Nope. Nevermind. The elevator is out of service in my building and I'm not carrying my bike up and down 9 flights of stairs every day to go to the gym. I'm still jogging outdoors until it's fixed.
Just for reference I started by taking walks outdoors. When the gyms reopened I went every day for about 6 weeks but I found it frustrating because my fitness level was way off from what it was before lockdowns started, and I didn't know what to do. I kept trying new things and making no progress. Also, I think when you're out of the habit of daily exercise it's not a fun habit to get into.
So I decided to start from scratch. First I just committed to getting some fresh air by walking around outside every morning and listening to audiobooks. Eventually my walking time increased and I was covering 6 miles without effort. This was taking about 1 1/2 hours, so I decided to start jog/walking instead, which eventually became jogging, and now I feel ready to start back in the gym again. I would like to build a firm body with noticeable muscle tone over the next year, and when the weather is nice keep doing my morning walks, but only 30-40 minutes.

Didn't work out today, goal is to do it tomorrow before work again and if weather permits take my dog to the park early too.

^^Okay well that was a no-go. Randomly ended up waking up 2 hours later than normal and it had rained, so I couldn't take my dog to the park because it was muddy. Also then ended up with a horrible headache due to using a different perfume so I ended up not working out either.

I mainly do a combo of weight training and reformers pilates. Plus some calisthenics, gymnastics drills and flexibility training.
Remember if your only goal is to be skinny, rather than setting performance related goals, you are unlikely to maintain.
Find something you actually enjoy. By working on your physical body in the right ways, it changes your whole attitude (if you are always in pain/stiff/inflexible, how can you have a positive attitude)
I see my body as a functional thing which I want to feel good in and move well. I do things which give me maximum gains for time spent. Not hours of cardio, which doesn't give you a great physique and doesn't strengthen your whole body, though I do cycle now and then, plus lots of walking.
Not a massive fan of yoga as it is taught 97% of the time (very poor understanding of anatomy/cues and too much stretching without strengthening, no 'pull' element, mainly 'push'/not enough posterior chain elements)
As with anything, not necessarily what you do but the way that you do it. Whatever you enjoy, get your body to be good at it and cross train to improve. Then you will be consistant.

Being so busy with camming and everything else, I just lost my patience. So I renewed my beachbody subscription and I am starting Insanity again. It was the only program that made me a fit bitch in just 3 weeks. This time I am going to finish the whole 6 weeks program.
I am starting next week and I can't wait, even tho I am terrified, lol. I haven't done intense hiit for years. Nevermind, I can do this.

I did a quick walk around my apartment complex today it's quite big and has lots of outdoor space. I want to go to the gym tomorrow. I don't know how to access it without going through office yet lol.

I had nice 4 times a week training, with weights and bands (bands rule!) Akso i love the exercises with body weight, i.e. planks etc. The best ways to train a core for me were breakdance freezes. I love stretching, flexibility training and managed to be able to do all ways of splits. It took about a year but so worthy!
But lately, 2 weeks already I have no fucking time and it sucks, because workouts help me so much to feel great.
Argh, it's frustrating, my body addicted to it, and now every time I wake up my back hurts :(
I need to somehow manage to stick them in between other errands, damn. The lack of physical activity really feels.
Also the bad thing that I'm alone in it. My friends are not supportive, though they admit it's good for a body. I don't care about opinions when I want and like something, but I hate it when people have some strainge need to say shitty things. 'oh you do it again? pfft, so stupid.'
oh fuck off lol. Why people do it - it brings them and me a bad mood. I don't make them work out and never mention it, but they notice, because I become very active and happy after training.
ok, end rant,sorry ;D

Keep in mind I’m tall at 5’8 but still got a few lbs to go. :)
I didn’t go down in last 3-4 weeks but also didn’t go up ha.
My goal from about 2 years ago was 165.

^ The bikes are magic . :)
Really. You can be on your phone to make the time fly.
I talk to customers at my day job via email and text also when I'm on the bike as the back and forth communication annoys me less when I'm doubling it up with getting a work out.

I did a work out today in gym. Saw busy in the mirror ugh. I did not go in the cycle room there was some hardcore people in there and I was hungry. I'm so unfit but I really like the stuff they have here so I'm confident I can get in shape.

