I have one of Summer's poles and LOVE it !

As a mostly gown club dancer I never did too much polework because:

1. Alot of high end club don't have a pole(I always thought that was so weird)

2. It was kinda hard on the ego to look like a newbie after years of working in clubs so even when there was a pole I didn't do any major tricks b/c I wasn't very good at it yet.

However since I stopped working regularly awhile back I took the plunge and got my very own home pole.... it's been like being a kid again playing on the monkey bars, lol !

I've had my own pole for over a year now and absolutely love it! I got it from /www.platinumstages.com. It's removable which is great because it's in my living room. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get one because I have a vaulted ceiling, but they sell adaptors for that. It's stainless steel so I found it hard to get a good tight grip. That was solved by buying a solution called Dry Hands (www.dryhands.com (http://www.dryhands.com)). It works great and doesn't leave any residue. I haven't bought any pole dancing DVD's yet but plan to in the near future. So far, I've been watching videos on YouTube. It's amazing what some of those women can do!

Wow... 8! Just got a mental pic of you flipping and spinning from one pole to the next.

I have just one, a PS superpole that I bought about a year ago. I love it, except for the fact that my husband screwed it together so tight I can't break it down all the way... So much for bringing it anywhere. I even bought the nice case with it, too. Grrr.... It definitely helped me get back into my pole tricks after I had my baby. I didn't want to practice at work and look sloppy so I did them at home til they looked good again. I love it!

I have a PS Superpole as well. I had to call Alena to get it installed, lol. I find it hard to put up tightly enough by myself. But my husband does it fine. I take it up and put it back down every time becase I have two kids that woudl be swinging from it in the livingroom if I didn't. NO ER visits for me- thanyouverymuch. ;) The last time I tried to put it up myself I fell. Mostly I only bruised my ego though.

Try rubber wrenches to seperate them. They work great!! Make sure you lubricate the threads before you set it up again!

and clean them thouroghly BEFORE putting them together! that makes a HUGE diff. make sure there's absolutely nothing in the threads...especially fibers (use a 100% cotton cloth diaper)

hey alena..we got ya beat at 11 poles! lol ;) i'd love to see pics of your studio! oh yah, can you email me (i'm having pm troubles again..although, i think it's my computer having the issues with my pm box)

I used to live in a GIANT MANSION on Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin with about 30 other people... we could do whatever we wanted to our own bedrooms so I went to a hardware store and told the clerk what I wanted... he gave me the fixins for a spinning pole (I think the total cost was about $20) and I put it in my car and drove it home. When I was getting out of my car, I saw the frat boys from next door and excitedly told them about my new pole. They said they would installed it for free. ;) It was fun. I didn't take it with me when I left, so as far as I know the pole is still there.

I've got a pole, and I still suck at pole work! Any good instructional videos out there?
