how to not have a doubts about myself then.? I hope, you are right and there will be always way to earn good money in the future. And thanks for link on thread.:)
Yes Minnie, i wish to see also big numbers of girls, who can retire from camming, it would be good sign for all of us. What i see all the time are new faces and it scares me. But you are right, not all girls are patient enough to keep camming for years. I just hope, winter will be ok for all of us,even for those, who are not on cam 10 hours a day. Sending good vibes your way girls. Thank you for responses.

We ALL go trough that, you are not alone. Even those super succesful ones have real bad days. The more you wrap your head around this, the better will be for you. We are ALL bored and we rather do something else than entertain empty rooms but... it is what it is. This is the job. The more we get okay with the downsides, the easier it is to push trough. I feel insecure too, when things are going wrong too. It's part of the job. Just learn to recognize when you feel down. Take a break, relax, refresh your makeup and hair, maybe change outfit, listen to some music with lyrics that are making you feel hot/seductive, etc and come back on cam.
Read the whole "stay the fuck on" thread, you will see that we all post the same thing that you say. This is our life, an emotional roller coaster. The more you realize you're not alone, the more it will help you relax and just do your best :))

WHAT? You are way over thinking everything. You act like there is a limited amount of horny men in this world. Camming has been a growth business for the past 20 to 25 years with no site of slowing down. If anything mainstream is copying us but keeping it all pg with youtube, instagram & now even Amazon has live shows. So where are you getting all this information of doom & gloom for our industry?
It has yet to hit it's peak. Too many girls? huh, well I want to be on the sites with the most girls on it.. because it will have the most men paying to see them. I met gals like you when I used to be a stripper & they preferred working at a small hole in the ground club, because they thought less competition. When the real money is in the big clubs with lots & lots of gals working, cause it had lots & lots more customers.
Honestly, that kind of thinking will cut your money & this all becomes a self fullfilling prophecy. When CB has 20 performers pulling in a million a year, and is a site with huge traffic numbers. CB is #56 global ranking in traffic. Where is your sources of information that predicts all this doom?
When over the past 20 years of camming I have seen performers get bigger cuts of the percentages. Seen chargebacks pretty much become past history. Seen it go from about 5 cam sites to what now 20 of them. More & more sites and ways for us to earn money & even differents ways to earn more money on each site. I have seen so many performers thrive & more & more of them make a fortune. There is great money to be made in camming. The ones who make the most are also the ones who work social media very well & pull in there own traffic.
Also when in history has men ever gotten tired of looking at nude or half naked women? And how many men in the world is there?
And if you are fun, a hustler, got game, half way good looking... the world of camming is a way to great income. Now, I don't split cam, because I find it divides my attention. I make way more when concentrating on just one site at a time & also love figuring out what it takes to be at the top of the first page of a cam site. I will say, there are times when we all have to adjust our hustle and or attitude to get to the next level in this biz. Perhaps it is time for you to reaccess how you cam, your hustle or look. Even minor adjustments can make a huge difference.
This part --"Also when in history has men ever gotten tired of looking at nude or half naked women? And how many men in the world is there?"-- Absolutly truth =D
I agree, im having probably hard times for too long,so i started to feel like "i missed the train" and camming will not be like before - for me. It is good to hear experiences of those, who are in this industry for a long time.It shows different perspective.
Thank you

This work can be isolating & then negative thinking takes over. We have to look at the success of others not out of jealousy but to know what is possible & dream bigger. Which leads to us mixing up our game a bit to make even more money. There is a tendency to limit ourselves, but there is no income limit in this industry which is why is is a sales commission based job.
If these companies could pay us hourly & make the bulk of the money, they would. Then there would be no incentive for us to hustle or be sales people. Not everyone is good at sales, while some come by it naturally. Many of us have to learn sales, how to hustle & to keep tweaking it. You have to find ways to keep it fresh for yourself. And since it is October you can do that with costumes & themes, some will hit & some will be a miss. But it will help you become a better entertainer & sales person.
Half of my traffic comes from type in and the other half from social media, mostly twitter. We have to be on top of technology & promote ourselves on several social media platforms. It is good to create your own sources of traffic which you can point to your money making endeavors. There are plenty of youtube tutorials on selfies, how to gain followers on each of them and such. I watch several a month & test it out. Then there are all kinds of apps for photo editing & such to help up your game. Then I watch vids on lighting & how the gamers fix up their rooms & equipment.
When it is slow on cam a couple of post on different social media sites can change that around for me immediately. I have spent many of hours & years working on my social media following. It makes a great difference in my income.
We have to reinvest time to learn & buy new equipment on a regular bases. Which helps inspire me. A decent portion of my cam customers check my room just to see how I have decorated it, all the year & just not at Halloween. Which is apart of mixing it up & keeping it fresh for me & them. The investment of time to watch tutorials on Youtube, cost me nothing. Now, I invest $100 to $300 on equipment & props every month. It always pays off for me.

Can't wait til I join the 50 club! I actually feel better and more whorgeous the older I get. I truly feel we become the best version of ourselves the older we get. Some things just can't be taught, they can only come with age.
