Good Job, I see posting your weight as accountablity. Before I would have been nervous that everyone would judge me but then when I think about it again, this is the one group of girls that actually can understand my life (dancing).

I've been sick all weekend so I hope all I lost wasn't water weight, I'll post my weight when I get back from the gym.

I hope you are feeling better - perhaps you should not exercise too vigorously after being sick... take care of yourself, use some vitamin C - it really helps in the flue season ;D

Good job Candice! Your determination is really motivating – I was about to dig in the spaghetti I just made for dinner, but after reading this topic, I think I’d rather eat some apple sauce:)

Some interesting info about the weight. Sorry if I am repeating something you already know:/

* The average American woman is 5'4" tall and weighs 140 pounds.
* The average American model is 5'11" tall and weighs 117 pounds.
* Most fashion models are thinner than 98% of American women.
* Four out of five American women say they're dissatisfied with the way they look.
* On any given day, almost half of the women in the United States are on a diet
*Americans spend over forty billion dollars a year on dieting and diet related product
*More than one out of three "normal dieters" progress to pathological dieting. One fourth of those will suffer from partial or full syndrome eating disorders.
[info partialy taken from Jean Kilbourne "Slilm hopes" DVD]

^ let's be careful with the diets :)

I'm feeling better thanks for all the support.

I went to the gym yesterday and did some light weight training, I love the feeling I have after I leave the gym. I started tanning full time again since it makes you look leaner, I figured it would keep me motivated. I've been eating very well. My SO has been grilling me lots of chicken breast and I've been making the veggies. I've been out of CLA for almost a week now, waiting for the new shipment to come in.

Shopping for skinny jeans!

I think mine is going to be getting my new car, I sat in my car the other day and realized for the first time how much smaller I am when I'm in the drivers seat than I use to be.....

While grocercy shopping last night, I got a contanter of Egg Whites, not the fake stuff. I made them this morning, only took a few minutes while I made coffee, super yummy. A little pricery but I like that its real.

I love the support group idea. I always do better when I have someone besides myself to 'report' to...(when I was in wrestling and had to weigh in everyday, I was very firmly 56kg). So...since I have the tiniest of frames (small wrists, narrow hips and ribcage), a thinner weight is what looks best on my body. I'm (for everyone non-metric) 5'8" and 141llbs currently and would like to get back to my ideal 56kg (125llbs). I love the ticker tape idea. Brilliant. Does anyone have any weight loss tips for someone with IBS? It really affects what I can eat and what I can't...since caffeine feels like draino on my gut, I am terrified of weight loss pills. Any good diet plans that allow for non-dairy, low-fat, but high soluble fibre (with moderate insoluble fibre)? I can't eat bran or wholewheat straight up...I generally have to add it on top of white rice or potatoes due to my crazy sensitive stomach...I suppose I should just cut calories and cut out sweets? Wish me luck!

When I cut out dairy I noticed a ton of difference.

Nice to see you ladies keeping up with your goals:)

If I reach the goal target, I am definitely buying some new clothes and new make-up:)

Today I was weighting myself - wouldn't you know - I lost 2 lbs:) I hope that is fat, not only water weight :D And the SW is one of the reasons I am doing well!

To Mollyzmoon - I am used to metric system - doesn't it make you feel thinner though?;) I mean the difference when you think "I weight 50"(meaning kg) or "I weight 110".. just an interesting observation.

Antigone
10-11-2005, 07:29 PM
ok, this is rather silly - but how do you adjust the weight in your ticker tape? :-[ cause I just created the new one:/ I am sure there has to be some more simple way to do it....

I seem to get more upset about my eating than working out, I think it's becuase I know your diet is 80% of weight loss. If I get to upset I know I'll binge.

Anyone got any ideas on how i could persuade him to come with me to work or exercise in some manner. I like to go in the morning so i can have the energy for the rest of the day but hes big into staying up late and sleeping all day:-( any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yay! I lost another lb, maybe two. I can't really tell if my scale says 155 or 156. I need to step it up. I guess I picked 'study' over 'exercise' a little too much his week, b/c I think I could have done better than that.

I put on some weight due to drinking too much alcohol and eating like crap. I recently joined a gym in a quest to lose weight and I got my body fat tested. I had 35% body fat when I got it tested-yikes! I am now starting to eat a lot better. I'd like to lose about 10-15 lbs. I am on this nutrition plan at the gym I go to (Gold's Gym). It's a 10 week program and they gave me a printout of what I should eat every day. I check in with them once a week to see how I am progressing. I had to pay $300 for this program but it was worth it to me. Here is what I eat in a typical day:

Meal 1
1 cup of Special K, Cheerios, or Wheaties cereal
(I'm supposed to have a glass of milk too, but I hate the taste of milk so I drink water and take calcium pills instead.)

Meal 2
6 small slices of lean meat (usually turkey or ham)
1 carrot
1 bagel with a little bit of butter

Meal 3
2 oz. of grilled or baked skinless chicken or 2 oz. steak
1 cup of brown rice (I put a little bit of salsa on my rice, otherwise it tastes pretty bland)
1 orange or apple

Meal 4
1 chocolate protein shake

Meal 5
1 slice of wheat bread
2.5 oz. of grilled or baked skinless chicken or 2.5 oz. steak
1.5 cups of brown rice
0.75 cups of vegetables (usually peas, corn, or green beans)

I bought a food scale and a measuring cup from Wal-Mart so that I can keep track of my portion sizes. I also drink a ton of water and take a multivitamin each day. What I eat each day adds up to about 1500-1600 calories.

Sometimes I fuck up and eat pizza, sweets, or fast food or I drink too much alcohol, but I just try to get back on track as soon as possible. :)

Ok I guess I will get on the band wagon too, lol!

