Pec is tight on hiring girls right now. . . they have their quota. . . you can only get hired if someone brings you in

Doesn't sound like its worth the trouble. i met a gal at a local club..about 6ft tall without heels, beuatiful blond, lovely breat job..made NO money at Scores in New York...with the cost of living in NYC..laides....is it reallt worth $1000 a night when $500 a night will get you so much more in other parts...
BTw..don't knock the russians...they do what they can...even me, as a russian, am constantly amazed at the blonde stripper fantasies that come out of there...or maybe its the cheap cost of cosmetic surgeries..my mom worked with a dutch enginner in mocsocw that got drugged and robbed by a muscovite chick to pay for her nose job..ya never know...meow!

I agree with you, Katrine, that consistently successful dancers at upscale clubs in Manhattan need to have that "special something" on top of being very beautiful. Girls who might be considered the "star" of a club in a small or medium sized city might wind up being considered as just one more "ordinary" dancer in an upscale Manhattan club in the eyes of club customers.
Plus there is an entirely different financial viewpoint that must be kept in mind with these clubs. For example, a girl who typically earns $300-$500 in a small or medium sized city club gets to go home with $250-$450 of that after paying stage fees and tipout. If this same girl comes to Manhattan and earns $500-$700 (a 40% increase over what she would have earned at home), she only gets to go home with the same $250-$450 after paying the outrageous stage fees and tipouts that most Manhattan clubs charge. At SCORES for example the stage fee is like $280 on certain nights, with tipout on top of that! Then when you subtract another $100 a day minimum for accomodations in NY even on a bargain basement basis, you may discover that you actually could have netted more money by dancing closer to home.
I agree with you that dancing in upscale Manhattan clubs does involve a fair amount of "calculated risk" unless you are extremely beautiful, articulate and talented at the same time. In my own case, it's definitely not worth the trouble since my physical appearance definitely doesn't match the "sophisticated showgirl" image which seems to sell best in the very upscale Manhattan clubs!

I think your right melonie. I have been looking for upscale NY clubs to work in but i'm now considering trying other clubs in manhttan/NY/NJ. I figure that if have the "goods" to work in an upscale club then i will do pretty well in a other clubs maybe even better!

mel- only 40%? when i go to PEC the house is only 120 scores is over double that! a room? my girlfriend and i split a sublet for 750 each. . . we walk to work. . . i wouldn't do it if it was not worth it. . . i make on average at least 3 1/2 times what i would do in Philly. . . but like you said. . . . everyone cant do it. . .

Sitara, I was speaking to Seraya about girls who might come to Manhattan from out of town for the first time to try dancing there. These girls are going to have to cover airfare, a hotel room, cab fare, food etc. These girls are also going to have to hit the clubs cold, perhaps not being immediately able to book themselves on the best shifts, and without the benefit of knowing or even having seen NYC club customers before.
This is a very different situation for them from a girl who has chosen to move to and live in Manhattan, has committed to a sublet of several months duration, who lives close enough to the club to walk to and from work, and who probably has met some Manhattan club customers through previously working in other NYC clubs or because she has regularly worked the same club on the same shift for several weeks.

How Scores continues to get away with their nonsense is beyond me. Their business is down but their stage
fees and tip-outs have remained the same. PEC is much
more moderate and more "dancer-friendly". As far
as out-of-town dancers looking to score big in the
Big Apple- can happen, has happened but there are
no guarantees. Their fixed costs are higher ( air-fare,
hotel etc.) Right now I would reccomend their checking
out the central and northern New Jersey clubs. The
money can be just as good and the expenses are
lower leading to a higher net.
For instance, let's say you book for a three day
weekend at the Go Go Rama. House fee is $40 per
night, house gets $3 per lap- dance and they have a
deal wirh the local Wellesley Inn ( less than $100 per
night double occ.) Do the math. Lately, the top girls have been doing 60 to 80 laps per night and it is
the Holiday season so tips have been fairly good.
Some girls have been netting $1000 to $1200 a night.
The Downside depends a lot on your POV. Stage sets
are 12 min. nude 5 or 6 X per night. Laps are high
contact; the cookies are supposed to be off limits.
Generally bookings are limited to 7 or 8 nights per
month.
They have a bunch of "sister" clubs in the Stiletto-Lace
chain in Manhattan , Jersey and Rockland. They range
from evening gown- bikini-gogo ( Lace in N.J.) to
low-contact nude ( Stiletto). Check them out y-selves
and decide what's best for you.
For the more adventurous, there is Delilah's Den. There's no house fee; just tip the DJ. Private dances are $20 for 4 min.- dancer keeps $16; VIP is $200 for
30 min.- dancer keeps $125. Contact and extras are
up to the dancer. The rule is supposed to be "No Contact" but esspecially in the VIP it's really " Don't
get caught". The top girls are consistently netting
over $1000 per night.

