Like most people do, I switched like 3 times, but ended up with music as my major. First vocal performance and then Choral conduction.

Though it's been some years since I've used it, I have a degree in elementary education. Check what teachers make in your area and you will understand why I'm a dancer.

The common carreer I've seen for some dancers, tends to be in the medical field usually as a Registered Nurse or something else like EMT, RT or Medical Records Clerk studying to be Nurse.

My guess is that the hours, pay, mobility, and chaos of Nursing are as close as you can get to dancing without being a dancer. Go figure.

Salient point. One day in the next few years I will graduate from College and become a History teacher. I absolutely KNOW I will still bartend for a long time to come as well.

i have a B.A. in art/art history, minor in biology. just started my masters this fall. cut down on the dancing to three nights a week (only one this week due to papers and finals).

you guys are correct...this thread is evidence that refutes the dumb dancer stereotype.

bravo to us :)

Undergrad in sociology and russian lit, minor in spanish. MBA in international business....

Even I am suprised at the educational depth and breadth of everyone. BUT, we must be realistic and realize that we are a specific cross-section of dancers everywhere, and that the dumb high school drop-out stripper is very much a true stereotype.

In Austin, the dancers are far more likely to be educated because its a college town and the cost of living is higher than Houston, IMHO.

I am a finance major. For the time being, I'm taking a break from school. I've been out for almost an entire semester. I'll be back in the spring though.

Within the next few months, I'll also be receiving my real estate license. I just have to go take my exam. Wish me luck on that

My major is Elementary Education. Hopefully within the next few years I will be teaching kindergarten. I have also been considering the move to a higher level of education such as high school, because I'd love to conversate with some one who could actually understand me. Also I've been considering minoring in English and maybe having a freelance writing job on the side.

I graduated from high school a bit early so I've had some time to take some courses at various adult schools and institutions. I have earned three diplomas. One for nutrition, another as a natural health consultant, and I'm a cna. (I also got some simple certificates for things I'll never use like pet groomer, mushroom growing, and astrology/parapsychology.) I used to think of broadening my holistic health knowledge and becoming a relaxation therapist or an herbalist. However I've been helping my husband out with his business for the last two years. He customizes 4x4 trucks (rock crawlers mainly). I'm very good at it and I've already passed a couple of ASE tests. Thinking that a career as a mechanic (diesel) will be in my future.

I did a double business major in Finance/Information technology and a minor in history for my undergraduate degree. I haven't decided on a masters yet. I started dancing in LONDON, while I was studying abroad.., then fell off a mountain in switzerland while skiing, had knee surgery, graduated from college got a real job as a consultant, and started stripping on the side.., to make ends meet..., now i hate my consulting job, and want strip full time? Am I out of my mind??

I am double majoring in psychology and Theatre. Unless i hit it really big on Broadway, I will go to grad school for child psychology. I want to help underprivlaged kids pursue their talents in the arts.