I had to get a neat little counter like everyone else did first.

Ok here we are:

Age: 29
CW: 123
GW: 115
H: 5'4"
Build: athletic to med build

The really hard part about me trying to tone up and loose weight, is that hubby is trying to gain weight at the same time, lol.

(He could eat a whole cow, hooves and all and loose 3 lbs when he was finished, lol)

I am taking daily:

6 Hydroxycuts
3 Stacker 3 XPLC
1 tsp Amino Fuel
1 protien shake
2 hair pills
1 multi vitamin
plus doing the butt rub creme

3 times a week I use 1 tsp of creatine powder as well.

I do between 500 and 1,000 crunches a day (depending on how lazy I am)
and just do normal stuff at home.

I work 4 days a week, and play golf once a week.

I also don't worry about diesting much (that's where I need help), I just eat what I want to.

Hey ladies - sounds like you are all doing fab! is it too late for me to jump in? I'd really love to drop some pounds.

I did weight watchers a few years ago - didn't join but some girls i work with bought the books and did it ourselves. It was going great and then they started dropping off the program and I found that when i had no support system I started to fail too.

I know i can do it but I'm one of those people who really needs the support - just someone to hear my bitching when it's hard and be happy with me when I succeed!

Ugh, I am having the worst PMS day. I was STARVING all day and trying to control my cravings so I kept eating protein bars. I think I ate 5 today. But that was all until dinner time so my calories were under contol. Then I had a HUGE plate of broccoli and a chicken breast dinner so the fiber would fill me up, didn't work. Then hubby decided to take the coconut pie out of the freezer and thaw it out. Damn, he had a huge piece and I was drooling. So I thought well one little bitty piece won't hurt. I ate it and it was soooo good. So I decided to have another piece!! }:D

Anyway, I am super bloated and my poor colon aches from all the protein bars from today. :-[

I weigh myself every morning and I know I am going to be 5 pounds heavier from water retention. This sucks!

Pheobe
10-20-2005, 05:18 PM
I wish I could use protein bars to control my hunger - I can only get halfway through one before I can't stand the taste anymore. I'm trying air popped popcorn to fill me up, except it SUCKS without butter, so either way I'm eating something that tastes horrid. I guess I'll have to go back to the old standard - raw veggies.

Why is everything that tastes good/feels good bad for you? Life would be good with guilt free vodka, ciggies and pizza! OH - and just for the record, forced self discipline sucks too! LMAO

Pheobe, have you tried the Slim Fast Strawberry Cheesecake ones?

They are really good, and not too bad for you either.

And the 100 calorie snack packs are pretty good too. I take those to work with me to munch on while I'm there.

I really need a support group too. I used to be able to eat healthy. I dont know what happened butI just cant stay on a diet anymore. AND i havent been able to get up the motivation to exercise. I even paid for a gym class and I dont go. i think ive gone to one session out of like ten. I havent been dancing lately so i think thats the reason that i put on some weight..i REALLY wanna go back to work , but im about 5 pounds over where i used to be and 10 0r even 15 pounds where i WANT to be. ANY ADVICE???????i still look ok but i have a tummy...my boyfriend likes my ass and boobs...i hate my thighs and ass

mollyzmoon
10-22-2005, 03:30 PM
Uhm, I don't know how to change the ticker, but I went from 141 to 137! It's been about two weeks since I last weighed myself, but hooray! Although I don't think I've done much to lose weight except beware my prickly tummy- but still. Yea! Twelve pounds to go. :)

Although, whenever I embark on losing weight, and a healthy amount like 10 or 15 llbs, I always get greedy and start to think my goal should be 120 and not 125, or even maybe 115 (I'm between 5'7" and 5'8"). This is ridiculous, I know, but happens nonetheless. I can't help but feel when I was 115, I got a lot more attention about my body. Haha, I know that's the average playboy weight for my height. How do you all figure out losing weight without getting scale obsessive?

Pheobe
10-23-2005, 05:54 PM
Kitana - thanks for the tip - I'm going to pick some up 2morrow. I'm hoping it's just the chocolate coating that I'm not fond of...

gotta confess though, today I ate two brownies. I don't even LIKE brownies. I guess when you aren't supposed to have something it makes it all the more appealing. Wow, it just hit me how hard this is going to be...

OH! And one more thing I didn't know - I love to run, on the treadmill or outside, either way I love it! well i read in a magazine in the Dr.'s office the other day, that running stretches this muscle that runs from underneath the breast to the abdomin and over years of running (sports bra or not) that it will cause un-natural sagging!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? I'd never heard that before! Have any of you? I think I'm going to have to go eliptical!!! Just when you think you're doing the body good, someone comes in and craps all over your hard work! :'(

Hey. SO i started diet plus exercise today(finally)! Lets start talking about some good tasting diet food, such as lean cusine? Do you think that diet drinks are bad for you, such as diet snapple. Can you still lose weight while drinking them? Is anyone taking fat burners that are safe and do not contain efedra? GOod luck to everyone on their weight loss journey!!

Well, guys I have hit a plateau. I'm not eating bad and I am exercising, but not as much as I'd like. School is killing me. Between that and work, I'm just sticking with the same weight. I guess I need to stay off the internet. That said, I'm going on the treadmill for a bit. Hope everyone's doing better than I am!! :-\

A regular of mine said to me "ok, don't lose anymore weight girl". I didn't notice but I look a lot thinner- I have no scale at home, but I checked it out today and holy shit! I lost almost another ten pounds. Thank you, chronic illness. Thank you, ulcerated bowel. Nothing like THAT for a diet, but oh what I'd do for a latte or a piece of chocolate or some cheese- man, I miss eating.