The_Kid the reason Scores is able to get away with those crazy house fees is because it is the most known club in NYC. I have meet girls from other countries who work in NJ and dream about working at Scores. It's the only club that many out of towners know about. PEC is still relativeley new an not known nationally and internationally like Scores is. Management knows this and fully take advantage of it. I have gone in there with customers and the club is empty but there are 50 girls working.
Also clubs like Scores and PEC always have the big spender clientele. Many girls rather pay $300 for the chance of hooking one of thoese guys than taking chances at a regular club. I have worked with some of them and I think they are crazy but when they tell me occasionally guys come in there and get $200 worth of lapdances with at $100 tip included then I see why they continue to go. I know of a few girls who work dayshifts in NJ (can be very lucrative) and they go to work in NYC at night. Don't know how they do it but it seems to work for them. Some of them even have regulars who pay their housefees ontop of spending money on dances.

EBONY- I don't doubt it. A few dancers are still doing
very well at Scores but a number of their best girls
left months ago for PEC. Scores has been coasting
on its reputation for years with dancers and customers
alike. The cognoscenti know to avoid the place and go
elsewhere. others have to learn the hard way.

Hey Sitara,
I am planning on coming to New York Around the 16th of January. Do you think they will be hiring then? I came there last year September and the response wasn´t well.. they actually told me that they were not taking any girls then but I felt that was not true since they told me otherwise when I phoned.
I usually work in Stringfellows London and now want a change since I have been there for a year and a half. I normally sport tiny blonde braids but after visiting PEC last year thought that perhaps they were´t too keen on me having braids.
What are your suggestions?

Hi Jamaican Girl:
I also work at the club-
They are extremely tight in hiring right now- and not to sound 'high' on myself, but we are the hottest club right now in NYC-
So they are really really picky. You must have a hot/tight body and pretty face. You will need to look well put together (hair, nails, makeup, dress) even when auditioning. Do not show up here in sweats just because you know you will be changing to audition. PEC still values how you approach them- think of it like an interview. You must go in there looking fantastic.
I'm not trying to scare you, but I see many girls that are 'good enough' but never get hired- because we are filled with girls, 'good enough' isn't 'good enough'. You'll need to be a 9 or 10- pretty much slammin'.
Hopefully this info didn't make you feel down, but instead gives you insight to what the club is looking to hire. Good luck to you----

RE:
Ebony:
Foreign does not necessarily mean you can't speak English....you might have a slight accent going on but some girls even try to fake that to attract a guy .... some guys think it's exotic and usually the girls from a different country/state etc. have more stuff to talk about and offer different opinions on things....not to mention that they stand out in the crowd and as someone already said on here ..men want what they don't have at home. I've seen a lot of girls in my club to be the highest earners (Aussie , Russian , English ) ...
just my five cents

Here is my question. PEC is like my dream club as far as my dancing career goes. Im wondering a- if after I get my boobs done Ill be PEC material, and B- does anyone that works there know a woman by jennifer? Short black hair and blue eyes, bigger breasts, works down in NOLA also. I met her there and she wanted to take me to PEC but of course she hadnt seen me naked so... also, it was weird cuz I had no makeup on and was dressed very casual (just visiting that trip). I lost touch with her and would love to talk to her again. BTW my pic is

All girls are welcome to audition. We have a variety of cultures, sizes, colors, etc. We have white girls from texas and bronze girls from Columbia. We have all sorts of types, but the bottom line is that they are all pretty hot and well-put together.

Im thinking of auditioning at PEC also and Scores again after telling the housemom to expect me back for the rest of her life until she hires me (my 4th audition in 4 months. Instead of telling me im not hired she keeps saying there are too many girls right now so shes bringing this on herself.)!!!
I dont really want to work there, just to get the job, then i'll be happy that I was worthy. Weird huh? I wonder if theres girls who audition just for the high of the club saying yes and then are like 'cool, anyway...'leave and never turn up for work again. This could be some new kind of disorder.lol
Yep, September/November time was a pretty 'non-hiring for anyone' kind of time through all the top Manhattan clubs. I got turned away at the door of PEC by a guy dressed in the most spectacular suit I ever did see. I was like WOW.
Didnt even need to go in the club to know the inside and the girls HAD to be better than Scores (Scores girls didnt look so hot at all par a couple with good implants) and the ones I saw leaving the building with no make up looked pretty damn good.
Cant dog the Russian/Ukraine girls, they're working their way through every club around the world making their money. Theyre pretty down to earth too.

