Ohhh @DeathAndTaxes, I love your home gym!!!
My home gym is a puzzle mat and some dummbells, I can't wait to have more space for a proper one, uhh!

Diet started today. My sugar cravings vanished so I have been actually eating really healthy, but I guess I have to eat less. :grumpy:
I noticed a little improvement as of yesterday.

Yeah it helps me a lot motivation wise, I do mostly strength training so low reps heavy weights , and always increasing the load (even if just a bit), alternating upper body and leg day, every single day.
Going to the Gym every day for just 15 mins (I do 48 reps daily at most) is just annoying so built my own.

I need to put my home gym back together (cries in moving frustration) but once I do I think having more room will help me get to my goal quicker. I need to cancel my PF membership..haven't gone once.

I have two gyms up north.
One is close to where I’m staying .
One is in the urban core but has a couple extra amenities ( huge pool ).

I am trying so hard to get back into fitness after a year of the blahs. I have access to an excellent gym (and a hot tub to soak in as a reward) but my motivation is so low. I have been working out but kinda just doing the bare minimum. Hopefully I can gain some momentum soon

I find cardio really hard to stay motivated with in the long run... have you tried lifting, and using a simple app like Strong (it's free) to build a workout and track progress? It's so satisfying to get those gains, and muscle boosts metabolism.

^I've always been intimidated by lifting, but I still want to give it a shot. I tried getting back into Pilates today and it has me a bit more motivated.
Thank you for the recommendations. I will look into the strong app tonight.

Yes!! And if an app is too intimidating at this point, then drop that idea. You can look up "shy girl lifting" workouts on YouTube or even Instagram to get some ideas and get started. It doesn't need to be serious! Grab some dumbells and go do your thing in a more private part of the gym if available. Or just play around on the machines, hard to go wrong with machines since they control your movements.
Try to just have fun with it and challenge those li'l muscles! ♡
Group classes are a great way to stay motivated if you can afford them, re: pilates. Excited for you!!

Do you have any friends you can work out with? Sometimes it helps if you have another person to help motivate you. Also, if you can afford it, a personal trainer would be helpful, especially if you want to try something new, like lifting weights.

So since it's been raining around here and I can't do my outdoor workouts, I've been going to the gym to lift weights and afterwards I always feel so swollen and bloated. This is not the look I am going for.

I cheated on my fancy gym with a planet fitness.
This place is just FINE. I think they must have awful branding / marketing.
I always thought of it as " the gym no one wants " lol until I went in !
I'm impressed . I'm going to pause my other membership I think ( it's $100 a month ).
PF was only $50 to sign up and I paid $10 for this basic membership .
If you do $25 a month you can tan AND use the massage chairs so I'm upgrading to that one soon.

Since I feel guilty for having an indoor spinning bike and not using it, I have discovered this youtuber that offers free programs, so I will probably jump into it.

She has a couple of playlists for beginners, this one being the very beginner one.
She also has 30-45 min workouts, but I am not crazy to do that, I will take it slowly.

I love planet fitness! Seriously, their machines are the same ones I've used at the other clubs I belong to. The only thing is that they don't have classes, but that's not really a big deal for me. I love their Beauty Angel machine and their hydro massage chairs after a workout. Plus I get to charge my mobile devices and shower there too.

I want to join a gym, haven't even set foot in one in like over a decade. It has nothing to do with the New Year (not that there's anything wrong with that, people who bash the New Years resolutioners suck) I love working out at home but with barbell exercises, which is what I primarily do, you can only get so close to failure which for my goals isn't close enough. I could really use some access to some machines. There's a ton nearby but one in particular that I want to check out some time this month.

Well I made it to the gym today and got through another workout and I'm proud of myself because I really didn't want to go in the first place. Wish it would stop raining because I'd like to go on a beach or a forest run. I'd rather do cardio out in nature.

I'm having a hard time staying on track with this cold weather.
It just seems like SO MUCH to pack up for the gym. I guess I just need to pre-pack clothing and shower stuff and just have it ready .

I felt tired and couldn't do a proper workout, thanks to period, but I loved doing this workout. It was challenging enough, altough I could have used heavier weights to be super sore today, lol. I had it playing on my phone (on a small tripod), with captions on, because I was watching a tv show in parralel ;D;D

I'm thrilled to have my schedule worked out in the next few days for gym each day around 10:30 or 11 .
It threw me off SO much getting up early last week 4-5 days. This week only one early morning threw me off.

I'm glad I joined planet fitness.
Biked yesterday, did arm weights, did massage chair, tanned 6 min. !
Often when my day job customer are going haywire ( there are two that area ha ) I just need my phone in my hands the whole time 9-5 so biking is 80% of what I do in those times.
I just looked at the fancy gyms google listing ( I was getting the number to see if their jacuzzi was FINALLY working ) and they are not even open on a Sunday afternoon ! Ok ...... I figure that is a PEAK work out time but whatever. Lol.

The video is a live recording, so she probably used something smaller than she usually uses, so she can also talk without huffing and puffing. But I think she used 8 lb dummbells tho, that's what she mentioned. Anyway, you can use any kind of weights you want, to increase the difficulty!