I have a Cardioglide that I bought many years ago. It was sitting around collecting dust, but I recently started to use it again. I'll go on it while I'm watching TV. I like it because I can exercise my arms and legs at the same time. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore, but this is very similar:

So I went to the gym today and tried the cycle room. They have a tv with lots of different workout. I tried to do a cycle one it was hard lol. The seat hurt my ass too. I did a bit of some cardio workout. I also did treadmill. I'm going to slowly build up. They have yoga and Pilates videos I want to do. I also walked the long way to gym all around my apartment as it is a beautiful day.

Finished a 5hr shift at 5am and was due to meet a friend for brunch at 10:30. Instead of taking the car we did a 6k walk to a beach bar, enjoyed some coffee and food then turned around and power walked back. I always nap Sunday afternoon to recover from the weekend working but today I feel like I deserve the rest.
Although I've seen my body shape changing now I've had my trainer for a while, it's only now I make a point of at least 10km walk twice a week that I'm beginning to see the scales change.

I'm back into lifting, hardcore! I know it's cheesy, but I've been using Instagram reels to stay motivated - they have some great ones on the gym tag.
What's kind of funny is that i naturally have really low body fat (which isn't to say that i don't have problem areas - i definitely do), so i look super ripped at the gym, but I'm lifting like 5-15 lbs, lol! Veins bulging, visible striations, muscles popping, but I'm weak as fuck haha. I do put on strength super quickly. I think it's because i was so active growing up - gymnastics, ballet, soccer, track, everything.
Anyway, feels good to be back into it.

So, I tried to do some easy low impact cardio in the past week and turned out I won't be able to get back to the Insanity workout, so I ordered some supplements. Some fat burner and a pre workout. Gonna have them delivered today or tomorow and they are supposed to help me get trough 45 minutes of HIIT hell, 6 days a week :)))
Edit: Did day 1 of Insanity Workout Program, which was the Fit Test. I did ok, but I need to note two things:
1. Can't wait to get my supplements, because I barely made it trough without it
2. I need to get my puzzle mat in here, because so many jumps on hard floors, even with carpet on, will ruin my knees and shins.
Other than that, I am confident I will complete the whole 60 days program. Yay!

Everyone seems to be doing so good !
Nice ! :)
Amber : I am really impressed your walk twice a week in addition to other things you are doing ! That is something I could add also . The weather is perfect and my dog would be thrilled if we did.
Charlie : I LOVE seeing defined bodies on women where you know they have put in time with weights. So much of what I do is done with my phone in my hands ha but maybe I need to cut my biking time a little to add some other things.
One thing I'd like to make in the upcoming week is doing at least one day of Yoga. I got into my groove of always doing gym ( with phone distraction ) at Noon and it's been harder to find afternoon classes. I tend to want my work out done by 3:30 at the latest so I'm looking at day time yoga options again which are not easy to find.

This car life stuff is getting me up and at em early. I think I ran 5x on the beach this past week. It feels so good afterwards. I like the endorphins and the stress relief. It keeps me calmer. I need to dig my weights out of storage so I can lift weights by the bay where people work out. Having a workout routine makes life feel more normal and grounded.

Right!! Most people forget that the majority of calories burned are NOT burned during exercise. They're burned when you're just sitting around. Gotta build metabolically active tissue (muscle) to work hard for you while you aren't doing anything at all! Work smarter, not harder, right? :)

I've been kind of plodding along, I see some improvements but am really only doing just enough to maintain that at the moment. I need to add another session in soon as well as try not to slip into overeating so often.

I did it! Felt good. 40 min cardio, 30 min stretching (still looking for the perfect stretching video). Just need to keep this momentum going. Or maybe commit to a schedule. Schedules are hard, because sometimes you just really don't feel like going. But then if you don't go, you stop going. Sigh.
have you watched yoga with adrienne on youtube? this may be my personal preference, but her "yoga for text neck" video is my perfect stretching video. it mainly focuses on the spine, neck and shoulders, but it makes my spine feel longer when im done, which makes it easier to do other stretching.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUP_YdYyfQw&ab_channel=YogaWithAdriene
additionally, my goals are to start using my "fat secret" app again to start recording my caloric intake. im also focusing on drinking more water each day, and getting 250 minutes of cardio per week. be it by hula hoop dancing, hiking, or walking.