I'm new to NY and looking for good clubs as well and would love to audition for any of the upper class clubs- PEC, Scores, etc. If I attach a picture, could you tell me if I could make it looks wise? I do have a pretty great personality as I'm going into comedy as a living(crosses her fingers) eventually. I am not sure this is even the right forum- but maybe based on my looks you all could make suggestions on which clubs I could work at. Thanks so much. If these are not sufficient I'll find a place to post others.

Well here is a picture of some girls who do work at Scores and Penthouse:
That is usually how I gauge my own odds of getting hired. It may mean having to go to the gym extra, tan, and a new hairdo. I know a girl who 'prepped' herself 1 year before going to audition and eventually got hired at Scores. She got implants, lost like 30lbs, and basically drastically changed her look to increase her chances. It payed off because she works there now.

Nick IS quite the snappy dresser! He must have been the guy with the "spectacular" suit...
Anyhow, I work at PEC too, and got hired in November, when I thought it would be next to imposssible.
I definitely didn't take any chances in regards to my audtion by showing up in great hair and makeup, but more importantly, I showed up with a great attitude and I think THAT'S what they noticed to set me apart from the tons of other "exotic-brunette types" they have there. Also, it's a totally different hustle from other clubs I've worked in and yes, it DOES, get, um, "competitive"...
Tinkle might be right, you might not get hired. Or she could be wrong. Truth is you'll never know till you try.
Just so everyone can already stop asking "Can I work at PEC?", just go looking your finest, smile, speak well (enunciate) and GO FOR IT! Yes, rejection sucks, but you won't get anywhere just sitting on your ass and posting about it.

The first photo are of PEC girls ( the 3 balck girls are still there-err Spanish I think) and the last two photos with BaBa Booey (Howard Stern Producer) are the Scores girls and not sure how current the Scores photos are.
And Nina is right--girls just go audition, we can give insight on the inner workings but the Mgmt is who give the thumbs up or down. Our say means squat.

I have worked at high end clubs all across the country ( ones that are considered hard to get hired at) and the girls arent really any more attractive than the girls I have worked with in middle of the road clubs. They just have a more showgirl appearance, nice bodies , implants, more of a movie star look and they also carry theirselves with a lot of class and confidence. So if you are classy and confident, dress beautiful and go try out.
Pamela
01-27-2005, 09:07 AM
Very true Michele. Dress makes the difference for alot of women.
However, i thought i was looking at a couple pictures with hair done, gowns (nice dress anyway) and lots of make-up? Guess i expected to see Christy Brinkley or Cindy Crawford type ladies, and that is just not the case. Still not one lady is not pretty, just not beautiful in my eyes, i bet it's not as hard as most think to get hired there, really. Just a hunch.
Good luck to all who try for any club!!!!

don't worry Tinkle, I respect your honesty, and am glad that you said that. You were not mean at all! I think I'd like to try it, anyway, probably won't get hired, but it doesn't really seem like my atmosphere at all. But it would be worth trying, heck, I'm in the theater business anyway and have lots of auditioning ups and downs. I am looking for a place that would like a really unique dancer- I have a whole look made up based on the gothic/sexy vamp style and am looking for a great club that will let me show my unique and somewhat zany personality. I rather not look and be like a typical dancer but stand out in a way that is truly myself. Which is why I love dancing, because it's such a sensuous expression of the self. Ah! Here I am getting so philosophical. I do have a question about a club- anyone know anything about the Pussycat Lounge? Seems they have a "circus" which seems quite entertaining. I haven't spit fire in years, looks like I might have to take it up again. lol. ;D
The "circus" at Pussycat Lounge isn't officially put on by the strip club, but rather by an independent producer who is among the several people who rent out their upstairs room for different kinds of shows. The Pussycat Lounge itself (located solely in the downstairs bar) is an old-fashioned topless bar. There is only stage dancing and no kinds of table, lap, or other private dances. The girls make money only from stage tips (well, I get the feeling that some make money other ways, but that's not official or in the club). Women who work there claim to do alright, although it's always been hard for me to understand how.
Based on your self-description, you'd HATE PEC. There used to be a bunch of clubs in NYC where girls like you could work (my favorites, if anybody cares), but most of them no longer exist. Pussycat Lounge certainly is one, though.
Lenore Tepes
01-28-2005, 09:25 PM
Maybe I should start a new thread on this. But if anyone can think of clubs like the one I described, I would love to know about them. Pussycat Lounge said they were going to call in a day, but not yet, so I'll be bugging them this weekend *grins*

Quick question.. I have heard that the girls here wear phenomenal gowns. When visiting the club last year I noticed the beautiful gowns. Could someone who doesn't work for the club buy gowns from the house mom? The club I just started at is a gown club but I hate the gowns the house mom sells. And ordering online take forever. Can anyone who works there give me some info? Thanks
