I'm shopping for a vehicle. Taking my time & being smart. This means I use Uber for rides. I only take them maybe once a week, but it's truly a blessing to have access to a ride.
Yesterday an Uber driver shared, after I said "you must really rely on tips now that gas prices have shot up": "actually, it's just nice to get them...like a cherry on top."
I'm sure desperation would not only sound bad, but look bad. I get it.
He went on to say for a $50 ride he got $5 and was grateful. Ummm, that's not even 20%! He was on time, polite, car clean, friendly, drove safe & gave off a good vibe.
My ride was $8.79
I gave him a $5 tip.
Every little bit helps.

Was feeling some anxiety. Meditated & still felt anxiety which is weird: I've blown past weekly goal in less than 10 hrs streamed. I was on Facebook when I ran across a post about a young abuse victim who is under care now that is provided by Love Without Boundaries.
Looked into the nonprofit & was moved to help even just a little. Made a donation. Anxiety gone. Super sobering: my problems are minimal compared to others.

That is mind blowing Sha! Giving to someone in need does have a way of alleviating our own anxiety.
I have been noticing that people are smiling and talking to each other more than before and during the pandemic. It used to be a rare thing. It's so uplifting to see.

I asked a Barista today if she wanted anything to eat because I'd pay for her.
She said no one has ever offered her. She thanked me but not wanting anything.

I left a compliment for my local Wendy's staff through their ap's feedback feature. I also stopped myself from going Karen-mode when I was there which I think counts as an act of kindness.... What happened was I was going to go through their drive thru but the line was crazy so I was like 'F that,' I pulled into a space, and since their lobby was open for another 45 minutes I placed an online order that I could just walk in and pick up at the counter. When it was time to walk in and pick it up, the lobby was closed. I was hella annoyed and called them about it, because I wanted to know how I was supposed to get my shit, and they told me that there was only 3 of them working because they were understaffed which is why they had to close the lobby and that I had to go through the drive through to get my stuff. I could feel myself getting really annoyed and was about to be like 'One of ya'll can't just come bring it to me???' but in my head I snapped myself back to reality was like 'There are labor shortages, this man does not have time to be talking to you, you better put a fucking smile on your face and be polite.' This is literally my inner dialogue LOL. So yeah I left a compliment about how polite and efficient they were especially being as understaffed as they were, and they did have the drive-thru moving quick. Fuck now I want Wendy's again. I hadn't had them in a long time and it was good.

I stopped at Denny's because I didn't feel like cooking. The nice waitress got a 50% tip.
It was only me and one other customer. She was very gracious. I'm for sure going back soon. I will give her 100% tip next time.

Yeeeeeeees, sis! I like to tip a lot more when I go to places like Denny's where the food aren't expensive. If they're helpful I feel better tipping 50-100%.

It makes me sad when I see how senior citizens are treated in this country. A lot of times they are thrown out to pasture with no help or support. I hope it doesn't happen but I'm really scared that the elderly are becoming the new face of homelessness.
A lot of them struggle with physical ailments and have to choose between medication and food.
You bet I'm going to help them out any way I can.

I went to a new nail place just a few blocks away. I got a pedicure and manicure. I was shocked to see the total was only $40. I thought it was a mistake. I tipped the girl $20. She did a wonderful job and deserved it.

I just found this wholesome video on reddit. I wanted to share here, to show the beauty of anonymous donations... since it was being discussed here, how to help a neighbor in need, without making them feel ashamed, so... this video may be inspiring for some of you! For me it definitely is.

Wow, pedi and meni for only $40? Was she oriental? Made me happy you tipped 50%.
My daily Starbucks drink is only $3.50. If a barista is good to me and always have my drinks ready when I got there, I'd tip $10 and tell them I appreciate their good service so much. That makes me feel good and dealing better with being called a 'man' countless times on the daily, lmaooooooo!

Yes, she was oriental. lol The only words of English she knew was "Thank you". She said it many times and I said it back many times.
You're amazing sis. People who give good service deserve nice rewards and praise. I didn't know you could get a drink so cheap at Starbucks as $3.50.