Yesterday did Insanity Day 2. Managed to pull trough, thanks to the pre- workout, but it gave me a good shaky hands and racing heart. The thing is that this program gives this anyway, so I will continue taking the pre workout.
I am confident I can get trough the whole 60 days program, uh!!!
BTW I am sore as fuck.

Might be worth trying the non-stimulating pre-workout options out there. The stim options have enough caffeine to kill a gorilla.

Thanks! I thought the one I am using is stimulant free, but I was a little wrong :)) https://www.iherb.com/pr/evlution-nutrition-engn-shred-pre-workout-engine-shred-blue-raz-8-1-oz-231-g/73454 (It's the fat burner/ appetite surpressant one that is stim free: https://www.iherb.com/pr/evlution-nutrition-leanmode-150-veggie-capsules/72004) I guess I will lower the dose. Half of scoop instead of one. It's a great pre workout, but I swear I feel like the Air Force One, ready to take off the ground, when this shit starts kicking in and almost an hour after the workout is done :)))

Day 3 of Insanity is done. If yesterday I was complaining about being sore, today is worse. I feel like I am a stone, moving like a robot :))) Good thing is that this will go by the end of week 2. That's the ugly part of this workout program.
I need to start being a sensitive chicken and use my foam roller. It hurts like shit, but I gotta force myself start using it regularly and in a full session, because I could feel the benefits of muscle relief right after I tried it for a few seconds.
I would usually take some ibupropfen, but I am already taking some fat burning pills, a pre- workout supplement and my BC Pill and I think it's enough pills for the day.
I can't be thankful enough for my thick workout puzzle mat, it really helped my knees and joints. I'd even go further and find some karate type of workout mat :))) I remember how I fucked my knees and joints when I did this program last time, right on the hard floors/ rug. Even with shoes on, still hard for my shins.
I also fucked my knee for good, in 2019, in a mountain hike, I had a 5 hours steep descending trough a forest, that destroyed my left knee, I feel pain in it even from sitting at the desk. And doing any kind of cardio/ hiit without a thick mat is not an option for me anymore, for the rest of my life.

I went to the gym and worked out today and I realised how much I love to be able to work out at home without the interference from others..
True, I have been working out from home for 7 years. I was really struggling to get my ass to gym before, I couldn't stand having people huffing, puffing, sweating around me, touching everything after someone else's sweaty hands, sitting where someone else's sweaty ass did sit :))) Plus the commute. It was only 15 minutes, but it was taking up to one hour to get ready, dress, etc. Now it takes me 10 minutes to put my workout bra and my shoes on and not having to shower before working out, I save the shower for after :)) There's so much comfort about working out at home, I can't even describe haha!
I was happy to find out about the variety of home workout programs, subscription sites and everything. And I get same results like gym. I'd like a treadmill and a spinning bike tho, but waiting to build my house at the country side and i will finally have a dedicated gym room. I can't wait!
The only con about this, is that it's needed some discipline, because it's easy to skip the workouts and I have been there many times. Now that I rented a separate apartament for camming, I also workout in here and I am not leaving home without doing my workout. I helped me enormously, than working out in the living room, where it's easy to just sit on the couch.

^LOL I agree. I actually nearly got into a fight with some unhinged little girl at the gym last week - I really only like to go when its very quiet there.
Sometimes I do mini circuits at home, I will use makeshift weights (10kg bag of rice inside a backpack) and do intervals up and down the stairs to my flat, that kind of thing.

^I like my hot yoga classes for the escapism, or just being outdoors walking. I find the gym quite dull. I go to a no-frills gym though, theres no pool/steam area or anything that would make me want to spend longer than 90 mins absolute max there!

I go to the fitness center late at night, when there is usually no one else there. Before the pandemic, I didn't mind working out around other people, but now with this virus spreading around, I prefer to workout alone. Even though I've been vaccinated, I would prefer to not get the virus at all.
There's a lot you can do on your own at home. Jumping rope is very inexpensive, and gives a great cardio workout. Also, burpees are great strength training. There's also a lot on YouTube.
