I hated these customers. I remember two incidents with the cheap men and they each had different outcomes. The first club had just opened and got these cheapos who came for the cheap beer. So the room was packed and the first dancer got on stage and not one person tipped her. She held out her garter, nothing so she walked off the stage. Second girl, same thing. I did the same thing and we confronted the manager about this. He actually agreed with us.
Second case, and this one makes me angry. I was working at another club and the stage was packed. I get on stage and walk around to all of the guys. Not ONE guy tipped, nor did any of them even have money out (usually a sign). So the second song starts and I look like I am about to remove my top but before I do that I walk around again and still nothing. Several guys had the audacity to tell me they aren't going to tip because "they have no money". Then why are you in a club? Another guy asked when I was going to remove my top and I said "when you tip me". He then said he wasn't going to tip me. So instead, I start doing a tap dancing routine without removing any piece of clothing. I get off stage and the manager starts yelling at me, how dare I not take off my top, how I am refusing to work, etc. I tell him that none of the guys are tipping and there aren't any other guys in the club. He says he doesn't care because these guys come to see tits and they are mad! I start yelling back (I don't put up with shit from anyone) that I am PAYING to work there so I am entitled not to take off my top when guys aren't paying. During this time another girl also goes through the same thing and she gets yelled at. She tells the manager off and walks back to get dressed to quit. He tells me I can stay if I promise to take my top off next time. I tell him I can't promise that if they aren't tipping. He starts calling me names and saying how dare I yell back (or something like that). I said I've had enough of you and walk back, pack my stuff and leave. Then a few days later he calls me to ask when I am coming back because I owe him money (yeah, even though this club was empty except for these cheapos house was something like $50. I tell him never and hang up. Thankfully he never knew my real name or address. A few years later this club was busted for prostitution because most of the girls I later found out were extra girls.
YES I got fired as well because i wouldnt remove clothing, and i wouldn't do it because the men werent tipping anyone, not a single dollar. Am I expected to work for free? You are right, we do pay to work there but the Mgrs insist on treating us like employees instead of independent contractors. Point that out to a mgr. and expect to get fired, too. Its a no-win situation. And to think that you'd loose your job over a DOLLAR that wasn't given to you that you were likely going to give to the club anyway, for house. ::)
