What do you mean by REAL money? The money made by girls or managment?

I started dancing at 19, and quit after about 2 years of regularly working 3 (sometimes 4) nights a week. I then went back to dancing last summer for a few months in NYC. I definitely do not regret my decision to quit. The business just isn't headed in a great direction right now. I am very uncomfortable with what a lot of customers were expecting. I agree that that "entertainment" aspect of it was lost, and now it's all about how "sexual" it can be.
I do miss the show, as I was one of the few entertainers at my old club who really did try to entertain. I definitely miss the money. But, as long as I do what I'm supposed to do in school, work hard, and keep a good record, I will making just as much if not more in about 2 years once I graduate from grad school.

I was pretty much forced to quit by my boyfriend. I still want to dance and if we ever part ways I will start dancing again (as long as I am in good shape still). The money is too good to walk away from and I didn't suffer any reprecussions from the job. I like the attention and felt like it was kind of like being an actress in a way.Since that is the way you feel, if you don't dump his ass and go back to dancing now, like you want to, you will regret it WHEN you finally do get rid of him and live your life the way YOU want. It's your life, not his. Live it now.
As for the rest of the thread. I unofficially quit a few months ago but I've got the bug again so I'll be back, most likely this week. I just like it too much I guess. I suppose I may as well just resign myself to dancing till the throw me off the stage like Paris LOL. Looks like that's where I'm headed :D
And Jo, your photos brought back some goofy memories for me. I'm a little behind you but I couldn't help giggling at the memories of those pants, and boots, and the hair :P