It depends on what you get but there are teas that are less expensive than lattes, fraps etc cost more over $5 so it all varies.
I get a short hot chocolate which is $3.38 but I rounded to $3.50 then I'll get an iced coffee refill after I'm done with my full hoe makeup. Depends on my mood but sometimes it takes 30 mins or an hour to do my whole face so it'll take as long as it takes I'm a slow drinker so I'm in no rush, lmao.
I wish there were other paid hoes or vanilla that would do their makeup at Starbucks so I don't feel so alone but I honestly and truly feel no one has the confidence and blatant as I am.

This is great!
Donated to someone who needed help paying mental health bills just so I could share words of encouragement. I know what it feels like to struggle with mental health and the bills that come along with that. That person sent a thank you...so she got the words of encouragement. That's all that really mattered to me. I usually donate anonymously, but I wanted to say something to hopefully encourage that person not to give up or lose hope.

I treated my daughter and granddaughter to authentic Mexican for breakfast. The small mom and pop was PACKED. Our waitress was running around for us and ALL her other tables. Our bill was $42 I tipped her $15. She did a bang up job for how slammed it was.

Helped a guy out today in the shop, he wanted cash but the machine was out of order so he was going to get cashback at the till. Usually you need to buy something to do that and he said he hoped not. I said if I gave him the money for the milk I was going to get, he could pay for it on his card and get his cashback. So I asked the woman if I could get cashback if I bought my milk on my card, she said yes and he used his card to pay and get his cashback, and I gave him the money. This was a complete stranger in the queue, we strike up random chats like that where I live!
I have no idea if he didn't have more money to spend, or if it was just annoying to him. But I know in the past I might have only had the money and no extra to spend beyond that. I shouldn't make assumptions based on my own experience but if someone had helped me like that years ago I would have really appreciated their kindness.

Sha you are amazing!
So here's a question for you. Have any of you paid for somebody else's shopping? During the pandemic there were lots of stories in the news about people paying for NHS worker's groceries and although I never had the chance, I would have loved to. But sometimes I'd like to pay for someone's shopping if I thought it might make their day. Not a trolley full, I'm not that kind! But maybe a few bits and bobs.
I was chatting to a guy in a shop last week and asked if he wanted to go in front with his two beers. He said no, he only had to go home earlier otherwise. (Not the same guy as the cashback, this happens to me a lot!)
Anyway I really wanted to pay for his beers but I didn't want to embarrass him. I mean what would I say? How would I do that without it seeming patronising? Any thoughts? :)

Left zero tip for the bartender who I asked could help me out because a guy stood me up for a date. I asked if he could get the manager. He didn't even vouch for me, yet he kept asking if I wanted drinks. I told him I was stood up.
I paid for an Uber there ($10 plus $5 tip) and the food plus two glasses of wine was $32. The manager, a female, showed zero empathy. I'm a regular there. The uber to get there was $10 plus a $5 tip.
I left the bartender $0 and I AM NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN.
I cried to the Uber driver who picked me up. He empathized. I left him a $5 on an $8 ride.
I'm very random with who I help. And fuck that bartender who didn't even vouch for me. FUCK HIM!!!

Exactly. If Sha says he didn't deserve a tip then I believe he didn't deserve a tip. And wtf is with everyone standing everyone up? I hear SO many women talking about how they get stood up repeatedly, it's become extremely common. If I was in the dating game I think I would insist on the first date being done via skype LOL. We can get uber eats from the same restaurant and just do it virtually.

We left a waitress a $50 on a $50 ticket .
There were some reasons. It was mothers day and we could tell the kitchen was off / the system wasn't flowing.
She was great though. Dinner took over two hours ( for two items ).
We just relaxed on the patio ( just us out there ) .
I think I've posted here about how I'm obsessed with eating early ha so we go to the place at 4:30 p.m. !

Animal charities are my weakness, if that's the right word. That's lovely what you are doing, a cat charity near me has a collection box in Tesco and I always put something in for them. Last week I put a box of Whiskas and someone before me had put a big bag of Royal Canin in, I need to up my game! ;D I just hope the shelter cats aren't as fussy as my two!

That is super nice. The good shelters are very appreciative of any donations. It takes a lot to care for the animals. They even check them out medically and inform you of any health issues.
Cats are happy to eat anything in the shelter but suddenly become fussy when you get them home;D.
