Which songs, in your opinion, are the most sensuous to dance to?

Djoser says--OK, this has been made a sticky topic, but be informed that Metallica songs going on your girlfriend's CDs are off topic. I love Metallica too, but post about it elsewhere.

Enigma, Delerium (especially their superb Sarah McLaughlin remixes), Paula Cole "Feelin' Love", Erykah Badu, N'dea Davenport, these I would play for a sensuous mood, to name but a few groups/singers. The latter are more jazz oriented, but sexy as all hell with the right woman.

You have to choose your timing well, however...

I have occasionally broken this rule, but generally speaking these songs are not for midnight on Friday. It only works when you make them aware of the fact that you are breaking the rule for a damned good reason, namely that Jenna, for instance, who is as fine a dancer as I have ever seen, is coming on stage.

Then, after she has hypnotised their unsuspecting asses, kick right back in with the heavy shit. It is tricky, and only works with such a woman as this...

I am at any time very fussy about who to play these songs for, they are for special women, and lose their effect if played for dancers whose lack of talent and/or inner beauty mean you are throwing the songs away. Coming up with reasons I can't play a song can be amusing, but usually it's not necessary as ordinary women rarely ask for extraordinary songs.

I think this should maybe be in the "music" section, but I know not how to move it, nor have I the right.

You should here the remixes on the "Becoming Remixed" album. It's all remixes of songs off "Becoming X" Good stuff indeed. Very, very sexy.

It's not sexy, but all of a sudden I have to express my desire to dance to "Bad Medicine."

Carlos, if you know a dancer who likes Zombie, but also likes a slow, sensuous groove, get her to dance to track 9 from Supersexy Swinging Sounds. She'll love you for it, and you'll love what you see. I have played it for dancers who would not otherwise ever consider Zombie, with great result. This CD is by far my favorite Zombie production, but then I'm into techno, and techno remixes of rock songs, the heavier the better.

There are those who may find it to be old news, but no DJ in my area has ever played it (not that that is saying much, LOL), except yours truly, and now that I think of it, one dancer--of more than a thousand--may have had her own version. They have invariably loved this CD, from my experience.

Along the same lines--a more recent release--American Made Music to Strip By, has a slower track, #7, which would fit the bill, but will require a more dedicated Zombie dancer for best effect. Track 9 is also a winner, but has moments which are not really as slow, and will definitely be better played for Zombie fans. This one also got me into trouble at a biker-oriented strip club, of all places (!). The French owner complained that it sounded like devil-worship music. It has been quite popular in other clubs, however.

Ok, I checked on the internet. Is this Supersexy song #9 titled "Real Solution #9"? I might order this on Amazon.com. I saw a link to this.

yup, "Real Solution #9" is the name.

I dance to so much Zombie at the club that the DJ won't play them for anyone else anymore ;) (and he's a fan too, hehe,)

As for other sexy songs... Garbage's "Crush #1" works well for me as does (oddly enough) the Creatures' "Pluto Drive". I've been playing that a lot lately since I seem to make a ton in stage tips with it.

Okay...I need an opinion. What does everyone think about Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me?" Is it too stereotypical or what? I just love that song and think it would be so fun to dance to. Any advice for songs that would go well with it in a set?

Any advice for songs that would go well with it in a set? IMHO that's a great song, but may not go well in certain kinds of clubs so you may have to think it over before having your DJ play it. There's another song, this from AC/DC, titled "High Voltage" from their album of the same name, which, unlike most of their songs, is a happy, funky party song with lyrics suitable for performers like you. Listen to it and decide ;).

There's another song, this from AC/DC, titled....

Speaking of "sexy" AC/DC; From the 'Dirty Deeds...' (1976) album:

'Ride on'. (5:47)

It's played frequently around here, but always enjoyable.
---------------------------

And from the always-in-the-home-player Jethro Tull:

'Stormy Monday Blues'.

(A BBC radio archive track from the album: '20 years of Jethro Tull'. A cover of a very old T. Bone Walker track)

The second half of the song is mainly a show-case for Ian Anderson's flute work, but "sexy" (by one definition or another) none the less.

Just about any Marvin Gaye does it for me, especially the obvious. Also Barry White, of course.
"No Diggity" by Blackstreet was a fave for a while.
"Medicine" by Garbage. Lots of Garbage is super sexy.
"You're So Pretty - We're So Pretty" by the Charlatans UK - their last album, Wonderland has several great songs for being slinky.
I think the original "Passenger" by Iggy Pop is far sexier, but probably not as well suited to titty bars, than the Michael Hutchence version. Also, there is a Siouxie and the Banshees version. Speaking of which, I loved the Creatures and have never thought of dancing to them - good idea though.
"Juxtaposed With U" by the Super Furry Animals.
"In These Shoes" by the late, lamented Kirsty MacColl.
"Fuck the Pain Away," Peaches
"Phenomenon," LL Cool J - and speaking of which, "Freaks of the Industry" by Digital Underground is a total strip club classic.
"Voodoo Child" Jimi Hendrix; also "Foxy Lady" and "Red House"
"My Love" by Little Willie John
"Suffocated Love" - Tricky - this songs turns me on a lot.
"Je T'aime Moi Non Plus" - Serge Gainsbourg; Brigitte Bardot making sexy orgasm noises.
Six Finger Satellite - "Coke and Mirrors"
Firewater - "Another Perfect Catastrophe"
Morphine - damn near everything; especially "Like Swimming" and "A Good Woman is Hard to Find"

Sorry about the length; I'll stop now.

(Tre's note: For everyone's future reference, HTML uses < >. For YaBB code, place the desired function within ] [ . Reversed, of course.)
]i[ ]/i[= italics; ]b[ ]/b[= bold, and so on. ;)
You can then get into more complex enhancements such as:
Shadow text
or
Glow text
Sorry, I was bored. ::)

Sensuous to me means a slower and blusier sound regardless of the subject matter of the lyrics.

I'd love to watch a gal peel her clothes to any of the following:

The Eagles - "Those Shoes", "Witchy Woman",
"Desperado"
Rainbow - "Street of Dreams", "Stone Cold"
Chris Issac - "Wicked Game"
Scorpions - "Still Loving You"
Blackstreet - "No Diggity"
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Simple Man"
Days of the New - "Shelf In The Room"

That new Seether song "Fine Again" is growing on me.

Pamela, that is probably his best known song, and very good, but I always preferred another one by him---I forget the damned name "Trouble Man" or something--a haunting inner city sound to it--always makes me think of when I lived on the South side of Chicago. There is also an old singer named Donny Hathaway that had a similar sexy, soulful voice, and a sensuous groove back-up band. I have it on vinyl but not CD, gonna have to try to find that--thanks for reminding me!

I also have always liked "Got to Give it Up" by him, for an upbeat Motown type dance song.

Chris Isaak is geat for sexy songs, I have about 4-5 of his I use for certain dancers. And [She did a]"Bad, Bad Thing" is great to tease them with, from Eyes Wide Shut. Time for a spanking.

Tricky and Garbage are hot, I play them whenever I can get away with it.

Iggy Pop. wow, you don't hear him too much anymore. "Penetration" is pretty good. He was great in that song they started "The Hunger" off with--ever hear of his sidekick, Ian Dury? I think it was his name--"Funky Disco Pops" was a great song--but not really in the slower sexy groove song category.

Thanks Djoser,
i will hunt the others up, and check them out. I have the DVD Eyes Wide Shut, being a Tom Cruise fan! But could not stand the movie, so i may have to play around with it until i find the song. I am now hooked on "lets get it on" however, Beter pass soon. I can't dance to it all night..Lol

Ha Carlos,
silly guy, i like about anything except country. Sorry. Give me some Good ole sexy songs by Zepplin, Robert Plant had a sexy voice moaning. Or some type of music you would want to make love to. That is usually good dancing music. Sexy, drum beat that you can move too in various positions. And a women moaning or a man, just down and out sex songs. But Wishing well ? Carlos, i need to teach you sex songs 101.

My favorite sexy songs to play had more of a gothic dark side to them.

Groups like Massive Attack (songs: Black milk & Angel), Portishead, Type o Negative ( love you to death), Velvet Acid Christ (Slut), Nine inch Nails, Claire Voyant, Mephisto Odyessy ( i Breathe you) , DJ Rap (Fuck with your Brain)

My picks:

Almost everything from "Pretty Hate Machine" by NIN

"Tell Me" by Billie Myers
"I Want What I Want" by Lauren Christy
"Mouth" by Merril Bainbridge
"Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" by Pink Floyd (Tre turned me on to that one)
"It Hurt So Bad" by Susan Tedeschi
"Don't Let Go" by En Vogue
"Let's Get It On" by Marvin Gaye
"Keep Breathing" and "You Look So Fine" by Garbage
"Wicked Game" Chris Isaac
"Dog & Butterfly" by Heart
"All In All" by My Friend Steve (although it's more of a downer song)
"If You Could Read My Mind" by Gordon Lightfoot
"Possession" by Sarah McLachlan
"Possession" by Bad English (a completely different song)
"How Soon Is Now" by The Smiths
"Life In a Northern Town" by Dream Academy
"One Caress" by Depeche Mode
"You Can Leave Your Hat On" by Joe Cocker

I could probably keep going for quite a while, but it wouldn't serve much greater purpose...

Though a lot of his music belongs to the "bubblegum rock" genre, I'd recommend a few tracks by
Tommy James and the Shondells.

I think we're alone now

Crystal Blue Persuasion

Sugar on Sunday

And my favourite:
Crimson and Clover

"Now, I don't hardly know her,
But, think I could love her
Crimson and clover.
I wish she'd come walking over, I'm waiting to show her,

Crimson and clover
Over and over

Yes, my, my, such a sweet thing,
What a beautiful feeling.

Crimson and clover
Over and over
(repeat)"

Search for tracks recorded during the 'psychedelic era' (1965-1975) as ones to possibly dance to.

I just rediscovered 'Something Like a Phenomenon' by good ol' LL. I forgot how much I liked that song. Great beat, fun to dance to, and the crowd loves it! Also, even though I dislike Justin Timberlake on principle, his 'Cry Me a River' has a fantastic sex beat. Just makes me wanna bump and grind! ;D Great for stage - the guys loved when I recently did the aforementioned pair as a set - Cry Me a River then Phenomenon.

I also like 'Dah Dee Dah' by ?Alicia Keys? and 'Flow' by Sade. Nice for that ending set when I'm the last dancer on stage.

Tre...Speaking of Tommy James, i thought of a song i heard in my car the other day and know it's old, but don't know who sang it, or how it goes...Except this: Please go all the way, it feels so right being with you here tonite. I like it, and wondered how it would do winding down the crowd at the end of the night.

Anyone know this song? Thanks :-/

Here you go, Pamela. :)

Go All The Way
by (The) Raspberries

"I never knew how complete love could be
'Til she kissed me and said

Baby, please, go all the way
It feels so right
Being with you here tonight
Please, go all the way
Just hold me close
Don't ever let me go

I couldn't say what I wanted to say
'Til she whispered, I love you

So please, go all the way
It feels so right
Being with you here tonight
Please, go all the way
Just hold me close
Don't ever let me go

Before her love
I was cruel and mean
I had a hole in the place
Where my heart should have been

But now I've changed
And it feels so strange
I come alive when she does
All those things to me

And she says
(come on) Come on
(come on) Come on
(come on) Come on
(come on)
I need you (come on)
I love you (come on)
I need you (come on)
Oh, oh, baby

Please, go all the way
It feels so right
Being with you here tonight
Please, go all the way
Just hold me close
Don't ever let me go

Go all the way

Go all the way"
